Floral Basket to Kim Jong Il

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was presented with a floral basket by Zhang Weihua's children on the threshold of the New Year Juche 94 (2005). It was conveyed Thursday to an official concerned.
    The ribbon of the basket bore the letters "We sincerely wish the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il good health".

Foreign Ministry Spokesman on Japan's Anti-DPRK Campaign

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- The Japanese government recently announced "results of thorough probe" into the information and material evidence concerning the dead abductees handed over to it by the DPRK and clarified "its stand and demand concerning the issue." We can neither accept nor admit the results and resolutely rejects them as the government reacts to our good faith with an immoral attitude, said a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry in an answer given to a question raised by KCNA Thursday concerning the results. He said:
    In the "results of the probe" cooked up to attain its political aim the Japanese government cried out for "protest" and "strong counteraction."
    The document called "results of the probe" is peppered with words totally negating the sincere efforts the DPRK has made for the reinvestigation into the issue of abduction and its results.
    The Korean people are now denouncing the Japanese ultra-right forces as a group of cunning and cold-blooded guys.
    The conclusion drawn by us through previous contacts with Japan is that Japan has exploited the DPRK's sincere attitude towards its dialogue partner for its political plots and hostile acts against the DPRK.
    Now that it has become clear that the Japanese government has openly joined the ultra-right forces in their moves against the DPRK it no longer feels that any DPRK-Japan inter-governmental contact is meaningful.
    The Japanese government should return the remains of Yokota through an official channel as already demanded by the DPRK side and thoroughly probe into the truth behind the case of the fabricated "DNA test" of her remains and apologize for it.
    The Japanese government's above-mentioned warning against the DPRK is a very threatening and despicable provocation as it reminds one of a thief crying "Stop the thief".
    As we have already clarified, we are fully prepared to react to Japan's every provocation with physical strength.

Natfl Meeting Marks Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Start of Songun Policy

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place at the April 25 House of Culture Friday to mark the 10th anniversary of the start of the unique Songun policy by leader Kim Jong Il. Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Kim Il Chol, member of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and minister of the People's Armed Forces, made a report at the meeting.
    The Songun policy of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il is the unique political mode as he has carried forward the Songun idea which President Kim Il Sung set out when he was pioneering the Korean revolution and consistently maintained in the whole course of revolution and his Songun revolutionary leadership, thus further developing them in depth as required by the prevailing situation and the developing revolution, the reporter said, and went on:
    It is the only way of defending the country and the nation and emerging victorious to pursue the Songun policy. When a revolutionary army remains strong, there is nothing to fear even in case a ten million strong enemy comes in attack on us and even if the world changes a hundred times and it is quite possible to accomplish the cause of socialism. This is the main review of the decade- long history in which the great Songun policy has been in force.
    We should invariably take the Songun idea as the lifeline of the Korean revolution and firmly uphold it and dynamically advance only along the road of the Songun revolution in any storm and stress.
    All the Party members, servicepersons and people should live and struggle as the Songun revolutionary soldiers sharing their destiny with Kim Jong Il and make the trait of the perfect unity based on comradeship centering around the leader prevail throughout the revolutionary ranks at all times, holding high the slogan "Let's unite around the great Comrade Kim Jong Il!"
    We should dynamically conduct the political and ideological offensive with main stress on the idea and thus shatter the vicious moves of the enemy to destabilize the DPRK and his psychological warfare and consolidate the ideological position of our revolution as firm as a rock.
    We should channel utmost efforts into increasing the People's Army to more firmly prepare our revolutionary armed forces as the army of the supreme commander and the strongest revolutionary armed forces both nominally and virtually and make the military position of our revolution steel-strong.
    It is necessary to regard it as the primary strategic task before the revolution and construction to develop the defence industry guaranteeing the military capacity of the country and continue directing big efforts to strengthening and developing our defence industry into an independent and modern one.
    We should thoroughly establish the trait of attaching importance to military affairs throughout the society, give full play to the traditional trait of the army-people unity, organize all work on the principle of giving priority to the military affairs with a view to augmenting the military power of the country in every way and consistently implementing the Party's policy of putting all people under arms and fortifying the whole country.
    The reporter called on the whole Party, country and people to come out to bring about a signal turn in the nation's agricultural production, true to the Party's intention to direct all forces to farm work and reenergize the overall national economy to make new progress in socialist economic construction.
    We will unite the whole nation as one under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, check and frustrate the separatist moves of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad and accomplish the historic cause of national reunification through national cooperation without fail, the reporter said, and continued:
    Today the situation on the Korean Peninsula is growing extremely tenser due to the evermore undisguised U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.
    The peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula can never be achieved, to say nothing of the improvement in the DPRK-U.S. relations, unless the U.S. makes a switchover in its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
    We will do our best to bolster the war deterrent force to cope with the prevailing situation while following the U.S. moves to stifle the DPRK with high vigilance. If the U.S. ignites a war of aggression without discretion despite our repeated warnings, the army and people in the DPRK will make merciless annihilating strikes at the aggressors by mobilizing all the potentials they have built, pursuant to the Songun policy, and win a final victory in the confrontation with the U.S.
    Attending the meeting were senior officials of the Party, the state and the army, chairpersons of the friendly parties and others.

Over 180 Cases of Aerial Espionage Committed by U.S.

