Floral Baskets to Korean Embassies

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- The People's Party of Cambodia, the FUNCINPEC Party of Cambodia, the Khmer Democratic Party of Cambodia and the United Malays National Organization of Malaysia sent floral baskets to Korean embassies in their countries on June 17 and 20 in honor of the 41st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Start of Work at C.C., WPK Observed

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Photo exhibitions and film shows were held at the DPRK embassies in Bangladesh, Cambodia and the Czech Republic from June 13 to 21 on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. On display in the venue of the functions were photos showing the leadership exploits of Kim Jong Il in pursuing Songun politics and achievements of the Korean people in the work for building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation.
    Screened at the film shows were the Korean films "The Brilliant History of Great Leadership" and "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il Gives On-the-spot Guidance to Different Fields".
    Mujahidul Islam Selim, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Bangladesh Communist Party, said in his speeches at functions that the WPK has led the Korean revolution to victory in the teeth of complicated and difficult circumstances hither-to-unknown, true to Songun politics of Kim Jong Il, and expressed the belief that it would always emerge victorious as it is led by him.
    A member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the People's Party of Cambodia, addressed the photo exhibition and the film show. The WPK under the wise leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il is the vanguard unit leading the Korean people to victory and happiness, he said, and added: The People's Party of Cambodia hopes that its excellent relations with the WPK which have supported each other for a long period will continue to develop on good terms.
    Present on invitation at the functions were leading officials of the People's Party of Cambodia, the FUNCINPEC Party of Cambodia and the Khmer Democratic Party of Cambodia, the chairman of the Bangladesh preparatory committee for a "meeting for praising the great persons of Mt. Paektu" and members of political parties and organizations concerned.
    The DPRK ambassadors and officials of the DPRK embassies in the appropriate countries were present.

Celebrations Held

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Symposiums were held in Bangladesh and Tajikistan from June 15 to 18 on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. Displayed in the venues of the symposiums were Korean books including Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Workers' Party of Korea is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" and photos showing the exploits of Kim Jong Il in his Songun revolutionary leadership.
    At the symposium co-sponsored by Bangladeshi political parties, speakers said it is entirely thanks to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il who is possessed of outstanding political ability and traits of a great man that the WPK has been able to be ever-victorious in face of all ordeals of history.
    The reporter and speakers at the symposium sponsored by the Bangladesh People's League elaborated on the immortal exploits performed by Kim Jong Il in the building of the Juche-oriented revolutionary party and in its activities while working at the Central Committee of the Party.
    Addressing the symposium sponsored by a regional committee of the Communist Party of Tajikistan, the secretary of its Central Committee and the first secretary of the regional committee said it is one of Kim Jong Il's great exploits to have made the WPK a militant party in which the monolithic leadership system of the President has been firmly established.
    A congratulatory letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the symposium in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, on June 13 a show of the Korean film "Great Leader Guiding the Building of a Great Prosperous Powerful Nation to Victory" and a photo exhibition were held by the Malaysian People's Movement and a lecture under the title "Leader Kim Jong Il possessed of outstanding political ability" and a film show and a photo exhibition took place at the Korea-Nigeria Printing Industry Company.

Declaration for National Reunification Supported in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- The Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration reportedly issued a statement on June 23 in support of the declaration for national reunification adopted at the meeting for national reunification to mark the fifth anniversary of the joint declaration. Recalling that the June 15 grand festival for national reunification was held with splendor amid the expectation and interest of all Koreans despite all sorts of obstructive moves of the U.S. and anti-reunification forces, the statement said that the vitality of the June 15 joint declaration has been proved in practice and "By our nation itself" has become the idea of the whole nation.
    Noting that with the festival as a momentum the Koreans have brought about a new phase in the movement for national reunification, convinced of its bright future, the statement pointed out that the declaration for national reunification, in particular, demonstrated the will of the entire Korean nation to realize the three forms of cooperation for national independence, peace against war and reunification and patriotism and set the targets of future actions, thus providing a new turning point in the movement for national reunification.
    The statement underscored the need for all Koreans to speed up the great national march for independence, peace and reunification this year, which marks the fifth anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration, to demonstrate the might of the nation as clarified in the declaration for national reunification.

