Fabrication of "1905 Five-Point Treaty" Denounced in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- Several events were held in Seoul on Nov. 17, 100 years after the fabrication of the brigandish "1905 Five-Point Treaty" by the Japanese imperialists, according to the south Korean KBS.
A special exhibition took place at the Independence Memorial House.
On display there were data on the Sino-Japanese War, the Russia-Japan War and other wars of aggression waged by the Japanese imperialists and their colonial rule over Korea, illustrations disclosing the process of forcible fabrication of the "1905 Five-Point Treaty" and others.
The memorial house side said that the special exhibition is aimed to inform the people at home and abroad of the fact that the "treaty" is invalid in view of international law.
A photo show was held at the "National Assembly" to expose the Japanese imperialists' indiscriminate plunder of natural resources and cultural assets in Korea during their colonial rule.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held at the Kyongbok Palace in welcome of the regain of the monument to the great victory won in the northern part of Korea during the Imjin Patriotic War, which was seized by the Japanese imperialists in 1905.
Rally and Demonstration against War and Bush Held
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- A rally of civic and social organizations was held in Kyongju, North Kyongsang Province on Nov. 17 denouncing Bush's visit to south Korea, according to the south Korean KBS.
The ralliers charged that the aim sought by Bush in his visit to south Korea is to realize at any cost the strategy for world supremacy in Northeast Asia including the Korean Peninsula.
They said that the "government" of south Korea is in active cooperation with the U.S. moves for a war of aggression, strongly demanding that the "government" immediately give up a plan for extending the deployment of its troops in Iraq and drop its hostile policy toward the north.
At the end of the rally the participants waged a demonstration, shouting the slogans against war and Bush.
International Peace Forum Held in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- An "international peace forum for dismantlement of the U.S. military base and against war and neo-liberal 'globalization'" (Phyongthaek international peace forum) was held at Taechu Primary School in Phaengsong Township, Phyongthaek City, Kyonggi Province of south Korea on Nov. 16, according to a news report.
Present there were representatives of south Korean civic and public organizations including the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification and foreign activists under the "Pan-Asian Joint Action Opposing the U.S. and Japanese Imperialists' Domination over and Aggression of Asia".
Speakers at the forum said that they would fight to the end to check the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek for independence and peace on the Korean Peninsula.
A joint resolution of the Phyongthaek international forum was made public there.
It underscored the need to launch the intense struggle for the dismantlement of the U.S. military base in south Korea and other regions of Asia.
Noting that the U.S. neo-liberalism offensive and the strategy for military hegemony are all one in essence, it called upon the Asian people to achieve solidarity to check it.
Meeting for Making History of National Independence Held in Seoul
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- 80 south Korean civic and social organizations including the "Federation of Homogeneous Nation Movement Organizations" and the "Council of Bereaved Families of Men of Merit for Independence" held a meeting for making a history of national independence in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul on Nov. 17, a centenary since the fabrication of the "1905 Five-Point Treaty" which forced the fate of a stateless nation upon the Koreans, according to a press report.
An appeal to the 70 million Koreans on the occasion of the centenary of the fabrication of the "1905 Five-Point Treaty" was read out at the meeting. It said that the Koreans have undergone sufferings due to the national division for the last 60 years chiefly because the Japanese imperialists fabricated the illegal "treaty" and colonized Korea.
The appeal called upon the 70 million Koreans in the south and the north and overseas to unite as one under the banner of national great unity irrespective of ideology and system and carve out the future of the nation by their own efforts.
Speakers at the meeting noted that Japan has a long history of aggression against the Korean Peninsula, adding that it is still today desperately working to block the reunification of the Korean nation. We solemnly vow to decisively frustrate the Japanese imperialists' moves to perpetuate the division of the Korean nation and their ambition to stage a comeback to Korea, they declared.
Anti-North Human Rights Racket Assailed
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland Saturday issued a statement bitterly denouncing the anti-north human rights racket kicked up by south Korean ultra-right conservatives such as the "Grand National Party." It termed this row an unpardonable treacherous criminal act to tarnish the image of the dignified DPRK and create distrust and confrontation between compatriots in pursuance of the U.S. hostile policy towards it.
It went on: Shortly ago, the "General Federation of Christians" of south Korea at its "policy consultation" decided to handle mainly the "human rights issue" in the north with the federation's "human rights committee" playing a major role. It also said that it would hold in Seoul on Dec. 10 a prayer meeting urging the "north to improve its human rights record" with 100,000 Christians attending.
