Old Well Unearthed in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- The History Faculty of Kim Il Sung University recently discovered another brick well inside the Rakrang earthen wall in Rakrang District, Pyongyang, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The wall belongs to the period of the minor Kingdom of Rakrang (B.C 108 -the early 4th century), which was built by people of the ruined Ancient Korea.
It is nearly 1.5 kilometers long.
Sites of government office buildings, dwelling houses, barracks and three wells had already been found within the wall and groups of tombs of variousshapes around it.
The recently unearthed well is 0.78 meter in diameter in the mouth and 4.5 meters deep. It is almost vertical down to 3.9 meters from the ground . The 0.6-meter-thick floor was tamped with clay and gravel.
Its wall was built of grey bricks of 69 layers. Each brick is 30 centimeters long, 15 centimeters wide and 5 centimeters high. Some of the bricks were made in different patterns.
The solid bricks show the developed ceramic technology at that time.
Many relics such as earthenware, roof tiles and ironware were collected in the well.
More than 70 pieces of earthenware were discovered, 15 of them have their original shapes and 56 can be restored to the original state.
Most of the earthenware pieces are similar with those found in a well in Kosan-dong belonging to the days of the Kingdom of Koguryo. Their quality and shapes are better than those produced in the period of Ancient Korea.
U.S. Condemned for Describing DPRK as "Terrorism-Supporting State"
Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs today gave the following answer to a question raised by KCNA in connection with the fact that the U.S. took issue with the DPRK again over the issue of terrorism:
The U.S. State Department made public an "annual report on terrorism in 2004" on April 28, which designated the DPRK again as a "terrorism-supporting state".
It is, indeed, ridiculous that the U.S., the kingpin of state-sponsored terrorism and the biggest terrorism-supporting state, makes public a "report on terrorism" every year and brands anti-U.S., independent countries as "terrorism-supporting ones" .
Given the fact that, although the Bush administration admitted the DPRK has no record of terrorism, it termed the DPRK a "terrorism-supporting state" again over the "issue of abduction" which had been completely resolved between the DPRK and Japan, we can clearly know how frantic it is getting in its ambition to overturn the system in the DPRK. .
We have been disgusted with its clumsy moves. .
The U.S. more undisguised move to stifle the DPRK only hardens its determination to continuously go the way it has already chosen.
