Mexican Nursery and Kindergarten to Go by Name of Kim Jong Suk
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- A ceremony of putting up the signboard bearing the august name of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk was held at the 10th nursery and kindergarten of the center for the development of children in Nuevo Leon State, Mexico, on Nov. 25 on the occasion of her 88th birth anniversary.
The signboard bears not only the august name of Kim Jong Suk but President Kim Il Sung's words that the children are the kings of the country and the sentence that the educational department of the government in Nuevo Leon State, Mexico, and the center for the development of children have decided to call the 10th nursery and kindergarten by the name of Kim Jong Suk on Nov. 25, 2005.
Coordinator (leader) of the National Executive Committee of the Workers' Party of Mexico Alberto Anaya Gutierrez said that the 10th nursery and kindergarten is the first in Latin America to be called by the name of the great hero of Korea Kim Jong Suk and paid high tribute to Kim Il Sung who built a new society where people lead a happy life and Kim Jong Suk who performed undying exploits while assisting him in his work.

A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at this ceremony.

Move to Extend Term of Presence of S. Korean Troops in Iraq Assailed
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front of south Korea on Dec. 3 issued a statement denouncing the south Korean authorities for recently passing a "motion calling for the extension of the term of the presence of the Jaitun unit in Iraq" through the cabinet meeting and referred it to the "National Assembly", according to the Internet site of Kuguk Jonson.
The statement termed the above-said behavior a despicable servile act of offering young and middle-aged people to the U.S. troops as bullet shields and sacrificing them, yielding to the U.S. pressure.
This is an intolerable treacherous act against the parents of those soldiers in Iraq who are eager to see them to return as early as possible and other people and a blatant challenge to the world peace-loving people desirous of peace and stability in Iraq, the statement said, and went on:
What is intolerable is that the authorities are working desperately to keep the troops in Iraq in a bid to round off their preparations to invade the north alongside the U.S. forces.
These war preparations stepped up by them in collusion with the U.S. under the signboard of "the peaceful reconstruction" are an unpardonable treacherous criminal act of diametrically running counter to the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.
If the authorities truly wish peace and stability in Iraq, national reconciliation and the reunification of the country, they should not toe the U.S. brigandish policy of occupation of Iraq, the policy unanimously condemned by the international community, but immediately withdraw all south Korean troops from Iraq as demanded by the people, the statement urged.
Women's Action Starts in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- An inaugural ceremony of the south Korean women's action for self-governing life and fair politics (women's action) made up of 73 women organizations in south Korea reportedly took place in Seoul on Nov. 29.
Speakers at the ceremony said that it is the goal of activities of the women's action to put an end to all sorts of irregularities and corruption perpetrated by local assembly members.
Urging the women to engage themselves in politics, they declared that they would convince them that they are powerful beings in the local assembly election to be held next year and conduct activities to ensure that a fair election would be conducted.
The ceremony adopted an action plan calling for receiving and opening to the public reports about those candidates who commit crimes against women in various areas such as sexual violence, family violence and sexual traffic and conducting information service urging the women to take an active part in politics.
An art performance was given at the end of the ceremony.
U.S. Anti-DPRK Campaign over "Human Rights Issue" Assailed
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) - The United States is talking a lot about "defence of human rights" though it is infringing upon the inviolable national sovereignty and even the elementary principle of human rights and trampling down upon the worth and safety of precious human lives. We indict the U.S. as the world's greatest terrorist state and the worst human rights abuser. We appeal to all lawyers of the world with conscience, human rights organizations and international organizations that value justice and truth to decisively reject the U.S. anti-DPRK "human rights" campaign and send support and solidarity to the DPRK government and people in their just cause to defend the state sovereignty, a fundamental guarantee for human rights.
A spokesman for the Korean Lawyers Committee said this in a statement issued on Dec. 5 in protest against the anti-DPRK "resolution on human rights performance" based on misinformation railroaded by the U.S. and its allies through the third committee of the 60th U.N. General Assembly.
