     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il sent a congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on Friday. The message reads as follows: I sincerely congratulate you on your 53rd birthday.
    Believing that the DPRK-Russia relations of friendship and cooperation with a long history and tradition would continue to expand and develop in various fields in the future, too, I wish you good health and happiness as well as greater success in your responsible work for social stability and prosperity and people's welfare.

Investigation into Remains of Korean Draftees Urged

     Tokyo, October 5 (KNS-KCNA) -- Hong Sang Jin, secretary general of the Central Headquarters of the Koreans' Side to the Group for Investigation into Truth behind Korean Victims of Forcible Drafting, and Akihiro Harada, director of the Central Headquarters of the Japanese' Side to the group, and representatives of the Japanese' sides in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Tochigi and Fukushima to the group strongly urged the Japanese government to actively come out in the investigation into the remains of Korean victims of forcible drafting. They jointly called a press conference in Tokyo on Oct. 3 at which they referred to the fact that on Sept. 28 the Japanese government made public the results of the investigation which claim that the remains of only 868 Korean draftees have been confirmed.
    Even non-governmental probe put the estimated number of the Korean victims of the forcible drafting at 50,000 at minimum, they noted, adding that the government's investigation is too insufficient.
    They accused the Japanese government of refusing under unreasonable reason to meet the request made to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare by the group last August to start the "investigation into Korean employees." By this work style it is hard to expect any progress in the investigation, they said, urging the authorities to boldly open the necessary information to the public.
    Then followed a report on investigation conducted in different parts of the Kanto area.

WPK Birthday Celebrated in Different Countries

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in Bridgetown, Barbados, and Ulan Bator, Mongolia, round-table talks and film show at the building of the Misr Arab Socialist Party, photo exhibition and film show in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from Sept. 26 to 29 on the occasion of the 60th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. On display at the photo exhibition were photos introducing revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu.
    Participants of the film shows watched Korean film "Military and Civilian Parade Celebrating the 55th Founding Anniversary of the Glorious WPK." The chairman of the Barbadian preparatory committee to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the WPK in his speech at the meeting said that the WPK has grown strong to be a revolutionary party in the era of Juche and it has achieved great successes in the revolution and construction despite all hardships under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il over the last 40 odd years.
    Noting that the Korean people are now making energetic efforts to achieve national reunification under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, he said the U.S. should not chill the ardent enthusiasm of the Korean people for reunification but do anything helpful to Korea's reunification. The Barbadian people fully support Korea's reunification by federal formula and will send firm solidarity to their just struggle, he added.
    The chief of Kim Jong Suk Kindergarten in Ulan Bator said at the meeting that the children of the kindergarten and their parents know well about the three generals of Mt. Paektu who devoted themselves to the country and the people and widely introduce them to the Mongolian people.
    The chairman of the Misr Arab Socialist Party at the round-table talks stressed that the Korean people have stood firm against the arbitrary practices of the U.S. as they have Kim Jong Il at the top post of the WPK.

Floral Basket to Kim Jong Il from Palestine

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was presented with a floral basket by Mahmoud Abbas, chief of the Palestinian National Authority, on the occasion of the 60th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.      Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The Maltese preparatory committee was formed in Valletta on Oct. 1 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. The international secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Malta was elected chairman of the preparatory committee.
    The preparatory committee decided to hold celebration events such as lecture, photo exhibition and film show and the introduction of the WPK on TV on the occasion.

Pyongyang Electric Appliances Joint Venture Company Commissioned

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The Pyongyang electric Appliances Joint Venture Company was commissioned Thursday. The company is a joint venture of the DPRK Card Watt-hour Meter Assembling Factory and the Chinese Beijing Fu Xing Xiao Cheng Electronic Technology Stock Co., Ltd.
    It will produce card watt-hour meters needed for scientifically controlling the consumption of electricity.
    The production of this type of meters will contribute to the development of national economy as they will help factories, enterprises and families make a rational use of electricity.
    That day, Ju Tong Il, minister of Electricity and Coal Industries, and other officials and members of the Chinese company delegation headed by its General Manager Cheng Yi went round the production processes and products of the company, exchanging conversation about the need to methodically manage the company and intensify the work to increase the production in conformity with the daily expanding DPRK-China friendly relations.

