Supreme Commander of KPA Kim Jong Il Pays Homage to President Kim Il Sung

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, together with commanding members of the NDC of the DPRK and the KPA visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace at 0:00 of July 8. Placed before the statue of Kim Il Sung was a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the WPK and its Central Military Commission and the NDC of the DPRK.
    The ribbon of the floral basket bore the letters "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung is immortal."
    Kim Jong Il together with the officials accompanying him paid homage to Kim Il Sung. Also present there were Yon Hyong Muk, vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK, KPA Vice Marshal Kim Yong Chun, member of the NDC of the DPRK and chief of the General Staff of the KPA, KPA Vice Marshal Kim Il Chol, member of the NDC of the DPRK and minister of the People's Armed Forces, staff members of the KPA Supreme Command and general officers of the KPA.

Anniv. of Demise of President Kim Il Sung Commemorated in Different Countries

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- Functions were held in different countries on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. A seminar on the theme of "The Juche idea is the acme of human thought" was held by the Group for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea of Democratic Congo on June 29. At the seminar the participants, first of all, paid respectful homage to Kim Il Sung.
    Members of the group made speeches in relation to the reality of their country under such titles as "The originality of the Juche philosophy" and "The Juche philosophy is a revolutionary and popular political one." The Juche idea fathered by Kim Il Sung is a completely new theory which has been systematized and developed in depth by leader Kim Jong Il in an integral manner, they noted, explaining its originality, truth and great vitality.
    The speakers highly praised the Juche idea as a great idea which occupies the most shining place in the history of human thought, a beacon indicating the future of humankind and a flawless socialist theory.
    At the end of the seminar, the participants watched Korean film "For the Liberation of the Country" Parts 1, 2 and 3.
    A seminar on the revolutionary exploits of Kim Il Sung took place on June 30 under the co-sponsorship of the Mt. Paektu Czech-Korean Friendship Association and the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea.
    The chairmen of the association and the group noted at the seminar that the President accomplished the cause of national liberation and honorably defended the sovereignty of the country and nation by bringing the U.S. imperialists to their knees in the Fatherland Liberation War and converted the DPRK into a powerful socialist country, independent in politics, self-sustaining in economy and self-reliant in national defence. At the end of the seminar, the participants looked round photos displayed under the title "Always walking roads in fields" before appreciating a Korean film dealing with the immortal exploits Kim Jong Il performed by accomplishing the cause of perpetuating the President's memory.
    On the same day a reading session was held by the Kampala City Committee of the National Movement of Uganda on an article titled "The last instructions of President Kim Il Sung are being successfully carried out in the DPRK."

Message of Sympathy to U.K. Prime Minister

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, sent a message of sympathy to Tony Blair, prime minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The message expressed deep sympathy with and consolation to the prime minister and, through him, to the U.K. government and all victims in connection with the casualties of many innocent people caused by a series of explosions in London on July 7.
    Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun sent a similar message to his U.K. counterpart Jack Straw.

South Headquarters of Pomminryon Calls for Three Forms of Cooperation

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) reportedly made public a statement under the title "Let us advance the timetable of national reunification clarified by the three principles of national reunification and the June 15 joint declaration through the three forms of cooperation" on July 4 on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the publication of the historic July 4 joint statement. The statement said:
    The three principles of national reunification clarified in the July 4 joint statement have resulted in "By our nation itself," the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration today. The march of the Koreans in the south, the north and overseas, guided by the idea of "By our nation itself," is advancing the timetable of the country's reunification despite all obstructive moves of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad including the U.S. The spirit of national independence and great national unity is being displayed in all social fields and the reunification of the country has already become a strong trend of the times.
    The three forms of cooperation for national independence, peace against war and reunification and patriotism are the best way of building a reunified rich and prosperous country by the concerted efforts of all Koreans under the banner of "By our nation itself."
    The statement called upon all Koreans to bring earlier the day of national reunification through a nationwide movement for realizing the three forms of cooperation.

