Kim Jong Il Greets Russian President

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, Sunday sent a message of greetings to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of Russia, on the occasion of its national day. Kim Jong Il in his message extended warm congratulations to Putin, the Russian government and people on the occasion of the national day of Russia.
    The message expressed the belief that the traditional friendly relations between the DPRK and Russia would continue to grow stronger in various fields in conformity with the desire and fundamental interests of the peoples of the two countries in the future, too.
    The message sincerely wished the Russian president greater success in his noble work for the social stability and prosperity of the country and the friendly Russian people well-being.

U.S. Criminal Moves to Scuttle Festival for Reunification

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- 15 U.S. Stealth fighter bombers and 250 maintenance personnel flew into south Korea just before the grand festival for national reunification to be held in Pyongyang on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the historic June 15 joint declaration. In this regard Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a signed commentary terms it a deliberate and premeditated move to scuttle the grand festival for reunification to be held by the Koreans themselves as it is driving the situation of the Korean Peninsula strained owing to the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. to the brink of war.
    It is by no means the first time that the U.S. is scheming to deliberately aggravate the situation of the Korean Peninsula in a bid to arrest the movement of the Korean nation for independent reunification, the commentary says, and goes on:
    It is the invariable ambition of the U.S. to dominate the Korean nation, keeping it divided into two forever.
    The U.S. is not pleased with reconciliation, unity and reunification of the north and the south of Korea. It is left with no means untried to block them.
    Over the last five years a dark cloud of nuclear war has been constantly hanging over the Korean peninsula due to the U.S. imperialist moves. And more than once multifaceted dialogues between the north and the south have been suspended and cooperation and exchange between them undergone difficulties.
    The U.S. would be well advised to clearly understand that no matter how viciously the outside forces may pose a war threat, the Korean nation will successfully hold the grand festival for reunification and continue to dynamically advance the movement for independent reunification under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration.

U.S. Undisguised Move to Chill Koreans' Desire for Reunification under Fire

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- 15 F-117 Stealth fighter bombers and at least 250 U.S. air force personnel have been deployed in the U.S. air force base in Kunsan, south Korea, allegedly to test the capability to conduct operations under diverse climatic and topographical conditions, the U.S. forces command in south Korea disclosed a few days ago. In the meantime, the U.S. officially confirmed that it would supplement and reinforce "CONPLAN 5029", a scenario for a war against the DPRK that has been worked out under the pretext of coping with the "contingency on the Korean Peninsula".
    Commenting on this, Minju Joson Sunday says:
    The U.S. has taken a series of military steps to create tension and strain the situation at a time when various political parties, organizations and many figures from all walks of life in the north and the south of Korea and abroad have turned out to grandly commemorate the 5th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. This can not be interpreted otherwise than an attempt to quell the spirit of the declaration, put the brake on its implementation and chill the Korean nation's growing desire for reunification.
    The U.S. was keen on anti-peace and anti-reunification actions whenever inter-Korean contacts were made and the nation's desire for reunification surged. Since the publication of the declaration, in particular, it has conducted those acts with added arrogance and ferocity.
    It has worked hard overtly and covertly to stem the trend towards national reconciliation and reunification, displeased with the inter-Korean relations that have improved in the spirit of the joint declaration. This is an unpardonable criminal act. No one is entitled to say this or that about the joint declaration reflecting the Korean nation's will and desire for reunification and interfere in the issue of Korea's reunification, its internal issue.
    The U.S. should face up to the trend of the times, refrain from doing acts obstructive to the Koreans' efforts to achieve independent reunification and improve the north-south relations and stop its moves against peace and reunification.

S. Korean Woman Killed by U.S. Military Truck

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- A U.S. military truck reportedly ran over a south Korean woman surnamed Kim, in her fifties, on June 10, killing her on the spot. This tragedy took place just a few days before the anniversary of murder of Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, young schoolgirls, by a U.S. forces armored car. At around 2 p.m. that day the woman was pulling a barrow across an intersection of Phyonghwa Road, Saengyon-dong, Tongduchon City, Kyonggi Province while the military truck and other vehicles were waiting for the traffic signal.
    As soon as the green signal appeared, the military truck ran over her, killing her instantly.
    This was not just a simple traffic accident but another deliberate murder case committed by the U.S. forces in south Korea.
    U.S. soldiers' evermore frequent man-killing in south Korea is touching off its people's towering indignation and their fierce anti-U.S. actions.

