Japan's Criminal Participation in Last Korean War under Fire

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article lays bare Japan's zealous participation in the last Korean war. The article says:
    No sooner had the U.S. imperialists started a war of aggression against the young DPRK than Shigeru Yoshida, the then boss of the Japanese militarists, convened the socalled cabinet meeting which adopted it as its government policy to actively cooperate with the U.S. forces in their military actions in Korea. Pursuant to this policy, Japan directly dispatched its forces to the Korean front in a concealed manner.
    As soon as former officers of the imperial Japanese army arrived in Korea, they acted "advisers" and "military experts" as staff members at units of various services and arms of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces. They, at the same time, played the role of scouts after joining reconnoitering and search teams or while taking a direct part in offensive operations from the forefront.
    The Japanese militarists sent former airmen of the imperial Japanese army including Kamikaze pilots to the Korean front to assist the U.S. forces in airlifting operations. A hundred percent of the mine sweepers and mine sweeping forces of Japan were dispatched to the front in top secrecy.
    They took an active part in the U.S. imperialists' germ warfare.
    Air force bases in the Japanese archipelago from Hokkaido to Kyushu and naval ports including those in Yokosuka, Sasebo, Kure and Maizuru and various trading ports in Yokohama, Kobe and other areas turned into ports for a military purpose so as to enable the U.S. imperialists to use them in the war.
    Japan produced most of the war supplies including weaponry, combat and technical equipment and ammunition and provided them to the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces. During the war Japan manufactured or repaired various kinds of military materiel on their "special orders" worth more than 2.5 billion U.S. dollars.
    Japan can never conceal or justify its criminal participation in the last Korean war because this doubled the crimes it committed against the Koreans by invading their country.
    Its aggressive nature still remains unchanged. The Japanese militarists seized by their wild ambition for overseas aggression are whetting their swords to stage a comeback to Korea, zealously pursuant to the U.S. imperialists' policy of aggression against the DPRK.
    Should the Japanese militarist forces, the sworn enemy of the Korean people, embark upon the re-invasion of Korea, the servicepersons and people of the DPRK will surely force them to pay for the blood shed by them for a century.

Printing Shop of Chosun Ilbo Torched

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- A south Korean surnamed An residing in Sihung, Kyonggi Province, set fire to the printing shop of the daily Chosun Ilbo on June 17, according to the south Korean KBS. An was reported to have asserted that the pro-Japanese and treacherous newspaper Chosun Ilbo should cease to exist. That day he set fire to a heap of waste paper in the printing shop in Kasan-dong, Kumchon District in Seoul, in token of protest.
    He formed the organization called the group to force Chosun Ilbo to cease its publication last March and has since carried on the actions against the treacherous reptile daily, the report said.

Yemeni Prime Minister Meets DPRK Government Economic Delegation

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Prime Minister of the Yemeni Cabinet Abdul Kader Ba-Jammal met and had a friendly talk with the DPRK government economic delegation headed by Minister of Foreign Trade Rim Kyong Man on a visit to Yemen. Present there were Yemeni Minister of Industry and Commerce Khalid Rajeh Sheikh and officials concerned.

Stop to Meeting of S. Korea-U.S. "Joint Security Policy Initiative Council" Demanded

     Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea reportedly held a news conference on June 22 in front of the building of the Ministry of National Defense at which it demanded a stop to the south Korea-U.S. "Joint Security Policy Initiative Council". Speakers there charged that the third meeting of the council underway in the U.S. was aimed at providing preconditions for guaranteeing the U.S. forces' permanent presence in south Korea and the fulfillment of such new tasks as their "strategic flexibility" and the moves to boost aggressive "regional alliance".
    Recalling that the meeting decided to set "phases of south-north relations," they said this clearly revealed the U.S. intention to retain its supremacy on the Korean Peninsula even after its reunification.
    Referring to the fact that the meeting discussed such issues as an examination of transfer of U.S. military bases and shift of military missions, they held that this was intended to ensure the "strategic flexibility" of the U.S. forces in south Korea.
    South Korea and the U.S. had no option but to unilaterally open the meeting in camera quite contrary to the will of the south Korean people because they admit themselves the fact that the U.S. demands are so unreasonable and an encroachment upon the interests of the Korean nation, they noted, demanding an immediate end to the meeting.
    A press release was adopted at the conference and handed to the chief of the Policy Office of the Ministry of National Defense.

