Korean People's Just Struggle Supported by Bangladesh Political Leader

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The DPRK remains the strongest-ever in its national power thanks to the Songun Policy of leader Kim Jong Il, said Dilip Barua, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist-Leninist), in a statement issued on July 25 on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle. He noted that his party would stand by the Korean people in their struggle for justice to the last, expressing belief that if the U.S. provokes the second Korean war, oblivious of its past setback, the Korean people will not miss the opportunity to fully settle accounts with it.
    The Korean people proved the truth before the world during the three year-long war that justice was sure to win thanks to the outstanding military thought and gifted strategy of President Kim Il Sung, he noted, and continued:

Korean People's Struggle Supported in Poland

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held in Warsaw on July 16 on the occasion of the month of international solidarity with the Korean people. Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Poland-Korea Association Apoloniusz Golik in a speech said that though half a century has passed since the ceasefire of the Korean war the armistice agreement still exists and Korea remains the only divided country in the world.
    It is entirely due to foreign forces and the U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea that the Korean people have suffered from the tragedy of division, he noted.
    He referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung advanced the most reasonable proposals for the country's reunification including the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo and worked heart and soul for their materialization and leader Kim Jong Il is successfully carrying out his last instructions for the country's reunification.
    Pointing out that the historic north-south joint declaration adopted on June 15, 2000, was provided thanks to Kim Jong Il's noble will for national reunification and bold decision, he sincerely wished Kim Jong Il greater success in his work to build a reunified prosperous and powerful nation.
    The participants in the meeting expressed firm solidarity with the Korean people in their struggle, stressing that they are demonstrating the might of socialist Korea before the world thanks to the Songun policy of Kim Jong Il and the DPRK's strong military power.

Cuban Embassy Officials Visit Kaesong

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Charge d'Affaires Caridad Adela Galan Pelegrino and staff members of the Cuban embassy here visited the city of Kaesong on July 28 on the occasion of the month of solidarity with the Cuban people. Being briefed on the fact that the city had been built in a peculiar style as an old historical and cultural city under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the visitors looked round the Koryo Museum, the Mausoleum of King Wang Kon, founder of Koryo, and other historical relics.

DPRK Foreign Minister Meets His Australian Counterpart

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun, staying in Vientiane to participate in the ministerial meeting of the 12th ASEAN Regional Forum now underway in Laos, met and had a talk with his Australian counterpart Alexander Downer on July 28. Present there from the DPRK side were the foreign minister's party and from the opposite side a vice-minister of Foreign Affairs and officials concerned.
    Both sides exchanged views on the issue of the bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern.

Re-depiction of Grand Mass Gymnastic and Artistic Performance "Arirang" Brisk

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Re-depiction of the grand mass gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" is brisk in the run-up to the 60th anniversaries of the Workers' Party of Korea and Korea's liberation. Participating in it are at least 100,000 famous creators and artistes of the DPRK including winners of international and national concours, youths and students.
    They have worked heart and soul to revise and supplement some scenes of the work as required by the times and perfect the representation, performing skill, costumes, stage decor and lighting on a higher level in a matter of a few months.
    As a result, they successfully held the first rehearsal of the extravaganza on July 26. Completed under the energetic guidance and care of leader Kim Jong Il, it was premiered in April, Juche 91 (2002), on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
    It caused a great sensation all over the world as it was rated as the greatest monumental masterpiece not only in terms of its content, style and scale but in the level of ideological value and artistic representation.
    The song "Arirang" representing the national emotion and soul of the Koreans is used as the basic thematic means for the work. It impressively tells the story that thanks to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Korea, once eclipsed on the world map, put an end to the history of national sufferings, greeted the dawn of national liberation and turned into a powerful socialist country, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence and is now demonstrating its might to the world, singing songs "Arirang for Songun," "Arirang for Prosperity."
    The work has a prelude, 4 sections and epilogue. It was highly acclaimed by the audience as it presented fantastic artistic scenes, a combination of famous songs, elegant and graceful dances spiced with national flavor, gymnastics and acrobatics requiring high technique, big and small modern lighting means, etc.
    The creators and performers are devoting themselves to re-depicting the work as a smash hit representing the new century.