U.S. Urged to Give up Wild Ambition to "Bring Down System" of DPRK

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- The top diplomat and other senior officials of the U.S. Department of State are asserting that even if the nuclear issue is settled, the U.S.-DPRK relations cannot be normalized unless such issues as "human rights, terrorism, missile, conventional weapons, drug and counterfeit notes" are resolved. In this regard Rodong Sinmun Monday says in a signed commentary: The U.S. is raising the solution of not only the nuclear issue but other issues as preconditions for normalizing the bilateral relations. This is, in essence, prompted by a dangerous intention to force the DPRK to dismantle its nuclear weapons and, furthermore, bring down its system come what may under various pretexts.
    The U.S. branded the DPRK as part of "an axis of evil" and "an outpost of tyranny" and singled it out as a target of its preemptive nuclear attack, a clear indication that the ultimate goal of the U.S. policy toward the DPRK is to overturn its system.
    It is the height of absurdity for the U.S. to claim that the bilateral relations cannot be normalized unless not only the nuclear issue but "human rights, terrorism and missile" and other issues are settled.
    The normalization of the relations between the DPRK and the U.S. can never come true so long as the latter remains hostile to the DPRK and keen to overthrow the former's system.
    If the U.S. is interested in normalizing the bilateral relations, it should recognize and respect the system in the DPRK and give up its intention to bring it down.
    Though U.S. is talking a lot that it has no hostile intent towards the DPRK and it will not invade it, its actual deeds strongly smack of the intention to bring down the system in the DPRK. Precisely this compels the DPRK to entertain distrust in the U.S. and to be always on its guard against the U.S.
    The U.S. should respect the DPRK and give up its design to bring down its system. This is the solution to the problem.

Koreans' Celebration Concert in New York

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- A concert of Korean residents in the United States was given in New York on June 14 on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration, according to "Minjok Thongsin", U.S. Internet homepage. The colorful program included the violin solo "Nostalgia", the orchestras "Mungyong Pass" and "Rich Harvest Comes to the Chongsan Plain" under the baton of Ri Jun Mu, head of the Uruk Symphony Orchestra, the vocal solos "My Beloved Motherland" and "A Girl Greeting Spring" and the piano concerto "Korea Is One".
    The audience enthusiastically acclaimed the performance overflowing with the unshakable will of the fellow countrymen to achieve national reunification free from outside forces along the road of "By our nation itself" indicated by the June 15 joint declaration, their ardent desire for reunification and national sentiments.
    Appreciating the performance were Koreans in the U.S., music fans, members of the DPRK Permanent Mission in the United Nations and diplomatic representatives from various countries.

Independent Reunification, Nation's Urgent Task

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- It is the supreme historical task of the Korean nation at which its destiny is staked to achieve independent reunification, declares Rodong Sinmun in its article Monday. The author of the article says:
    Outside forces are the very one responsible for the division of Korea and they are the main force standing in the way of its reunification. Hence the reunification of the country can be achieved only by an independent struggle under all circumstances. Dependence on outside forces will only render a still greater depth to national division and confrontation, not to speak of reunification, and will put a tighter noose of subordination around the nation's neck.
    The three charters of national reunification define the principle of independence as the fundamental principle and stand for reunification and thus lay down the principle and ways for the achievement of independent reunification. And the June 15 joint declaration also is a program of independent reunification indicating the way of settling the issue of reunification independently on the basis of the idea of "By our nation itself" with it as the core.
    The reunification of the country is immediately independence for the Korean nation and the struggle for national reunification is a struggle to achieve sovereignty.
    Independent reunification is a historical task of the Korean nation that brooks no further delay.
    It is a tragedy in the nation's history spanning 50 centuries that the Korean nation, a homogeneous nation, remains artificially divided by outside forces. National reunification is utterly infeasible apart from the independent struggle of our nation, its driving force.
    The longer the national division, the greater the infringement upon the sovereignty and interests of the nation. This is beneficial only to outside forces. There is no more urgent task than reunification for the Korean nation. Independent reunification is the call of the nation and demand of history and era.
    The Koreans should answer the call of the country and nation not with words but with a practical action. This is the stand of a patriot for the country and the nation.
    The fellow countrymen in the north, the south and oversea should bring a new turn in the nation-wide struggle for independent reunification, holding as high as ever the banner of "By our nation itself" and thereby add shine to the June 15 era of reunification.

Greetings to President of Djibouti

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, today sent a message of greetings to Ismail Omar Guelleh, president of Djibouti, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of its independence. Expressing the belief that the friendly relations between the DPRK and Djibouti would continue to grow stronger in the mutual interests, the message wished the president success in his responsible work in the future.

Gift to Kim Jong Il from Kuwaiti Delegation

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was presented with a gift by the Kuwait Trade Union Federation. It was handed to Choe Thae Bok, chairman of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, today by Salem S. Al-Ajmi, president of the federation and head of its delegation on a visit to the DPRK.

Congratulations to Iranian President

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, today sent a congratulatory message to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad upon his election as Iranian president. Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations forged between the two countries in the joint struggle for independence against imperialism would continue to grow stronger in the future, too, the message wished the president success in his responsible work to protect the gains of the Islamic revolution and achieve the independent development and prosperity of the country.

Choe Thae Bok Meets Delegation of Kuwait Trade Union Federation

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Chairman of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly Choe Thae Bok met and had a friendly talk with a delegation of the Kuwait Trade Union Federation headed by its President Salem S. Al Ajmi at the Mansudae Assembly Hall today. On hand were Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea Kim Song Chol and officials concerned.
    The head of the delegation said that the people of the DPRK have made achievements in socialist construction under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, overcoming hardships.
    Our visit to the West Sea Barrage and other parts of the country helped us to know well the source of inexhaustible strength of the Korean people, he noted.

