S. Korean Farmers Stage Protest inside U.S. Air Force Base
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- Farmers in North Jolla Province reportedly advanced into the base of the U.S. Air Force in Kunsan on July 1 in demand of the compensation for damage done by oil leakage, etc.
Farmers and members of civic and public organizations staged an all-night sit-in strike for the three consecutive days demanding the U.S. forces side take decisive measures to stop the oil leakage from the U.S. Air Force base and formally apologize for it. But the U.S. force's side turned down the demand.
The demonstrators succeeded in breaking through the police cordon and advanced into the base to stage a protest. They drove a tractor into the wire entanglements around the base.
Much upset by this, the security authorities reinforced the police force several times, while driving pro-U.S. conservative forces to the crackdown upon the protestors.
Combined Performance Given by Participants in Schoolchildren's Art Festival
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- A combined performance was given by participants in the 44th National Schoolchildren's Art Festival at the Pyongyang Schoolchildren's Palace on Monday.
They included members of art groups of schoolchildren's palaces and houses and middle and primary schools across the country who had been selected in the provincial, city and county contests of the National Schoolchildren's Art Festival.
The performers put on the stage colorful numbers highly praising the undying exploits of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and Marshal Kim Jong Il.
They impressively depicted the schoolchildren's irrepressible yearning for and boundless gratitude to Kim Jong Il in a trio and chorus to the accompaniment of Oungum "The Generalissimo Is Our Sun," narration and chorus to the accompaniment of guitar "Footmarks Associated with Loving Care," a chorus to the accompaniment of accordion "Let the Playing of Unbangul Accordion Resound Forth" and other numbers.

Korean People Called upon to Emerge Victorious in "100-Day Campaign"
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The participants in the Pyongyang mass rally held at Kim Il Sung Square on July 3 called for waging with loyalty a dynamic "100-day campaign" to glorify the 60th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea as a grand festival of victors.
This is a manifestation of the heroic mettle of Juche Korea where all the people have risen up to unconditionally and devotedly honor the Party's intention and determination and their ardent enthusiasm and intense loyalty to make every day of the general march of the Songun revolution rewarding for the sake of the mother Party and the country.
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in an editorial says that the goal of the "100-day campaign" is to fully display the might of Songun true to the idea and intention of leader Kim Jong Il and bring about a decisive turn in the economic construction and people's living in this significant year. The editorial calls on all the servicepersons and people to achieve great victory in the campaign by the force of single-minded unity.
It goes on: There are herculean tasks to be fulfilled during this campaign. However, we have nothing to fear and there is no unconquerable fortress for us now that we are under the outstanding leadership of the headquarters of the revolution, there is the foundation of the self-reliant national economy and the Party members and all other heroic people remain intensely loyal to the leadership of the Party.
A sure guarantee for victory in this gigantic struggle lies in encouraging all the people to bring about a new great surge in the Songun revolution by carrying forward the tradition established by the elders in the period of the great Chollima surge after the war. All the people should create a new tempo of advance in the new century with the same spirit and mettle as displayed by them when effecting that Chollima surge.
All the officials, Party members and other working people should set their hearts ablaze with the spirit of revolutionary soldiers, let all work sites seethe with the enthusiasm, mettle and traits of soldiers and intensify the scientific and technological revolution at all units of the national economy.
The "100-day campaign" is a worthwhile struggle which will record a brilliant page in the history of the heroic struggle of the Korean people. No force on earth can stop the Korean people from dynamically advancing, united close around the headquarters of the revolution headed by Kim Jong Il.
U.S. War Exercise Denounced
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification reportedly made public a statement on June 30 in connection with the recent disclosure of the fact that the U.S. forces in south Korea staged in secrecy an exercise of escaping from the Korean Peninsula as part of their preparations for the operation of preemptive attack on the north.
Recalling that the exercise which involved the U.S. forces and their families across south Korea was not a simple drill but an exercise staged under the simulated conditions of an "actual war," the statement stressed this indicates that the U.S. war scenario has entered the phase of its implementation.
There is no justification for the U.S. forces to stay in the Korean Peninsula as the Koreans greeted the era of "By our nation itself," the statement noted, adding:
We youth and students strongly demand the U.S. forces immediately quit this land.
Anti-Imperialist, Anti-War Struggle Essential for Preserving Peace
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- Peace and security in various parts of the world are being seriously threatened and disturbed by the imperialists' reckless high-handed politics and their moves for aggression and war. In order to protect peace and security in Asia and the rest of the world, it is necessary to wage a dynamic anti-imperialist and anti-war struggle.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
It goes on:
It is necessary to discard illusion and fear of imperialists in order to frustrate the imperialists' moves for aggression and war and defend peace and security in Asia and the rest of the world.