The "Network for Democratization" and other anti-north organizations announced that from the beginning of December they would set "a week of human rights" aimed at slandering the north and stage such ridiculous farces as an "international meeting of university students" and "photo exhibition" and even hold a "candlelight demonstration" against the north together with U.S. conservative anti-DPRK human rights organizations.
Meanwhile, the "Grand National Party" is getting more frantic in its anti-north human rights racket, much upset by its failure to pressurize the authorities to "vote" for the "UN resolution on human rights issue in the north."
The GNP and even some ultra-right conservative religious organizations in south Korea are taking the lead in their malignant smear campaign against the north over its "human rights issue." This is intended to realize the U.S. intention to escalate their anti-north campaign to stifle it under the pretext of its "human rights issue" in addition to its nuclear issue, deter the inter-Korean relations from favorably improving since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration and seek a "regime change" through the next "presidential election".
There can never be such a thing as "human rights issue" under the socialist system in the north chosen by its people as it is the most genuine society centered on the popular masses where everything serves the people and the people have become its master.
Nevertheless, the ultra-right conservative forces of south Korea keep mum about what their American master has done in flagrant violation of vital and other rights of Koreans, occupying south Korea for six decades but are playing the role of a shock brigade in supporting his smear campaign over its non-existent "human rights issue" in the north where the people are proud to be independent and dignified. This lays bare their true colors as despicable pro-U.S. sycophantic traitors.
We will never pardon those who try to defame the north's dignified political system and pursue the north-south confrontation and war but force them to pay a high price for their crimes through merciless retaliatory actions.
U.S. Urged to End Its Military Presence in Iraq
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- If the U.S. imperialists continue to pursue their policy of military occupation and rule over Iraq, defying the demand of the Iraqi people and the mind-set of the world public, they will meet only bitter shame and miserable death.
Rodong Sinmun Sunday warns this in a signed article as regards the daily increasing death toll of the U.S. forces in Iraq.
Recalling that the death toll of the U.S. forces in Iraq reached 2,020 and the number of those wounded 14,500 as of Oct. 31 and their casualties have further increased recently, the article says:
For this reason, the Bush administration is working hard to justify and perpetuate the U.S. military occupation and rule over Iraq, trumpeting that the U.S. is fighting in Iraq for a "free world" and urging the "brave U.S. soldiers" to fight for the sake of the "honor" of the U.S. But such behavior of the Bush administration has only driven the U.S. soldiers in Iraq into a bottomless dilemma.
It is beyond doubt that any U.S. measure to tighten its military occupation and rule over Iraq would only touch off stronger resistance of Iraqis against it.
Only disgrace and death await the aggressors. History has no precedent in which aggressors escaped their defeat. The U.S. is keen to establish the American-style domination and order in the world and act an emperor, going against the trend of the times. This is, however, as foolish an act as digging its own grave.
Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected KPA Unit 338.
After receiving a salute from servicepersons of the unit, he acquainted himself with its performance of duty.
Going round a military lecture room, he was satisfied to learn that it has successfully built the lecture room and made an effective use of it to firmly equip its commanding officers and men with the WPK's Juche-oriented war methods. He set forth tasks to be fulfilled to further increase its combat capability.
Looking round the servicepersons' hall, a library, a video recording and wire broadcasting room and other entertainment and educational facilities, he praised the unit for having in place sufficient means of various kinds necessary for the education of soldiers and widely using them and conducting effective revolutionary education and working class education on the basis of facts.
The servicepersons should become young heroes in the era of Songun who ardently love the country and unhesitatingly dedicate their youth and lives to the fight for the country like Hero Ri Su Bok, he noted, adding that to this end it is necessary to conduct the political and ideological education in a more dynamic manner.
It is very good that the unit has built a good library and effectively operated it to make all servicepersons avid readers, he noted, underscoring the need to thoroughly establish the revolutionary habit of reading.
Making the rounds of a mess hall, a kitchen, a daily provision store and other supply service facilities, he learned about the soldiers' living and highly appreciated their tenacious life style.
Informed that the sub-units of the unit have reaped a high harvest by successfully doing the sideline farming, he pointed out that all units have made signal progress in the sideline job in recent years. This laudable change represents a feat which can be performed only by the KPA which has rendered its services for the prosperity and development of the country, upholding the Party by the sweat of its brow with ardent patriotism.
He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the unit.
He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su and Pak Jae Gyong and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK.

He noted that Cyprus and the DPRK have supported each other in UN and non-alignment movement because their territories are divided and the friendly relations are very close though they are geographically far away from each other.

