Vol. 59 of Kim Il Sung's Complete Works Published

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Vol. 59 of Kim Il Sung's Complete Works, a library of the great Juche idea which systematically and comprehensively deals with the famous works of President Kim Il Sung in chronological order, was brought out by the Publishing House of the Workers' Party of Korea. It contains his 35 famous works including his historic speeches, conclusions and talks from April to July of Juche 65 (1976).
    The President clarified principled issues arising in strengthening the state organs and enhancing their functions in his works such as "On Improving and Strengthening the Work of the Administration Council" and "On Correctly Implementing the State Budget."
    In his various other works he indicated tasks before different fields of the national economy and the ways for their implementation. Those tasks included building power stations on a large scale to solve the problem of electricity, developing railway, marine and cable transport to solve the problem of transport and placing farming on a scientific and technological basis as required by the Juche-based farming method to significantly boost the agricultural production.
    His works including "On Further Developing the Nursing and Upbringing of Children" and "Let Members of the Children's Union Conduct a Widespread Good Conduct Movement" dealt with the basic aim and contents of the law on nursing and upbringing of children, the law which calls for bringing up the children in the DPRK at the state and social expenses, important matters in developing the nursing and upbringing of children. They also laid down tasks for fully preparing the younger generation, the future of the country and heirs to the revolution, as revolutionaries of Juche type, knowledgeable, morally impeccable and physically sound.
    The book also contains works which perfectly clarified all the problems arising in carrying out the Korean revolution and accomplishing the global cause of independence such as the issue of rejecting outside interference and achieving the country's reunification by the concerted efforts of Koreans and the issue of developing the friendly and cooperative relations with various countries of the world.

Korean People's Struggle for Their Country's Reunification Supported

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The Asian Regional Committee to Support Korea's Reunification and 27 political parties and public organizations of India including the Communist Party of India and the Centre of Indian Trade Unions made public a joint statement on June 25 on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of joint struggle against the U.S. The joint statement says:
    The United States has kept at least 40,000 aggressor troops and more than 1,000 nuclear weapons in south Korea after occupying it by force of arms 60 years back. These are the main source of disturbing peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
    The U.S. has ceaselessly shipped sophisticated weaponry into south Korea in an invariable bid to isolate and stifle the DPRK under the pretext of its nuclear issue, bringing the Korean situation to an extreme pitch of tension.
    This is a blatant challenge to all the Koreans who desire the country's reunification and peace. We strongly demand the U.S. immediately withdraw its aggressor forces from south Korea and stop throwing any obstacles in the way of national reunification.
    On the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of joint struggle against the U.S., we express firm solidarity with the Korean people and ardently call upon the political parties, public organizations and progressive people of the world to fully support the Korean people in their struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea and the country's reunification.

Hospital Workers Union in S. Korea Threatens General Strike

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The National Hospital Workers Union declared on July 2 that it would call a general strike, according to the south Korean CBS. Expressing strong dissatisfaction with the hospital management sides which had been insincere towards the collective negotiations, reneging on the agreements made with the union, it threatened to call a general strike on July 8 unless its demand is met by the Central Labor Committee.

Int'l Meeting of Trade Unions in Europe on Korea's Reunification Held

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- An international meeting of trade unions in Europe on Korea's reunification was held in Brussels on June 27. The meeting was held under the title "The situation on the Korean Peninsula: The need for peace in this region and immediate withdrawal of the U.S. forces, European workers' solidarity with the workers on the Korean Peninsula."
    Present at the meeting were a delegation of the All Greece Front for the Struggle of Workers led by George Mavrikos, vice-president of the World Federation of Trade Unions and coordinator of the European Regional Office of the federation, a delegation of the Belgian Solidarity Committee "Korea Is One" led by Catherine Dijon, deputy secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea, and political figures of Spain and Romania.
    A delegation of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea led by its Vice-Chairman Kim Yong Do was present there on invitation.
    Speakers at the meeting denounced the U.S. for putting the brake on the inter-Korean relations which have developed in favor of reconciliation, cooperation and national unity since the publication of the north-south joint declaration and driving the anti-reunification forces in south Korea to the north-south confrontation.
    A letter to leader Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.
    An appeal to the workers and trade unions of the world was made public at the meeting.
    The appeal noted that the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration helped the north and the south of Korea greet the 21st century of reconciliation and cooperation after putting an end to the antagonism and confrontation that plagued the Koreans in the 20th century and encouraged them to dynamically advance towards national reunification.
    The appeal called upon all the trade unions and workers of the world to be vigilant against the moves of the U.S. to shift the blame for having driven the six-way talks for settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula to a deadlock onto the DPRK and create an atmosphere of international pressure upon it in a bid to isolate and stifle it. It also underscored the need for them to turn out as one in the struggle to disclose and frustrate them.
    The participants in the meeting sent a letter of protest to the U.S. president.