Police Crackdown Campaign Condemned in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- The People's Solidarity, the Reunification Solidarity and others of south Korea reportedly called a press conference on June 7 and assailed police crackdown. At the press conference, Permanent Representative Jong Kwang Hun and Executive Chairman Pak Sok Un of the People's Solidarity and other speakers said that the police authorities illegally arrested participants in a rally for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops which was held in front of the Patriot missile base of the U.S. forces in Songjong-ri, Kwangju, on May 15 and made an indiscriminate assault on participants in a rally and demonstration for peace against war held in Seoul on May 29.
    Expressing indignation at the arrest of Ri Sang Bom, chairman of the Student Council of Hanyang University of the Democratic Workers' Party, by the security investigation corps under the Seoul Police Office on June 4, they denounced the police rackdown as a typical witch-hunt style suppression trampling down the human rights of innocent people. Paying attention to the fact that police crackdown is exerted only on those related to the struggle against the U.S. forces, they demanded an immediate stop to the arrest of those participating in the anti-U.S. struggle and a probe into the truth behind the illegal assault.
    A petition was read out at the press conference and it was presented to the Human Rights Commission of south Korea.

All Koreans Urged to Remain True to June 15 Joint Declaration

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- The inter-Korean relations over the last five years have been characterized by the Koreans' adherence and implementation of the June 15 joint declaration reflecting their desire for peaceful reunification. The reality proves that the joint declaration serves as a banner for protecting peace from a war as it ensures peace on the Korean Peninsula and promotes reconciliation and peaceful reunification of the north and the south, while helping check the provocative moves of foreign forces for a war of aggression. Rodong Sinmun Sunday observes this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
    The joint declaration set out the most correct principle for the realization of the peaceful reunification and indicated ways common to the Korean nation to achieve peaceful reunification.
    The joint declaration made it clear that the issue of the reunification of the country should be solved by the Koreans responsible for it independently through their concerted efforts, thus laying down "By our nation itself" as the common idea of reunification.
    The idea of "By our nation itself" guides the Koreans to reject the foreign forces' attempt at confrontation and war, pool their strength and realize cooperation in their efforts to achieve peace and peaceful reunification and thus makes it possible to prevent a war on the peninsula and achieve lasting peace and peaceful reunification.
    The joint declaration also stated that the north and the south would achieve the balanced development of the national economy through economic cooperation and revitalize cooperation and exchange in social, cultural, sports, health, environmental and other fields to deepen mutual confidence.
    It thus converted the inter-Korean relations of confrontation and hostility into those of reconciliation and cooperation and laid a common groundwork for accelerating the process of the peaceful reunification of the north and the south.
    It is a vital task of the Korean nation for defending peace on the Korean Peninsula and achieving the peaceful reunification to remain true to the June 15 joint declaration and implement it to the letter.

Rodong Sinmun on Danger of Tightened U.S.-Japan "Security System"

    Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today carries a signed article disclosing the danger of the moves to strengthen the U.S.-Japan "security system". The United States and Japan talk about "peace" and "detente" but, in actuality, do not hope for peace, the article notes, and says:
    Tightening their military tie-up, they seek to establish a new framework for their "security system" under the pretext of "threat of terrorism" and "threat of WMD."
    The U.S. calculates that the "security system" may be used as leverage for making its way into the Asian market with ease. In the meantime, it seeks to cover up the pending trade dispute, etc. with the veil of tightened "security system" in a bid to prevent Japan's "breakaway" from the U.S. Japan, too, has an axe to grind. By having dispatched troops of its "Self-Defense Forces" to Iraq and other countries, it seeks to accelerate its overseas aggression with the backing of the U.S. For the present, it is keen to expand the scope of the overseas dispatch of SDF, step up its nuclear weaponization and the establishment of MD under the signboard of tightened "security system" with the U.S. Meanwhile, it is working hard to get a permanent seat on the UN Security Council with the U.S. support in a bid to emerge a political power, the article says, adding that the above-said moves for tightened "security system" are of very dangerous nature.
    It further says:
    The danger lies in that such moves constitute a factor of rendering the situation in and around the Korean Peninsula more strained and are seriously threatening and wrecking the global peace and stability. The U.S. and Japanese reactionaries should clearly know that their tightened "security system" will get them nowhere.