Military Attache of Egyptian Embassy Hosts Reception

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Military Attache Mahmoud Mohamed Osman Atik of the Egyptian embassy here Thursday evening hosted a reception at the Taedonggang Club for the Diplomatic Corps on the occasion of the Egyptian army day. Letter to Kim Jong Il from European Internet Seminar

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, received a letter from the participants in the European Regional Internet Seminar on Songun Politics held from Sept. 23 to 25. Rodong Sinmun Calls for Frustrating Imperialist Psychological Warfare

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The peoples of all countries aspiring after independence should heighten vigilance against the imperialists' psychological warfare and shatter their moves with a revolutionary ideological and cultural offensive, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. The tragedies that resulted from the psychological warfare of the imperialists in recent years go to prove that countering their psychological warfare with a powerful revolutionary offensive is an important way of shattering their moves for aggression and domination and defending the sovereignty of the country and the nation, the article notes, and goes on:
    Their psychological warfare is like a hidden dangerous sword for isolating and stifling the anti-U.S., anti-imperialist countries or bringing about the regime change there and bringing down their systems and used as a basic means of justifying their war of aggression under some pretexts and fighting it with ease.

Foreign Diplomats Visit Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Officials in charge of cultural and friendly relations of various embassies here visited the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition on Thursday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea. At the end of the visit, they made entries in the visitor's book. Ioan Dedean, councilor of the Romanian embassy here, wrote that he deeply felt the profound reverence of the Korean people for President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il each time he visited the exhibition.
    Mikhail Vetrov, councilor of the Russian embassy here, and Maxim Ussov, secretary of the embassy, wrote that the flowers reflecting the reverence of the Korean people add to the significance of the 60th birthday of the WPK, a great holiday. Increasing Number of S. Korean Children Sold Abroad

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Sale of children to foreign countries is rampant in south Korea, according to the south Korean MBC Monday. The number of the children adopted by other parents reached at least 13,800 and more than 8,200 of them were sold abroad from 2002 to the first half of this year. This was disclosed by a paper presented by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to the "National Assembly."

Greetings to Captains-Regent of San Marino

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, on Oct. 5 sent a congratulatory message to Claudio Mucioli and Antonelli Baciocchi on their election as captains-regent of San Marino. Printed Matters and CDs Introducing "Arirang" on Sale

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Various picture albums, folding pictures, VCDs, DVDs and video tapes introducing the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", an extravaganza in the world, are on sale in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The stalls set up in the May Day Stadium are always crowded with audience to buy them.
    Picture album "Arirang" published by the Foreign Languages Publishing House (Korean, English and Chinese edition) introduces in detail the performance which consists of 6 acts and 13 scenes. They show what a chequered history the "Arirang nation" of Korea in the East had to undergo and how it has made its appearance in the present international arena as the master of its destiny and a dignified nation. The album also introduces Hero of the DPRK and People's Artist Kim Su Jo, general director of the Phibada Opera Troupe, who is the chief conductor of the performance, leading creators who have distinguished themselves in the creation of the performance as well as performers.
    The folding picture gives attractive scenes including the the Scene 3 of the Act 1 "Our Arms".
    VCDs, DVDs and video tapes produced by various companies including the Hana Electronic Company wonderfully show the "Arirang" in detail with the effect of near and distant views.

DPRK in Festive Atmosphere for October Festival

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is in a festive mood to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea, the invincible revolutionary party (October 10). Colorful political and cultural functions including a national seminar, departmental seminars, celebration meeting of agricultural working people and the combined performance of the 16th national art festival of women's union members have been held in the capital, provinces and towns to mark the anniversary.
    The events are replete with profound trust in the WPK, the organizer and guide of all the victories of the Korean people.
    A Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia show, a national book show, a national photo exhibition, a ten-day film show, "national sports festival marking October 10" and a pencil picture festival, calligraphy contest and art show of the Korean People's Army opened on the auspicious occasion.
    Working people are greeting the grand October festival with labor feats. The construction of the Taean Friendship Glass Factory and Paekma-Cholsan Waterway has been completed and the Pujon Potato Starch Factory and the Huichon Hard Glassware Factory started their operation.