RS. Calls for Defending National Sovereignty and Peace under Banner of Songun

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Saturday calls upon all the people to wage a more vigorous struggle to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the county and the people and achieve national reunification under the banner of great Songun. The paper carries an editorial 55 years after the United States unleashed a war of aggression against the DPRK.
    The editorial goes on:
    More than a half century has passed since the cease-fire. However, the threat of the foreign forces to stifle the DPRK by force of arms is reaching a dangerous stage as the days go by and, owing to this, inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation and the movement for independent reunification have undergone difficulties and all the Koreans are exposed to the danger of sustaining an irretrievable disaster of a nuclear war.
    Now that the danger of a new war is impending over the Korean Peninsula, it is high time for the Koreans to wage a nation-wide struggle to prevent the war of aggression and defend national dignity and peace of the country.
    We should arm ourselves more firmly with the Songun idea of the Workers' Party of Korea and uphold the Songun politics.
    The Songun politics is a treasured sword of sure victory for preventing aggression and defending national dignity and sovereignty and a shield of patriotism for firmly guaranteeing the peace of the country and the security of the whole nation.
    All the fellow countrymen should support, defend and uphold the Songun politics in one mind of patriotism, bearing the absolute conviction that national dignity and the peace and reunification of the country are guaranteed by Songun,
    It is an important task for the Korean nation to wage a vigorous nationwide anti-aggression and anti-war struggle.
    All the Koreans should flare up the flame of the just anti-aggression and anti-war struggle with their transparent consciousness of independence against the foreign forces and their will for peace against war. They should resolutely reject the arms buildup moves and war drills against the north of those forces who do not want the peace and reunification of Korea but pursue a war. They should wage a vigorous nation-wide struggle to force the U. S. troops out of south Korea.
    We should conduct a vigorous struggle to implement the historic June 15 joint declaration and achieve national reunification.
    All the Koreans should hold higher the idea of "By our nation itself" despite difficulties and trials and actively apply it to defending peace against the outside forces and to striving for independent reunification.

Korean War of Aggression Carefully Prepared by U.S.

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists are the sworn enemy of the Korean people as they provoked the war of aggression against the DPRK in the 1950s, inflicting unspeakable misfortune and disasters upon the Koreans, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in a signed article. It continues:
    The U.S. imperialists acted the fool in a bid to mislead the world public opinion by giving impression that the DPRK was to blame for the outbreak of the war. The last Korean war was a war of aggression carefully prepared by them.
    They instigated the south Korean forces to conduct armed provocations in areas north of the 38th parallel since 1947 in order to examine their war posture and bolster their capacity to fight an actual war.
    The U.S. dispatched presidential special envoy Dulles, Defence Secretary Johnson and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Bradley and others to south Korea and Tokyo under the signboard of discussing issues related to "peace treaty" with a view to examining the war preparations on the spot and taking necessary measures.
    The U.S. set June 25 as the day to start the war from the calculation that, it being Sunday, no one would believe the U.S. and south Korea would launch the war on Sunday because Christians in both countries did not work on the Sabbath. This was aimed to cover up their true colors as a provoker of the war. Based on the detailed operation plan worked out in advance and meticulous military preparations for the war, the U.S. imperialists started attacks against the DPRK on the whole front all of a sudden at the dawn of June 25, 1950. At the same time, the U.S. ordered its air force to carry out large-scale air raids on the front and all areas of the northern half of Korea. The Korean war was a war of barbarous genocide aimed to exterminate the Korean nation and wreck peace.
    The U.S. crimes against peace and humanity will be cursed and censured by history and human conscience generation after generation.