Papers Observe National Day of Russia

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang-based papers Sunday devote signed articles to the national day of the Russian Federation. On the Day of Russia the Korean people extend friendly greetings to the Russian people, says Rodong Sinmun.
    Today the Russian people celebrating the national day are renewing their will to defend the security of the country and the national interests and speed up the building of powerful Russia by inheriting the tradition of the great victory in the war, the paper notes, and goes on:
    Russia is now directing its efforts to increasing the national defence capacity. In order to protect the security of the country and the national interests it is necessary to build dependable military potential. This is the stand of Russia.
    The move to bolster the national defence capacity in Russia is a just step taken by it to protect the security and interests of the country from the threat of foreign forces. It is the hope of the Korean people that the Russian people's work to build a powerful state will go on well.
    Today the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Russia are developing on good terms in conformity with the aspiration and interests of the two peoples. The long-standing traditional friendship between the DPRK and Russia will grow stronger thanks to the joint efforts of both sides.

Greetings to Russian President

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Saturday sent a message of greetings to Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on the occasion of the national day of the Russian Federation. Kim in the message expressed conviction that the long-standing bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation would grow in scope and strength in all fields on the basis of the new inter-state treaty and wished the president greater success in his responsible work for the socio-political stability and sustainable economic growth of the country.

Russian Embassy Officials Lay Wreath before Liberation Tower

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Staff members of the Russian embassy here laid a wreath before the Liberation Tower Sunday on the occasion of the national day of the Russian Federation. Guards of honor of the Korean People's Army lined up before the tower.
    Among the participants were Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov and embassy officials, foreign guests staying in the DPRK and diplomatic envoys.
    Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music the participants placed a wreath in the name of the Russian embassy before paying a silent tribute to the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army.
    They looked round the tower.
    They went to the cemetery of the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Sadong District, Pyongyang, to lay a wreath and bouquets.
    Prior to it, bouquets were also placed before liberation towers, towers for the memory of the Soviet Army and statues of Soviet soldiers in Sinuiju, Wonsan, Nampho and other local districts.

Greetings to Russian Prime Minister

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, sent a message of greetings to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Yefimovich Fradkov on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Russian national day. The message expressed the conviction that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would grow stronger in different fields and wished the prime minister success in his responsible work for the sustained progress of the economy.
    Meanwhile, DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun sent a similar message to his Russian counterpart Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov on the same occasion.

Kim Jong Il Enjoys Light Comedy

     Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, watched together with servicepersons "Life", a light comedy recently produced by the April 25 Feature Film Studio of the KPA. Appreciating the comedy with him were KPA Chief of the General Staff Kim Yong Chun and Minister of the People's Armed Forces Kim Il Chol, who are members of the NDC, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee Kim Kuk Thae and Kim Ki Nam and other senior party and army officials, and officials of literary and art and media institutions.
    "Life" is based on the theme of collectivism being fully displayed by the servicepersons and people.
    Through the comedy, artistes truthfully represented the real picture of the large socialist family in which all the people enjoy an independent and creative life to the full, helping and leading each other forward, single-mindedly united around the headquarters of the revolution. They also philosophically proved truth that collectivism, which can be displayed only under the best Korean socialist system, precisely means the might of the unity and represents the life and soul of the Korean people.
    The performers successfully represented the Korean army and people's militant spirit and rock-firm faith and will to increase the might of the single-minded unity in every way and thus devotedly defend with arms the headquarters of the revolution and the Korean socialist system centered on the popular masses.

