Rodong Sinmun on WPK's Perfect Unity with People

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- The history of the Workers' Party of Korea is a glorious history during which it formed an integral whole with the popular masses and has always emerged victorious. Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a signed article. It goes on:
    As strikingly demonstrated through the celebrations of its 60th birthday, all the Korean people are single-mindedly united around the WPK and leader Kim Jong Il, absolutely supporting and trusting the party headed by him. The history of the WPK is a glorious history in which the party has firmly protected and successfully met the people's needs and interests with its popular line and policies and a proud history in which it has carried out the revolution and construction depending on their strength. It is, at the same time, a sacred history in which it has looked after the destiny of all the people in a responsible manner.
    It is entirely thanks to the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il that the party could form an integral whole with the popular masses and always emerge victorious with their might.
    Kim Il Sung was the great leader who gave origin to the perfect unity between the WPK and the Korean people.
    "Believe in the people and rely on them at all times and you shall always emerge victorious; if you are forsaken by them, you will always fail". This was Kim Il Sung's maxim. He thus set out the idea of believing in the people as in Heaven. This was a main starting point and the supreme principle to govern the party building and activities.
    The history of the perfect unity between the party and people has been successfully inherited by Kim Jong Il.
    It is thanks to Kim Jong Il that there is the invincible WPK which has perfect unity with the popular masses. Devotedly defending him, therefore, provides a sure guarantee for protecting the single-minded unity between the party and people and achieving the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche. This is a historic review of the WPK's building and activities and the firm faith of the party members and other people in the DPRK.

U.S. Hostile Policy towards DPRK Blasted in Brazil

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- The Brazilian Centre for Peace and Solidarity posted on its Internet homepage an article titled "The DPRK has long been a target of imperialist attacks" blasting the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK. The article recalled that the U.S. which declared the national security strategy based on the doctrine of preemptive attack attempted to launch the second Korean war in a bid to bar the DPRK from having access to nuclear weapons.
    The U.S., however, could not realize its scenario for "attack" on the DPRK, the article said, adding that former U.S. President Carter visited Pyongyang and then followed the announcement of the DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework but the Bush administration scrapped it.
    It continued: In recent years the U.S. threat to the DPRK has persisted. Bush listed the DPRK as part of "an axis of evil" and has since worked out scenarios for a war of aggression against it including "OPLAN 5030" and a plan for using tactical nuclear weapons for striking its nuclear facilities. The Korean people are exposed to the threat of the most aggressive imperialist power. They have the right to decide their own future free from foreign interference and achieve the peaceful reunification of Korea divided by the U.S. imperialists.
    The Brazilian people and all other progressive people of the world extend support and solidarity to the Korean people in their just struggle. Also seen on the homepage was a map marked with U.S. military bases in south Korea.

Foreign Diplomats Visit Factory in Pyongyang

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Diplomatic envoys and staff members of embassies and representatives of international organizations here Thursday visited the Pyongyang 326 Electric Wire Factory. @In front of the monuments to the on-the-spot instructions given by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il the guests were briefed on the fact that the factory has turned into the nation's leading electric wire producer under the care of the peerlessly great persons. Then they looked round the room devoted to the history of the factory.
    They went round with keen attention various work sites of the factory including the self-reliance shop, a wire drawing shop and a cable shop where a variety of quality electric wire were pouring out and cultural practices in production and hygiene were on a high level. At the end of the visit they made entries in the visitor's book.

Declaration Movement of Democratic Figures Announced in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- The south Korean People's Solidarity for Abolition of the "National Security Law" reportedly held a press conference in Seoul on Nov. 7 and announced the start of a declaration movement of 10,000 democratic figures for abolition of the NSL from Dec. 1. At the press conference speakers recalled that the Grand National Party and other anti-reunification forces evoked the "National Security Law" to block inter-Korean relations favorably developing and turn back history under the pretext of the recent case of Prof. Kang Jong Gu at Dongguk University. They said that with the regular session of the "National Assembly" at hand the conscientious forces would conduct a declaration movement from Dec. 1 to build public opinion for abrogation of the NSL and protect democracy and human rights on the strength of the masses.
    The organization announced at the press conference that it would set a week for abolition of the NSL beginning with the declaration movement and hold a candle-light rally, an "evening for abrogation of the NSL, democracy and human rights" and others.

