Kim Jong Il's Leadership Praised in Peru and India

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru and a secretary of the Central Committee of the All-India Forward Bloc made public statements on June 18 and 19 on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, said in a statement that the Songun politics and wise leadership of Kim Jong Il who is the supreme leader of the WPK and the Korean people are the Juche-based politics and ever-victorious leadership that enable the heroic Korean people to always emerge victorious in their struggle.
    G. Debarajan, secretary of the Central Committee of the All-India Forward Bloc, noted that thanks to the clairvoyant wisdom and wise leadership of Kim Jong Il the Korean people have honorably defended the sovereignty and dignity of the country and the nation and waged a dynamic drive to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation, frustrating the moves of the allied forces of imperialism including the U.S. to isolate and stifle the DPRK.
    He sincerely hoped that the WPK and the Korean people would further augment the might of the country and achieve the reunification of the nation as early as possible under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Information Bulletins Issued in Bangladesh and Nepal

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Bangladeshi preparatory committee for a meeting for praising the great persons of Mt. Paektu published an information bulletin titled "The DPRK, Songun and June 15 Era of Reunification" on June 15 on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. The five years after the publication of the joint declaration have been a period during which the north and the south of Korea have paved a wide avenue for reconciliation and cooperation, unity and reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself", the information bulletin noted, and continued:
    The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration has been steadily implemented despite the grave challenge of the anti-reunification forces. This would be unthinkable without the Songun politics of leader Kim Jong Il. The reunification of Korea is sure to be achieved thanks to the Songun politics firmly guaranteeing the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration.
    The Nepal-Korea Friendship Association issued a special edition of information bulletin under the title "True Colors of Provoker of the Korean War-Secret History" on the occasion of the month of joint struggle against the U.S. from June 25 to July 27.

Anniversary of Independence of Democratic Congo Observed

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Chollima House of Culture Wednesday to mark the 45th anniversary of the Independence of Democratic Congo. A speech by the chairman of the friendship association was followed by an adoption of a message of greetings to the president of Democratic Congo.

Kim Jong Il Lauded by Russian Poet

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- Aleksandr Brezhnev, Russian poet, created and made public a poem titled "Kim Jong Il in June". The poem said that June 19, 1964 when leader Kim Jong Il started his work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was an ordinary day but this day remains shining in the history spanning thousands of years.
    It was thanks to this day of June that the revolution could have its heart, the WPK grow to be a steel-strong party and ranks of tens of millions of human bullets and bombs equipped with the Juche idea have always covered the road of advance, the poem noted. Pointing out that Kim Jong Il's start of work at the C.C., the WPK was a sign post in establishing the leader's ideological system and winning every victory, the poem stressed that as he began steering the Central Committee of the WPK, the immortal cause of Songun has shed its rays, the might of the Korean nation has been like an erupting volcano and the Korean nation has demonstrated its glory all over the world.
    Saying that Kim Jong Il is the man who has inherited the bloodline of Mt. Paektu and carried forward the gut and pluck, strong enthusiasm and wisdom of President Kim Il Sung, the poem emphasized that along with the historic June, the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il has helped the DPRK shed its brilliant rays as an invulnerable bulwark of socialism.
    The June was, indeed, the soul of Korea, the poem noted, stressing that the June is the symbol of Kim Jong Il century as it helped sow healthy seeds all over the country and sprout them as strong buds of Songun to form a thick forest.

Title of Hero of Republic Posthumously Awarded to Student

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The title of the Hero of the Republic was posthumously awarded to Yu Kyong Hwa, former student of Kim Chol Ju University of Education for fully displaying the spirit of devotedly defending the leader and revolutionary comradeship. Early in January last when there broke out fire all of a sudden, she protected the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and saved her revolutionary comrades from the flames at the cost of her life.
    The Title of the Hero of the DPRK and Gold Star Medal and the Order of the National Flag First Class posthumously awarded to her were conveyed to her bereaved family at an awarding ceremony held Wednesday.
    At the ceremony speakers referred to the brilliant life of her who always lived with rare desire and hope to be a true daughter of Songun Korea, adding that was why she displayed to the full the intense loyalty and noble comradeship to the last moments of her life.

Indian Diplomats Help Korean Farmers

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- N. T. Khankhup, Indian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of the Indian embassy helped the DPRK-India Friendship Kalchon Co-operative Farm in South Phyongan Province in weeding bean field Wednesday. During a break, they enjoyed an art performance given by the schoolchildren and conversed with the farmers, deepening the friendship.
    The Indian ambassador wished the farmers greater success in the agricultural production, noting that the DPRK is focusing its efforts on agriculture this year. That day the guests handed aid materials to the farm.

