All-out Actions for Withdrawal of U.S. Forces Called for

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration was reported to have released on May 23 an article titled "Let us all turn out in the actions to drive the U.S. forces out of south Korea by the concerted efforts of the Koreans with firm faith in sure victory." The article said: More than 100 days have passed since the north declared its access to nukes. However, the White House is doing nothing, just running about like a headless chicken. What Bush has done is nothing but making absurd call for north Korea's return to the six-party talks.
The "myth about the U.S. being a superpower" has been smashed to smithereens in the era of Bush II. He will be recorded as the president from the Republican Party second to Eisenhower in signing a document of surrender with the north.
The victory of the Koreans is certain and any illusion about imperialism leads to national ruin.
February 10 when the north's access to nukes was declared and June 15 when the north-south joint declaration was adopted can be likened to the chariots of victors. The U.S. is completely upset by the north's tremendous political and military might and great national unity.
The prevailing situation proves it is not the Korean Peninsula but the U.S. that is in the grip of a crisis and the peninsula does not find itself in a war crisis but the U.S. is driven into an abyss of ruin.
Victory of the Korean nation is certain but it does not come of itself. Any illusion about imperialism would lead to national ruin.
It is necessary to firmly maintain the anti-imperialist stand both at the phase of dialogue or the phase of confrontation.
Calling upon all the Koreans to direct all efforts to the movement to drive the U.S. troops out of south Korea and open up a landmark phase in this struggle this year, the article stressed that when the south Korean people's pressure for the U.S. troops pullout goes beyond control, the U.S. will be left with no option but to pull its troops back from south Korea without any excuse.
The article underlined the need to direct all efforts to the struggle for the pullback of the U.S. troops from south Korea and conduct an anti-war peace campaign in close combination with the movement for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces.
It also called for developing all forms of anti-U.S. struggle tasks into a drive for their withdrawal.

Present there on invitation were Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Jon Kyong Nam, president of University of National Economics who is chairman of the Korea-Sweden Friendship Association, Kim Yong Jae, vice-minister of Foreign Trade, Choe Chang Sik, vice-minister of Public Health, Hong Son Ok, vice-chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and officials concerned, diplomatic envoys of various countries and representatives of international organizations here.
Speeches were made at the reception.

Combined Performance Given by Art Groups of Servicemen's Families

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The combined performance given by participants in the 8th contest among art groups of Korean People's Army servicemen's families at the Ponghwa Art Theatre is drawing a capacity audience everyday. Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il recently enjoyed performances given by art groups of families of servicemen of various units which participated in the contest. He extended thanks to all members of the art groups who greatly contributed to making the revolutionary spirit prevail throughout the society, noting that their contest clearly proved the validity and vitality of the WPK's literary and art policy for putting the arts on a popular basis and fully demonstrated the proud feature of the revolutionary soldier culture created in the era of Songun.
The performances were appreciated by senior officials of the Party, the state and the army, members of the Cabinet, officials of the Party, armed forces and power bodies, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the KPA, officials of scientific, educational, cultural and art, public health and media institutions, working people, youth and students in Pyongyang.
The art groups staged a colorful program including a chorus of the immortal masterpiece "Nostalgia" and "We Will Hold Father Kim Jong Il in Higher Esteem," a dialogic poem and play "The Leader Protecting Our Life," a narration and song "Photograph Associated with Love," a drama and trio "A Great Family," a short poem and drama "We Will Bring Them Up as Successors to Death-Defying Fighters," a sketch "Go Please, Bearing This in Mind," a short play "Patriotic Feelings," an instrumental music and song "Mill for Victory on Jikdong Pass" and quintet and narration "Socialism Is Ours".
The performers sang of the immense honor and pride of leading a worthwhile life as admirable women revolutionaries under the care of Kim Jong Il and fully demonstrated the fixed faith and will of all the servicemen's families to work hard with loyalty to accomplish the sacred Songun revolutionary cause of the Party in the single-minded unity with their husbands.
    The performance goes on.

