Two Important Anniversaries of DPRK Commemorated in Foreign Countries

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Round-table talks were held by the 4th District, Prague, Committee of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia of the Czech Republic, a seminar on the Songun politics and a film show by the Group of Youth for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea in Vienna, Austria, and a film show was arranged by the Laos-Korea Tin Company from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and the 88th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. Participants of the film shows watched Korean films "For Liberation of Country" and "International Friendship Exhibition".
    The vice-chairman of the above-said party district committee said at the round-table talks that the people of the DPRK who, led by Kim Jong Il, have inherited excellent traditions, have firmly defended their system and made steady great progress in their struggle to build their country and achieve national reunification.
    The chief of the above-said study group noted at the seminar that Kim Jong Il has carried forward the Songun idea and line of President Kim Il Sung and developed them in depth. He referred to the brilliant revolutionary life and undying exploits performed by Kim Jong Suk who devoted her all to the country's liberation and the victory of the Korean revolution.
    The manager of the company and others at the film shows said that the DPRK would emerge ever-victorious as a great prosperous powerful nation because its people hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.
    Meanwhile, a seminar and a film show were held by the Bangladesh Institute of the Juche Idea, a meeting was held by the Central Committee of the Poland-Korea Association and a film show by the Paektusan Czech-Korea Friendship Association from Nov. 23 to 26.

Opening of "Rally on Human Rights Issue in North" Assailed in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions in a statement issued on Dec. 6 bitterly denounced the opening of "a rally on the human rights issue in the north". The propaganda over "human rights issue" is a trite method employed by the U.S. for carrying out its strategy for global domination, it noted. Strongly demanding an immediate halt to the above-said rally as it is going against the peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, the statement urged the U.S. to withdraw its hostile policy toward the DPRK as quickly as possible.
    The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in a statement released on the same day asserted that there should be an international rally to condemn the human rights abuses of the U.S. and the Grand National Party in Seoul. It underscored the need to open to the public all the savage violations of human rights committed by the U.S. and the pro-American conservative forces and certainly force them to pay for them.

DPRK Delegation Calls for Intensified Int'l Labor Movement

     Havana, December 7 (KCNA) -- The World Federation of Trade Unions and all progressive trade organizations should boost the solidarity and cooperation under the uplifted banner of independence against imperialism and thus put the international labor movement on a new higher stage. Head of the delegation of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea Kim Yong Do who is vice-chairman of the C.C, GFTUK, declared this on Dec. 2 when addressing the plenary session of the 15th congress of the WFTU which opened in Havana.
    He referred to the fact that the WFTU has made a great contribution to the struggle for accomplishing the human cause of independence through its struggle for protecting the world peace from war and defending the rights and interests of the international working class over the last six decades. He expressed thanks to the WFTU and friendly trade organizations in all countries for having sent invariable support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to defend the socialist system, build a great prosperous powerful nation and achieve national reunification.
    The WFTU's general secretary and delegates of the trade unions from various countries including Syria, India, Spain and Brazil and a delegate of the International Confederation of Public Service Officers assailed the U.S. imperialists' moves against the DPRK. The Korean people have foiled all sorts of obstructive moves of the U.S. imperialists and defended socialism, thus powerfully encouraging the working class and other progressive forces of the world, they stressed.
    A resolution on solidarity for Korea was adopted at the congress.

Solidarity Resolution on Korea Adopted at 15th Congress of WFTU

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- A resolution protesting against the U.S. imperialists' political pressure and economic sanctions and military moves for aggression against the DPRK was adopted at the 15th Congress of the World Federation of Trade Unions in Havana on Dec 4. The congress recognizes that the political pressure, economic sanctions and military moves for aggression and other crimes perpetrated by the U.S. against the Korean people over the last six decades since its military occupation of a half of Korea after the end of the Second World War have seriously threatened not only peace and security on the Korean Peninsula but also peace and security in the rest of the world, it noted.
    The resolution demanded the U.S. withdraw its aggression forces from south Korea as required by the resolution adopted at the 30th UN General Assembly and urged by all Koreans in the north and the south and sincerely fulfill its commitments on the principle of "words for words" and "action for action" laid down in the joint statement adopted at the forth round of the six-party talks on the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.