Solidarity Function Held in Cuba

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- An opening ceremony of the month of international solidarity with the Korean people and a solidarity function were held in Cuba on June 22 and 26. Juan Jose Leon Vega, chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, addressing the opening ceremony, said that the world witnessed the collapse of the U.S. imperialists' policy of aggression through the Korean war and that the Cuban revolutionaries raided the Moncada Barracks around the time when Korea won victory and the miserable defeat of the U.S. began thereafter.
    The Cuban people believe that the Korean people will achieve significant successes in socialist economic construction and in the struggle for the reunification of the country under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il, true to the behests of President Kim Il Sung, he said.
    After the opening ceremony, the participants saw Korean handicrafts on display.
    Meanwhile, a solidarity function was held at the Havana Central Botanical Garden under the co-sponsorship of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification. Cuban public figures and people, DPRK ambassador and embassy officials present at the function were briefed on the history of the garden, went round it and planted memorial trees.
    The participants deepened friendly feelings, conversing about socialist construction and anti-imperialist struggle in the two countries.

Anti-War Rally and Protest in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Democratic Workers' Party of south Korea and civic and social organizations including the People's Action against Troop Dispatch reportedly held an anti-war rally in Seoul on June 26 and demanded that the Jaitun unit be withdrawn from Iraq at an early date to prevent the second and third cases of Kim Son Il. The rally was held on the lapse of one year since Kim Son Il, a south Korean civilian, was killed in Iraq. Kim Hye Gyong, representative of the Democratic Workers' Party, Jong Tae Yon, planning chief of the People's Action against Troop Dispatch, and other speakers called on the people to turn out in the movement against war, declaring that the struggle would continue till the war of aggression in Iraq ended.
    The resolution said the movement for peace against war must be expanded to put an end to the presence of the south Korean Jaitun unit in Iraq and its occupation by U.S. troops. It stated that the massive struggle demanding the withdrawal of the dispatched troops would be intensified around August, one year after the dispatch of troops to Iraq. At the end of the rally, the participants started a protest march, chanting "Remember Kim Son Il", "The U.S., leave Iraq".

Headquarters of University Movement Formed in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Headquarters of the Movement of Universities in Ryongnam District for the Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration was reportedly inaugurated on June 24. The declaration read out at the inaugural ceremony recalled that fellow countrymen gathered in one place to hold the June 15 grand festival for national reunification on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration. The scene of the great harmony of the Korean nation that spread in Pyongyang was, in the true sense of the word, a sight of the fellow countrymen united in one body, it said.
    Stating that the united strength of the Korean nation was really great, the declaration said all this was a fruition brought by the June 15 joint declaration.
    It is the unanimous will of the Korean nation not to allow the further delay of national reunification, the declaration said, adding: The headquarters will devote all its might and wisdom to the implementation of the joint declaration.

Construction of Taean Friendship Glass Factory Progresses 85 Percent

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- One year has passed since the start of the construction of the Taean Friendship Glass Factory on July 1 last year, which is now under way amid the deep concern of the parties, governments and peoples of the DPRK and China. In the period, the builders moved 1.5 million cubic meters of earth to lay out more than 200,000 square meters of building lot and pushed forward at the same time the project of the groundwork of the objects as a whole such as the main production buildings and auxiliary systems.
    They have finished earlier than schedule the building of the frame of the chimney of the waste heat boiler and built a gigantic sand-unloading wharf on the Taedong riverside.

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Wednesday sent a message of greetings to Burundian President Domitien Ndayzeye on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the independence of the country. Expressing the belief that the friendly ties between the two countries would continue to grow stronger, the message wished the president and the people of Burundi greater success in their work for national unity and peace, stability and reconstruction of the country.

Kim Yong Nam Receives Credentials from Zambian Ambassador

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, received credentials from Zambian Ambassador e. p. David Clifford Saviye at the Mansudae Assembly Hall today. Present there were Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Choe Su Hon and staff members of the Zambian embassy here.