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists committed at least 180 cases of aerial espionage against the DPRK in December, according to a military source. Strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes with diverse missions were involved in the espionage.
    More than 30 cases of espionage were perpetrated by U-2, RC-135, E-3 and EP-3.
    On Dec. 30 a U-2 took off a base of the U.S. Air Force in south Korea and made a long flight in the sky above Tokjok Islet, Phochon and Sokcho to spy on all areas of the north. Tactical reconnaissance planes including RC-12, RC-7B and RF-4C made shuttle flights day and night in the sky above the area of Tokjok Islet and Phochon, the area between Phochon and Sokcho to spy on the frontal and coastal areas of the DPRK. The planes involved in the espionage numbered 8 on Dec. 16 and 7 on Dec. 17, 23 and 28 on a daily average.
    Such espionage proves that the U.S. imperialists' talk about "dialogue" and "peaceful solution" to the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula is nothing but a smokescreen for covering up their moves for aggression against the DPRK and they are only giving spurs to their moves for a new war against the DPRK.

Meeting and Photo Show Mark Day of Victory in Cuban Revolution

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- A meeting and photo show took place at the Chollima House of Culture Thursday on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the victory in the Cuban revolution. Present there were Jon Hyon Chan, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who is vice-chairman of the Korea-Cuba Solidarity Committee, officials concerned and Pyongyangites.
    Present there on invitation were Cuban Ambassador to the DPRK Ruben Perez Valdes and officials of the Cuban embassy.
    Speeches were made at the meeting.
    Earlier, its participants looked round photos displayed on the occasion.

Message of Greetings to Speaker of Legislative Council of Palestine

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Friday sent a message of greetings to Rauhi Fattouh, speaker of the Legislative Council of the Palestinian National Authority, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the start of the Palestinian revolution. The message extended firm solidarity to the Palestinian people in their just cause to put an end to Israel's moves of aggression on the territory and people of Palestine and build an independent state with Kuds as its capital.

Russian Ambassador Hosts Receptions

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Andrei Karlov hosted receptions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the embassy in honor of officials of the Central Court, the Ministry of People's Security and the Ministry of Foreign Trade on the occasion of the New Year Juche 94 (2005). Present at the receptions on invitation were Yu Yong Chol, vice-minister of People's Security, Kim Yong Jae, vice-minister of Foreign Trade, and officials concerned.
    Staff members of the embassy were present.
    Speeches were made at the receptions.

Chinese Consul General Hosts Reception

     Chongjin, December 30 (KCNA) -- Wang Yonggui, Chinese consul general to Chongjin, hosted a reception Thursday evening at the consulate general on the threshold of the New Year Juche 94 (2005). Present there on invitation were Pak Su Gil, chairman of the North Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee, and officials of various organs in the province.
    Staff members of the Chinese consulate general were also present.
    Speeches were made there.

Message of Greetings to Fidel Castro Ruz

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, together with Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Fidel Castro Ruz, first secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Cuba, president of the Council of State and president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, today on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the victory in the Cuban revolution. The message said:
    We extend warm congratulations and comradely greetings to you and, through you, to the Communist Party, the government and the people of Cuba in the name of the Workers' Party of Korea, the DPRK government and people on the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the victory in the Cuban revolution.
    The Cuban people have firmly defended the sovereignty of the country, shattering the U.S. vicious moves to isolate and stifle it, and made great progress in all fields of socialist construction under the correct leadership of the CPC headed by you after the victory of the revolution.

Greetings to Cambodian Prime Minister

     Pyongyang, December 31 (KCNA) -- Premier of the DPRK Cabinet Pak Pong Ju sent a message of greetings to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. Expressing the belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, which have been steadily consolidated and developed by the joint efforts of the two peoples for the past 40 years, would grow stronger and develop in the future, the message sincerely wished him a greater success in his responsible work for the stability and prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people.
    Meanwhile, DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun sent a message of greetings to Hor Nam Hong, deputy prime minister and minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.

Kim Jong Il recibe cesto de flores de hijos de Zhang Weihua

     Pyongyang, 31 de diciembre (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il recibio un cesto de flores que le dirigieran los hijos del chino Zhang Weihua con motivo del ano nuevo 94 (2005) de la Era Juche. Fue entregado el dia 30 a un funcionario coreano.
    En la cinta del cesto de flores se leia: "Deseamos de toda corazon la salud del camarada Kim Jong Il, gran Dirigente".

Mitin de militares del EPC

     Pyongyang, 31 de diciembre (ATCC) -- De atentar los imperialistas yanquis aun en lo minimo a la dignidad y la soberania de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, el Ejercito Popular de Corea pondra en accion la poderosa fuerza de detencion fisica preparada en decadas de anos para aniquilar despiadadamente a los invasores, concluir la batalla de confrontacion con Norteamerica y realizar la causa de reunificacion de la patria. Asi subrayo el jefe del Estado Mayor General del EPC, Kim Yong Chun, en su informe pronunciado en el acto de decision de los oficiales y soldados de las fuerzas terrestres, navales y aereas del EPC para ser abanderados y brigada en el apoyo a la gran politica de Songun del Comandante Supremo Kim Jong Il.
    En el acto efectuado el dia 30 en el Puesto de Pinos tomaron partes el jefe de la Direccion Politica General del EPC Jo Myong Rok, el ministro de las Fuerzas Armadas Populares Kim Il Chol, otros funcionarios directivos del MINFAP, oficiales y soldados de las tres fuerzas del EPC.
    El Comandante Supremo proclamo hace ahora 10 anos a todo el mundo el inicio de la politica de Songun con su visita a la compania del Puesto de Pinos. Esa inspeccion del Dirigente fue un evento historico que dio inicio a la nueva epoca de la revolucion jucheana que sale victoriosa con el poderio del Songun, dijo el informante y continuo:
    El Comandante Supremo inspecciono sucesivamente el Monte Osong, la Cota 1211, la isla Cho, Phanmunjom, los puertos militares, aerodromos y otros puestos de defensa de la patria y formo al EPC como un ejercito fuerte en la ideologia y conviccion y una invencible fila combativa dispuesta de todos los medios poderosos de ofensiva y defensa.