EU's Partial Behavior under Fire

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Some forces of the EU introduced a "human rights resolution" against the DPRK and had it adopted at the recent third committee of the 60th UN General Assembly in a coercive manner. Minju Joson Friday carries a signed commentary in this regard.
    It says:
    The U.S. has become loud in trumpeting that there exists a "human rights issue" in the DPRK. This is, however, a product of its strategy to realize a regime change in it to serve its purpose of tarnishing the image of the dignified DPRK and undermining most advantageous man-centered Korean-style socialism. If some forces of the EU are truly concerned for the settlement of human rights issues, they should take issue with the U.S., the world's worst human rights abuser, to begin with.
    The recently disclosed facts about the U.S. operation of secret prisons in European countries are a good example of its human rights abuses. The U.S. operation of these prisons and CIA planes' use of airports of those countries for transporting POWs are the most hideous human rights abuses which can never be justified and, at the same time, wanton violations of the sovereignty of EU member nations.
    One can draw a definite conclusion that the EU itself is falling victim to the U.S. high-handed and arbitrary practices and its violation of human rights and national sovereignty.
    Some EU forces are saying this or that about the human rights performance in other countries incurring their displeasure while shelving the U.S. hideous human rights abuses. This makes the DPRK strongly skeptical about their stand on the human rights issue.
    By nature, the EU should naturally adopt an independent political mode of thinking and solving problems free from the policy of toeing the U.S. line.

Pro-U.S. Conservative Forces' Treacherous Crimes Denounced in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The gentries of the worst conservative organizations including the "Fellowship Society for Those Special Operatives Dispatched to the North" in south Korea destroyed with a hammer and the like six gravestones of unconverted long-term prisoners in Yonhwa Park in Pogwang Temple, Kwangthan-myon, Phaju City, Kyonggi Province and poured red paint on the destroyed tombstones and boxes containing the remains of the prisoners. In this regard a spokesman for the DPRK Measure Committee for Rescuing the Unconverted Long-term Prisoners in south Korea in a statement on Dec. 8 denounced this rowdyism.
    The statement said:
    These hooligans committed such inhuman crimes in broad daylight after letting loose malignant vituperation, crying that history and people can no longer allow "patriotic figures", "men of justice" and other letters to remain on the tombstones.
    The GNP and other ultra right-wing conservative forces, not content with desecrating graves of unconverted long-term prisoners and demanding their removal, committed such crimes as destroying the gravestones at a time when there are strong voices in south Korea demanding that the unconverted long-term prisoners be praised as patriotic martyrs for reunification, the truth behind the crude violation of their rights and inhuman treatment of them be probed and compensation be made for them. This is a monstrous criminal act which can be perpetrated only by the barbarians bereft of elementary ethics and morality.
    The unconverted long-term prisoners in south Korea are miserable sufferers who had been subject to brutal torture, evil deeds and all sorts of inhuman treatment beyond human imagination for decades for the mere reason that they refused to abandon their ideology and faith. Nevertheless, they committed the above-said crimes, as if it were not enough with the atrocities perpetrated against those prisoners when they were alive. This is an unpardonable violation of human rights as it is nothing but double murder of them. These facts go to prove once again that they are like a group of most ferocious brutes.
    Those forces do not give the patriotic martyrs for reunification any space to lie in state even after their death, while opposing the removal of the statue of Macarthur, chieftain of aggression and murder who inflicted the war disaster upon the Korean nation, and even restoring it. This treachery is unpardonable.
    The south Korean people from all walks of life should severely punish the pro-U.S. conservative forces including the GNP for adding to their crimes committed against the Korean nation by perpetrating treacherous and anti-reunification acts and crimes against humanity.

All Koreans Called upon to Achieve Great National Unity and Implement Joint Declaration

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- A seminar on the theme of "Peaceful reunification of the country and prospect of 2006" was held in Los Angeles on Dec. 1, according to the Internet homepage of Minjok Thongsin in the United States. A keynote speech titled "The orientation of reunification movement for 2006 and its tasks" was followed by speeches.
    Recalling that the grand festival for national reunification was successfully held in Pyongyang to mark the 5th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration and the August 15 national meeting for independence, peace and reunification was also significantly held in Seoul, they noted that this year is a historic year in the movement for the reunification of the Korean nation.
    They appealed to all Koreans in the United States to make efforts to achieve the peaceful reunification on the Korean Peninsula. There were questions and answers on different issues such as the issue of the south Korea-U.S. relations and the issue of the repeal of the "National Security Law".

