60th Birthday of WPK Observed in Different Countries

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held at the head offices of the Communist Party Marxist-Leninist (R) in Sweden, the Communist Party of Malta and the Bulgarian Communist Party in the period from Oct. 7 to 14 to mark the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. On display in the venues of the meetings were famous works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and photos showing their undying exploits and books introducing the DPRK.
    Eric Andersson, international secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Marxist-Leninist (R) in Sweden, said that the WPK founded by Kim Il Sung has guided the revolution and construction along a straight way of victory.
    John Zammit, secretary general of the Malta-Korea Friendship Association, said that the DPRK faced the worst adversity due to the frantic political and military pressure of the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces and their economic sanctions and severe natural calamities. But it held aloft the banner of building a great prosperous powerful nation, overcoming all sorts of trials and difficulties, and demonstrated its national power to the world by launching a satellite and declaring its possession of nukes, he noted, adding: This is the fruition of the wise leadership of the WPK.
    Speakers including Lyudmil Kostantinov, chief of the Bulgarian Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, underscored the fact that the WPK has advanced along a straight path of victory without committing even a single mistake or undergoing any twist and turn in the way of implementing its line for the last 60 years because it has solved all problems independently and creatively, invariably guided by the Juche idea.
    At the end of meetings the participants watched Korean films "'Ever-Victorious Workers' Party of Korea', Grand Gymnastic and Artistic Performance for Celebrating the 55th Anniversary of the WPK" and "The Concrete Wall, Symbol of National Division."
    Meanwhile, photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and India in the period from Oct. 2 to 11.

Kim Il Sung's Exploits Highly Praised

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung rendered unstinted support and aid, both material and moral, to the African people in their struggle for liberation and independence and the building of a new society. This was one more expression of great political support to the cause of the African people. Alpha Oumar Konare, chairman of the Committee of the African Union, said this when receiving credentials from the DPRK permanent representative at the AU on Oct. 20.
    Recalling that he had the honor of being received by Kim Il Sung when he was visiting the DPRK as Malian president in December, 1992, he noted that this was of great significance in his political career and he would always remember that day. Hoping that leader Kim Jong Il would lead the Korean people to steady victory and prosperity by successfully carrying forward the cause of Kim Il Sung, he expressed the belief that the DPRK government and people would continue to boost the historic, traditional and excellent relations of friendship and cooperation with the African people.

Reception Given on "Day of UN"

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Timo Pakkala, UN resident coordinator and resident representative of the UNDP, and representatives of the international organizations here hosted a reception on Monday evening on the occasion of the "Day of the UN". Present there on invitation were Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Choe Su Hon and officials concerned and diplomatic envoys of different countries here. Speeches were made at the reception.

Probe into Missing Nuclear Substance Urged in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification reportedly issued a statement on Oct. 21 to urge a probe into the truth behind missing nuclear weapon substance. Referring to the disclosed fact that the U.S. exported hundreds of tons of nuclear substance to south Korea, the statement said that the fact proves the U.S. shameless action of committing the illegal export of basic raw materials of nuclear weapons, finding fault with the nuclear issue of someone. The U.S. considers it natural to possess nuclear weapons or nuclear substance, while being dead set against the nuclear issue of other countries, the statement noted, stressing that the U.S. is producing nuclear weapons for itself and forcing the north to remove nuclear weapons. This shameless demand should be rectified, the statement said, adding:
    The U.S. should probe the truth behind nuclear weapon substance in a sincere and honest manner.

Prosecution Authorities Condemned for Anachronistic Act in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The Democratic Workers' Party of south Korea reportedly held a press conference in front of the building of the Supreme Public Prosecutor's Office on Oct. 20 to denounce the prosecution authorities for their anachronistic act of taking issue with the academic activity and conscientious assertion of Prof. Kang Jong Gu in league with conservative forces including the Grand National Party and talking about "defence of the system" and "save-the-nation movement" in a bid to keep the moribund "National Security Law." Speakers at the press conference stressed that "the prosecution authorities should honestly confess to the people and repent of their crime of taking the lead in suppressing numerous democratic figures while flattering on the power and being reduced to a maid of the government.
    A press release held that the Public Prosecutor's Office, a conservative group, should come to its sense, dismantle its public security department and liquidate scandal prosecution, public security prosecution and political prosecution.