Exercise of Jurisdiction on Criminals of U.S. Forces Demanded

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- The "emergency measure committee for probing truth behind the killing of the south Korean woman by U.S. army truck" in south Korea reportedly demanded the exercise of jurisdiction on the criminals of the U.S. forces. The organization at a press conference held on July 4 in front of the government building denounced the results of the police investigation into the killing of woman Kim Myong Ja by a U.S. army truck in Tongduchon City, Kyonggi Province, on June 10. It strongly demanded the government authorities exercise jurisdiction on the criminals for probing the truth behind the case.
    If the U.S. forces are allowed to exercise jurisdiction on the case, the truth behind the case will be hidden and the criminals will be declared not guilty as was the case with the murder of two schoolgirls in 2002, the organization charged.

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- A floral basket was sent by the family of Zhang Weihua, anti-Japanese revolutionary martyr, Thursday to be placed before the statue of President Kim Il Sung on Mansu Hill on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of his demise. Written on the ribbon of the floral basket were words "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung Will Live Forever".

Military Attaches' Corps Visits Korean Revolution Museum

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- The military attaches' corps here Thursday visited the Korean Revolution Museum on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. Military attaches made entries in the visitor's book after looking round with keen interest historical relics and mementoes recalling those days when the Korean people and other progressive people of the world deeply grieved over the demise of Kim Il Sung who was the great father of the Korean nation and the prominent great man in the era of independence.
    Vietnamese Military Attache Nguyen Van Chau wrote that Kim Il Sung liberated the country and devoted his all to the work for the Korean people's happy life, adding he is always remembered by the army and people of the DPRK.
    Chinese Military Attache Yang Xilian wrote that Kim Il Sung is immortal as he performed great exploits for the Korean revolution and the development of the Sino-Korean friendship.
    Egyptian Military Attache Mahmoud Mohamed Osman Atik wrote that their visit to the museum provided an opportunity to know well about the ardent reverence of the Korean people for the great father, stressing that the great exploits performed by Kim Il Sung for the era and humankind are always remembered by the world progressives.

Iranian Baby Unbyol Blessed

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- An Iranian radio and TV broadcast a story about baby Unbyol at 8 p. m. of June 30 and in the morning of July 1, the prime times for news bulletin. She, the daughter of Esmaeil Babaei Ragheb, second secretary of the Iranian embassy here, was the 330th foreign baby to be born at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital.
    Unbyol's mother said that the birth of her charming daughter was possible thanks to the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and she could have an easy delivery thanks to the high level of technique and sincere devotion of medical persons of the hospital.
    The Iranian second secretary and his wife named their baby Unbyol in order to hand down long the profound care shown for them by the maternity hospital and the Korea-Iran friendship.
    He sent a letter to leader Kim Jong Il in deep reverence some days ago in the run-up to her first birthday.
    Kim Jong Il read the letter and blessed Unbyol's future, pleased to learn that they gave her a beautiful Korean name.
    Unbyol's father said that it was great honor for his family that his daughter received blessings from Kim Jong Il.
    Unbyol is now well known as a happy baby blessed by Kim Jong Il and a symbol of Korea-Iran friendship.

Korean Film "Fatherly Leader with Officials" Screened

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- The Korean documentary film "Fatherly Leader with Officials" was screened at the People's Palace of Culture Thursday on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. The film deals with historical facts about how earnestly Kim Il Sung led officials, finding himself among officials, from the early period of building a new country to the last moments of his life. The film impressively tells stories that the President trained officials as commanding members of the revolution, invited them to accompany him during his field guidance and called them to the meetings where he gave valuable instructions and led them with profound loving care so that they might become true revolutionaries who faithfully uphold the idea and leadership of Kim Jong Il.
    Among the audience were senior officials of the Party and the state, chairpersons of the friendly parties, Cabinet members and officials of the working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions.