Marathon for Reunification Held in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A marathon for reunification marking the 5th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration was reportedly held in Jonju on June 5 under the sponsorship of the North Jolla Provincial Headquarters of the South Preparatory Committee for Joint Functions of Koreans in the South and the North and Overseas to Implement the June 15 Joint Declaration. Present there were Han Sang Ryol, joint representative of the South Preparatory Committee, and advisers and permanent representatives of the headquarters.
    Ri Kang Sil, permanent representative chairperson of the headquarters, made an opening speech on the occasion. At the end of a ceremony of expressing the desire for peace and reunification, marathon runners from all walks of life energetically covered the 6.15 km course, renewing their determination to achieve the reunification.
    A fine art exhibition and an art performance also took place in the venue of the function.
    At the end of the function, its participants played a reunification train game, expressing their fixed will to achieve the great unity of the nation for reunification.

Seminars Held in Russia and Nigeria

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A seminar on leader Kim Jong Il's famous works was held on May 31 by the Russian Youth Association for the Study of the Songun Politics and a seminar on the theme of "Songun Politics of the DPRK" was held by the Nigerian Group for the Study of the Juche Philosophy on June 1 on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of his start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Mikhail Panchenko, chairman of the Russian association, explained in detail the leader's work "Giving Priority to Ideological Work Is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism" and praised the greatness of his ideas and theories and his immortal feats performed in the building of the Party.
    Andrei Dmitriev, secretary for science of the Russian association, referred to the main contents of the leader's work "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction." He stressed that Kim Jong Il has wisely led the WPK and people in their socialist construction and in their efforts to achieve national reunification.
    Aba Sadik Abubakr, chairman of the Nigerian group, said in his report at the seminar that the Songun politics has made it possible for the DPRK to emerge a military power with strong military muscle. Noting that Kim Jong Il has pursued the policy of giving priority to the military affairs to augment the military capability, he said this can be praised as the wisest step in the present world where the weak is bound to be swallowed up by the strong.
    He continued: The Songun politics calls for strengthening the army to defend the country and dynamically pushing forward the overall socialist cause with the army as a main force. The DPRK, therefore, is called "country that enforces the Songun politics" and world people are stunned by its might and vitality.
    The seminar held in Russia adopted a message of greetings to Kim Jong Il.

U.S. Apology and Compensation Demanded

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists deserve to be condemned by the world people for engineering the massacre of participants in the Kwangju Popular Uprising and must apologize and compensate to the bereaved families of the martyrs. Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Swiss Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, said this in his solidarity letter sent to the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front on May 23 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising. He noted in his letter that the heroic Kwangju Popular Uprising on May 18, 1980 was a great resistance that raged in south Korea against the colonial rule of the U.S. imperialists.
    The participants in the uprising killed by the military fascists of south Korea under the patronage of the U.S. imperialist occupiers are always remembered as martyrs of the great Korean people, he stressed, and continued:
    All the Korean people in the north and the south and overseas will achieve the reunification of the country and drive the U.S. imperialist aggressors out of south Korea before long under the ever-victorious banner of Songun provided by leader Kim Jong Il.

Preparatory Committee for Function in DPRK Formed in U.S.

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A preparatory committee for the "Meeting Praising the Great Persons of Mt. Paektu" was inaugurated in the United States on May 30. John Paul Cupp, chairman of the U.S. Group for the Study of Songun Politics, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.
    The preparatory committee decided to make every possible effort to widely introduce the greatness of the three generals of Mt. Paektu and the Songun politics of the DPRK among American adherents to the Songun politics as part of its activities for expressing solidarity with Korea of Songun.

More Animals at Central Zoo

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Many animals recently bred their young at the Central Zoo. Among them are animals from different regions of the world as well as Korea.
    Lions, lynxes, raccoon dogs and many other animals bred their young one after another, whose number is at least 100 of over 20 kinds.
    Particularly, ornamental pigeons and chickens sent by leader Kim Jong Il in February this year have propagated, pleasing visitors.
    There are many pregnant animals and brooding birds at the zoo now in a breeding season.
    The zoo is turning into a famous zoo.

