WPK Praised

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Ricardo Chavez Gutieres, chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Mexico, issued a statement "The Workers' Party of Korea will always shine as the party of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" on Sept. 22 on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the WPK. It says:
    The WPK could emerge victorious over the last six decades as President Kim Il Sung strengthened it into an ever-victorious party.
    The President regarded the strengthening of the party as a key to all victories and successfully led the revolution and construction with the party as a powerful weapon. The idea and behests of the President serve as immutable guidelines for the WPK. It is by no means fortuitous that the WPK is publicly recognized as a truly revolutionary party remaining steadfast in its long history, unshaken in any storm and stress.
    It is the peculiar character of the WPK that it has led the revolution and construction the way the President did, following his leadership art.
    The WPK has firmly preserved its character and tradition and demonstrated its might, while glorifying the august name of its founder, entirely because it properly chose his successor and its leader.
    As the WPK is led by Kim Jong Il boundlessly faithful to the idea and cause of the President, it will always demonstrate its might as a dignified party of the President.

U.S. Nuclear Attack Exercise against DPRK Disclosed

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- It was disclosed by a confidential document of the U.S. air force that the U.S. staged a nuclear attack exercise against the DPRK in 1998, according to south Korean CBS and SBS. The document says that the fourth combat air division under the ninth U.S. air force mobilized 24 fighters including F-15, AWACS and air tanker for staging a long-distance nuclear bomb-dropping drill in Florida early in June 1998, according to the operation plan worked out under the simulated conditions of another Korean war. The document includes the words saying that the nuclear attack exercise is aimed at reducing north Korea to ashes by the order of the president.
    Choe Song, legislator from the Uri Party who obtained and disclosed the document, noted that this fact indicates how long an anti-communist group of the U.S. has been engaged in an in-depth examination of a preemptive nuclear attack on the north.

Indonesian Diplomats Help Korean Farmers in Harvesting

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Charge D'Affaires Ad Interim Bambang Irawan K. and staff members of the Indonesian embassy here helped farmers of the DPRK-Indonesia Friendship Yaksu Coop Farm in harvesting on Sept. 26. The guests helped the farmers in rice harvesting. During break, they sang songs and conversed with farmers, deepening the friendship. The guests conveyed aid materials to the farm that day.

Rash Anti-Reunification Moves in S. Korea under Fire

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- A tourist company and the headquarters of the ground force in south Korea are reportedly contemplating a joint development and trial sale of a tourist program for inviting foreigners to tour the "second tunnel" and "the delta of iron," etc. in the area where the sixth division of the south Korean army is stationed and experience a barrack life there. It is said that they would extend the tourist course depending on business profits. Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says: This is nothing but rowdyism that can be perpetrated only by schizophrenic patients.
    Their much touted "tunnel" is nothing but a fiction concocted by the successive dictators of south Korea to incite confrontation with the north and bring the situation under control by slandering it whenever they found themselves tight-cornered by the crisis of their fascist ruling system, etc.
    Through the projected foreign tour of "tunnel" the south Korean authorities and bellicose forces seek to tarnish the authority of the DPRK and build up international opinion favoring the continued division of Korea into the north and the south. It is a wrong way of thinking for the south Korean authorities to try to make use of the tragic partition of the Korean Peninsula for money making. Nothing is more heartbreaking than the tragedy in which the homogeneous Korean nation with a history spanning 5,000 years has been forced to undergo the pain resulting from the division for more than six decades due to outsiders. However, the south Korean authorities are becoming so shameless as to use the "tunnel," a product of the racket for confrontation with the north, along with the military demarcation line symbolic of national division, as international tourist destinations. This disgraceful behavior of the authorities has touched off towering indignation among the Koreans. Should the south Korean authorities have willingness to implement the June 15 joint declaration, they should unconditionally cancel their plan for "tour of tunnel," which would throw one more stumbling block in the way of improving the inter-Korean relations, and fill them up.

Power Station No. 2 of Wiwon Forestry Station Commissioned

     Wiwon, September 27 (KCNA) -- Power Station No. 2 of the Wiwon Forestry Station has been built and commissioned. The Wiwon Forestry Station in Jagang Province finished the waterway tunnel project, dam building and other big projects by its own efforts in a short time and thus built one more power station.
    The power station will satisfactorily provide electric power needed for timber production, the operation of welfare service facilities of the forestry station and electric heating of the dwelling houses there.
    Pak To Chun, chief secretary of the Jagang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, made a report at the commissioning ceremony held on the spot on Sept. 27.

