Italian Organization on U.S. Defeat in Last Korean War

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- The Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy published the September issue of its organ La Voce as a special issue. It said that it is disgraceful for the United States to have painted itself as a "liberator that brought democracy" while distorting the Korean war till now. In an article titled "July 27, 1953 in which the U.S. was defeated for the first time in history, Armistice Agreement was signed at Panmunjom" the special issue noted that the Korean war was a premeditated war ignited by the U.S. to realize its ambition to dominate Asia and the rest of the world after occupying south Korea under the pretext of "disarming" the Japanese troops after the liberation of Korea.
The U.S. mobilized many latest weapons including biological and chemical weapons in the Korean war but suffered only setbacks in battles as it failed to judge the ideological and moral strength of the heroic Korean people, it said.
The Korean war clearly proved that the people struggling for the freedom and liberation of their country against colonialism can never be brought to their knees, it stressed.

Kim Il Sung Lauded by Foreign Figures

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- Political figures of Romania and India issued statements on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Korea. Niculae Pavelescu, vice-chairman of the Left United Party of Romania, in a statement on August 12 referred to the fact that President Kim Il Sung put forward the line of armed struggle in his early years and aroused the broad masses to the anti-Japanese struggle to liberate the country.
The Korean people are now working hard to accelerate the independent and peaceful reunification of the country while energetically pushing forward socialist construction under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il, he noted.
It is our hope that the north and the south of Korea would achieve the reunification as early as possible through their concerted efforts true to the behests of the President and thus Korea would throw its rays as a strong and prospering country, he added. G. Debarajan, secretary of the Central Committee of the All-India Forward Bloc, in a statement on August 15 highly praised the undying feats of the President who, after embarking upon the road of revolution at his early age, struggled for the freedom and liberation of the people for 20 years and finally freed Korea from the yoke of the Japanese imperialists.
The liberation of Korea was a historic event which enabled the Korean people to emerge a dignified people hewing out their destiny under the leadership of Kim Il Sung whom they acclaimed for the first time in the history spanning thousands of years.

UFL-05 Joint Military Exercises Flailed

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- The Association for Friendship with the Korean People having its branches in different countries issued a statement on August 29, in which it denounced the "Ulji Focus Lens-05" joint military exercises started by the United States in south Korea as a grave challenge and provocation to the aspiration of the Korean people for reunification and the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and a wanton violation of the desire of the progressives for peace and security of the world. The brigandish aim of the war game is to round off preparations for a preemptive attack on the DPRK, drive the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the extreme pitch of strain and thus check the process of favorably developing reconciliation and cooperation between the north and the south and force the unreasonable demand of the U.S. through the six-party talks, the statement noted.
The U.S. and the south Korean authorities should promptly stop their moves for a war against the north and withdraw the U.S. troops from south Korea without delay, clearly seeing the will of the Korean nation to accelerate the reunification of the country through the three forms of cooperation--national independence, peace against war and reunification and patriotism--under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration, it said.
It expressed firm solidarity with the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front and the south Korean people from all walks of life in the vigorous anti-U.S. patriotic struggle to check and frustrate the moves of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities for unleashing a war against the north and put an end to the U.S. colonial domination over south Korea.

Nadezhdina, was interviewed by KCNA at the airport Wednesday before leaving for home after a visit to the DPRK.     This time, she went on, the troupe put the immortal revolutionary paean "Song of General Kim Jong Il" on the stage as the first number with deepest reverence for him who performed great feats for the development of Russia-DPRK friendship and the cause of global independence. It came with the women's group dance "The Volga," a special piece created for him.
We are really envious of the Korean artistes for having him, she said.