Anti-U.S. Actions Called for

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- The vice-chairman of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front Friday made public a statement, 55 years after the U.S. imperialists provoked a war of aggression against the DPRK, according to Kuguk Jonson Internet site. For the fellow countrymen the June 25 war was a just fatherland liberation war to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the nation, the statement noted, adding that President Kim Il Sung brought about the beginning of decline for the U.S. with his far-sighted strategy and outstanding leadership.
    The present situation calls on all the south Koreans to turn out as one in the struggle to smash the U.S. moves to provoke a new war, the statement noted, and went on: The withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea is the main target of the struggle against the U.S. and war and an urgent demand of the times.
    All the south Koreans should wage a more dynamic struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces throughout south Korea to make this year, which marks the 60th year after the U.S. forces' occupation of it, a year of their withdrawal and put an end to the more than a century-long foreign domination and interference.
    They should bear deep in mind that the members of the nation can exist and they can achieve peace and the reunification of the country only when they follow the Songun policy of leader Kim Jong Il, the sun of the 21st century, and positively support and uphold his great Songun policy with ardent patriotism.
    Our people will resolutely check and frustrate the U.S. moves to unleash a new war by the concerted efforts of all the Koreans under the uplifted banner of three forms of cooperation for national independence, peace against war and reunification and patriotism and thus defend the peace of the country and surely achieve the historic cause of independent reunification.

Russian Diplomats Help Korean Peasants

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Ambassador Andrei Karlov and staff members of the Russian embassy here on June 24 gave helping hands to the DPRK-Russia Friendship Kochang Co-op Farm associated with leadership feats of President Kim Il Sung in Chollima County of South Phyongan Province. The guests helped peasants in harvesting vegetables.
    During a break, they appreciated an art performance given by peasants and schoolchildren. And they sang songs and conversed with them, deepening friendly feelings.
    The ambassador said this year the DPRK singled out the agricultural front as a main front and has focused all efforts on it, wishing the peasants greater success in the agricultural production this significant year which marks the 60th anniversaries of the Workers' Party of Korea and Korea's liberation.
    That day the guests handed aid materials to the farm.

Booklet on Comradeship of Kim Jong Il Published in Italy

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- The Group of Dialectical Materialists and Atheists of Italy published the booklet "Kim Jong Il, 40 Odd Years of His Comradeship" on June 15 on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. The booklet said: Kim Jong Il has performed great feats over the last four decades and these feats are based on his comradeship. He was present at the operation on an official to save him from the jaws of death. He made sure that the remains of dead officials were moved to the martyrs' cemetery.
    Recalling that he visited units of the Korean People's Army, factories, farms, schools and dwelling houses to show comradeship for ordinary people, the booklet stressed that thanks to his comradeship all the members of the society are united closely and the Korean people have emerged victorious in the struggle to defend socialism.

End to U.S. Military Presence in S. Korea Demanded

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea sent a solidarity letter to the Pyongyang Mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front in the joint name on June 15, three years after two schoolgirls were killed by U.S. soldiers in south Korea. Recalling that three years have passed since the innocent schoolgirls Sin Hyo Sun and Sim Mi Son were murdered by the U.S. imperialist aggressors, the letter held that the killers should be punished and the south Koreans should take revenge upon U.S. imperialists.
    Noting that they were greatly shocked to hear that recently a south Korean woman was murdered by the U.S. forces in Tongduchon, Kyonggi Province of south Korea, the letter said that the incident proves once again that the U.S. imperialists are, indeed, the sworn enemy of the Korean people and the world people.
    The U.S. imperialists' presence in south Korea has caused great human and material losses to the south Korean people, the letter noted, demanding an immediate end to their presence and voicing positive support to the Korean people in their struggle for their pullout.