Amendment of SOFA Demanded in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration of the south Korean Federation of University Students in the 21st Century (Handaeryon) reportedly demanded amendment of the unreasonable and unequal "status of forces agreement" between south Korea and the U.S. in a statement issued on Tuesday three years after the murder of two schoolgirls by GIs. Youth and students and people of south Korea have fought in demand of a total amendment of the unequal agreement, holding candlelight of indignation since the cruel murder of schoolgirls, Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son, by an armored car of the U.S troops on June 13, 2002, the statement said, deploring:
    But the authorities have not taken any measure against the murderous atrocities of GIs and the thrice-cursed murderers are now stalking streets in the U.S.
    The statement called upon the students to hold up candlelight against the U.S. again on the occasion of June 13 commemorating the third memorial service for Hyo Sun and Mi Son.

U.S. Criminal Violations of Human Rights Flailed

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification reportedly denounced the U.S. shameless and criminal violations of human rights in a statement titled "The U.S. has no qualification to talk about 'human rights'" on Tuesday. The statement referred to the fact that the U.S. State Department in a "report on human traffic" on June 3 termed north Korea a human traffic source nation and accused and slandered it once again.
    The U.S. talking about "human rights" is an insult to true human rights, the statement said, exposing that the U.S. is elaborately preparing nuclear weapons and plans for a preemptive attack on the north for a war of aggression on the north and "regime change" and framing up an "issue of human rights in the north" and building up public opinion to justify its aggression.
    The U.S. human rights abuses and wicked purpose can no longer be covered, the statement said, stressing that the U.S. should immediately stop its hostile practices toward the north, which are aiming at aggression and "regime change".

Russian Ambassador Hosts Reception

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Andrei Karlov　hosted a reception Friday evening on the occasion of the national day of the　Russian Federation. Present on invitation were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium　of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Kim Yong Jin, minister of Education,　Kim Sang Ik, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kung Sok Ung,　vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Kim Yong Jae, vice-minister of Foreign　Trade, Hong Son Ok, vice-chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural　Relations with Foreign Countries who is chairwoman of the Korea-Russia　Friendship Association, officials concerned, diplomatic envoys of foreign　countries, staff members of foreign embassies and representatives of　international organizations here.
    On hand were staff members of the Russian embassy.
    Andrei Karlov said in his speech that the mutual visits by Vladimir　Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, and Kim Jong Il,　chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, gave vitality to the　development of cooperation between the two countries.
    Russia and the DPRK are positively cooperating in the international arena　and keeping common stand in many problems, he said, noting that Russia,　calling for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, is keeping the　stand that the nuclear issue and all other problems should be resolved in　conformity with the security and interests of Korea.
    The Korean people's efforts for the reunification of the country, the　supreme desire of the nation, and the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration　are supported by Russia, he said, adding that Russia will positively strive　to develop the relations of cooperation between Russia and the DPRK.
    Yang Hyong Sop said in his speech that Russia recently made achievements in　the work for strengthening defence power, socio-political stability,　economic development and improvement of the people's life.
    He sincerely wished the leadership and the people of Russia a new success　in their future work to build a powerful state and defend the security of　the country and national interests.
    It showed a high level of development of the Korea-Russia relations that　President Putin conferred a commemorative medal of the 60th anniversary of　the victory of the Russian people in the Great Patriotic War upon leader Kim　Jong Il, he said, and stressed:
    We will make all efforts in the future, too, in order that the Korea-Russia　friendly relations may steadily develop in conformity with the desire and　basic interests of the two peoples.