S. Korean Parties Urged to Halt Political Bargaining

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Representatives of the "Emergency Measure Committee for Checking National Assembly's Ratification of Rice Negotiations", the "Headquarters of All-People Movement for Defending Our Rice and Food Sovereignty" and other peasant and civic and public organizations of south Korea called a press conference in front of the NA building in Seoul on Nov. 7 to bitterly denounce the ruling and opposition parties for attempting to use the rice issue as political bargaining, according to news reports. At the conference speakers disclosed the fact that on Nov. 4 the Uri Party and the Grand National Party agreed to deal with a bill on rice negotiations and a law on human rights in the north at a session the NA on Nov. 16.
    They noted that they can never pardon the bargaining of the political forces to sow discord between the south and the north and block the reconciliation and unity of the nation, instead of making a policy to revive agriculture.
    They cannot sit idle to see political forces' move to make a mess of agriculture, they said, calling upon civic and public organizations to pool efforts to frustrate it.
    On Nov. 4 representatives of peasant organizations and more than 20 assemblymen affiliated with the "Meeting of Assemblymen for Reviving Agriculture and Fishery" presented to the ruling and opposition authorities a written request containing a proposal for forming a joint meeting of three parties--government, the NA and peasant organization--to revive agriculture.

Performance "Arirang" Proved Very Successful

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- The grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", "Kim Il Sung Prize" winner, which had its premiere in the May Day Stadium on Rungra Islet on August 16 was closed on Oct. 30. More than 60 successful performances of Arirang drew at least 2.2 million Koreans from the north and south and overseas and foreigners. Arirang, a unique combination of Korean style gymnastics and performing art, is a grand monumental masterpiece in the 21st century as it made a comprehensive epic representation of the history of the Korean nation's destiny in the past and the present and future of Songun Korea. Leader Kim Jong Il saw to it that the performance was re-depicted on the occasion of the 60th anniversaries of the Workers' Party of Korea and the liberation of Korea to be an event specially recorded in the history of Korea and clearly indicated ways to do so.
    A national preparatory committee and a creative team were formed to reproduce Arirang which was created in Juche 91 (2002) to mark the 90th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
    In hearty response to the joint slogans of the WPK Central Committee and Central Military Commission which called for re-depicting Arirang as a masterpiece in the new century, creators and performers staged an intensive creating drive. They succeeded in successfully supplementing and completing a script and production designs properly retaining the theme of the original work and reflecting the present reality in a matter of less than one month. Kim Jong Il enjoyed the premiere given on August 16 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Korea and expressed great satisfaction over its success and sent thanks to all the performers on behalf of the WPK Central Committee, the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and its government.
    He spared time to watch the performance again on Oct. 9 and 29 and highly praised its creators and performers, noting that it played a great role in demonstrating to the world the appearance of Songun Korea and the spirit and might of the country on the occasion of the 60th anniversaries of the WPK and liberation of Korea. He extended thanks to them and presented them with gifts carrying his loving care to be handed down through generations. From its premiere Arirang evoked unprecedentedly lively response. The performance originally slated to close on Oct. 17 had to be extended till Oct. 30. Arirang aroused strong response among south Koreans, overseas Koreans and foreign guests.
    It, indeed, demonstrated to the world that a rosy future is always in store for Kim Il Sung's nation advancing, holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the sun of the 21st century.