Rodong Sinmun on Scenario for War of Aggression

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The south Korean military authorities are seeking to punish a lawmaker of an opposition party on charges of disclosing such military secret as the "OPLAN 5027-04", a scenario of a preemptive nuclear attack on the north. Commenting on their action, Rodong Sinmun today denounces it as sympathy and instigation of the war frenzy of the bellicose forces at home and abroad. The commentary goes on:
    With the dangerous war scenario opened to the public the criminal plot of the U.S. and the south Korean bellicose elements for a war of aggression against the north has been brought to light again.
    The U.S. is now massively introducing latest war equipment into south Korea and stepping up the strategic relocation of its armed forces there under the pretext of bolstering their combat power and relocation. This indicates that its scenarios to invade and seize the north are being put into practice. The scheme of the south Korean authorities to harm the fellow countrymen by joining the foreign forces in their war moves is contrary to the desire of the nation and the trend of the times and an anti-national, anti-peace and anachronistic action for a war in the Korean Peninsula.

Japanese Reactionaries' Anti-DPRK, Anti-Chongryon Campaign under Fire

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The Tokyo High Court held the second trial of the former financial director of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on Oct. 6 at which it sentenced him to six years in prison. He was arrested and prosecuted by the Japan investigation authorities on an absurd charge. In its wake the public security department of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Agency searched for no reason several institutions related to Chongryon including the office of the Association of Korean Scientists and Technologists in Japan in the Korean Press Hall and the Kim Man Yu Scientific Promotion Society in Nishiarai Hospital in Tokyo. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed commentary carried in this regard observes: This rowdyism of crackdown on Chongryon is a revelation of the Japanese reactionaries' extremely hostile policy towards the DPRK and a blatant infringement upon its sovereignty.
    The Japanese reactionaries' evermore intensified anti-Chongryon and anti-DPRK campaign is aimed at slandering and hurting Chongryon, impairing the dignity and prestige of the DPRK and inciting bitterness towards Chongryon and the DPRK among the Japanese in a bid to create social atmosphere favorable for the revival of militarism.
    The Japanese reactionaries should bear in mind that no matter how desperate they may become in their rackets against Chongryon and the DPRK they can never damage the dignity of Chongryon and the DPRK. The Japanese authorities should clearly understand that their campaign against Chongryon and the DPRK will adversely affect the DPRK-Japan relations.
    The Japanese reactionaries should immediately stop the suppression of Chongryon and apologize for their crimes against the DPRK and Chongryon.

Anniversary of Famous Work of Kim Jong Il Observed

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dedicates a signed article to the 15th anniversary of the publication of the famous work of leader Kim Jong Il "On Having a Correct Viewpoint and Understanding of the Juche Philosophy." The work published on Oct. 25, Juche 79 (1990) clarifies the idea that the Juche philosophy is a man-centered unique idea evolved and systematized with peculiar principles different from the preceding philosophies, the essential character of man, the issue of understanding a social being and the issue of co-relation among the three forms of transformation.
    The work serves as important guidelines for fully ensuring the purity of the Juche philosophy, the revolutionary and political philosophy of the Workers' Party of Korea, and as an inspiring banner that instilled into the Korean people the conviction of the advantages and greatness of the Juche idea, the article says, and goes on:
    The ideas and theories set out in the work serve as an immortal militant banner as it imbues the Korean people and other progressives of the world with the steadfast Juche-oriented revolutionary outlook on the world and inspires them to wage a dynamic struggle for the victory of the cause of socialism. Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from South Korea Urged

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- In order to establish national sovereignty throughout Korea and achieve the cause of national reunification and prosperity, all Koreans should struggle to have the foreign military bases dismantled and occupation forces withdrawn from south Korea. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday notes this in a signed article. It goes on: The reality proves that it is impossible to achieve national reunification, the true sovereignty of the country and national prosperity unless an end is put to the U. S. imperialists' policy of occupation of south Korea and their moves to provoke a new war.
    The U.S. imperialists chiefly responsible for the partition of the Korean Peninsula into two have built high political and physical barriers in a bid to block the Korean nation's development, prosperity, peace and independent reunification. It is due to the U.S. imperialists that the Korean nation with a history spanning 5,000 years still remains divided into the north and the south and has not yet achieved uniform development and prosperity in all fields of economy and social life.
    A tense situation always prevails in Korea.
    It is impossible to realize the people's desire for uniform development and prosperity wherever peace is disturbed and a tense situation persists. The June 15 era is the era of independent reunification in which the Koreans are paving the way for independent reunification through national reconciliation and unity. Anniversary of CPV's Entry into Korean Front Observed

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang-based papers today editorially observe the 55th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front. Rodong Sinmun says the servicepersons of the People's Army and people of the DPRK send militant salute to the fraternal servicepersons of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and people of China and pay high tribute to the CPV martyrs.
    Their entry into the Korean front provided an opportunity to deepen the blood-sealed ties of militant fraternity and friendship between the two peoples, it notes, and goes on:
    The history of the DPRK-China friendship has steadily advanced along the track of its development.
    This traditional friendship has reached a higher stage under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries. In recent years leader Kim Jong Il visited China three times, bringing this friendship into fuller bloom. The DPRK visit by President Hu Jintao expected soon will mark an important occasion in boosting the bilateral friendship. In this century this friendship is growing stronger with a bright prospect in conformity with the desires and interests of the two peoples.