Kim Jong Il's Selected Works Vol. 15 Published

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il's Selected Works Vol. 15, which comprehensively deals with his famous works, was brought out by the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House. It contains 41 works including his letters, talks and the answers given by him to the questions put by foreigners in the period between Jan. Juche 89 (2000) and Dec. Juche 93 (2004).
    The book intensively deals with strategic and tactical policies and profound ideas and theories set out by him in this period, while wisely leading overall affairs of the country. It clarifies tasks and ways of bringing about a revolutionary turn in the Party's activities as required by the new century, issues of fortifying the military position as firm as a rock and establishing the social trait of giving priority to military affairs throughout the society and tasks and ways of developing the economic work of the country.
    Specified in the book are concrete tasks and ways of developing the Juche-oriented culture and arts as required by the Songun era and achieving the independent reunification of Korea by the concerted efforts of the nation. The book explains in detail issues arising in the socio-political life including the issue of intensifying the education in the revolutionary traditions, improving the qualifications of officials and encouraging the people to fulfill their duties as citizens.
    The book will help firmly arm the officials and party members and other working people with the great Songun idea and powerfully encourage them in their efforts to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and reunify the country.

Symposium on Juche-Oriented Industrial Fine Art Held

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- A symposium on Juche-oriented industrial fine art was held at the Central Youth Hall on Sept. 27 on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. Pak Song Guk, deputy director of the State Bureau for Quality Control, was the first to make a speech titled "On idea and theory on Juche-oriented industrial fine art founded by the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il."
    The speaker said that Kim Jong Il put forward the idea on embodying the revolutionary outlook on the leader in the creation of industrial fine art for the first time in history and energetically led it to set a brilliant example in materializing the idea. Vice-President of the Mansudae Art Studio Kim Song Min, Vice- Minister of Machine-Building Industry Han Kwang Bok and other speakers said that the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, the sacred temple of Juche, towers of immortality, grand monuments on Mansu Hill, in Lake Samji and Mt. Wangjae, the Tower of the Juche Idea, the Arch of Triumph, the International Friendship Exhibition and others have been built in this land, startling the world people, under the noble intention and wise leadership of Kim Jong Il who put forward the idea on erecting monuments which will hand down the glorious revolutionary history and exploits of President Kim Il Sung down through generations and has devoted his tireless efforts. He advanced a policy on bringing about a great turn in the field of industrial fine art in the era of Songun and personally saw the type and color of remade machine tools and expressed great satisfactions with them during his on-the-spot guidance and showed warm benevolence, they stressed.
    They called upon all officials, creators and designers in the field of industrial fine art to firmly equip themselves with the Juche-oriented idea and theory on industrial fine art and apply them to their creation so as to bring about great innovations and really contribute to the building of a great prosperous powerful nation. Posters Celebrating 60th Birthday of WPK Produced

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Posters of Kimilsungia- Kimjongilia exhibition for celebrating the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea have been brought out to significantly decorate the grand festival of October. Beautifully drawn in the posters are Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia in full bloom as the flowers of the sun.
    The posters depicting the Party Founding Museum and the Monument to Party Founding strikingly show the history of the WPK that has covered the road of victory and glory under the banner of the Juche idea over the last six decades. The posters indicate that the Party vigorously advancing along the road of Songun holding leader Kim Jong Il in high esteem will shine forever as the glorious party of President Kim Il Sung in the future, too.
    Printed in the posters are the period and the venue of the exhibition.

Pamphlet Published in Italy to Mark 60th Birthday of WPK

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- A pamphlet titled "The glorious party of President Kim Il Sung" was published by the Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy on Sept. 21 on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. The WPK is a transparent revolutionary party unshakable and invariable in any adversity, the pamphlet says, and goes on:
    The WPK is now adhering to its character and tradition along with the august name of Kim Il Sung as it is led by Kim Jong Il who is creditably carrying forward the cause of the President.
    After the unexpected demise of the President, General Secretary Kim Jong Il solemnly declared all the world: "Do not expect any change from me." Kim Jong Il published many works including the famous work "The Workers' Party of Korea Is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" issued on the occasion of the 50th birthday of the WPK.
    As it is led by Kim Jong Il, the WPK will demonstrate its might forever as the party of Kim Il Sung.