Kim Jong Il Praised by Foreign Politicians

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held in Mexico on June 16 to celebrate the 41st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Displayed in its venue were photos showing the Songun leadership feats of Kim Jong Il.
    An executive member of the Mexico City Committee of the Workers' Party of Mexico in a speech said that the proud history of the WPK would be unthinkable without the leadership of Kim Jong Il, adding that the WPK will demonstrate its dignity as the eternal party of President Kim Il Sung as it is led by Kim Jong Il.
    A lecture was given by the Peruvian Communist Party and a seminar held by the New Left Movement of Peru on June 14 and 16.
    Lenan Raffo Munoz, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Peruvian Communist Party, in the lecture noted that Kim Jong Il has strengthened and developed the WPK into a party which holds responsible for the political integrity of all the people and helps them always glorify their destiny and worked many new world-startling miracles by thoroughly establishing the Party's leadership over all the fields of the revolution and construction.
    The international secretary of the New Left Movement of Peru in a speech referred to the fact that the WPK has been developed into an invincible party as it fully realized its ideological purity and unity under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il, adding that the WPK would remain an ever-victorious party in the future, too.

Japan Unrepentant of Its Past Crimes under Fire in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- South Korean youth and student organizations on June 20 reportedly denounced Japan for evading sincere apology for and reflection on its past crimes and zealously toeing the U.S. hostile policy towards the north. The Solidarity of Youth and Students for Implementing the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration in a statement accused the Japanese chief executive of dodging clarifying the will to reflect on the history of Japan at the "talks" with his south Korean counterpart. It termed this another deceptive trick to cover up Japan's undisguised ambition for the revival of militarism and deceive the Korean people.
    The Korean people will no longer remain a passive onlooker to the reckless behavior of Japan, the statement warned, demanding Japan lend an ear to the just voices of the Korean people urging it to redress its past crimes, apologize for them and stop going reckless.
    The south Korean Students Federation for the 21st Century in a statement strongly condemned the Japanese chief executive for his reckless remarks intended to continue visiting the Yasukuni Shrine, far from making any apology for having seriously hurt the self-respect of the Korean nation with a string of balderdash about Tok Islet and through the moves to distort the history and taking any measure against their repetition.
    What is more serious is that Japan is working hard to revise even the "pacifist constitution" without discarding its aggressive nature, the statement pointed out. It is quite ridiculous for such country to make a bid for permanent membership of the UNSC. The Society of Youths Loving Reunification in a statement denounced Japan for acting a servant of the U.S., far from honestly apologizing for and reflecting on its past crimes. It called upon the youth and students to take the lead in the struggle to smash the moves of the U.S. and Japan to violate the sovereignty of the country by the concerted efforts of the Koreans.

Nullification of Humiliating Agreement on Rice Demanded

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification on June 20 reportedly made public a statement urging the south Korean authorities to totally annul the negotiations on rice including the "backstage agreement" and make positive efforts to save agriculture. Referring to the fact that that day peasants throughout south Korea simultaneously staged a general strike demanding the negotiations on rice be nullified and the National Assembly's ratification of what was agreed upon there be blocked, the statement held the government chiefly accountable for giving rise to the large-scale general strike of peasants.
    There is no one among the south Koreans who would recognize the negotiations on rice, the statement said, demanding the government take immediate measures to protect the food sovereignty of the nation, standing firm against the U.S. shameless pressure to open the agricultural market and its move to bring agriculture to a collapse.
    The south Korean Federation of the Poor made public a statement on June 21 in support of the general strike of peasants against the authorities' negotiations on opening of the rice market.