Citing the monstrous crimes against humanity committed by the U.S. in Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries, the statement continued: The U.S. is so brazen-faced as to say this or that about "human rights performance" in other countries, styling itself "a human rights judge" whom nobody recognizes. This is something preposterous which humankind cannot but deplore.
The ultimate goal of the anti-DPRK "human rights" campaign the U.S. has staged with the mobilization of its followers even on the U.N. forum is to destroy Korean-style socialism.
Having found it hard to force the DPRK to scrap its nuclear program first in a bid to disarm it, the present U.S. administration steeped in the inveterate rejection of the system in the DPRK puts up a "human rights" signboard and leaves no means untried to label the DPRK a "lawless state." The present disturbing reality that a crime committed by the strong is treated as a good conduct while the week's good conduct is regarded as an evil deed deeply convinces the Korean people of the truth that human rights precisely mean national sovereignty and this sovereignty can be guaranteed only by strong deterrent, the statement concluded.
Japanese Reactionaries' Reckless Campaign against Chongryon under Fire
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries "brought an action" against the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon). This is intended to do harm to and slander Chongryon so as to tarnish the authority and dignity of the DPRK, incite bitterness toward Chongryon and the DPRK among Japanese and create a social atmosphere favorable for reviving militarism.
Rodong Sinmun Monday observes this in a signed commentary in connection with the fact that the Resolution and Collection Corporation of Japan filed a suit in the Tokyo Metropolitan Court against Chongryon over the "issue of bad bond" of the Credit Association of Korean Bank. It goes on:
What matters is that the authorities are directly involved in the anti-Chongryon campaign. For example, Chief Cabinet Secretary Abe supported the above-said action as if he had waited for this to happen, asserting that it was a "proper counteraction". This clearly suggests that the recent action was a plot hatched under the direct manipulation of the Japanese authorities and at their instructions.
What merits a more serious attention is that Abe, spearheading the anti-Chongryon campaign, blared that "it would not directly affect" the inter-governmental talks between Japan and the DPRK.
Japan has brought the DPRK-Japan relations to an extreme phase while blindly toeing the U.S. line and persistently pursuing the hostile policy toward the DPRK in contravention of the spirit of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration. It persistently raised the abduction issue which had already been settled through the declaration in an attempt to politicize and internationalize it and thus tarnish the dignity and image of the DPRK. Not content with this, it has further intensified its anti-DPRK campaign over its "nuclear and missile issues." It is Japan which has taken the lead in laying an "international siege" to the DPRK, pursuant to the U.S. policy.
Should Japan persist in such acts, it will only bring the DPRK-Japan relations to a dangerous phase.
The Japanese authorities had better behave themselves with cool heads.
Unionists' Rally and Demonstration Held in South Korea
Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The South Kyongsang Provincial Headquarters of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) reportedly held a rally for a general strike for winning legislation on guaranteeing the rights of part-time workers in the central sports park of Changwon in South Kyongsang Province on Dec. 1.
Attending there were at least 2,000 workers under KCTU.
Speeches were made at the rally and a resolution was made public.
The number of part-timers has been increased by 400,000 this year in the wake of last year, the resolution said, strongly demanding the "government" provide legislation on guaranteeing rights to them as early as possible.
While the workers are subject to suppression as part-timers, the peasants were deprived of their means of living owing to the unjust agricultural policy of the "government," the resolution said, stressing that the workers will certainly emerge victorious in the struggle to protect their vital rights in solidarity with the peasants.
Prior to the rally, Ri Hung Sok, chairman of the South Kyongsang Provincial Headquarters of KCTU, and other trade union leaders had their haircut short in protest against the attitude of the "government."
At the end of the rally its participants marched as far as the building of the South Kyongsang Provincial Committee of the Uri Party.
Then the participants in the demonstration held with the peasants under the Pusan-South Kyongsang Provincial Federation of the National Federation of Peasants Associations a rally for an all-out struggle to be participated in by workers and peasants.
Meanwhile, at least 12,000 union members of the organization entered a general strike at more than 20 work places in the province that day.