Bush Administration Accused of Scuttling Intl' Religious Meeting

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Korean Council of Religionists in a statement on July 7 denounced the bellicose Bush group for their fascist action to scuttle an international meeting initiated by the prestigious religious organizations in the U.S. Recalling that such prestigious religious organizations of the U.S. as the National Council of the Churches of Christ and the World Conference on Religion and Peace jointly initiated the opening of the "international meeting for peace on the Korean Peninsula" in New York and proposed to the Korean Council of Religionists to make a positive contribution to improving the situation in the peninsula, the statement said: The U.S. religious organizations' proposal to hold an international meeting for peace on the Korean Peninsula in the U.S. chiefly responsible for creating the great danger of a nuclear war on the peninsula is meaningful in every aspect as it arouses a serious concern of the world people.
    The Korean Council of Religionists accepted the repeated invitation of the U.S. religious organizations to the international meeting and decided to send a delegation of Korean religionists and scholars. While preparing itself for the success of the meeting, it has gone through all the necessary procedures for the entry into the U.S. after receiving a formal notice about the approval of visas from the U.S. Department of State in April. The U.S. Department of State, however, made a sudden about- face for no reason just a few days before the departure of the delegation. It unilaterally cancelled the visas, a mean and wicked action.
    Such outrage committed by the U.S. administration is a brazen-faced action unprecedented in the history of international relationship. This rash act can be perpetrated only by the group of Satans insulting the several religious organizations in the U.S. which jointly promoted the meeting and other religious organizations of the world.
    This high-handed fascist action can be committed only by the bellicose Bush gentries who threw the world into uneasiness and horror with war and genocide, pursuant to their strong-arm policy and hegemony, utterly indifferent to religion, justice and peace and international law.
    The action taken by the administration to frustrate the above-said international meeting indicates that the U.S. is the most brutal suppressor of religion and the world's only outpost of tyranny.
    The Korean Council of Religionists brands the U.S. administration, which blocked the free visits and contacts of religionists and scuttled the meeting of the world religious community, as a group of devils disregarding the religious faith and morality and a kingpin suppressing religion and strongly demands an apology for this.
    The reality goes to prove that the root cause of a nuclear war can never be removed from the Korean Peninsula unless the U.S. gives up its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
    If the Bush administration ignites a nuclear war at any cost, not pondering over the repeated warnings of the DPRK, this will bring the U.S. to its end.
    The Korean Council of Religionists, availing itself of this opportunity, expresses expectation that all the people of the world and international religious organizations that advocate love, justice and peace would extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to prevent the Korean Peninsula from the nuclear war and defend peace in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.

Youth and Students Hold Rally to Fulfill Joint Slogans

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- A rally of youth and students was held at Kim Il Sung Stadium on Thursday to vow to implement to the letter the joint slogans published by the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Party. The rally drew more than 60,000 young folks and students in Pyongyang.
    The reporter and speakers at the rally called upon all the youth and students to ensure the absolute authority of leader Kim Jong Il in every way and devotedly implement the Party's line and policy, deeply cherishing loyalty to him as their revolutionary faith and obligation.
    They said the young people should actively join the Korean People's Army, regarding national defense as their most sacred duty, take the lead in fully displaying the beautiful traits of assisting the army and making the whole society overflow with the traits of giving importance to the military affairs and, at the same time, defend the socialist class position, frustrating the enemy's moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK and ideological and cultural penetration.
    Calling for giving priority to the development of the defense industry and making a leaping progress on the main fronts of the building of a great prosperous powerful nation including the agricultural front, they stressed, among other things, that the construction of the Paektusan Songun Youth Power Station entrusted to the youth league by Kim Jong Il should be completed in the shortest time possible.

Upholding Kim Il Sung's Idea and Cause Called for

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Friday editorially calls for glorifying President Kim Il Sung's idea and cause always under the banner of Songun. It says:
    The Korean people have waged a protracted and arduous struggle for the victory of the cause of Juche pioneered by the President, holding him in high esteem as the sun of Juche. The Korean army and people have grown all the more unshakable in their absolute faith in the President's idea and cause after his demise.
    Their noble resolution to uphold the President in high esteem through all ages finds striking manifestation in that they keep a tight hold on the immortal Juche idea founded by him as an eternal lifeline and that they are effecting a revolutionary turn in building a great prosperous powerful nation, true to his last instructions.
    The Songun idea which the Korean army and people uphold as the guideline of the revolution and construction in the new century also has its root in the Juche idea and the unbreakable single-minded unity of the leader, the party, the army and the people, the strongest weapon of the Korean revolution, also has the great Juche idea as its ideological basis.
    The Korean army and people have foiled at every step the moves on the part of the U.S. imperialists to destroy the ideology, the system and the cause of the DPRK and consolidated their revolutionary position like an iron wall with the firm faith that they will certainly win if they defend socialism but will meet death if they forsake it.
    The President's idea and cause are firmly defended and successfully carried forward in the DPRK because leader Kim Jong Il is standing at the head of the party and the revolution. The will of Songun runs through his energetic leadership.