Defending Peace against War Called for

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Struggle for peace against war is the foremost task of the Korean nation for security of the nation which had already undergone the holocaust of a war in the past century and has been constantly under the danger of war for decades century after century. Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a signed article.
    As the U.S. moves for a nuclear war against the north are getting more undisguised as the days go by, military tension is coiling up in the Korean Peninsula and the dangerous situation under which a nuclear war may break out any time is prevailing, the article says, and goes on:
    A touch-and-go situation has been prevailing in the Korean Peninsula for decades owing to the U.S. war policy for invasion of Korea. Such a long-standing touch-and-go situation can never be seen in other part of the world.
    If a war breaks out in the Korean Peninsula, it will certainly turn into a nuclear war and the existence of the Korean nation will be endangered.
    It is an important task for national reconciliation and cooperation and independent reunification to prevent war and preserve peace.
    It is impossible to advance the June 15 reunification era and achieve national harmony and peaceful reunification without creating a peaceful environment free from the danger of war. Whenever inter-Korean relations developed and the situation turned in favor of reunification, the U.S. has deliberately rendered the situation strained and driven it to the brink of war to block peace of Korea and the unity and reunification of the Korean nation.
    All the Koreans in the north and the south and overseas should set it as the foremost task to defend peace against war and turn out as one in the struggle for security of the Korean nation and reunification of the country.
    There can be no difference of factions, political views, classes, strata, the ins and the outs in the patriotic national struggle to foil the moves of the foreign forces for a war of aggression and defend the peace of the country at the present time when the danger of a nuclear war is befalling to the nation. All the fellow countrymen should turn out in the struggle to decisively check and frustrate the U.S. war provocation moves and drive the U.S. troops, the root cause of war, out of south Korea.

Greetings to Madagascan President

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Thursday sent a message of greetings to Madagascan President Marc Ravalomanana on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the independence of Madagascar. Expressing the belief that the friendly relations between the two countries would continue to grow stronger, the message sincerely wished the president and the people of Madagascar greater successes in their efforts for the prosperity and development of the country.

Greetings to Mozambican President

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Saturday sent a message of greetings to Mozambican President Armando Emilio Guebuza on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the independence of Mozambique. The Korean people, the message said, are very rejoiced over the great achievements made by the Mozambican people in their work to achieve stability, peace and socio-economic development of the country in 30 years after the independence.
    Expressing the belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries would further develop in the mutual interests of the two peoples, the message sincerely wished the president greater success in his responsible work for the prosperity of the country.

Agreements between DPRK and Yemeni Governments

     Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- An agreement on trade and economic cooperation and an agreement on encouraging and protecting investment were inked in Sana between the governments of the DPRK and Yemen. Present at the signing ceremonies from the DPRK side were members of a DPRK government economic delegation led by Minister of Foreign Trade Rim Kyong Man and from the Yemeni side Minister of Industry and Commerce Khalid Rajeh Sheikh, Director of the General Bureau for Investment Abdul Karim and officials concerned.
    The agreements were signed by Rim Kyong Man, Khalid Rajeh Sheikh and Abdul Karim.

El PTC es invencible guiado por el Dirigente Kim Jong Il

     Pyongyang, 25 de junio (ATCC) -- Con motivo del 41 aniversario del inicio del trabajo del Dirigente Kim Jong Il en el Comite Central del Partido del Trabajo de Corea tuvo lugar el dia 16 en Mexico un acto conmemorativo. En el lugar estaban exhibidas las fotos alusivas a las hazanas de direccion del Dirigente mediante el Songun (priorizacion militar).
    Victor Cruz, miembro ejecutivo del Comite de la Ciudad de Mexico del Partido del Trabajo de Mexico senalo que no se puede concebir la gloriosa historia del PTC al margen de la direccion del camarada Kim Jong Il y subrayo que al disfrutar de su orientacion el PTC exaltara eternamente su dignidad de partido del Presidente Kim Il Sung.
    Por otra parte el Partido Comunista del Peru y el Movimiento Peruano de Nueva Izquierda ofrecieron los dias 14 y 16 conferencia y simposio, respectivamente.