Rodong Sinmun on Idea of "By Our Nation Itself"

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Anti-north rackets reminding of the era of confrontation between the north and the south in "cooperation" with the foreign forces are being kicked up in south Korea, laying obstacles in the way of developing the inter-Korean relations and keeping an atmosphere of national reunification. In this regard Rodong Sinmun carries a signed article today. Military "cooperation" with the foreign forces is harmful to the Korean nation and unpardonable in the June 15 era of reunification, the article says, and goes on: The idea of "By our nation itself" laid down in the historic June 15 joint declaration is the idea of national independence from A to Z. The idea calls for thoroughly rejecting "cooperation" with the aggressive foreign forces in war and paving the way for peace and reunification through national cooperation.
    However, the south Korean authorities are talking about "implementation" of the joint declaration and "national cooperation" in one hand and showing such a double-dealing attitude as dancing to the tune of war of the foreign forces in the other. This is a perfidy to the idea of "By our nation itself".
    The idea is the basic guidelines to defend peace of the country and develop the inter-Korean relations on the principle of national independence. Only when the north and the south remain loyal to the idea is it possible to defend peace, promote reconciliation and cooperation and step up the cause of reunification against the war moves of the foreign forces.
    "Cooperation" with the foreign forces and war rackets in league with them, going astray from the idea, are a dangerous adventure which may drive the inter-Korean relations to a crisis again.
    Steadfast is the will of the Korean nation to achieve national unity and the peace and independent reunification of the country by its concerted efforts under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration. No force can arrest the dynamic advance of the Korean nation toward the reunification of the country in the idea of "By our nation itself".

Foreign Diplomatic Envoys Visit Mt. Chilbo

     Myongchon, September 27 (KCNA) -- Diplomatic envoys of various countries in the DPRK visited the pleasure park of Mt. Chilbo on the east coast of North Hamgyong Province from Sept. 25 to 27 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. Being briefed on the wonderful conversion of the mountain into a famous mountain of the Songun era and the pleasure park of the people under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, the visitors inspected scenic spots such as the Peak of Ten Thousand Forms, Sungson Pavilion, Kangson Gate, Tokgol Waterfalls and Ryemun Rock.
    Iranian Ambassador to the DPRK Jalaleddin Namini Mianji said that he was completely fascinated by the landscape of the mountain and that he came to feel once again in the nature the wisdom of leader Kim Jong Il who saw to it that the mountain turned into the most famous one and the pleasure park of the people. Cuban Ambassador to the DPRK Ruben Perez Valdes said that he was glad to visit Mt. Chilbo conspicuous for its fresh air, steep cliffs and numerous valleys. Malaysian Ambassador to the DPRK MD. Yusoff Bin MD. Zain said that through his visit he came to know well about the wisdom of the leadership of Kim Jong Il who gave on-the-spot guidance to the mountain several times to turn it into a wonderful pleasure park of the people.

Pyongyang International Invitational Bowling Tournament Opens

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang International Invitational Bowling Tournament opened at the Pyongyang Gold Lane with a due ceremony on Sept. 28. The tournament which drew teams of China and Hong Kong of China and A and B teams of the DPRK will be held from Sept. 28 to 30. It will involve singles, doubles and trebles and star games.
    Jong In Chol, vice-chairman of the Korean Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, made a speech there.
    He said that the tournament would contribute to boosting the exchange and the friendly and cooperative relations in sports and promoting the development and dissemination of bowling technique.
    The ceremony was followed by singles.

Credentials to Kim Yong Nam from Tunisian Ambassador

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, received credentials from Mohamed Sahbi Basly, ambassador of Tunisia to the DPRK e. p., at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Wednesday. On hand were Kim Hyong Jun, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned.
    After receiving credentials the president had a conversation with the ambassador.

Paek Nam Sun Meets Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Delegation

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Foreign Minister of the DPRK Paek Nam Sun Wednesday met and had a conversation with a delegation of the Foreign Ministry of Vietnam led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Phu Binh. On hand were officials concerned and the Vietnamese ambassador to the DPRK.

Greetings to Ukrainian Prime Minister

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, sent a message of greetings to Yuri Yekhanurov upon his appointment as prime minister of Ukraine. Expressing the belief that the long standing relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries will grow stronger in mutual interests, the message wished the prime minister great success in his responsible work for the stability and economic development of the country and the welfare of the people.