Russian State Chorus Gives Guest Performance

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The visiting Russian State Academic People's Chorus Named after M. E. Pyatnichki gave a performance for guests of honor at the Ponghwa Art Theatre here on Thursday. Invited to see the performance were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Choe Thae Bok, Kim Ki Nam and other officials concerned and creators and artistes in the city.
    Among the audience were Aleksandra Permyakova, head and manager of the chorus, Andrei Karlov, Russian ambassador to the DPRK, and embassy officials.
    The Russian artistes successfully presented choruses "A Vast Plain", "My Happiness", "O, Mountain" and "A Cuckoo, Don't Croak", the Russian folk songs spiced with national flavor. They also staged male chorus and dance "Had I Known about It", choruses and dances "A Willow on a Mountain" and "On the Riverside and by the Side of a Bridge" and other numbers with merry music and dynamic and graceful rhythms.
    The audience was deeply impressed by Russian songs "Kalinka" and "Wave on the River Amur" well known to the Korean people for the refined rendition and a high level of representation.
    The Russian chorus's performance tour of the DPRK is a clear proof of the DPRK-Russia friendly relations growing stronger day by day.

Annulment of Ratification of Proposal for Rice Negotiations at "NA" Demanded in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- A press conference demanding the annulment of the ratification of a proposal for rice negotiations at the "National Assembly", probe into the truth behind the murder of peasant Jon Yong Chol and punishment of those responsible for the murder reportedly took place at the Citizens Park of Kwanghwamun in Seoul on Dec. 5 with the attendance of newly elected presidents of the general student councils of 35 universities including Kyonggi University, Seoul University of Industry, Sungsil University, Yonsei University, Chonnam National University and Hongik University. Speakers at the press conference declared that the ratification of a proposal for rice negotiations at the "NA" can never be pardoned as it is a heinous crime selling the sovereign right to food to the outside forces and sentencing peasants to death.
    They said that through the all-people signature campaign for probing the truth behind the murder of peasant Jon Yong Chol, punishing those responsible for the murder and essentially resurrecting agriculture they would demand the annulment of the ratification of the proposal for rice negotiations, immediate apology of the police who assaulted the participants in the national meeting of peasants held in Nov. 15 and the punishment of those responsible for the murder.
    The newly elected presidents of the general student councils of the universities present at the press conference said that they would develop the struggle into an all-people movement in the future.

Kim Jong Il's Aphorism Praised

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's aphorism "The Destiny of a Nation Is a Destiny of an Individual and the Latter's Life Is Guaranteed by the Former's Life" gives Juche-based exposition of the destiny and life of the nation and an individual and clarifies a correct view on their relationship on this basis, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article. The aphorism expounds the idea that the destiny of the nation is inseparably linked to that of an individual and the life of an individual will be praiseworthy only when it is devoted to achieving the prosperity of the nation, the article says, and goes on:
    The genuine life of human being is unthinkable apart from the country and the nation and the destiny of human being cannot be existent apart from that of the country and the nation.
    The history of the nation's division and the on-going movement for national reunification eloquently prove the truth of this aphorism. National reunification will guarantee the independence of the nation and its happiness and prosperity. The country can be reunified only when all the fellow countrymen relate their destiny to that of the country and the nation and turn out as one for its sovereignty.
    The birth of the June 15 era is a historic victory achieved in the struggle to develop the cause of national reunification into the cause of national independence and a precious fruition of the struggle. The Koreans are waging a dynamic nationwide struggle to achieve national reconciliation, cooperation and independent reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself" and registering wonderful successes in the struggle. The stirring reality of the June 15 era of reunification shows that miracles and successes are made only when all fellow countrymen make patriotic devotion with consciousness that they are masters responsible for the destiny and life of the nation and an individual.

