Eradication of Discord in Unequal Society Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- The People's Solidarity for Eradicating the Social Inequality (People's Solidarity) called a press conference for the formation of the organization on Sept. 22 at which it urged the authorities to eliminate the discord in the unequal society, according to a news report.
The People's Solidarity groups at least 130 civic and social bodies including the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Federation of Korean Trade Unions, the National Federation of Peasants Associations, the People's Solidarity of south Korea and the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society.
An inaugural declaration read out at the news conference put forward the tasks for social reforms in seven fields such as the guarantee of the right to the part-timers and improvement of the minimum wage system.
Ri Su Ho, chairman of the confederation, in his speech said that the part-time workers and the unemployed are the victims of the social inequality, calling on the labor movement bodies to spearhead the movement.
Kim Hye Gyong, representative of the Democratic Workers' Party, declared that the party would conduct activities inside the "National Assembly" for the guarantee of the rights to the workers and the improvement of the standard of their living in support of the People's Solidarity.
Information Bulletin on DPRK Issued in Switzerland
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- The Swiss Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea issued an Information Bulletin No. 9.
The bulletin carries news that the Swiss committee presented gifts to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Korea's liberation and aphorisms of Kim Jong Il.
It also introduces in detail the revolutionary life of the members of the family of the President on the occasion of the 50th death anniversary of Kim Po Hyon, grandfather of the President.
Carried in the bulletin are a statement issued by the Swiss committee in denunciation of the "Ulji Focus Lens-05" joint military exercises staged by the U.S. in south Korea and articles including one condemning Japan's blasting of the "Ukishima-maru" 60 years back and its other crimes perpetrated in the past .
Kim Jong Il's Work Off Press in Nigeria
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Workers' Party of Korea Is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" was brought out in booklet by the Enugu Publishing House of Nigeria on Sept. 19.
The work, published on Oct. 2, Juche 84 (1995), serves as a great programme for the building of the WPK and its activity as it proudly reviews the glorious history of the WPK that explored a new road of building a revolutionary party in the era of independence under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and indicates the way of developing the Party into the eternal party of the President.
Japan's Disturbing Military Moves under Fire
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Japan is contemplating setting up the command of the "rapid reaction force" of its ground "Self-Defence Force" in Jama base, Kanagawa, a U.S. forces' base in Japan, and transferring the general command of its Air SDF to the Yokoda base of the U.S. air force in Japan under the pretext of "combating terrorism".
In this regard Rodong Sinmun Monday observes in a signed commentary: It is Japan's plan to realize the "integration" of the SDF and the U.S. troops and coordinate the commanding system of the armed forces whereby the SDF will operate along the U.S. forces under a unified command.
The hasty action taken by Japan to this end cannot be construed otherwise than a very dangerous military move, the commentary says, and continues:
Japan can make a retrogressive revision of its present constitution anytime and a social atmosphere for it has already been created. It is against this background that Japan is frantically pushing forward the arms buildup and taking an active part in the development of the U.S. missile defence system (MD).
Japan regards it as the only way of its overseas aggression to tighten its military alliance with the U.S. and avail itself of the U.S. "war against terrorism".
Precisely for this reason Japan is keen to realize the "integration" of the SDF and the U.S. troops at an early date. Through this Japan seeks to drive its SDF to overseas aggression with ease, taking advantage of the U.S. acts of aggression and war.
It is the main strategy of Japan for overseas aggression to realize its wild ambition for staging a comeback to Korea and realize its old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" under the patronage of the U.S., using the Japan-U.S. military alliance as a lever for starting a war.
Japan would be well advised to stop acting rashly, pondering over the disastrous consequences to be entailed by its reckless moves to realize its wild ambition for overseas aggression.
Rodong Sinmun on Line of Independent Reunification
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- The idea and line of the Workers' Party of Korea on national reunification have given full play to great vitality with the support of all the fellow countrymen as they are the original and patriotic idea and line embodying national independence and the scientific and realistic idea and line serving as the most correct guidelines of the reunification movement.
Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a signed article.

The remarkable events and achievements in the north-south relations and the movement for national reunification are a clear demonstration of the validity and vitality of the Party's patriotic line of national reunification, the cornerstone of which is national independence.
The line of national reunification the Party laid down from the outset of its foundation and has invariably maintained in the whole course of the reunification movement is the line of thorough-going national independence to achieve the complete independence and sovereignty of the country and the nation and the genuine patriotic line for the development of a reunified country and the prosperity of the whole nation.