Kim Jong Il Praised as Genius of Arts

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The great leader Kim Jong Il is a genius of arts and it was a great honor and pride for the company to be highly appreciated by him, said Elena Scherbakova, director of the State Academic Moiseyev Dance Company of Russia who is heading the visiting company, when interviewed by KCNA Tuesday before its departure from here. Recalling that her company made several performance tours of the DPRK, she noted that her company was the first foreign art troupe to have the honor of giving its performance in the area of Mt. Paektu in the run-up to the 41st anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
    Our performances in Pyongyang and Wonsan also proved very successful, she said, adding she was sure that their Korea visit this time made a positive contribution to boosting the exchange and cooperation between the artistes of the two countries.
    She said that her company staged Korean dances during their performance tours of many countries and every time it was highly acclaimed.

President Kim Il Sung Remembered

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- A remembering meeting of youths and students was held at the education ground in front of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Museum Tuesday on the 11th anniversary of the demise of President Kim Il Sung. The participants first listened to the tape-recorded teachings given by him on the economic affairs of the county on July 6, Juche 83 (1994).
    The paean and song "Great Torrent of Yearning" was put on the stage at the meeting. Then the part of the time when he embarked on the revolution, leaving Mangyongdae, the home village, with a firm vow to restore the lost country at any cost from the reminiscences "With the Century" was read before the performance of the story and song "Mangyongdae Fork," the narrative and song "The Generalissimo Is Our Sun" and so on.
    The participants heard a significant tale of a spring day in April, Juche 61 (1972) when President Kim Il Sung visited Mangyongdae, accompanied by anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters. Then children of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School took an oath to be the first standard-bearers in devotedly defending the leader to carry through to accomplishment the revolutionary cause of Juche through generations, true to the idea and leadership of Kim Jong Il.
    The meeting closed with the choral poem and song "We Pledge."
    Meanwhile, a remembering stage of women's union members "Song of the Eternal Sun Resounding through the Sky of the Songun Country" was spread at the Women's House that day to commemorate the same occasion.

Provincial Mass Rallies Held in DPRK

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Mass rallies were held in South and North Phyongan, South and North Hwanghae, Kangwon, South Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces Tuesday to implement to the letter the joint slogans issued by the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the WPK. Reporters and speakers at the rallies said that the slogans serve as a militant banner inspiring the people to bring about the greatest innovation in the history of the country true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il by preserving the revolutionary idea and immortal feats of President Kim Il Sung as the eternal treasure of the Korean revolution.
    Saying that the slogans reflect the intention of the Party to conduct a dynamic "100-day campaign" in order to glorify the 60th anniversary of the Party's foundation as a grand festival of victors, they called upon all the people to bring about a decisive turn in economic construction and the improvement of the standard of people's living in this significant year with ardent patriotic enthusiasm and thus proudly greet the grand October festival.