Police Suppression under Fire
Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- A "joint press conference of the farmers, civic, public and religious organizations to denounce the suppression of the national farmers' meeting" was held in Seoul under the sponsorship of the "emergency measure committee to check the passage of the bill on rice negotiations through 'National Assembly'" on Nov. 16, according to a news report.
Speakers at the press conference charged that 55 of the participants in the "national farmers' meeting" were taken away, 110 may lose their eyesight and more than 500 were wounded due to the Nov. 15 cruel suppression by the riot police. This is the extremely murderous act, they stressed.
The press release read at the press conference noted that the Youido Park on Nov. 15 was the scene of the Kwangju incident in May 1980.
We can no longer pardon the government which does not regard the farmers as its people, it said, stressing:
If the "National Assembly" railroads the bill, it will meet a protest stronger than that of the day.
60th Anniversary of People's Security Organ Marked
Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- A meeting to commemorate the 60th founding anniversary of the people's security organ was held at the Ponghwa Art Theatre Friday.
Minister of People's Security Ju Sang Song in his report noted that the 60 year-long course covered by the people's security organ is a glorious history in which the organ has developed into a guard force of the party and the leader and a worthwhile history in which it has successfully fulfilled its honorable mission and duty of protecting the security of the socialist system and the people's lives and properties.
President Kim Il Sung all his revolutionary life provided outstanding guidance and showed deep loving care and trust in the people's security persons and led them with great attention to fulfill the noble mission and duty as political defenders of the party, he said, and went on:
Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il, attaching great importance to strengthening the people's security organ in every way along with the People's Army, has deepened and developed the Juche-oriented idea and line of building the people's security organ and wisely led the people's security organ to be ranks fully equipped with a revolutionary view on the leader, the view on devotedly defending the headquarters of the revolution.
Kim Jong Il paid deep attention to the work to further strengthen and develop the people's security organ into one for revolutionary dictatorship boundlessly faithful to the idea and guidance of the party and the leader. He, at the same time, has led the organ to provide a sure guarantee for the implementation of the economic policy of the party and decisively frustrate the reactionary ideological and cultural poisoning by the class enemies, thereby making sure that the single-minded unity of the DPRK was consolidated in every way and the gains of socialism were firmly defended.
The reporter called upon all the people's security persons to devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution under the uplifted banner of Songun and bring about a fresh turn in the work for people's security and reliably defend the general advance of the Songun revolution.

Protest Actions against Bush's S. Korea Visit Go on
Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The Seoul District Federation of University Student Councils (Sochongryon) under the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils and the Pusan Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration separately issued statements in denunciation of Bush's south Korea visit on Nov. 16 and 17, according to a press report.
Sochongryon in its statement termed Bush's visit to south Korea part of the U.S. persistent moves for a war on the Korean Peninsula.
The aim of the "south Korea-U.S. summit talks" this time is to further strengthen the humiliating "south Korea-U.S. alliance" and stoke the atmosphere of war in south Korea, it said.
The youths and students will clearly show arrogant Bush the will of the Korean nation for peace against war, the statement warned.
The Pusan solidarity in its statement said that Bush seeks to strengthen "south Korea-U.S. alliance" and force south Korea to extend the term of its troops' presence in Iraq and cooperate in the efforts to realize the "strategic flexibility" of the U.S. forces in south Korea at the "south Korea-U.S. summit talks."
Meanwhile, the Women's Action against Bush called a press conference in Seoul on Nov. 15 in protest against Bush's visit to south Korea.
A women's declaration signed by at least 60 women's organizations was read out at the press conference. It branded Bush as a warmonger who disturbs the life of the world people and threatens peace, noting that women's organizations would hold a women's conference in Pusan in protest against Bush's visit to south Korea.
Members of women's organizations called press conferences in Pusan and Jinju, South Kyongsang Province, on the same day to denounce Bush's visit.
Struggle against Expansion of U.S. Base in Phyongthaek Goes on
Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The 74th anti-U.S. solidarity meeting was reportedly held to check the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek in Seoul on Nov. 15.
The participants bitterly denounced the U.S. moves to expand its forces base in Phyongthaek for realizing their "strategic flexibility" and demanded them stop the moves.
At the end of the meeting the participants headed for the U.S. embassy to convey a letter of protest.
When the riot police blocked their way, the participants staged an all-night hunger sit-in strike on the road.
They held the 441st candlelight meeting there to check the expansion of the U.S. military base.