Kalun Meeting, Cradle of Songun Politics

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Korean people have won victory after victory, attaching importance to the military from the beginning of the revolution. The idea that a counterrevolutionary force should be countered by a revolutionary force was put forward at the historic Kalun Meeting (from June 30 to July 2) 75 years ago.
    At that time the Japanese imperialists with huge armed forces were intensifying their colonial repression and plunder of Korea than ever before while making preparations to invade the Asian Continent.
    The situation compelled the Korean people to wage an organized armed struggle against the imperialists.
    Reflecting the situation, the Kalun Meeting advanced the issue of launching an all-out anti-Japanese war as the basic line of the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle and the first and foremost task of the Korean communists. It also stressed that the Koreans should defeat the invaders with arms in their hands in order to achieve the liberation of the country.
    It was a significant meeting which provided a foundation of the Songun politics, the ever-victorious sword.
    Since then the Korean revolution has triumphantly paved the untrodden path of the history under the banner of Songun.
    The Korean people, who had the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army founded on April 25, Juche 21 (1932), waged a bloody warfare against the Japanese imperialists and thus accomplished the historic cause of the national liberation on August 15, 1945. And in the Korean War (1950-1953) they defeated the U.S. imperialists, who boasted of being the "strongest" in the world, and defended the freedom and independence of the nation with credit.
    The 1990s was the most trial period for the Korean people owing to the intensified moves of the imperialists to isolate and stifle the DPRK and successive natural disasters. But they safeguarded the dignity and sovereignty of the nation and opened a broad vista for building a great prosperous powerful socialist country in reliance on the strong armed forces built up under the banner of Songun.
    The Korean people will successfully carry forward the traditions of the Songun revolution.

Housing Construction in Thick Forests

     Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The Mt. Paektu area has changed beyond recognition in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea over the last five years. The members of the national Party information workers' shock brigade have spruced up the area as a good place to live in and a scenic place to suit the features of the socialist country as President Kim Il Sung had planned.
    They have constructed or reconstructed over 1,490 dwelling houses for more than 5,080 families in towns in forests at the foot of Mt. Paektu.
    The township of Samjiyon County, Ryanggang Province has turned into a picturesque town with the construction of dwelling houses of unique styles and parks befitting the forest zone and other colorful buildings.
    More than 520 red and blue cosy houses for thousands of households have been built there. Each flat covering 75-80 square meters on an average is furnished with convenient living conditions.
    Beautiful villages have come into being along Rimyongsu Stream and on the shore of Mubong Lake to go well with their fascinating scenes varying from season to season.
    People have moved to the newly built dwellings in Phothae workers' district, Pochon and other parts.

Gift to Kim Jong Il from Zambian President

Conferencia de Kalun echo cimiento de politica de Songun

     Pyongyang, 30 de junio (ATCC) -- Desde la alborada de la revolucion el pueblo coreano viene logrando victoria tras victoria al tomar rienda de la idea de dar importancia a las fuerzas armadas y a los asuntos militares. La idea de dar importancia a las fuerzas armadas segun la cual a la violencia contrarrevolucionaria hay que oponer la violencia revolucionaria se presento en la historica conferencia de Kalun efectuada del 30 de junio al 2 de julio de hace ahora 75 anos.
    En aquel tiempo los imperialistas japoneses dispuestos de enormes fuerzas armadas daban acicate a los preparativos para la guerra de agresion al continente asiatico por una parte y por la otra recrudecian mas que nunca la opresion y el pillaje colonial sobre Corea.
    La situacion creada urgia desplegar la lucha armada organizada contra los imperialistas japoneses. Por eso la conferencia de Kalun presento el problema de librar la guerra antijaponesa general con las fuerzas armadas como la linea principal de la lucha antijaponesa de liberacion nacional, primera tarea de los comunistas coreanos y subrayo la necesidad de derrotar a los agresores con las armas en la mano para lograr la restauracion de la patria.
    La conferencia de Kalun definio el ideal de dar importancia a las fuerzas armadas como la linea de la revolucion coreana, por eso devino un conclave singular en que se asento la base de la politica de Songun (priorizacion militar), remedio de victorias siempre.
    Desde entonces en todos los anales la revolucion coreana dio importancia a las fuerzas armadas y supero severas pruebas de la historia.
    El pueblo coreano dio inicio al Songun con la fundacion de la Guerrilla Popular Antijaponesa el 25 de abril del 21 (1932) de la Era Juche, libro la sangrienta guerra contra los uniformados japoneses armados hasta los dientes y logro el 15 de agosto de 1945 la historica causa de restauracion de la patria y durante la Guerra de Liberacion de la Patria bajo los humos al soberbio imperialismo yanqui que se jactaba de la "supremacia" y salvaguardo dignamente la libertad e independencia de la patria.
    En la decada de los 90 del siglo 20, periodo mas dificil en que llegaban al extremo las maniobras norteamericanas de aislamiento y aplastamiento a la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y se repetian los desastres naturales el pueblo coreano defendio la dignidad y la soberania de la nacion y abrio el camino de la construccion de una gran potencia prospera socialista con el gran poderio militar preparado con el Songun. El pueblo coreano defendera con firmeza y llevara adelante las invencibles tradiciones revolucionarias del Songun, allanadas y triunfantes con las fuerzas armadas.