Defending Human Rights and Sovereignty Called for

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- The U.S. application of double standards of human rights should be resolutely rejected to fairly solve the human rights issue in the international arena, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article. The U.S. keeps mum about human rights abuses in America and its allied and satellite countries while pressurizing and interfering in the internal affairs of anti-imperialist independent countries and going the lengths of using arms against them with two human rights yardsticks, the article says, and goes on: A fair solution to the human rights issue is no more than empty talk under the present international environment where appeals of small and weak countries and nations are squashed by the loud bluff of the U.S-led imperialist powers.
    Human rights will continue to be used as a plaything of the U.S. which is resorting to high-handed practices unless a favorable environment for all countries and nations to solve the human rights issues fairly and independently through democratization of the international community is provided. The U.S. imperialists' mode of dealing with the human rights issue characterized by unfair application of double standards, arrogant admonition and open interference in internal affairs of other countries has brought only mistrust and confrontation among countries.
    Human rights can never be defended and promoted by the method of unilateral pressure and sanctions based on the U.S. double standards of human rights.
    The imperialists' vicious moves for regime change, overthrow of system, under the pretext of "human rights issue" should be resolutely foiled. Anyone should not lend an ear to the U.S.-led imperialists' hypocritical and deceptive piffle about "human rights".
    Genuine human rights of the popular masses can be defended only through an uncompromising struggle against the imperialists who trample upon the sovereignty of other countries and nations.
    Imperialism, the U.S. imperialism in particular, is the worst human rights abuser and the biggest anti-independent force.
    Therefore, an unflinching struggle against the U.S. imperialists is the only way of defending genuine human rights and sovereignty.

Aggressive Conspiracy Contrary to National Cooperation

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- It is an open denial of the basic spirit of the June 15 joint declaration and criminal action of defying the declaration that the south Korean warlike forces are taking the road of military confrontation with fellow countrymen in "cooperation" with the outside forces, following their moves for a war against the north, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. In case "cooperation" with the outside forces in a war continues in south Korea, peace of the country will be exposed to danger and will entail irrevocable harmful consequences upon the development of inter-Korean relations, the article says, and goes on:
    Military "cooperation" with outsiders goes to prove that the south Korean warlike forces are still regarding their fellow countrymen in the north as "principal enemy" and watching for a chance for aggression. This action will only create distrust and aggravate tension, far from promoting inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation.
    The military conspiracy with outsiders is a dangerous gambling which may spark a war against the north. The U.S. is now talking about "dialogue" and "peaceful settlement" of the nuclear issue, but it is actually seeking to stifle the north by a war and watching for a chance to do so.
    The U.S. is, in camera, hastening the exercises for a surprise attack on nuclear facilities of the north and mapping out and renewing adventurous operation plans against the north one after another. This indicates that the U.S. intends to unhesitatingly use force on the Korean Peninsula. Under this situation, the south Korean military authorities are extensively reinforcing their armed forces under the signboard of "independent national defense" talking about "alliance" with the U.S., which will suit the strategic calculation of the U.S. bellicose elements and fan its ambition for a war against the north.

Choe Thae Bok Meets Chinese Delegation

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, today met and had a friendly talk with a delegation of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China headed by Deputy Director Yu Yunyao. On hand were Sin Yong Hun, deputy principal of Kim Il Sung Higher Party School, and Chinese Ambassador to Korea Wu Donghe and embassy officials. On the occasion the head said that during his visit he witnessed great successes achieved by the Korean people under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
    The Sino-Korean friendly and cooperative relations have been established by blood, he said, expressing the belief that the relations would continue to develop with the times.
    He wished the Korean people rallied close around Kim Jong Il greater success in their building of a great prosperous powerful nation.

Pak Pong Ju Meets Delegation of Korean Traders and Industrialists in Japan

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Premier of the DPRK Cabinet Pak Pong Ju Friday met and had a compatriotic talk with a delegation of Korean traders and industrialists in Japan with Ryang Su Jong, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, as its adviser and with Ri Pong Guk, chairman of the Federation of Korean Traders and Industrialists in Japan, as its head on a visit to the socialist homeland on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the formation of the FKTIJ at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.