U.S. Urged to Drop Its Policy for Military Supremacy

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Solidarity of Youth and Students for Implementing the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration reportedly made public a statement on July 25, 52 years after the conclusion of the Armistice Agreement. The statement said it is entirely attributable to the U.S. policy for military supremacy that the AA has not yet been changed into a peace agreement.
    The U.S. has pursued the hostile policy towards the north, sought to keep its military presence in south Korea for ever and engaged itself on the war moves, unilaterally disregarding the AA as the primary object of its Korean Peninsula policy was to "collapse the north by means of war", it pointed out.
    Contending that the way for the denuclearization and independent and peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula is to replace the AA with a peace agreement, the statement urged the U.S. not to seek to keep the armistice system on the peninsula but withdraw its policy for military supremacy.

U.S.-Japan Century-long Conspiracy and Tie-up in Korean Aggression Assailed

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The century-long history of U.S.-Japan conspiracy in Korean aggression goes to clearly prove that the U.S. imperialist aggressors and the Japanese militarists' ambition and moves for aggression have been intensified with the passage of time and that they are the sworn enemies of the Korean people as they have inflicted all sorts of misfortune and pain upon the Koreans for such a long period. The DPRK History Society said this in a lengthy memorandum dealing with the history of the Korean aggression through U.S.-Japan conspiracy issued Thursday on the occasion of the centenary of the fabrication of the criminal "Taft-Katsura Agreement" (July 29).
    The memorandum included such sub-titles as "1. Fabrication of Taft-Katsura Agreement", "2. Occupation of Korea by the Japanese Imperialists and Their Colonial Rule under the U.S. Patronage", "3. Conspirator Who Had Brought Tragedy of Division and War" and "4. Dangerous Conspirator Who Seeks to Reinvade, Isolate and Stifle the DPRK".
    The memorandum cited concrete historical facts and materials to prove that the U.S. and the Japanese imperialists had conspired with each other in the efforts to invade Korea since the mid-19th century and the conclusion of the criminal agreement formally recognized Japan's colonization of Korea, thus putting the U.S.-Japan nexus on a new stage, and helped Japan fabricate the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" and put Korea under its military control under the patronage of the U.S.
    This criminal conspiracy and nexus went on during the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and have persisted still today, gaining in new dimension, the memorandum noted, and continued:
    At the end of the Second World War the U.S.-Japan conspiracy in the moves to invade Korea found its manifestation in the U.S. imperialists' drawing of the 38th parallel to divide Korea and in the U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea after the defeat of the Japanese imperialists.
    The U.S. imperialists fixed the 38th parallel, a temporary limit line drawn for the military occupation by the Soviet and U.S. forces to accept the surrender of the Imperial Japanese Army, as a tragic dividing line which brought the tragedy of division to the Korean nation.
    . This proves that the Japanese imperialists had directly helped the U.S. imperialists in their efforts to divide Korea.
    Japan also actively helped the U.S. imperialists in their occupation of Korea and the enforcement of "military administration."
    It also took an active part in the Korean war of aggression launched by the U.S. imperialists and closely cooperated with them in military operations.
    Japan, at the instruction of the U.S. imperialists, dispatched not only ground forces but huge air and naval forces and technical personnel to the Korean front and produced and supplied munitions by special orders of the U.S. forces. It also actively conspired and cooperated with the U.S. in its germ warfare.
    In the 1990s after the end of the Cold War the U.S. imperialists and the Japanese reactionaries kicked up a frantic anti-DPRK racket over the fiction of "nuclear suspicion" in the DPRK and the issue of "missile threat" from it in a bid to block the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.
    The U.S. and Japan have rendered the situation on the Korean Peninsula extremely tense under the pretext of "nuclear issue."
    The U.S. staged madcap war exercises after working out "OPLAN 5027," "OPLAN 5027-98," "OPLAN 5030", "OPLAN 5029-05" and various other codenamed scenarios for war against the DPRK and shipping modern war means into south Korea. It conducted aerial espionage to mount a surprise attack on the DPRK and engineered frequent military clashes.
    Even this January it designated the DPRK as an "outpost of tyranny" and disclosed its attempt to realize a "regime change" by force.
    Fully supporting the U.S. imperialists in their hostile policy towards the DPRK, the Japanese reactionaries reduced the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration into a dead document, cooked up the "Law on Contingency" and came out for overseas aggression in real earnest. These days they are working hard, with the U.S. imperialists, to isolate and stifle the DPRK, hamstringing the six-party talks with a hue and cry over "nuclear and missile issues" and the "abduction issue."
    The Korean people will never forget the criminal history of aggression committed by the U.S. imperialists and the Japanese militarists, who have inflicted only pain and misfortune upon the Korean nation, but certainly take a thousand-fold revenge upon the sworn enemies by their concerted efforts and achieve the independent reunification of the country, their cherished desire, without fail.