This line most correctly reflects the desire of all the fellow countrymen to establish the sovereignty of the nation on a nationwide scale and glorify the dignity of the nation.
Nation-wide functions for reunification were held irrespective of differences in idea and ideology, authorities, civilians, systems and religious belief in June marking the 5th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration and in August marking the 60th anniversary of Korea's liberation. This is a clear demonstration of the validity and vitality of the Party's line of national independence as it is an expression of the steadfast will of the fellow countrymen to establish national sovereignty.
The 10-point programme for the great unity of the whole nation advanced by President Kim Il Sung and the five-point policy of great national unity set forth by leader Kim Jong Il in the sacred work for national unity have served as the banner of national reconciliation and unity and the guidelines of action. The driving force of reunification has been immensely strengthened in the course of applying the 10-point programme and the five-point policy and it has become the powerful motive force of stepping up the cause of independent reunification.
Any ordeals and challenges cannot arrest the dynamic advance of the cause of reunification as it is guided by the just grand programme of reunification common to the nation put forward by the Party.
Russian Ensemble Performs in Wonsan
Wonsan, September 25 (KCNA) -- The visiting State Academy Ensemble of the Ministry of Interior of Russia gave its performances in Wonsan on Sept. 24 and 25.
The ensemble's repertoire included wartime songs created and widely sung by the Soviet army and people in the crucible of the struggle against the fascist aggressors during the Great Patriotic War and colorful dances showing the national sentiment and lifestyle of the Russians.
The Russian artistes enthusiastically sang Korean songs including the immortal revolutionary paeans "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and "Song of General Kim Jong Il," deeply impressing the audience.
They truthfully represented with high artistry wartime songs such as "Just War," "Lantern," "Polyusko-Pole," "Belachao," chorus and orchestra "The Song of Defenders of Moscow," male solo and choruses "My Heroic Soldiers," "I Have Come from Berlin," "Officers" and "Black Crow" to the acclaim of the audience.
The dancers of the ensemble successfully depicted with refined talent and dynamic rhythms the optimistic life and emotion of the Russian soldiers and people in such numbers as "Dance of Guerrillas," "Market in Russia," "Moscow Dance Music" and "Gypsy Dance."
Its presentations were well received by the audiences.
Preparatory Comm. for Celebrating 60th Birthday of WPK Formed in Indonesia
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- An Indonesian Preparatory Committee for Celebrating the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea was inaugurated by the Indonesia-Korea Association for Friendship and Cultural Exchange on Sept. 23.
Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, chairman of the association, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.
The preparatory committee set a celebration period from Sept. 23 to Oct. 10 and decided to organize colorful functions in this period.
Cambodian Committee for Celebrating 60th Birthday of WPK Inaugurated
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- A Cambodian preparatory committee was formed in Phnom Penh on Sept. 22 with due ceremony in celebration of the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea (October 10).
Norodom Sirivuth, secretary general of the Funcinpec Party of Cambodia and deputy prime minister and co-minister of Interior of the Royal government, was elected chairman of the preparatory committee at the inaugural ceremony.
The preparatory committee decided to hold multifarious functions such as a seminar, film show, photo exhibition and press publication to introduce the exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in party building on the occasion.
Suppression of Patriotic Youths and Students under Fire in S. Korea
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Students under the general student councils of Chungang University, Dongguk University and Dankook University and members of the student committee of the Democratic Workers' Party in south Korea held a protest rally in Seoul on Sept. 21 to denounce the security authorities' crackdown on patriotic youths and students, according to a news report.
Speakers at the rally referred to the fact that the security authorities on the same day walked away Pak Ji Hyon, director of the organizing department of the student committee of the Democratic Workers' Party who was wanted by the police, on charges of the violation of the "National Security Law."
They condemned the police for intensifying its tough counteraction for good results, charging that the police issued a summons against Chairwoman of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils Song Hyo Won and Chairman of its National Reunification Committee Kim Ji Ha on charges of spearheading the struggle for the withdrawal of the statue of MacArthur.
They expressed their will to pool the efforts of students to positively counter the security authorities' indiscriminate suppression.
KCTU Meeting Demands Better Labor Policy
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions reportedly held a rally in front of the building of the "National Assembly" on Sept. 22 in demand of a better labor policy.