Songun Korea Advances under Leadership of Great Party

     Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- All the Korean people are greeting the 60th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea with the great honor of having created miracles and feats by dynamically pushing forward the general advance of the Songun revolution this year. At least 130 objects including monumental edifices have been built or reconstructed and modernized in different parts of the country, more than 1,600 factories and enterprises carried out their yearly plans ahead of schedule and over 8,500 inventions and devices have been introduced into production, so that the spirit and might of Songun Korea have been fully demonstrated in all sectors of socialist construction. Monumental edifices and modern factories, enterprises, workshops and cultural facilities in the Songun era have been constructed or rebuilt on a modern basis in different parts of the country to more firmly consolidate the nation's economic potentials. The Paekma-Cholsan Waterway, a gravity-fed irrigation system, has been successfully completed and commissioned as a monumental edifice in the Songun era. Dozens of power stations including the large-scale Dam of the Nyongwon Power Station, the Kumjingang Hungbong Youth Power Station, the Sungho Railway Youth Power Station, the Rason Youth Power Station No. 2, five Susongchon second-stage power stations and the Singye Army-People Power Station have been commissioned. The Taean Friendship Glass Factory, one of symbol of the DPRK-China friendship, has been built on the highest level, the 100-ton electric furnace commissioned at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, the caustic soda production process with a capacity of tens of thousands of tons furnished at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and many other major objects to further strengthen the nation's economic potentials built to be commissioned.
    The rehabilitation project of the dike of the Taegyedo Tideland which suffered damage caused by tidal waves has been completed in a short span of time to retake at least 8,800 hectares of tideland and obtain thousands of hectares of fertile land. The exterior of at least 100 public buildings and nearly 18,000 flats of upwards of 220 apartment houses has been wonderfully rebuilt and repaired in Sungri, Kaesonmun, Chollima and six other streets in the capital city of Pyongyang. Modern dwelling houses of over 50,000 flats have been built in cities and the countryside.

    Judoist Kye Sun Hui, praiseworthy daughter of Songun Korea, placed the first in the women's 57kg category match at the 2005 World Judo Championships, thus retaining the thrice world judo champion and demonstrating the heroic stamina of Juche Korea. Boxers Kim Kwang Ok, Ryu Myong Ok and Choe Un Sun beat their rivals with iron fists they have trained at ordinary times, thus holding the world women's pro-boxing champions.
    Sportspersons fluttered scarlet DPRK flags one after another at international games. Taekwon-do players garnered dozens of medals including 17 gold medals and four cups at the 14th World Taekwon-do Championships, thus came first in the total standings and recorded 10 consecutive victories. La carta senala que la idea del Songun (priorizacion militar) de Corea concebida por el Presidente Kim Il Sung la lleva adelante con su entusiasta orientacion Su Excelencia Kim Jong Il, gran General.
    El presente foro sirvio de un motivo de gran importancia para enterarse bien de la grandeza de la idea que contiene la politica de Songun de Corea y de la justeza de su modo practico, conocer bien de los grandes rasgos de Su Excelencia Kim Jong Il y cerciorarse de que la politica de Songun de Corea saldra sin falta victoriosa por la destacada direccion de Su Excelencia, subraya la misiva y prosigue: Los pueblos progresistas estan convencidos de que en este mundo predominante de caos por destrucciones y matanzas debido a las guerras forzadas por los imperialistas, posibilita asegurarles la paz, la estabilidad y la felicidad solo la politica de Songun de Corea que permite defender la seguridad del pais y construir el socialismo del pueblo mediante el fortalecimiento de las fuerzas de autodefensa nacional. Rodong Sinmun aboga por frustrar guerra psicologica de imperialistas

    @Pyongyang, 7 de octubre (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun publico en su edicion del dia 7 un articulo individual que va como sigue: Los pueblos de todos los paises aspirantes a la independencia deben redoblar su vigilancia ante la guerra psicologica de los imperialistas y frustrarla con una ofensiva ideo-cultural revolucionaria.
    Las situaciones tragicas dadas en los ultimos anos por esa guerra comprueban que hacerle frente con una poderosa ofensiva revolucionaria deviene un importante remedio para frustrar las maniobras de agresion y dominacion de los imperialistas y defender la soberania del pais y la nacion.
    Por ende, ella resulta una peligrosa e invisible navaja para aislar y aplastar a los paises antiimperialistas y antiyanquis, lograr la sustitucion del poder y el derrocamiento de sus sistemas. Ademas, constituye el medio principal para justificar una invasion y hacer una guerra facil.