U.S.-Japan Collusion under Fire

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- A century has passed since the fabrication of the "Taft-Katsura Agreement", a product of collusion between the U.S. and Japan to invade Korea. Rodong Sinmun Friday says in a signed commentary carried in this connection: The U.S. has zealously supported and backed Japan in its moves for reinvasion and militarization in a bid to use it as a shock force in waging the second Korean war while Japan has strongly backed the U.S. and closely cooperated with it in the latter's hostile policy toward the DPRK and moves for a war of aggression against it in an effort to realize Tokyo's wild ambition for reinvasion of Korea and old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere".
    The U.S. and Japan are tightening their collusion and nexus in pursuing their hostile policy towards the DPRK. Both are the sworn enemies of the Korea nation in the true sense of the words because they have tormented the Koreans and imposed the history of unbearable national tragedy upon them for the last one century.
    The U.S. and Japanese reactionaries have worked hard to realize their shameless wild ambition to dominate the DPRK through collusion to invade it. But this is nothing but a day-dream. The Koreans have struggled against the U.S. and Japan's moves for aggression for last one century. The Korean nation is no longer what used to be in the past when it was so weak as to undergo distress due to the imperialists.
    The DPRK is now demonstrating its dignity all over the world as an independent, dignified and powerful nation which no outside force on earth can dare provoke. All the Koreans in the north and the south and overseas will unite as one in the idea of "By our nation itself" to wipe out the outside forces keen on aggression and domination and thus surely bring the day of independent reunification.
    The U.S. and Japan should properly understand the might, will and spirit of the Korean nation and behave themselves. The entire Korean nation will hold higher the banner of "By our nation itself" and deter U.S. and Japan from colluding with each other in their moves for aggression and domination over Korea through national cooperation and achieve a final victory in the 100 year-long stand-off with them.

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was presented with a floral basket by the first Japanese delegation for the study of the Juche idea on a visit to the DPRK. It was handed to an official concerned by Yoshio Suzuki, president of the Hokkaido Society for the Study of Kim Jong Il Works, who is leading the delegation.