U.S. Censured as Arch Nuclear Criminal

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- What is important for removing the danger of a nuclear war and building a peaceful, new world at present is for the nuclear weapons states, especially the United States which has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world, to take the lead in the nuclear disarmament, observes Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. Slashing at the U.S. delegate's shameless assertion made at the NPT Review Conference that the U.S. has fully honored the treaty, the article discloses its ambition to have a nuclear edge and dominate the world.
    The true colors of the U.S. imperialists as the world's arch nuclear criminal have been fully disclosed when they adopted a preemptive nuclear attack as their main military strategy to dominate the world and put it within the range of their nuclear strike in the wake of the "September 11 Incident", the article notes, and goes on:
    The preamble and Article 10 of the NPT stipulate that the nuclear weapons states should not pose any nuclear threat and use nukes against other countries nor create any emergency of endangering the fundamental interests of a non-nuclear state. And they also commit them to making every possible effort to prevent a nuclear war.
    However, the U.S. has openly pursued the policy of nuclear blackmail in disregard of the requirements and commitments under the NPT. The U.S. bellicose forces' adoption of preemptive nuclear attack as a state policy is the height of their strategy for hegemony and nuclear strategy based on the nuclear-almighty doctrine.
    The U.S. is loudly calling for "non-proliferation" but, in actuality, encourages proliferation. It has conducted nuclear tests more than 20 times since 1997, refusing to ratify the CTBT. It is again the U.S. that has connived at, protected and encouraged its allies' access to nukes. Yet, the U.S. claims that it remains "faithful" to the NPT. How preposterous it is.

Rodong Sinmun on Might of Collectivism

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Saturday editorially calls on the army and the people to rally close around the great headquarters of the revolution under the uplifted slogan "One for all and all for one!" The slogan "One for all and all for one!" can be seen only in the most advantageous socialist system of the DPRK that regards collectivism as its life and soul, the daily says, adding that it is the traditional trait of our society to help and lead each other forward. It continues:
    All the Party members and other working people should more fully display in the general march for Songun revolution the noble traits of collectivist struggle devoting everything to the interests of the country and revolution, society and the collective, believing only in the Workers' Party of Korea and the leader, as they did during the period of the "Arduous March" and the forced march unprecedented in history when they shared even grass gruel with each other to pave the way for the building of a great prosperous powerful nation.
    When the people are firmly equipped with the spirit of collectivism and struggle with united efforts, they have no insurmountable difficulty and no unobtainable fortress. As evidenced by the experience drawn from the period of the "Arduous March" and the forced march, the might we should believe in and depend on is only our own efforts, the might of collectivism in which all the people entrust their destiny and future entirely to the Party and help each other.

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Saturday sent a message of greetings to Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on the occasion of the 107th anniversary of the national day of the Republic of the Philippines. Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would develop on good terms in various fields, the message wished her success in her work for peace and development of the country.

Greetings to British Queen

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Saturday sent a congratulatory message to Elizabeth II, queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on her official birthday. Expressing the belief that the relations between the two countries would grow stronger in the future, the message wished her good health and happiness.

Senegalese Government Delegation Here

     Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A Senegalese government delegation led by Assane Diagne, minister of Urbanization and Territorial Management, arrived here Saturday. It was greeted at the airport by Kung Sok Ung, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and Ju Su Yong, director of the Mansudae Art Studio.
    The DPRK government arranged a reception in honor of the delegation in the evening.

