Italian Committee for Study of Songun Idea Formed

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- The Italian Committee for the Study of the Songun Idea for Independence and Sovereignty was inaugurated in Rome on Dec. 6 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. Displayed at the venue of the inaugural ceremony were photos showing the undying Songun revolutionary leadership exploits performed by Kim Jong Il. At the inaugural ceremony the above-said committee was declared to be formed and Miriam Pelegrini Feri, president of the Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy, was elected chairperson of the committee.
    The chairperson said that the committee will conduct brisk activities to study and disseminate the philosophical principle of the Juche idea and the Songun idea and make positive contributions to defending and glorifying the DPRK founded by President Kim Il Sung and led by Kim Jong Il.

Sudanese President Supports Korea's Reunification

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- The Sudanese government and people are keeping the unforgettable feelings of friendship with the DPRK and there is no change in the feelings and our stand supporting the struggle of the Korean people. Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir said this on November 19 when receiving credentials from DPRK Ambassador to the country O Ul Rok.
    The historic and traditional relations between the two countries have been strengthened and developed in the joint struggle against imperialism, the president said, adding that President Kim Il Sung gave a large amount of precious assistance and cooperation to the Sudanese people in their struggle to build a new society.
    He highly praised the DPRK for having firmly defended the independent stand and principle under the wise guidance of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il despite the sanctions and pressure of the imperialist allied forces.
    The Sudanese people will in the future, too, stand firm on the side of the Korean people and positively support the reunification of Korea, he stressed.

Human Scum's Vandalism under Fire

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Ro Jin, chairman of the Seoul District Federation of University Student Councils under the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils, reportedly issued a statement on Dec. 8 to denounce the human scum including the Grand National Party for destroying the graveyard of unconverted long-term prisoners. Recalling that on Dec. 5 the hooligans of the wicked conservative organisations including the "Fellowship Society for Special Operatives Dispatched to the North" ruthlessly destroyed the gravestones of unconverted long-term prisoners at the Pogwang Temple in Phaju City, Kyonggi Province and committed thrice-cursed crimes such as pouring paint over wrecks of tombstones and boxes of remains, the statement said this makes even mountains and streams shudder with indignation.
    The statement went on:
    The Grand National Party and Chosun Ilbo which encouraged gangsters to such vandalism while criticizing the graveyard of unconverted long-term prisoners with slanders and fabrications proved through the current case that they are human scum knowing no manners of human being and a group of beasts.
    We will certainly call human scum to task.
    We will revenge on the GNP and Chosun Ilbo a thousand fold for manipulating and agitating the case behind the scene.

Probe into Truth behind Murder of Farmer Demanded in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- The Committee for Practicing Freedom of the Writers' Association of National Literature of south Korea reportedly held a press conference at the hospital attached to Seoul National University on Dec. 7 at which it strongly demanded the "government" authorities make a thoroughgoing probe into the truth about the murder of farmer Jon Yong Chol. At the press conference speakers expressed resentment at the action of the political camp keeping mum about the murder case, far from apologizing for it. They accused the authorities of opening the rice market and enacting the evil law on part-timers which drive the majority to death just to meet the interests of the minority.
    The death of farmer Jon is not a simple case of a farmer but a case threatening the death of all the workers and farmers, they said, demanding the authorities properly probe the cause of the murder case and punish those responsible for it without fail.
    A statement was read out at the press conference.

Struggle against Expansion of U.S. Military Base Called for

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- A press conference was reportedly held in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Dec. 9 to make a great success in the December 11 grand peace march for checking the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek and achieving peace on the Korean Peninsula. It was sponsored by the All-People Measure Committee for Checking the Expansion of the U.S. Military Base in Phyongthaek. At the press conference speakers said that the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek is aimed at realizing the "strategic flexibility" of the U.S. forces in south Korea and laying the foundation for increasing their role. This will bring the south Korean people nothing but the danger of war and only result in the U.S. forces' permanent occupation of south Korea and all sorts of crimes and the destruction of living environment. They vowed to check the expansion of the U.S. military base at the cost of their lives.
    An appeal to all organizations of south Korea and the world's peace-loving people was published at the press conference.
    At this moment the precious fertile soil on this land is in danger of being destroyed owing to the U.S. moves to expand the base for aggression and war in a bid to hold supremacy, not only the inhabitants in Phyongthaek but all the people who have undergone sufferings due to the U.S. forces' occupation of south Korea for over half a century should rise up in the struggle against the expansion of the U.S. military base, the appeal said. The appeal called for achieving success in the December 11 grand peace march for checking the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek and realizing peace on the Korean Peninsula for the present.