Ri Su Ho, chairman of the confederation, and others, addressing the rally, held that the regular session of the "National Assembly" should fairly examine the government policies concerning the guarantee of rights to the part-time workers, the withdrawal of the structural coordination, the stop to the suppression of the labor movement, the improvement of the minimum wage system and labor safety measures, etc.
A resolution read out at the rally referred to the fact that the three labor rights had virtually been trampled down due to the authorities' pressure for the withdrawal from the trade union and their measures taken to close workshops and others, expressing the will to struggle for the improvement of the poor labor conditions to the last man.
At the end of the rally its participants waged an all-night demonstration in front of the building of the NA.
The KCTU threatened to escalate its actions, including protest rally and tour of different parts of south Korea to stage its struggle.
WPK Birthday Commemorated in Different Countries
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- A lecture meeting and a photo exhibition were held by the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung and film shows by the Secretariat of the Ugandan National Movement and the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of University of Kinshasa from Sept. 16 to 18 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Displayed at the venue of the functions were photos showing the proud successes achieved by the Korean people under the leadership of the WPK in last six decades.
Korean films including "'The Ever-Victorious Workers' Party of Korea', Grand Gymnastic and Artistic Performance Celebrating the 55th Anniversary of the WPK" were screened at the film shows.
Chairman of the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung Balzor Singh Chauhan said in a lecture titled "The Source of the WPK Might " that it is the result of the outstanding and tested leadership of Kim Jong Il that the WPK could demonstrate its dignity and might as the guiding force of the Korean people.
The deputy director of the Foreign Relations Department of the Secretariat of the Ugandan National Movement at the film show said that the party building experience of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il is a paragon the Ugandan National Movement and revolutionary parties of many countries should follow.
Meanwhile, a lecture titled "WPK demonstrating its might thanks to the outstanding leader" was given by the Secretariat of the Pan-African Movement on Sept. 19.
Kim Yong Nam Meets South African Foreign Ministry Delegation
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) --Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a friendly talk with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa led by Deputy Minister Aziz Goolam Hoosein Pahad at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Monday.

Gift to Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was presented with a gift by the head of the visiting delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa.
It was handed to President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly Kim Yong Nam Monday by Aziz Goolam Hoosein Pahad, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, who is leading the delegation.
Kumya Ginkgo, Natural Monument
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- There is a 2,120-odd years old ginkgo at the compound of the Anbul Temple, a historic relic, in Tonghung-ri of Kumya County, South Hamgyong Province, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The ginkgo, which has been registered as a natural monument, is 42 meters in height, 18.2 meters in the girth at the bottom and 15.5 meters in the girth at the middle.
The tree bears more than 300 kilograms of fruits on a yearly average.
It has two nipple-shaped knobs on its trunk. It is said that a knob comes into being once every a thousand years. The bigger one is 10 cm and the other 5 cm in diameter respectively. And they contain much starch.
This year the tree has produced unusually bumper fruits and dozens of sprouts shot out on its roots exposed to the ground.
President Kim Il Sung instructed officials to take a step to protect the tree during the Fatherland Liberation War and leader Kim Jong Il went round it during his field guidance in April Juche 92 (2003).
The Kumya ginkgo is of great scientific significance.
Childrenfs Scene of "Arirang"
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- "Grow with a Bright Smile", the Scene 2 of the Act 2 of the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" arouses a particular interest of the audience.
Very impressive are the cute and skilful gymnastic movements of children showing their cheerful features healthily growing to be future pillars of Songun Korea.
The performers, kindergarten and primary school children below ten years, skillfully carry out such movements as hand-standing, somersault, formation of human pyramid and rope-skipping to the tune of "The General and Children" and other songs. Most of the kindergarten children have come from the Changgwang Kindergarten, the kindergarten attached to the Pyongyang Textile Mill and Ponbu Kindergarten in Sinuiju.
In particular, when the lovely children wearing national costumes tactfully play rope skipping, the audience sends a thunderous applause to them, seized with joy.
The background figures pictures and words reflecting the childrenfs feeling, thus adding luster to the thematic content of the work.

Talks Held between DPRK and Cuban Delegations
Havana, September 24 (KCNA) -- Talks were held between the DPRK delegation headed by Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, and the Cuban delegation led by Carlos Rage, vice-president of the Council of State, in Havana on Sept. 24.
At the talks both sides informed each other of the situation in their countries and exchanged views on the issue of boosting the friendly relations between the two countries and a series of issues of mutual concern.