Rodong Sinmun Calls for Shattering Imperialists' Psychological Warfare

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in a signed article calls upon the world revolutionary people to maintain high vigilance and dynamically conduct the revolutionary ideological and cultural offensive to check and frustrate the imperialists' psychological warfare. The imperialists are escalating their psychological warfare against socialist countries, anti-U.S. independent countries and countries which are situated in areas of military and strategic importance and do not yield to their demands, the article says, and goes on:
    The aims sought by them in their psychological warfare are to conduct a protracted and persistent ideological and cultural offensive and divide and destabilize those countries with a view to creating mental frustration, psychological collapse, illusion about capitalism, the idea of surrendering to imperialism and discontent with their system and leadership among their people and causing social confusion and thereby realizing their ambition to bring down the systems with ease.
    Their psychological warfare is designed to bring down the systems in the socialist countries and anti-imperialist independent countries and force them to unconditionally surrender to imperialism and serve it.
    What happened in Iraq teaches a serious lesson that if one does not approach the imperialists' psychological warfare with vigilance, it will entail disastrous consequences.
    The United State is resorting to an unprecedented psychological warfare, while foolishly calculating it can realize its ambition to "bring down the system of the DPRK" through this warfare.
    Such warfare may work on other countries but can never do on the DPRK. There are in the DPRK the army and people with the firm faith and will to fight it out for their cause and system while holding their ideology and system dearest and the single-minded unity more powerful than any type of nuclear weapons.
    The more persistent the imperialists become in their psychological warfare aimed to "bring down the system of the DPRK", the stronger the faith and will of its army and people for socialism will grow and the more solid its political and ideological position and anti-imperialist military front will become to be an invulnerable bulwark.

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung convened a consultative meeting of senior officials in the economic field in the last days of his life eleven years ago at which he made public the famous work "On Bringing about a New Revolutionary Turn in the Socialist Economic Construction" to unfold a bright blueprint for building a great prosperous powerful country. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday in an article dedicated to the anniversary says that upholding President's far-reaching plan and intention is a revolutionary duty of the Korean people and a supreme manifestation of their moral sense of obligation and it provides a fundamental guarantee for the victorious advance of the revolution. In the past ten-odd years the Korean people have worked to bring the President's plan for building a prosperous powerful country to a brilliant reality through manifold trials under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, bearing in mind the behests of the President, the author of the article notes, and goes on:

U.S. Troops' Escape Exercise Flailed

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration reportedly issued a statement on July 1 under the title "Escape Exercise in Preparation for Preemptive Attack: U.S., Give up Scheme to Launch a War against the North." Noting that the escape exercise mainly for a quick evacuation of the U.S. troops and their families in case of emergency on the Korean Peninsula was based on a plan for a preemptive attack on the north, the statement said the shameless attitude of the United States was glaringly revealed in the exercise.
    It has become clear once again that the U.S. would in no case defend our lives and security, said the statement, and went on:
    The peace of the Korean Peninsula can never be safeguarded with illusion about and expectation on the U.S. troops in south Korea.
    Peace on the peninsula and the lives of the people must be defended with our own strength. The U.S. troops in south Korea must leave this land quickly.

Greetings to President of AU

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Monday sent a message of greetings to Olusegun Obasanjo, president of Nigeria who is president of the African Union (AU), in connection with the opening of the 5th AU Summit in Sirte, Libya. The message pointed out that it is not long since the AU came into being but it has grown strong to be an authoritative regional organization thanks to the concerted efforts of Nigeria and other member states and there is an increasing international concern for the new partnership for the development of Africa.
    Convinced that the summit will provide a new opportunity of further strengthening the AU and successfully solving regional issues including socio-economic development and disputes by the efforts of the African countries and achieving the unity and prosperity of the continent, the message reiterated the firm will of the DPRK government and people to steadily boost the traditional friendly and cooperative relations with the AU and its member states.

Greetings to Malawian President

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Wednesday sent a message of greetings to Malawian President Bingu Wa Mutarika on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of its independence. Greetings to Libyan Leader

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Col. Moammer el Gaddafi, leader of the Great September First Revolution of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, on July 4 in connection with the Fifth African Union (AU) summit to be held in Sirte, Libya. The summit will be a significant occasion in enhancing the AU function and role and resolving continental issues including socio-economic development and disputes and major international matters in the common interests of the African people, says the message.

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Monday sent a message of greetings to Azali Assumani, president of the Comoros, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Comoros.      Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- Various kinds of mud goods made in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are popular in local and foreign markets for their medicinal and nutritive properties. A place on the west coast of the DPRK abounds in uncontaminated mud. It contains S, mineral matters, various vitamins, essential amino acid, organic acid, hormone, antibiotic medicine, enzyme, anti-oxidants and other useful substances.
    "Ryuhwanggamthang" (Sulfur Mud) is efficacious for treating and preventing various skin diseases including eczema, and chilblain, burn, neuralgia, arthritis, arteriosclerosis, chronic hepatitis, ulcer diseases, etc.
    "Hanjungyokje" (Sauna Mud) is rubbed all over the body before and after sauna. It helps sweat well and makes the skin soft and fair and removes scurf. Especially it is potent for pruritus, nutrition impediment, aging, neuralgia, arthritis and arteriosclerosis.