Nothing is more foolish act than harboring an illusion about imperialism, thinking that their aggressive and predatory nature has changed.
Illusion about imperialism just leads to self-ruin.
One's fear of imperialism causes one to give up the anti-imperialist, anti-war struggle and yield to and compromise with it.
If one is afraid of fighting imperialists, shrunken by their bravado, one can never be free from their yoke of domination and subjugation nor can one protect global peace and security.
It is necessary to build military muscle in order to foil the imperialists' moves for aggression and war and defend global peace and security.
Lessons drawn from those countries which collapsed in face of the imperialists' military high-handed practices teach that one should defend sovereignty and peace of the country by one's own efforts.
The war against terrorism being staged by the U.S. at present is a contemporary form of "crusade" aimed to dominate the whole world and control the destiny of the world people. Progressive mankind is called upon to wage a joint dynamic struggle against the U.S. and war.
If world progressives wage a vigorous struggle for peace against imperialism and war irrespective of ideologies and social systems, they can certainly accomplish the human cause of peace, the article concludes.
U.S. Shameless Assertions Refuted
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The U.S. chief executive was reported to have expressed deep concern about the DPRK's declaration of its access to nuclear weapons at a recent U.S.-EU annual summit in the White House. Earlier, the head of the U.S. delegation at a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors charged that the DPRK is a "challenger to NPT."
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed commentary carried in this regard says: Needless to say, it is foolish of the U.S. to try to lay the blame for the deadlocked six-party talks and their delayed resumption at the DPRK's door because Washington was chiefly accountable for having stood in the way of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula.
It continues:
It was none other than the U.S. that compelled the DPRK to have access to nuclear weapons and was chiefly to blame for having barred the process of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula. The U.S. demand that the DPRK scrap its nuclear program first, a bid to disarm it, is a revelation of Washington's extremely unreasonable unilateralism and its high-handed policy.
It is nonsensical for the U.S. to unilaterally demand the DPRK disarm itself though both have been in the hostile relationship and technically at war for more than a half century.
The U.S. has gone so shameless as to try to brand the DPRK as a nuclear criminal by accusing it of challenging NPT. This reminds one of a thief crying "Stop the thief!" At the NPT Review Conference held at the United Nations some time ago the U.S. was censured by the international community for having perpetrated crimes in violation of NPT.
The U.S. seems to work hard to get rid of its awkward position by removing the label of "chieftain of nuclear proliferation" and bringing the charge to the DPRK. But this is futile.
The DPRK has neither opposed nor shunned the six-party talks. The point at issue is that the U.S. attitude toward the six-party talks is opaque. If the U.S. persists in demanding the DPRK dismantle its nuclear program first without honoring its commitments, this will get it nowhere.
GIs' another Massacre of Civilians Disclosed
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- It has been recently disclosed that the U.S. imperialist aggressors ruthlessly massacred innocent residents in Sansong-ri, Ryechon County, North Kyongsang Province, during the last Korean war. In this regard Minju Joson Tuesday runs a signed commentary denouncing the murderous nature of GIs seeking pleasure in human killing.
The recent disclosure is not the first time. All the massacres of civilians during the Korean war were committed by the direct orders and instructions of the U.S. military.
The U.S. imperialists have neither admitted the brutal massacres of civilians nor apologized and compensated for them though more than half a century passed.
The United States can never get rid of the responsibility for the crimes of having bestially killed innocent Koreans. It should admit all the murderous crimes committed by GIs, make an honest apology and compensation for them and promptly withdraw its troops from south Korea as unanimously demanded by the Korean nation.

Through the performance they truthfully represented with high artistry the optimistic life and national emotion and peculiar lifestyle of the Russians and various nations, thus strikingly demonstrating the appearance of the dance company with a long history and tradition.
Kim Jong Il sent a floral basket to the artistes, congratulating them on their successful performance.
New Kind of Composite Fertilizer Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- Scientists of the Academy of Sciences of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have developed a new kind of composite microelement fertilizer.
The fertilizer absorbed into seeds and crops supplies them with essential microelements including B, Zn, Cu and Mn during the whole period of their growth, thus ensuring metabolism of plants such as photosynthesis and composition of nutritive substances. It also strengthens their resistance to salinity, harmful insects, drought, rain and storm and increases the number of ears of plant and the number of grains per ear.
It is also applicable to fruit trees, cash crops, and economic and medicinal plants as well as grains and vegetables.
The amount of the fertilizer applied per hectare is smaller than other kinds.