Start of Campaign for National Interests against Outsiders Declared

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The Chondoists and activists in the national movement in the north and the south of Korea held a meeting proclaiming the days from July 29, 100 years since the fabrication of the piratical "Taft-Katsura Agreement" by the U.S. and Japanese imperialists, to November 17, 100 years since the fabrication of the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty", as a period for a "campaign for opposing foreign forces and promoting the national interests and welfare of people." And they issued a joint declaration dated July 29 in Pyongyang and Seoul in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Chondoist Chongu Party, the Council for Reunification of the Tangun Nation, the Council for Reunification of the Tong Hak Nation and the General Federation of the National Movement Camp. The declaration said:
    One hundred years have passed since Japan committed the above-said crimes. However, it is stepping up its militarization under the patronage of the U.S. and openly revealing its attempt at reinvasion of Korea, far from making a full apology and compensation to the Koreans for its aggression, occupation and plunder.
    We, the Chondoists who regard it as their objective to promote the national interests and welfare of people and broadly salve the people, set it as the slogan of their struggle to reject the West and Japan and fight against tyranny and save the people and put it as the way of accomplishing them to achieve unity in purpose and promote virtues in the world, held, together with representatives of various organizations of the national movement, a meeting in Pyongyang and Seoul today to resolutely denounce the crimes of the imperialist big powers, reflecting the burning hatred and resentment at the foreign forces.
    Proclaiming the days from July 29 to November 11, one hundred years since the fabrication of the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty", as a period of the campaign for opposing foreign forces and promoting the national interests and welfare of people, we solemnly declare before the world that we will never allow the destiny of our fellow countrymen to be flouted by foreign forces once again.
    We will take an active part in the struggle to defend and glorify the dignity of the nation through the cooperation between the north and the south in the idea of "By our nation itself," with the pride and honor of being members of the best Korean nation.     This year which marks the 60th anniversary of the defeat of Japanese imperialism and the centenary of the fabrication of the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" we should force Japan to make full apology and compensation for its past crimes and, at the same time, to truly repent of its ambition for reinvasion.
    We the Chondoists in the north and the south will revive the spirit of promoting the national interests and welfare of people and rejecting Japan and arousing the people to a righteous act and thus valiantly wage a joint anti-Japanese struggle.
    We will remove from this land the danger of a nuclear war, a produce of the collusion of imperialism, and wage a relentless struggle to achieve peace and reunification of the country.
    Let the 70 million Koreans thoroughly defend and uphold the basic spirit of the June 15 joint declaration and vigorously advance to achieve peace and reunification of the country by their concerted efforts.
    We Korean religionists and members of the organizations of the national movement united in the national spirit and idea are firmly determined to take the lead in this sacred patriotic movement.

Individual Art Show Held in DPRK

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- A show of art works presented by People's Artist Ri Kyong Nam and Choe Ung Gwon of the Mansudae Art Studio took place at the Pyongyang International House of Culture from July 14 to 28. On display there were over 60 Korean paintings and 80 porcelains.
    Ri and Choe are famous at home and abroad as talented artists of Korean painting and ceramic workmanship.
    Ri has created a lot of figure, landscape, flower and bird paintings over the last three decades, thus making a contribution to the development of Korean painting.
    Typical of his masterpieces are Korean paintings "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung meeting with people of Onsong in Mt. Wangjae" and "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung giving field guidance to Yaksu Middle School" and landscapes "Forest", "Winter" and "Puryong clad with willow".
    A number of his Korean paintings were exhibited at international art shows. And his Korean painting "Mt. Paektu" won a special prize at the 12th world youth water-color landscape contest held in Italy in October 1990.
    Choe has also created lots of ceramic works over the past 28 years.
    Such works as "Grape-patterned flower vase", "Peach-patterned pencil stand", "Squash-patterned kettle" and "Pine tree-patterned flower vase" are perfect in ideological and artistic content.
    He has presented more than 50 ceramic works to 20-odd national art exhibitions to win prizes. His white ceramics including a flower vase patterned with tug-of-war of children and a vase patterned with sledding of children were highly appreciated at national art exhibitions for well reflecting peculiarities of the traditional white ceramic workmanship created during the Ri Dynasty. They are on display at the Korean Art Gallery.
    Meanwhile, some 180 ceramic works created by him were displayed at international art shows held in Russia, Singapore, Germany and Japan.

New Software Developed in DRPK

     Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- The Taehung Information Centre under the Korea Taehung General Corporation has developed "Hyesong" (comet) 3.0, a chemical reaction computer aided design (CRCAD). It is one of the final goals to be hit in the research into organic synthetic chemistry. The purpose of "Hyesong" 3.0, based on a unique and new principle, is to search the reasonable and possible path of material synthesis by comprehensively applying the most advanced scientific and technical success achieved by the classical, quantum and statistic mechanics, statistic trial method, information science and so on.
    It is equipped with systems as following:
    1. The search system of all the possible paths through the reserve and direct synthetic analysis methods.
    2. The search system of the elementary reaction to elucidate the reaction mechanism. 3. Calculation system of the eigenreaction coordinates to calculate the activation energy and the eigenrate constant.
    4. Simulation system of the reaction system to calculate the rate coefficient.
    5. System test and help system.
    It was passed in the state software quality check and registered on the intellectual patent list of the DPRK in Juche 93(2004).
    Paek Yong Chol of Taehung Information Center, who led the developing team of "Hyesong" 3.0, told KCNA that the software would make a contribution to a leaping development of the material civilization of humankind.