Minju Joson on Japan's Bid for Permanent Seat of UN Security Council

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Japan is resorting to all sorts of disgraceful conducts in an effort to take a permanent seat of the UN Security Council. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Tuesday says:
    A few days ago, a delegate of Japan, speaking at a UN General Assembly session, clamored that the qualification for a permanent seat of the UN Security Council should be appraised by the contribution of a relevant member nation to the international community.
    Japan's foolish assertion can never be overlooked as it is an intolerable mockery and insult to the UN and the international community. Japan should know that it is a wild dream for it to make a bid for a permanent seat of the UN Security Council with such a wrong stand. All the countries that want to have such a seat cannot have it.
    If Japan truly wants to make a responsible contribution to the UN, it should sincerely repent of its past crimes and clear off them, before ridiculously shaking a moneybag.
    It should refrain from foolish act of inviting international isolation and shame and do what it should do.

Pujon Potato Starch Factory Built

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The Pujon Potato Starch Factory situated in the township of Pujon County, South Hamgyong Province, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, was commissioned on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. It, with a total floor space of over 3,000 square meters, covers more than 20,000 square meters. It has a capacity to produce thousands of tons of potato starch a year. All the production processes ranging from weighing, measuring dirt and starch content of potatoes, pulverizing, processing and heating to packing are operated on an assembly-line.
    The starch produced by the factory is snow-white and of good quality and its by-products are available for feed of domestic animals and fertilizer. The factory will contribute to industrializing the potato processing and improving the dietary life of the people in the northern highland of Korea.

President of IFRCRCS and His Party Wind up Korea Visit

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Juan Manuel Suarez del Toro, president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and his party left here today after winding up its four-day visit to the DPRK. They were seen off at the airport by Paek Yong Ho, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the DPRK Red Cross Society, and the head of the aid delegation of the IFRCRCS.
    During their stay they visited Mangyongdae and objects of aid in Anju City, South Phyongan Province.

Wreaths Laid before Friendship Tower

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the Friendship Tower Tuesday on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front. Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, and other officials concerned and working people in the city.
    Amidst the playing of the wreath-laying music a wreath was placed before the tower in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.
    Wreaths were laid before the tower in the name of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of People's Security, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Ministry of Culture, a wreath in the joint name of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Central Committee of the Korea-China Friendship Association and a wreath in the joint name of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK and the Pyongyang City People's Committee.
    Working people in the city placed bouquets before the Friendship Tower.
    Participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers.
    Also laid before the martyrs cemetery of the CPV in Hyongjesan District, Pyongyang, were a wreath in the joint name of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK and the Pyongyang City People's Committee and a wreath in the joint name of the Hyongjesan District Committee of the WPK and the Hyongjesan District People's Committee.

Chinese Embassy Lays Wreath before Friendship Tower

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- The Chinese embassy here laid a wreath before the Friendship Tower Tuesday on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front. Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, the participants placed a wreath before the tower in the name of the embassy and observed a moment's silence in memory of CPV martyrs.
    The embassy also laid a wreath before the martyrs cemetery of the CPV in Hyongjesan District, Pyongyang.

     Pyongyang, October 25 (KCNA) -- A delegation of the south Korean "Yun I Sang Peace Fund" headed by Director Sin Kye Ryun who is a lawmaker of the Uri Party and a German quintet arrived here today to participate in a concert to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of Yun I Sang. En la quinta ronda cuestionaremos y ajustaremos la cuenta de la responsabilidad de EE.UU. de haber dado una situacion mas critica que la de antes de aprobada esa declaracion.

Agresivo y provocativo guion de guerra, califica Rodong Sinmun

    　Pyongyang, 25 de octubre (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun inserto en su edicion del dia 25 un comentario individual que senala: 　Las autoridades militares del Sur de Corea tratan de acusar de "delito de fuga de secreto militar" a un parlamentario de oposicion quien dio a conocer el "plan operacional 5027-04", guion de ataque preventivo nuclear a la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea. 　De esta manera volvio a revelarse la intencion criminal de los belicistas de EE.UU. y el Sur de Corea de derrocarla a traves del ataque preventivo. 　EE.UU. pretextando el "aumento y la reubicacion de las fuerzas armadas" traslada al Sur de Corea gran cantidad de equipos belicos sofisticados y acelera el reemplazamiento estrategico de sus unidades ocupantes del Sur de Corea. Esto significa que se llevan a la practica los guiones de guerra de agresion al Norte de Corea.