Monggumpho and Kumipho, Pride of Korea

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Monggumpho and Kumipho are located on the northwest and south coasts of Ryongyon County, South Hwanghae Province, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. They are the pride of Korea for their scenery beyond description. Monggumpho is also called "Kumsasipri" as the white sands glisten with golden tinge in reflection of the sunray.
    Picturesque are the white sands, the sweetbrier flowers along the sea beach, the pine groves over the beach, cliffs in shore like a folding screen and islets, big and small. The name of Kumipho is derived from its nine sceneries including thickly wooded pine trees on cliffs and rocks, an expanse of white sand beach and surf. These scenic spots have been famous as sea bathing resorts for the proper temperature of water in summer.
    Working people are enjoying their holidays there.
    Monggumpho and Kumipho are also of economical significance. The sea off the areas teems with various kinds of fish in all seasons. They are fishing centers in the West Sea of Korea.
    The Kumipho beach abounds in sand which has been famous as best raw materials of glass production.
    The sand is to be supplied as raw materials to the Taean Friendship Glass Factory, a symbol of the DPRK-China friendship, which is under construction.

Gift to Kim Jong Il from Vietnamese Delegation

     Pyongyang, September 28 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was presented with a gift by the visiting delegation of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry. Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phu Binh, who is leading the delegation of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry, Wednesday handed the gift to DPRK Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun.

Monggumpho y Kumipho - ensenadas famosas de Corea

    @Pyongyang, 28 de septiembre (ATCC) -- Las ensenadas famosas de Corea Monggumpho y Kumipho estan situadas en la costera de noroeste y de parte sur del distrito de Ryongyon de la provincia de Hwanghae del Sur. El arenal limpio, las flores rojas de Rosa Rugosa que decoran Monggumpho, el pinar que se extiende detras, rocas parecidas a un biombo, la cristalina agua del mar azul y las islitas de distintas formas se armonizan tan maravillosamente como en un cuadro. Kumipho es tambien famosa por sus acantilados, rocas portentosas y pinos arraigados en ellas, el vaiven de la limpia agua en el arenal y sus blancas espumas que se producen al romperse contra las rocas.
    Las dos se conocen como famosas playas para el bano por el agua limpia, adecuada temperatura del agua en verano y el pinar sobre el arenal.
    Monggumpho y Kumipho son lugares importantes en la vision economica. El mar que rodea estas ensenadas sirve de una importante base pesquera del Mar Oeste de Corea.
    A las orillas de Kumipho estan cubiertas bastantes arenas especificas conocidas a escala mundial por su buena calidad para la produccion de vidrio. La arena de Kumipho sirve de principal materia prima de la fabrica de vidrio de amistad de Taean, que esta en construccion como simbolo de amistad Corea-China.

Rodong Sinmun denuncia el "turismo a galeria" de autoridades surcoreanas

     Pyongyang, 28 de septiembre (ATCC) -- Segun informaciones, la "compania de turismo" y el "cuartel general de las fuerzas terrestres" del Sur de Corea tratan de desarrollar en comun un "programa de turismo", que permite a los extranjeros recorrer la "galeria No. 2", la "delta de hierro" y otros en la zona acantonada de la division No. 6 del ejercito surcoreano y "experimentar la vida de cuartel", y venderlo a prueba. Tambien, planean ampliar el "itinerario del turismo" de acuerdo con la balanza comercial. Esto es un delirio de los psicopatas. Asi senala el periodico Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 28 y continua:
    La "galeria" en cuestion es una invencion que fraguaron los dictadores sucesivos del Sur de Corea para remediar la situacion acusando a la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea cuando se enfrentaba a la crisis su sistema de dominacion fascista. Lo inventan las autoridades y las fuerzas belicosas surcoreanas para desacreditar la autoridad de la RPDC y crear la opinion internacional a favor de la fijacion de la division nacional.
    @Es erroneo el modo de pensar de ellas quienes tratan de "utilizar como recursos" la division de la Peninsula Coreana para ganar dinero.
    La nacion coreana homogenea de 5 mil anos lleva 60 anos de division en Norte y Sur por la intervencion de las fuerzas foraneas, lo cual es una gran tragedia. Sin embargo, las autoridades surcoreanas tratan de comercializar en el ambito internacional la "galeria", producto del alboroto de enfrentamiento con el Norte, junto con la zona de la Linea de Demarcacion Militar, simbolo de la division nacional. Esto provoca una vehemente indignacion nacional.
    Si ellas tienen la voluntad de ejecutar la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio, deben abandonar incondicionalmente el "turismo a la galeria" que creara un gran obstaculo en el desarrollo de las relaciones entre el Norte y el Sur y llenarla con tierra.