Day of Non-alignment Observed

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- Today is Day of Non-alignment. Rodong Sinmun today dedicates a signed article to it, which reads in part: The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) has invariably adhered to the noble idea of independence against imperialism and waged an unceasing struggle against the imperialists' domination and subjugation, aggression and war moves and for independence and peace and given a powerful stimulus to the advance of the era since it declared its birth to the world.
NAM is faced with heavy and important tasks in accelerating the historical development in the new century.
The non-aligned countries should hold aloft the banner of unity in the struggle to implement the idea of independence against imperialism. Unity based on respect for independence is the fundamental guarantee for the continued progress of the movement and the ultimate realization of the noble idea of independence against imperialism. Close economic cooperation among those countries is an important way of cementing the unity and solidarity of the movement and solving difficult and complicated problems arising in the building of a new society. South-South cooperation based on collective self-reliance is the only way for them to achieve independent development and socio-economic progress, free from the economic pressure and exploitation and pillage by the imperialists.
The non-aligned countries must never be involved in any bloc nor allow such abnormal acts as causing antagonism and distrust in the movement and spoiling its purity. The movement will pick up momentum and its might grow when all the non-aligned countries act in accordance with its basic idea and principle of activities and make positive efforts to assure its purity and unity.
The most important task facing the movement at present is to frustrate the moves for aggression and war committed by the U.S. imperialists under the pretext of "combating terrorism".
Over the past years the DPRK has remained faithful to the idea and principle of NAM and made energetic efforts for its development. A dignified member of NAM, the DPRK will uphold the purity and principle of the movement and fulfill its obligation and role for its development and triumphant advance.
The non-aligned countries should bend joint efforts to increase the action capacity of the movement and enhance its position and role. NAM will be invulnerable and its idea will become a living reality.

Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from S. Korea Urged

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- Had the United States not occupied south Korea, Korea would not have been divided into two and had the U.S. not stood in the way of Korea's reunification, the Korean nation would have already achieved it long ago. Rodong Sinmun Thursday observes this in a signed article. It goes on: The Korean nation achieved the historic cause of national liberation from the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists on August 15 60 years ago. But for the U.S. occupation of Korea, the Koreans would have already built a unified independent sovereign state and established national sovereignty throughout Korea.
The U.S. occupied the south of Korea, not a defeated country, by force of arms, interfering in its affairs, though it made no contribution to the cause of Korean liberation. This brought the tragic partition of Korea into the north and the south and this disgraceful history has lasted for 60 years.
The U.S. is a cancer-like entity as it has stood in the way of the uniform development of the Korean nation, pursuing a policy of colonial subjugation in south Korea for 60 years. The 60-year-long history and the present reality clearly prove that the U.S. policy of domination over south Korea is one of evil as it has savagely trampled down upon the destiny of the Korean nation.
The U.S. is the chieftain of aggression and war as it has obstructed the reunification of Korea and threatened the security of the Korean nation.
It has staged ceaseless large-scale war exercises for aggression on the DPRK while making the outbreak of the second Korean war an established fact and steadily modifying and supplementing its scenarios for a war of aggression, far from drawing a lesson from a bitter defeat it sustained in the last Korean war. The Koreans should not allow the U.S. to perpetrate any more high-handed and arbitrary practices.
The 70 million Koreans in the north and the south and overseas should unite as one under the banner of "By our nation itself" to drive the U.S. imperialists out of south Korea and bring about the second August 15 liberation as early as possible.

Ardent Patriotism Shown by Great Men

Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- Forty-five years have elapsed since leader Kim Jong Il entered Kim Il Sung University in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. On September 1, Juche 49 (1960), his first day in the university, he climbed Ryongnam Hill where he wrote and recited an immortal poem "Korea, I Will Glorify Thee" with an unswerving will to bring the Juche revolutionary cause started by President Kim Il Sung to completion.
He, in the poem, manifested his will to fully grasp the profound revolutionary ideas of the President in Korea and fulfill his responsibility for the Korean revolution. He had already made up his mind to study at Kim Il Sung University. He visited Moscow University of the former USSR in January 1959. At that time, a diplomat of that country recommended him to study at the university after his graduation from the senior middle school. But Kim Jong Il told him he wanted to study at Kim Il Sung University in Korea.
The answer fully reflected his boundless loyalty to the President and ardent love for the fatherland and the people.
Many years ago, Kim Il Sung, too, refused to study in a foreign country. When he was engaged in energetic revolutionary activities after the release from the Jilin prison, Comintern advised him to go to Moscow for study. But he took the choice of finding himself among people, not going to Moscow, saying that he could study Marxism-Leninism through books but could not become a revolutionary for the Korean revolution apart from his people.
Thanks to this ardent patriotism shown by the peerlessly great men, the Korean revolution has advanced successfully along the orbit of Juche even under the ever-changing international context.