EE.UU. desatiende su deber de reducir armas nucleares

     Pyongyang, 11 de junio (ATCC) -- Lo mas importante para eliminar el peligro de la guerra nuclear y construir un mundo nuevo y pacifico es que tomen la delantera en reducir las armas nucleares los paises poseedores de estas, en particular, EE.UU., cuyo arsenal nuclear es de mayor dimension en el mundo. Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual insertado en su edicion del dia 11 y prosigue:
    Al intervenir en la conferencia de revision de la ejecucion del Tratado de No Proliferacion (TNP), el muy descarado delegado norteamericano dijo que su pais lo ejecuta cabalmente. Pero, EE.UU. abriga la ambicion de tomar la superioridad nuclear y de dominar el mundo.
    En este sentido, tras el "incidente del 11 de septiembre", al definir el golpe preventivo nuclear como su principal estrategia militar para dominar el mundo, coloco a este al alcance de su ataque nuclear. De esta forma, se puso a flote la naturaleza de los imperialistas norteamericanos como peores culpables del orbe en el terreno nuclear.
    Segun el prologo y el articulo 10 del TNP, los paises con armas nucleares deben dejar de amenazar con estas o usarlas contra otros paises, de dar una situacion emergente que ponga en peligro los intereses fundamentales de los paises sin esos artefactos y han de esforzarse en todo lo posible por evitar una guerra nuclear.
    Sin embargo, en claro desprecio a la demanda y la obligacion que le atribuye el tratado, EE.UU. practica abiertamente su politica de chantajear con esas armas. En tal sentido, la refrendacion del golpe preventivo nuclear en una politica estatal resulta el climax de la heguemonia y estrategia nuclear, basadas en la doctrina de todopoderosas armas nucleares.
    Aunque EE.UU. habla muchisimo de la "prevencion de proliferacion nuclear", quien la provoca en realidad es precisamente el Tio Sam. Despues de 1997, realizo mas de 20 experimentos nucleares rehusando a firmar el tratado de prohibicion de pruebas nucleares comprensivas y por otra parte, tolero, amparo y fomento la posesion de armas nucleares por sus paises aliados. Pese a esta verdad, muy absurdamente, EE.UU. dice ser fiel al TNP.
    Pero es bien aguda la optica del mundo, pues sube de tono la voz de denuncia a EE.UU. calificandolo del culpable nuclear.
    EE.UU. debe prestar oidos a la voz de la epoca.

EE.UU.: Comite preparatorio de encuentro de elogio

     Pyongyang, 11 de junio (ATCC) -- En Estados Unidos quedo constituido el 30 de mayo el Comite Preparatorio de "Encuentro de Elogio a los Grandes Hombres del Monte Paektu". Como presidente del comite naciente fue elegido el presidente del Grupo Estadounidense de Estudio de la Politica de Songun (priorizacion militar) John Paul Cupp.
    Como una parte de las actividades de solidaridad con Corea del Songun, el comite decidio hacer todos los esfuerzos por dar a conocer ampliamente a los adeptos norteamericanos al Songun las nobles personalidades de los tres generales del monte Paektu (Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il y Kim Jong Suk) y la politica de Songun de Corea.

A marcha general con poderio del colectivismo, llama Rodong Sinmun

     Pyongyang, 11 de junio (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun publico en su edicion del dia 11 un editorial con acentuacion en que el gigante contingente de militares y civiles, unidos compactamente en torno a la Direccion de la Revolucion, debe luchar tenazmente bajo la consigna "!Uno para todos y todos para uno!". Esta consigna pudo aparecer solo en el mas ventajoso sistema socialista de Corea que toma el colectivismo por su vida, senala el editorial y continua:
    Ayudarse y conducirse mutuamente es un estilo tradicional de nuestra sociedad.
    Al igual que en los periodos de la "marcha penosa" y la forzada, sin precedentes en la historia, cuando allanaban el camino de la construccion de una gran potencia prospera compartiendo alimentos muy escasos, todos los militantes del partido y los trabajadores deben confiar firmemente solo en el partido y el lider y poner en pleno juego en la marcha general de la revolucion del Songun (priorizacion militar) su noble estilo de lucha colectivista consistente en subordinar todo lo suyo a los intereses de la patria, la revolucion, la sociedad y la colectividad.
    No hay dificultad ni fortaleza imposibles de superar y expugnar para el pueblo que lucha unido y armado firmemente con el espiritu colectivista.
    Como demuestran las experiencias de los periodos de la "marcha penosa" y la forzada, la unica fuerza, en que podemos confiar y apoyarnos, es la de nosotros mismos y el poderio del colectivismo, del que dan pruebas todos los habitantes dejando su destino y futuro a merced del partido, ayudandose y apoyandose mutuamente.
    Por esta razon, todos los militantes y trabajadores deben armarse primero con la concepcion de vida colectivista.
    A su vez, todos los sectores y unidades de todo el pais deben avivar furiosamente las llamas de innovacion con el poderio del heroismo masivo de ayudarse y conducirse mutuamente y frustrar por completo las virulentas maniobras de penetracion ideo-cultural de los imperialistas norteamericanos y sus satelites.