Peerlessly Great Persons Produced by Korea Lauded

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Facine Toure who had visited the DPRK as a special envoy of the Guinean president, expressed his boundless reverence for President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il who have performed immortal exploits in the struggle to accomplish the cause of human independence. He said:
The world progressives express boundless yearning for Kim Il Sung and look back on his immortal feats with deep emotion.
I, too, cherish an unforgettable memory of him.
We had the honour of being received by him in March 1985.
How can I express in a few words my impression of the day we were received by the President, the most reputed man in the world!
On that occasion he clearly indicated the way for the African countries to follow in order to build a new society.
His teachings helped us serve as true officials who devote themselves to our country and people.
We had an opportunity to visit Mangyongdae, sharing with the Korean people and the world progressives the boundless reverence for the great father of the nation and the sun of humankind.
Upon embarking on the road of revolution in his early years, Kim Il Sung grew up to be a great revolutionary and made endless journeys for on-the-spot guidance to bring happiness to the people and prosperity to the country.
The human history has a record of many great men, but it does not know such peerlessly great man as Kim Il Sung.
The Guinean people know well about the great exploits performed by him though Guinea is far away from Korea geographically.
Since the Guinean independence he had positively supported the Guinean people in their efforts to build a new society.
Recalling that Kim Jong Il has made a great contribution to the development of the friendly and cooperative relations between Guinea and the DPRK, while working hard to carry the President's cause of Juche to completion, he pointed out that that was why Guinean President Lansana Conte, Guinean government and people decided to award the "Grand Cross National Order of Merit," the highest order in Guinea, to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
The order is not a simple one, but it reflects the Guinean people's ardent reverence for the great persons who have actively supported them in their efforts to build a new society and their just cause.
The Korean people are, indeed, happy as they hold in high esteem the peerlessly great persons highly praised as the sun of mankind.

Police Violence Denounced in S. Korea

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity and the People's Solidarity of south Korea reportedly held a news conference in front of the building of the Police Office in Seoul on June 1 and denounced the indiscriminate crackdown of the police authorities. The speakers including Han Sang Ryol, permanent representative chairman of the Reunification Solidarity, condemned the police which committed an indiscriminate crackdown on the participants in the rally and protest against war and for peace on May 29, walking away 26 protesters and seriously wounding 30 or more others.
The police outrage against the protesters voicing opposition to war and the U.S. was a premeditated act intended to break the daily growing people's will against war and for peace at any cost, they noted.
They said the expression of the people for the retraction of the U.S. hostile policy against the north, the pullout of the U.S. forces and peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula is a right that can in no case be encroached upon.
They strongly demanded the authorities disband the combat police units which committed the violence and those answerable for the case.
A protest letter to the police authorities was made public at the news conference.

Nuclear Threat to DPRK Must Be Removed First: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The United States is now making a mockery of the international community, letting loose a string of balderdash that the DPRK's abandonment of its nuclear program is immediately the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and it would get rid of international isolation and gain economic benefits, if it returns to the six-party talks and drops its nuclear program. A Rodong Sinmun analyst Tuesday says that this cannot be construed otherwise than a sinister attempt to worsen the situation by confusing the nature of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and the way of its solution. If the whole of the peninsula is to be nuclear-free, the nuclear threat of the U.S. must be removed before anything else and confidence be built between the DPRK and the countries concerned, the analyst notes, and continues:
To this end, the United States should, first of all, give up its hostile policy to bring down the system in the DPRK through a nuclear war and withdraw all its nuclear weapons from south Korea. The withdrawal of the U.S. nuclear weapons must be confirmed, under all circumstances, through verification. Any nuclear pullout without it is meaningless.
The nuclear weapons possessed by the DPRK are deterrent to defend the sovereignty and security of the country from the U.S. preemptive nuclear attack. They will automatically become unnecessary, if the nuclear threat of the U.S. fundamentally disappears from the peninsula. The six-party talks should be a place seeking a package mode for fairly realizing the denuclearization of the peninsula on this principle.
The U.S. claim that if the DPRK came to the six-party talks and showed its will to drop its nuclear program and fulfilled this, it would get a lot of benefits is a wrong logic denying the nature of the six-party talks and the basic way of solving the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
The days are gone when the give-and-take way of solution was discussed at the six-party talks. Now that the DPRK has access to the nuclear weapons, the talks should become a place of disarmament talks for the participating countries to settle the issue on equal stand and status.
The U.S. should have a correct understanding of the six-party talks and not try to use the venue of the talks as a leverage to attain its sinister aim by putting the DPRK in the dock as a "nuclear criminal."
The U.S. should correct the wrong view of the nature of the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and its peace and security and do what it should do, such as renunciation of its design to topple the system of the DPRK and withdrawal of its nuclear threat to the latter.