Gift to Kim Jong Il from Party School of C.C., CPC

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il received a gift from the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. It was handed to Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, today by Deputy Director of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Yu Yunyao who is leading the delegation of the school on a visit to the DPRK.

U.S. Exercises for Preemptive Aerial Nuclear Attack on DPRK under Fire

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialist aggressors are now getting more frantic in their preparations for a preemptive nuclear attack on the DPRK, according to a military source. They let Guam-based "B-1B" strategic bombers fly in the air above Wonju and Thaebaek on Nov. 9 and 10 for madcap bombing exercises under the simulated conditions of preemptive nuclear attacks on the DPRK.
    On Nov. 8 their Guam-based "B-1B" strategic bomber made a shuttle flight in the air above Yongdong and Kongju to get familiar with long-distance navigation and terrain conditions.
    Such exercises staged for preemptive nuclear attacks with overseas-based strategic bombers involved clearly indicate that they are becoming more undisguised in their nuclear threat to the DPRK behind the scene of the six-party talks.

Message of Sympathy to Jordanian King

     Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Thursday sent a message of sympathy to Abdullah II, king of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as regards casualties caused by suicide bombings in Amman. The message expressed deep consolation to the king and through him to the Jordanian government and the bereaved families of the victims.

Agreement on Normalizing Tour of Mt. Kumgang Reached

     Kaesong, November 11 (KCNA) -- The Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee and Hyundai Group of south Korea had a contact in Kaesong from Nov. 10 to 11 at which a joint press release was issued. According the joint press release, the north and the south agreed to put the tour of Mt. Kumgang on a normal footing.
    At the contact Ri Jong Hyok, vice-chairman of the Committee, and Hyon Jong Un, chairwoman of Hyundai Group, shared the understanding that they started cooperation and have steadily developed it on the basis of compatriotism and trust over the last years, guided by the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration, thereby making a positive contribution to national reconciliation and unity, and decided on this basis to take necessary measures according to what was discussed on settling the abnormal situation created in the bilateral relations recently and building confidence.
    It was pointed out in the joint press release that both sides would hold at Mt. Kumgang resort joint celebrations of the 7th anniversary of the start of the tour of Mt. Kumgang which will fall on Nov. 19 and put the tour on a normal footing on this occasion on the premise that the bilateral good faith is kept. It was also agreed to continue consultations on other pending issues between the two sides in the future.

Tras recibir el parte de recibimiento, recorrio la sala de presentacion del historial.
    La unidad que ostenta la "Orden Kim Il Sung", la "Vanguardia Kum Song" y el titulo de Septimo Regimiento de O Jung Hup tiene la tradicion de tomar la delantera de apoyo a la direccion de nuestro partido mediante el Songun (priorizacion militar) dando pruebas de heroismo masivo en la defensa de la patria y la construccion del socialismo, dijo el Dirigente y evaluo altamente sus hazanas.

    El movimiento "Dia para los soldados", que se generaliza en todo el ejercito, surte cada dia mas vitalidad, dijo el Comandante Supremo y senalo que esto es un rasgo orgulloso que se puede manifestar solo en nuestro ejercito donde esta asegurada firmemente la unidad entre oficiales y soldados, entre superiores e inferiores.