Message of Sympathy to Hu Jintao

     Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Monday sent a message of sympathy to Hu Jintao, president of the People's Republic of China, in connection with big human and material losses caused by flood in different areas of China. Extending deep sympathy to the Chinese government and the people in the afflicted areas, the message expressed the belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party and government of China the people in the afflicted areas would remove the aftermath of the disaster as early as possible.

Rodong Sinmun denuncia ambicion de EE.UU. de "derrocar regimen" de RPDC

     Pyongyang, 27 de junio (ATCC) -- Los altos funcionarios del Departamento de Estado norteamericano incluyendo el jefe de la diplomacia de este pais dicen que aunque se resuelva el problema nuclear es imposible realizar la normalizacion de las relaciones diplomaticas entre ambos paises a menos que se resuelvan los "problemas" de "derechos humanos, terrorismo, misiles, fuerzas armadas convencionales, droga, billetes falsificados". Esto parte de la peligrosa intencion de "derrocar" de todas maneras el regimen de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea bajo los pretextos de toda indole aun despues de llevar a efecto el desarme nuclear de esta.
    Asi senala el rotativo Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual insertado en su numero del dia 27 y continua:
    EE.UU. califico a la RPDC de "eje del mal" y "base avanzada de la tirania" y la definio como blanco de primer ataque nuclear. Esto es una clara prueba de que el objetivo final de su politica sobre Corea esta en el "derrocamiento del regimen" de la RPDC.
    Es absurda la insistencia de EE.UU. en la imposibilidad de normalizar sus relaciones diplomaticas con la RPDC sin dar solucion a los problemas de "derechos humanos, terrorismo, misiles" aun despues de que se resuelva el problema nuclear.
    Mientras EE.UU. hostilice a la RPDC y abrigue la ambicion de "derrocamiento del regimen" de esta, no se podra realizar la normalizacion de las relaciones diplomaticas de ambos paises.
    Si el imperio tiene interes en la normalizacion de sus relaciones diplomaticas con la RPDC, debe reconocer y respetar el sistema y regimen de esta y renunciar su intencion de "derrocar el regimen" de la RPDC.
    EE.UU. dice que "no tiene la intencion de hostilizar" a la RPDC y que no "invadira al Norte de Corea", pero de hecho persigue invariablemente su intencion de "derrocar el regimen" de la RPDC. Por eso esta no puede confiar en EE.UU., sino trata con precaucion a este.
    EE.UU. debe respetar a la RPDC y renunciar su ambicion de "derrocar el regimen" de esta. He aqui el remedio de la solucion del problema.

La reunificacion independiente es la tarea apremiante de la nacion coreana

     Pyongyang, 27 de junio (ATCC) -- Lograr la reunificacion independiente es la tarea historica suprema que tiene que ver con el destino de la nacion. Senala asi el diario Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual del dia 27 y continua: La reunificacion de la patria solo la podemos lograr mediante la lucha independiente porque las fuerzas extranjeras son autores de la division de Corea y obstaculo principal de la reunificacion de esta.
    El apoyo en las fuerzas extranjeras no hara mas que profundizar la division y antagonismo de la nacion y sujetarnos mas al yugo del avasallamiento.
    Las Tres Cartas de la reunificacion de la patria definen el principio de la independencia como principio y posicion fundamentales para la reunificacion y aclaran los principios y medios para realizar la reunificacion independiente. La Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio tambien es un programa de reunificacion independiente. Tiene por lo medular el ideal de "con las fuerzas unidas de la nacion coreana" y, a base de este, indica la via para solucionar de manera independiente el problema de reunificacion.
    Para la nacion coreana la reunificacion significa la independencia y la empresa para realizarla es la para establecer la independencia.
    La reunificacion independiente es la tarea historica impostergable de la nacion coreana.
    Nuestra nacion homogenea esta dividida artificialmente en dos partes por las fuerzas extranjeras. Es la tragedia de la historia nacional de 5 milenios.
    La reunificacion de la patria nunca puede ser realizada al margen de la lucha independiente de la nacion coreana que es sujeto de esta empresa.
    Cuanto mas perdure la division de la nacion, tanto mas se veran afectados la soberania y los intereses de la nacion y tanto mas beneficios se daran a las fuerzas extranjeras.
    La reunificacion independiente es el llamado de la nacion y la demanda de la historia y epoca.
    Cada cual debe responder no con las palabras sino con las acciones practicas al llamamiento de la patria y nacion. Esto es la posicion del patriota ante la patria y la nacion.
    Todos los coreanos del Norte, el Sur y en ultramar deben mantener en alto la bandera de "con las fuerzas unidas de la nacion coreana" y producir nuevo viraje en la lucha pannacional por la reunificacion independiente del pais para glorificar la epoca de reunificacion del 15 de junio.