Japan's Shameless Claim to Tok Islet Can Never Be Justified

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Sometime ago, an American researcher of Tok Islet found out and made public a secret document saying that the islet where seals often give birth to the young was once a part of the Korean territory among the materials he had collected at the National Archives and Records Administration in Maryland State last year. This is not the only historical material on the recognition of Korea's dominium over Tok Islet by foreigners.
A Minju Joson analyst Tuesday says only Japan claims in a far-fetched way that Tok Islet belongs to it when all people recognize Korea's dominium over it. This is a downright distortion and total negation of history and a wanton violation of the sovereignty of the Korean nation, the analyst says, and goes on:
It is the intention of the Japanese reactionaries to bring into living reality today at any cost their old dream of "the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" which they failed to realize in the past by imbuing the Japanese people with the pride and superiority complex of the "Yamato nation" and implanting the idea of militarist overseas aggression in society.
To achieve this criminal purpose, the Japanese reactionaries are now openly revealing bitter grudges centering around their defeat and revengeful thought which they have harbored for 60 years after World War II.
To put it specifically, they are trying to restore the "honor" of the Class-A war criminals including Hideki Tojo punished by international justice and conscience and, furthermore, dye the whole country with the idea of militarist overseas aggression.
Their shameless folly to repeat the blood-stained history of past crimes can never be justified.
The Japanese reactionaries should keep in mind the historical lesson and stop at once their foolish act which will invite their self-destruction.

KCNA Blasts U.S. Attempt at "Regime Change" in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Very disturbing moves are observed among the ruling quarters of the United States these days. They do not bother to assert that a war to be fought in the new era should target a regime change instead of states. These belligerent remarks hint at a military attack.
Commenting on this, foreign press reports said that the remarks can be interpreted as a call for "regime changes" in the DPRK and some other countries which the U.S. hawkish forces designated as "outposts of tyranny" in the past.
This clearly indicates that the U.S. attempt to realize a "regime change" in the DPRK still remains unchanged.
It is the fixed way of thinking and stand of the U.S. to topple the system in the DPRK by force. It attaches more importance to war than to dialogue and considers dialogue as leverage for getting time to execute a war.
The U.S. loudmouthed negotiated settlement of the nuclear issue is nothing but a smokescreen for concealing its strategy to stifle the DPRK by force of arms.
What merits a serious attention is that such outbursts are timed to coincide with the U.S. moves to escalate tension on the Korean Peninsula.
The U.S. reckless new war scenarios such as "CONPLAN 8022-02" have already been drafted for mounting a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK any moment and its "arms buildup plan" calling for spending 13 billion U.S. dollars is being pushed ahead at its final stage.
Many Stealth fighter bombers for nuclear attacks have been introduced into south Korea, missiles capable of penetrating underground have already been deployed and preparations for the creation of a "rapid task force", detached corps for a "regime change," is making brisk headway.
The reality goes to prove that the U.S. military plan to realize a "regime change" in the DPRK is being put into practice and that it is opting for confrontation and war, not dialogue.
It is a wild dream for the U.S. to try to bring down the inviolable system in the DPRK. The system in the DPRK is a man-centered socialist system which the Koreans value as their life and soul as it was chosen by themselves and built by their own efforts.
The U.S. reckless moves aimed at a "regime change" in the DPRK only harden the determination of its servicepersons and people to steadfastly keep to the road of socialism.