DPRK Advances under Revolutionary Slogans

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- The People of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have all turned out in response to the slogans issued jointly by the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea to greet the 60th anniversary of the WPK. With a high degree of enthusiasm they are striving to make a new leaping advance again.
    Korea's is a revolutionary history in which the people have won victory after victory with the might of revolutionary slogans set forth at each stage of the revolutionary development.
    The slogans reflecting the demand of the times, revolutionary spirit and serve-the-people spirit have served as a driving force which has given full play to the inexhaustible strength and creative wisdom of the popular masses so as to work epoch-making miracles.
    During the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle the Korean revolutionaries fought under the slogans including "Weapons are our life and soul! Oppose armed force with armed force!", "As fish cannot live without water, so guerrillas cannot live without the people" and "Let us accomplish the Korean revolution with our own efforts!" to carry out the historic cause of national liberation.

Party and State Cadres Pay Homage to Kim Il Sung

     Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- Senior cadres of the Party and the state, servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and people from all walks of life Friday visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace to pay homage to President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of his demise. The palace was visited by senior party and state officials, chairpersons of friendly parties and leading officials of party and power organs, ministries, national institutions and social organizations.
    Seen in front of the President's statue was a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK.
    Written on the ribbons of the basket were letters "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung is immortal".
    Senior party and state officials expressed noble reverence up to the statue of the President.
    In the hall where the President lies in state they made deep bows.
    Then they looked round the orders, medals and diplomas of honorary titles awarded to the President at home and in foreign countries and his portrait with a sunny smile and carved bronze images in the mourners' hall, the train he used during his on-the-spot guidance and foreign trips and the car he used in the last time of his life.
    Anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, officials of different organs, KPA servicepersons and people of all strata visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace Friday.
    Meanwhile, foreign diplomatic corps, military attaches' corps and economic and commercial councilors' corps here, foreign guests staying here and overseas Koreans on a visit to the socialist homeland visited the palace to pay homage to the President.

Declaracion de Consejo de Religiosos de Corea

     Pyongyang, 8 de julio (ATCC) -- El portavoz del Consejo de Religiosos de Corea hizo publica el dia 7 una declaracion denunciando a la banda belicosa de Bush que llevo al fracaso una conferencia internacional propuesta por las prestigiosas entidades religiosas de EE.UU. El vocero hizo constatar que recientemente el Consejo Nacional de Iglesias Cristianas, la Conferencia Mundial de Religiosos por la Paz y otras prestigiosas entidades religiosas de EE.UU. tomaron iniciativa comun de celebrar en Nueva York el "Foro internacional por la paz en la Peninsula Coreana" para hacer aporte positivo al desarrollo de la situacion de esta peninsula asiatica y prosiguio:
    Es del todo positiva la intencion de las citadas entidades religiosas norteamericanas de convocarla en su propio territorio de donde genera el peligro de la guerra nuclear en la Peninsula Coreana.
    Damos consentimiento a la reiterada invitacion de las entidades religiosas norteamericanas al foro en cuestion y decidimos despachar una delegacion de religiosos y sabios de Corea mientras hicimos los preparativos para el aseguramiento exitoso del foro y luego de recibir oficialmente en abril pasado el aviso de permiso de visa por parte del Departamento de Estado norteamericano culminamos todos los tramites de entrada en EE.UU.
    No obstante, el Departamento de Estado norteamericano, unos dias antes de la partida de nuestra delegacion, cambio de repente de posicion sin motivo alguno y abrogo unilateralmente la ya aprobada entrada de nuestra delegacion.
    Esto es un acto descarado no visto en la historia de relaciones internacionales y una locura de Satanas que escupen a las entidades auspiciadoras.