Present there from the DPRK side were members of the DPRK delegation on a visit to Cuba and Pak Tong Chun, DPRK ambassador to Cuba, and from the Cuban side Marcos Rodriguez Costa, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.
South Koreans' Tour of Pyongyang Begins
Pyongyang, September 26 (KCNA) -- There has begun south Koreans' tour of Pyongyang.
The first visiting group of the Headquarters of the Movement for Reunified Korea arrived here by air Monday.

@Pyongyang, 26 de septiembre (ATCC) -- En estos dias, Japon intenta instalar la comandancia de la "unidad de disposicion inmediata" de las "fuerzas terrestres de autodefensa", que se organiza bajo el pretexto de "antiterrorismo" en la base de Jama de Kanagawa donde estan acantonadas las tropas norteamericanas, y trasladar la comandancia general de las "fuerzas aereas de autodefensa" a la base estadounidense de aviacion en Yokoda.
Japon se propone lograr la "integracion" de sus "fuerzas de autodefensa" y las tropas norteamericanas y la unificacion del sistema de mando de las fuerzas armadas de ambos paises para ponerlas en accion a la vez. Este plan que impulsa apresuradamente Japon es un peligrosisimo movimiento militar.
Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 26 y continua:
Hoy dia la draconizacion de la constitucion vigente de Japon es cuestion de hora y ya esta preparado el ambiente social para ello. Valiendose de ello, Japon se precipita locamente por el camino del aumento armamentista y se incorpora activamente al desarrollo del sistema antimisiles de EE.UU.
Japon ve la unica salida para su agresion a ultramar en el mayor fortalecimiento de su alianza militar con EE.UU. y en la adhesion activa a la "guerra antiterrorista" de este.
Para este fin, Japon se apresura para lograr la "integracion" de sus "fuerzas de autodefensa" y las tropas norteamericanas. Solo de esta manera, Japon puede aprovechar los actos de agresion y guerra de EE.UU. como una oportunidad para lanzar sus "fuerzas de autodefensa" al camino de la agresion a ultramar.
Realizar la ambicion de nueva agresion a Corea valiendose de la palanca de guerra que es la "alianza militar Japon-EE.UU." y bajo el amparo de este ultimo y lograr a todo trance el antiguo sueno de la "esfera de coprosperidad de gran Asia Oriental", esto es la estrategia principal de agresion a ultramar de Japon.

Minju Joson comenta nueva doctrina de uso de armas nucleares de EE.UU.
@Pyongyang, 26 de septiembre (ATCC) -- Estados Unidos niega la existente guia de empleo de armas nucleares y trata de preparar la otra nueva para tomar la posicion monopolista en la esfera del armamento nuclear estrategico, superar a sus rivales y atacar despiadadamente a los paises que desafian a su intento de establecer el orden de globalizacion dirigida por si mismo.
Senala asi el periodico Minju Joson en un comentario individual del dia 25 y prosigue:
Tal doctrina del Tio Sam es mas belicosa y ofensiva.
Llega al climax la locura nuclear de EE.UU. enajenado en la "omnipotencia nuclear".
Si el pais estadounidense prepara nueva doctrina de uso de armas nucleares, sera inevitable que otras potencias, a su vez, para mantener el equilibrio estrategico, recurran a revisar su respectivo sistema de uso de armas nucleares, dando lugar a la nueva carrera armamentista nuclear.
Esto demuestra que EE.UU. es fautor de la amenaza y proliferacion de armas nucleares en el mundo.
Indudablemente, se tornaran mas abiertos el despotismo y las arbitrariedades de EE.UU. agitando el garrote nuclear.
La realidad prueba cuan justa y sagaz es la politica de Songun (priorizacion militar) del Partido del Trabajo de Corea que permitio fortalecer por todos los medios la fuerza de detencion para defenderse de la creciente amenaza nuclear de EE.UU.
El ejercito y el pueblo de Corea se sienten orgullosos de ello.
El garrote nuclear de EE.UU. no puede surtir efecto ante el poderio de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea que tiene el espiritu de independencia mas firme que nadie y dispone de suficientes medios de autodefensa
Si EE.UU. provoca imprudentemente una guerra nuclear contra la RPDC, nuestro ejercito y pueblo ejerceran dignamente su legitimo derecho autodefensivo a traves de los poderosos medios de represalia.
EE.UU. no es el unico pais poseedor del armamento nuclear. Ya ha pasado la epoca de la omnipotencia nuclear.