First Armed Organization of Korea

     Pyongyang, July 6 (KCNA) -- The idea of attaching importance to arms has been thoroughly applied in the Korean revolution. With the intelligible idea that the revolution should be made only with arms and all forms of struggle for national independence and social emancipation are decided by arms, President Kim Il Sung organized the Korean Revolutionary Army (KRA), the first of its kind in Korea, at Guyushu, Yitong County, China on July 6 Juche 19 (1930).
    He made a speech at the inaugural ceremony that day. His speech is run through with the idea that the KRA should conduct brisk political and military activities to train core elements, secure weapons, accumulate experiences in military actions and closely rally broad sections of people and thus make full preparations for an organized anti-Japanese armed struggle.
    Backbone elements were trained and mass foundation and military preparations made in a matter of two years after the formation of the KRA. Basing himself on this, he founded the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army in Antu on April 25, 1932.
    With the armed force, the Korean people could win in the national liberation struggle, overcoming unprecedented difficulties.
    The President always paid primary attention to the military affairs in the period following the liberation of the country, the Korean war (June 195 July 1953) and the post-war period, frustrating every aggressive move of the U.S.-led imperialists.
    The idea, with which the Korean revolution has emerged victorious over the past 75 years since the formation of the KRA, is being successfully carried forward by Kim Jong Il's Songun leadership.
    Kim Jong Il, true to the President's will, has creditably defended the dignity and sovereignty of the country and the nation, smashing the moves of the imperialists to stifle the DPRK.

Es que en la actualidad, los imperialistas la recrudecen contra los paises socialistas, los independientes y antiyanquis y los desobedientes que se hallan en nudos militares y estrategicos, senala el articulista y abunda:
    Lo que persiguen ellos en esta guerra sin balas es provocar disturbios sociales para facilitar su ambicionado derrocamiento del regimen de aquellos paises. Foro internacional de sindicatos europeos sobre reunificacion de Corea

     Pyongyang, 6 de julio (ATCC) -- El foro internacional de los sindicatos de la region europea sobre la reunificacion de Corea tuvo lugar el 27 de junio en Bruselas. En el foro intitulado "La situacion de la Peninsula Coreana: la necesidad de la paz en esta region, la retirada inmediata de las fuerzas armadas norteamericanas y la solidaridad de los obreros europeos con los de la Peninsula Coreana" participaron la delegacion del Frente de Lucha de los Obreros de Toda Grecia encabezada por George Mavrikos, vicepresidente de la Federacion Sindical Mundial y coordinador de la Oficina de esta Federacion en la region europea, la delegacion del Comite de Solidaridad "Corea es una" de Belgica presidida por la subsecretaria general del Comite Internacional de Enlace por la Reunificacion y la Paz en Corea Catherine Dijon y personalidades de partidos politicos de Espana y Rumania.
    Estuvo invitada la delegacion de la Federacion General de los Sindicatos de Corea presidida por el vicepresidente Kim Yong Do.
    En el conclave los oradores denunciaron a EE.UU. que instiga a las fuerzas anti-reunificacion del Sur de Corea a la confrontacion con el Norte poniendo freno a las relaciones Norte-Sur que se desarrollan favorablemente para la reconciliacion, la cooperacion y la unidad de la nacion despues de la publicacion de la Declaracion Conjunta Norte-Sur del 15 de Junio.
    En la ocasion fue aprobada una carta dirigida al Dirigente Kim Jong Il.
    El llamamiento dirigido a todos los obreros del mundo y los sindicatos senala que con la publicacion de la citada Declaracion Conjunta, ambas partes de Corea pusieron fin al siglo 20 de la discordia y confrontacion y acogieron el siglo 21 de la reconciliacion y la cooperacion para la reunificacion nacional.
    Todos los sindicatos y obreros del mundo deben estar alertos del intento de EE.UU. de imputar a Corea su responsabilidad por la ruptura de la cita sexta-partita enderezada a resolver el problema nuclear de la Peninsula Coreana, y de crear ambiente de presion internacional para aislarla y aplastarla, y deben levantarse unanimemente en la lucha por revelarlo y frustrarlo.
    Los participantes en el foro enviaron una carta de protesta al presidente estadounidense.