Song of Hero Produced in Songun Era

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The Merited State Chorus of the Korean People's Army has recently composed the poem of Hero Ri Su Bok "For the Fatherland, Only One" as a song. As soon as it was published, the song is touching the heartstrings of all the servicepersons and people with a great influence. The song fully reflects the revolutionary spirit of heroic servicepersons in the 1950s and the true view of life to be possessed of by the people in the era of Songun.
    Rodong Sinmun dated December 1 highlights on the front page the song run through with the spirit of defending the fatherland with the very life. The mass media continue to report public reaction to it.
    Singing the song, the servicepersons harden their pledge to become a hero like Ri Su Bok in the efforts for guarding the headquarters of the revolution. U.S., Principal Violator of Human Rights

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Fifty-seven years have passed since the adoption of the world human rights declaration (December 10). However, the cherished desire of the popular masses for genuine human rights has not come true.
    The U.S. has intensified its reactionary suppression of human rights and justified its invasion of other countries under the guise of "defense of human rights".
    It has openly interfered in the internal affairs of other countries, taking issue with their "human right situation" in the "annual human rights reports" it has made public as if it were a "human rights judge".
    In particular, the U.S. enacted the "law on human rights in north Korea" with a sinister scheme to "collapse" the Democratic People's Republic of Korea that is advancing forward under the banner of socialism and is slinging mud at its social system.
    It is the stark reality that all the people of the DPRK evenly enjoy genuine human rights including political freedom and rights to work, rest, free education and free medical care.
    Contrary to this, in the U.S., which is styling itself an "equal society for all people" and "welfare society for all people", broad sections of working people are denied social and political rights in the political arena. Therefore, people of the U.S. including high ranking officials deplore that the political rights and liberty and freedom of speech, ideology and expression are at a crisis in the United States.
    Now so many people of the United States are jobless and destitute and can not enjoy medical care for lack of money. According to recent data available, 38.2 million people are suffering from hunger.
    The wars of aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq launched by the U.S. under the plea of "anti-terrorism" after the "September 11 incident" in 2001 have disclosed in all nakedness who is the principal violator of human rights.
    U.S. soldiers are still abusing human rights in different parts of Iraq.
    Recently, a fact that the U.S. has set up secret camps in Eastern European countries and other parts of the world has been brought to light, shocking the world community.

KCNA Blasts Hysteric Anti-DPRK Human Rights Charade

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The United States sponsored the second "international rally on the north Korean human rights issue" in Seoul at which the so-called "Seoul declaration" was adopted. The U.S. is now spearheading an international "human rights" campaign against the DPRK by bringing together the "special envoy in charge of the north Korean human rights issue" of the Department of State and other officials in charge of the Korean affairs and "human rights issue" of the administration, so-called "human rights activists" and delegates of religious organizations from Europe and ultra-right forces of south Korea.
    It has launched another "human rights offensive" against the DPRK, not content with railroading the "human rights resolution" against it through the third committee of the 60th UN General Assembly by instigating Japan, Britain and other EU member nations.
    The rally was a product of an extremely sinister political plot of unsavory forces including the U.S. keen on the anti-DPRK smear campaign to fabricate sheer lies about the human rights performance in the DPRK in a bid to hype it as an "institutional problem" and internationalize it. The U.S. allocated tens of millions of dollars for its anti-DPRK campaign from its federal budget after adopting the "North Korean Human Rights Act". It spent millions of dollars for the rally held in the wake of the 1st rally in July.
    The anti-DPRK "human rights racket" kicked up by the U.S. is part of its plot to divert elsewhere the accusing finger pointed by the international community at it and thus get rid of a crisis.
    The U.S. has been driven into a tight corner due to the killings of peaceable civilians in Iraq and torture of prisoners in its Guantanamo base and other places of the world besides its human rights issue in the U.S. where the elementary human rights have been abused. Moreover, the U.S. is practically sitting in the dock as the international community is becoming increasingly critical of the existence of CIA-operated secret prisons in East European countries and other countries of the world.
    The U.S., the world's worst human rights abuser, is now vociferously calling for the "improvement of human rights performance and democracy" only to become the world's laughing stock.
    The U.S. seems to feel an urgent need to stage a smear campaign aimed at tarnishing the international image of the DPRK, prompted by its inveterate rejection of the DPRK's independent foreign policy.
    As the U.S. offensive to pressurize the DPRK to abandon its nuclear program first proved futile, it is now citing the human rights issue for realizing its wild design to "destroy the system" in the DPRK at any cost.
    All facts go to prove that the U.S. is wantonly violating the spirit of the September 19 joint statement adopted by the six parties and persistently pursuing its hostile policy toward the DPRK, utterly indifferent to the settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
    The south Korean ultra-right forces including the Grand National Party are zealously joining the U.S. in its "human rights" offensive. This offensive is nothing but the last resort of those doomed.
    Only those imbeciles who know nothing about the nature of the DPRK's social and political system and its people are obsessed by their daydream to "bring down its system". Such stupid guys who bark at the moon cannot know about the DPRK till their death.
    The U.S. and its lackeys would be well advised to stop the anti-DPRK "human rights" offensive at once.

Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Unit

     Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected KPA Unit 667 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led Seventh Regiment. After receiving a salute, he mounted a forward command post. Feasting his eyes on the defence theatres, he learned in detail about the terrain conditions and received a report on the situation from its commander.
    He set forth tasks to be fulfilled to increase the unit's combat capability in every way, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that it is reliably defending the outpost of the country.
    He underscored the need for the servicepersons to maintain a high degree of combat alertness in order to safeguard people-centered socialism of Korean style as firm as an iron wall.
    He learned about how the unit's training programme has been implemented. Watching a-match-for-a hundred soldiers engrossed in training, he appreciated their strong enthusiasm for training.
    He said that the primary revolutionary duty of the soldiers is to undergo successful training, highly praising the unit for concentrating all efforts on training so that its commanding officers and men may acquire war methods and combat capability applicable to an actual war.
    Going round an educational room, a bedroom, a mess hall, a kitchen, a food processing room and entertainment and cultural facilities, he acquainted himself with every aspect of the soldiers' life including their beds, conditions for their diet, cultural life and cultivation of their emotions and feelings, the operation of a billboard for the honored and a wallpaper. He met commanding officers to learn about the problems arising in the soldiers' living and show profound loving care for them.
    He walked the compound of the barracks. Seeing cosy barracks and buildings standing among various species of fruit trees and their surroundings kept neat and tidy, he highly appreciated the feats made by the commanding officers and soldiers, satisfied with the fact that they have spruced up their post with ardent patriotism.
    He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the unit.

Minju Joson califica de irresponsable aprobacion de resolucion anti-RPDC

    @Pyongyang, 9 de diciembre (ATCC) -- En el tercer comite del 60o periodo de sesiones de la Asamblea General de la ONU, que tuvo lugar hace pocos dias, algunas fuerzas de la Union Europea presentaron y aprobaron forzadamente una "resolucion de DDHH" contra la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea. Al respecto el rotativo Minju Joson publico en su edicion del dia 9 un comentario individual que va como sigue:
    En los ultimos anos, EE.UU. pregona el supuesto "problema de derechos humanos" de la RPDC a fin de manchar la imagen de esta y derrocar el mas ventajoso sistema socialista al estilo coreano centrado en las masas populares.
    Si es verdad que esos elementos de la UE tienen tanto interes en la solucion de ese problema, deberan cuestionar primero a EE.UU., peor violador de DDHH en este mundo.
    A citar un ejemplo, operan en algunos paises europeos las prisiones secretas de EE.UU. y las aeronaves de la CIA con reos a bordo aterrizaron a menudo en los aeropuertos de estos paises.
    Este hecho deviene una infame e injustificable violacion de DDHH y al mismo tiempo, un grave atentado a la soberania de los paises miembros de la UE. Pues resulta evidente que la misma UE es victima del despotismo, arbitrariedades, violacion de DDHH y atentado a la soberania estatal que comete EE.UU.
    Sin embargo, al dejar en el segundo plano tales crimenes de EE.UU., algunas fuerzas de la UE cuestionan solo los DDHH de los paises que no les agradan. Esta accion ambigua levanta grandes sospechas de la verdadera posicion de ellas sobre este tema.
    En correspondencia a sus atributos, la UE debe mantener los metodos politicos independientes de pensar y solucionar los problemas segun su propio criterio al separarse de la politica servil a EE.UU.