PTC logra unidad monolitica con las masas populares

    @Pyongyang, 11 de noviembre (ATCC) -- La historia del Partido del Trabajo de Corea es la gloriosa que sale siempre victoriosa al formar la unidad monolitica con las masas populares. Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual del dia 11 y continua:
    Como se manifesto energicamente a traves de los actos por el sexagenario de la fundacion del PTC, hoy dia todo el pueblo de nuestro pais apoya y confia absolutamente al PTC guiado por el Dirigente Kim Jong Il y esta unido monoliticamente en torno al partido y el Lider.
    La historia de nuestro partido es la gloriosa y orgullosa que defendio firmemente y realizo brillantemente la demanda y los intereses de nuestro pueblo con la linea y la politica popular, y que acelero la revolucion y la construccion apoyandose en la fuerza del pueblo.
    Ademas es la trayectoria sagrada que vino cuidando enteramente con responsabilidad el destino de todo el pueblo.
    Por contar con el Presidente Kim Il Sung y el Dirigente Kim Jong Il en el puesto supremo, nuestro partido pudo formar la unidad monolitica con las masas populares y lograr la victoria con su poderio.
    El Presidente es el gran Lider quien dio inicio a la unidad monolitica de nuestro partido y pueblo.
    "Si confian y se apoyan en el pueblo, llegan a salir siempre victoriosos, pero si son repudiados por este, sufren mil derrotas", esto es la idea de Iminwichon (considerar al pueblo como el cielo) del Presidente. El lo tomo por el lema de su vida y esto devino el punto de partida principal y el maximo principio de la construccion y actividades de nuestro partido.
    La historia de la unidad monolitica de nuestro partido y pueblo a que dio inicio el Presidente la lleva adelante el Dirigente Kim Jong Il. Por contar con el Dirigente existe el invencible PTC que formo la unidad monolitica con las masas populares y en la defensa a ultranza del Dirigente reside la garantia decisiva para salvaguardar la unidad monolitica de nuestro partido y pueblo y lograr el triunfo final de la causa revolucionaria del Juche. Esto es el balance historico de la construccion y actividades de nuestro partido y la ferrea conviccion de los militantes del PTC y otros habitantes.

Rodong Sinmun denuncia injusta "pauta de DDHH"

    @Pyongyang, 11 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Para solucionar imparcialmente el problema de DDHH en la palestra internacional es preciso rechazar la aplicacion de la "pauta de DDHH" de doble rasero de Estados Unidos. Senala asi el diario Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual del dia 11 y prosigue:
    El Tio Sam tiene dos pautas de "DDHH": una para guardar silencio sobre el problema de DDHH de si mismo y de sus aliados y satelites, y otra para ejercer presion e intervenir en los asuntos internos de los paises antiimperialistas e independientes y emprender sin vacilacion la invasion armada. En la circunstancia internacional de hoy en que la demanda de los pequenos y debiles paises y naciones es pisoteada por las potencias imperialistas, la solucion imparcial del problema de DDHH no pasa de ser una mera palabreria.
    Mientras no se crea una circunstancia favorable para solucionar de manera independiente e imparcial el problema de DDHH de todos los paises y naciones mediante la realizacion de la democratizacion de la sociedad internacional, el DDHH seguira siendo un juguete de EE.UU. que blande el palo de despotismo.
    El modo de tratamiento de DDHH de los imperialistas caracterizado por el doble rasero, el consejo arrogante y la intervencion abierta en los asuntos internos de otros paises acarrea solo la desconfianza y confrontacion entre los paises.
    No pueden defender ni fomentar derechos humanos con la presion y sanciones unilaterales basadas en la norma de DDHH de doble rasero de EE.UU. Hay que frustrar tajantemente las siniestras maquinaciones de los imperialistas encaminadas a lograr la sustitucion del poder y el derrocamiento de regimen so pretexto del "problema de DDHH".
    Nunca se debe prestar oidos a la trompeta hipocrita y enganosa de "DDHH" de los imperialistas.
    El autentico derecho humano de las masas populares solo puede ser defendido solo por la lucha intransigente contra los imperialistas que pisotean la soberania de otros paises y naciones.
    Los imperialistas, en particular, los yanquis son archi-violadores de DDHH y fuerzas anti-independencia de peor calana.
    Por eso en la lucha despiadada contra los imperialistas norteamericanos reside el autentico camino para la defensa de DDHH y la soberania.