U.S. Sanctions and Blockade Policy towards DPRK under Fire
Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Department of Treasury recently made public a decision calling for freezing overseas assets of the DPRK trading companies dealing with economic institutions of the U.S. and including on the list of targets of its sanctions even those companies and individuals of third countries making deals with the DPRK companies under the absurd pretext of "suspected proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their delivery means."
Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes in a signed article in this regard:
Needless to say, this is part of the U.S. extremely provocative hostile policy to stifle the DPRK as it reveals its attempt to lay an "international siege" to the DPRK which has already been put into practice under a carefully worked-out plan.
The U.S. application of economic sanctions against the DPRK and its blockade operation against it are a prelude to a war aimed to have a firm grip on a strategic stronghold in Northeast Asia
The U.S. economic sanctions against the DPRK presuppose military aggression and are aimed at achieving its strategic aim to carry out it with ease. Through economic sanctions and blockade the U.S. seeks to isolate the DPRK as thoroughly as possible and neutralize it economically and militarily and contain it by force in the end.
It even urged the DPRK's neighboring countries to reduce economic ties and trade with it and apply sanctions against it.
At its instructions the Japanese reactionaries participated in the multi-national joint military exercises of intercepting and seizing DPRK airliners and ships and perpetrated such mean acts as restricting and barring the DPRK-flagged ships from entering their ports.
It is nothing but a folly for the U.S. imperialists and its followers to try to browbeat the Korean people through "sanctions" and "blockade" and attain their political and military purposes.
The Korean people value peace and do not want a war. But they will never allow the enemies to infringe upon the sovereignty of their country and try to conquer their inviolable territory by force. They will mobilize all potentials and strongly react against them.
The U.S. should draw a serious lesson from its past unsuccessful moves to blockade and apply sanctions against the DPRK and properly judge the strength and staunch fighting spirit of the Korean people.
Should the U.S. imperialists and international reactionary forces dare violate the sovereignty and right to existence of the Koreans through vicious blockade and sanctions and come in attack to destroy the socialist system by force, the Koreans will deal thousand-fold retaliatory blows at them. The U.S. had better properly understand the strength and will of the Korean people and stop its sanctions and blockade policy aimed to launch a war against the DPRK.
Withdrawal of U.S. Forces from S. Korea Urged
Pyongyang, November 19 (KCNA) -- 30 years have passed since the adoption of the resolution on the issue of Korea by an overwhelming majority vote at the 30th UN General Assembly on Nov. 18, 1975.
In this regard Rodong Sinmun Saturday carries a signed article.
It says:
But still today, the U.S. imperialists have kept their aggression troops under the helmets of "UN Forces" along with the "UN Forces Command" in south Korea, forcing the Korean nation to suffer the endless tragedy of division and gravely threatening the peace on the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia. This is a shameless criminal act which can never be justified with any reason or pretext and proves that the U.S. is an empire of ferocious aggressors who blatantly defy the UN.
Though 50 years have passed since the ceasefire of the Korean war, the U.S. has persistently worked to maintain the titular "UN Forces Command" in south Korea, while letting its forces there go under the helmet of "UN Forces." This is in pursuance of its policy of aggression against the DPRK.
The root cause of the constant danger of war to the Korean Peninsula lies in the presence of the U.S. troops in south Korea and their moves for a war of aggression.
At this moment, too, the U.S. is busy with the transfer and reorganization of its aggression troops, while shipping ultra-modern assault weapons and other war equipment into south Korea. These are premeditated military moves. It is by no means secret that these moves are fraught with the great danger of invading the DPRK and containing China by using south Korea as an advance base and mounting even a military attack upon it if necessary.
The U.S. war-mongers are trumpeting about "regional security" and "war deterrent" in a bid to justify their military occupation of south Korea. This is, however, nothing but sophism which can convince no one. The continued presence of the U.S. aggressor forces in south Korea is an unpardonable crime against humanity as it is aimed at perpetuating the bitter pain and tragedy resulting from the territorial division the Koreans have suffered.
There is no reason for the U.S. to refuse to pull back from south Korea its troops, the cancer-like entity standing in the way of peace and reunification of Korea, if it truly wants peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula.
With nothing can the U.S. justify the presence of its forces in south Korea and there is neither ground nor pretext for the U.S. imperialist aggression troops to stay there.
The U.S. would be well advised to face up to the trend of the times and roll back at once its hostile policy toward the DPRK, disband the "UN Forces Command" and withdraw its troops from south Korea without delay.