Japanese Reactionaries' Visits to Yasukuni Shrine Assailed

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries are growing increasingly zealous in their visits to the Yasukuni Shrine, which are becoming politicized and regularized, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed article. Recalling the recent superheated rhetoric sounded off by acting Secretary General of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan Abe and Chairman of its International Affairs Committee Nakagawa to build a social atmosphere in favor of the shrine, the article goes on:
The Japanese reactionaries' attempts to justify and back up the visit to the Yasukuni Shrine are an anti-historic act of inciting the revival of militarism and war and going against the current trend toward independence in defiance of people's demand and wish for peace. And it is a militarist folly of fostering the atmosphere of confrontation in Asia and whipping up reinvasion.
The Japanese reactionaries are trying to describe the crime of aggression committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past as "a peace-oriented act" by paying visits to the shrine. Lurking behind this is their sinister intention to evade the settlement of their past. But things will never go as they wish.
The Japanese reactionaries' improper approach to Japan's history of aggression and continued visits to the Yasukuni Shrine have touched off wrath at Japan among the Asian people who hold bitter grudges against the Japanese imperialists.
Their demand for apology and compensation from Japan for its past crimes is not merely to make Japan kneel down and beg for forgiveness but to see that it sincerely feels responsibility for its past crimes through the redemption of its past and does not follow the past footsteps.
The Japanese reactionaries should ponder over this, stop visiting the shrine and distorting history and make a bold political decision to settle the past. They should sincerely do what they should, clearly understanding that there is no future for those going against the desire and the trend of the times.

RS. on WPK's Policy for Focusing All Efforts on Agricultural Front

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- The policy of the Workers' Party of Korea calling for focusing all efforts on farming after designating the agricultural front as a main front in the socialist economic construction this year is a revolutionary measure for pulling through difficulties before the Korean revolution by our own efforts and dynamically speeding up the general march for the Songun revolution to build a great prosperous powerful nation. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a by-lined article.
    It goes on:
Today the agricultural front is the most important front to emerge victor in the stand-off with the U.S. and the struggle to defend socialism. What is most important in economic affairs is to do farming well and solve the food problem.
The Korean people are now all out in the farming, putting aside every other affair, in hearty response to the call of the WPK. In this course they are strikingly demonstrating the might of the single-minded unity of the Party, the army and people.
Concentrating all efforts on the farming helps reinforce the political and ideological, material and technological foundations in the rural areas. The revolutionary step taken by the Party to focus all efforts on the farming this year provides an important occasion of accelerating the socialist rural construction.
The increased assistance of the whole Party and the whole state to the farming helps raise the farmers' political and ideological level and their enthusiasm to boost the agricultural production and encourages the officials and other working people in the agricultural field to do better the farm work. This, at the same time, helps them fully meet the requirements of the farming method of Juche in all the processes of farming.
The successful implementation of the above-said policy has opened up a bright prospect of winding up the farm work at a lightning speed in the right season. The reality has firmly convinced all the agricultural working people and other people of the fact that the step taken by the Party is the most revolutionary one.

Chairman of South Side's Prep. Com. for Joint Functions and His Party Leave

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Paek Rak Chong, chairman of the south side's preparatory committee for joint functions of Koreans in the north, the south and overseas to implement the June 15 joint declaration, and his party left here Tuesday. They were seen off at the airport by An Kyong Ho, chairman of the north side's preparatory committee for the joint functions, and officials concerned.

Its mission is to regulate and strengthen financial and material support necessary to develop education in accordance with the requirement of the times.

Bean-Milk Production Bases Increase in DPRK

Pyongyang, June 7 (KCNA) -- Bean-milk production bases for children have been steadily increased in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The DPRK government has taken measures to build a modern bean-milk production base in each provincial seat and regularly supply tasty bean-milk and sour bean-milk to primary and middle school pupils as well as nursery and kindergarten children.
A bean-milk workshop was set up in the Phyongsong Foodstuff Processing Factory in South Phyongan Province last year. This year well-equipped bean-milk production bases have been built in the seats of North Phyongan, Ryanggang, South Hamgyong and other provinces to keep their production normal.
These provinces produce yearly several-thousand kiloliters of bean-milk and sour bean-milk and other bean-foodstuffs to provide them to children and pupils every day. Though the country is undergoing economic difficulties owing to the moves of the imperialists to isolate and stifle it, the government has done its best to normalize the supply of bean-milk.
Relevant measures have been taken to ensure raw materials and electricity needed for the production.
Leader Kim Jong Il visited the Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory on July 8, Juche 90 (2001) and said that large quantities of tasty and nutritive foodstuffs including bean-milk should be turned out to supply them to children.