Japan's Moves for Overseas Expansion Slammed

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Japan is busy with its moves for the retrogressive revision of its present constitution as evidenced by its increased efforts to promote the status of the Defence Agency into that of a ministry and reorganize the Self-Defence Forces (SDF) into regular armed forces, while asserting the importance of the military tie-up with the United States. In this regard Rodong Sinmun today observes in a signed commentary: This indicates that the Japanese reactionaries' moves to round off the legal and institutional mechanism for turning Japan into a military power and realizing its ambition for overseas expansion have reached a full scale phase. The news analyst further goes on:
    The "pacifist constitution" stipulates as a state policy that post-war Japan, a defeated nation, shall never go to a war again nor take part in any military action of such form. Japan should not revise this constitution if it does not want to be called a war state or aggressive state again. The retrogressive revision of the constitution, which is being accelerated at a final stage in Japan, is an expression of reckless militarist insanity of the Japanese reactionaries preoccupied by the ambition for overseas expansion.
    Such moves are being stepped up at the zealous instigation of the United States.
    The Japanese reactionaries' undisguised moves for the retrogressive revision of the constitution are a danger signal heralding the emergence of a new war state in Asia and the Japanese militarists' start of overseas expansion. The reckless constitutional revision and overseas expansion are leading Japan to destruction. The reactionaries of Japan would be well advised to behave themselves, mindful of this.

Classical Poems and Songs Associated with Home Towns of Great Persons Found out

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Researchers of the Academy of Social Science of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have found out and arranged classical poems and songs associated with the home towns of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk, three generals of Mt. Paektu. They found out the poems and songs while studying the old names of the native places and data on their beautiful scenery.
    The poems and songs dated from the period of Koryo Dynasty to the close of Ri Dynasty are rich in content and of high artistic value. They include various genres ranging from long poem to sonnet, collection of poems, short lyric poem and folk song, which were created by hundreds of writers including Hong Ryang Ho, Ri Si Hang, Kim Si Sup, Nam I and Kim Jong So famous in their ages.
    There are thousands of poems and songs related to Mangyongdae and Pyongyang and hundreds to Mt. Paektu and Hoeryong. Typical of them are a poem "Mangyongdae", a long poem "Mt. Paektu", words of songs "Eight Beautiful Views in Hoeryong" and "Song of Osan". They extol the natural scenery of the Mangyongdae area as the most beautiful one in the East, Mt. Paektu as ancestral mountain associated with the soul of the nation and the Hoeryong area, north gateway to Korea, associated with stories about bravery displayed by people in battles against foreign invaders as symbol of national defence. The poetical compositions are run through with ardent love for the country and great national pride. The works describe Mangyongdae, Mt. Paektu and Hoeryong as mysterious places permeated with the spirit of the nation and laud their superb landscapes.
    All this shows that the native places of the three generals of Mt. Paektu have been dear to the Korean people from olden times.
    The newly discovered poems and songs are works of national treasure in adding luster to the unique national characteristics of Juche-oriented literature and gaining a better understanding of fine cultural heritage of the nation.

New Artificial Bezoar Manufacturing Process Developed

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Scientists of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have succeeded in developing new methods of manufacturing artificial bezoar and cultivating chlorella. The "Sogyong artificial bezoar manufacturing method" and "cultivation method of chlorella by new organic substances" were awarded the patent of the DPRK.
    By the new method, artificial bezoar is made with by-products of live-stock farms. Its production cost is low.
    The artificial bezoar made by the new method is similar with the natural one in its ingredients. It is widely used as raw materials for Koryo medicines for its high medicinal virtues.
    The method of cultivating chlorella by new organic substances does not need acetic acid in the production of chlorella, while the old method consumes 30 tons of acetic acid per one ton of chlorella.
    Now pharmaceutical and foodstuff factories of the country are producing various kinds of health food and condiment with chlorella produced by the new method.

Korean Students Place First at Recitation Contest in China

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- Korean students Han Jin A and Han Un Ha won the first prizes at a recitation contest of students studying in China which was held in Beijing a few days ago. At least 80 foreign students of 28 countries and regions selected at different universities of China participated in the semifinals and over 20 excellent students of at least 10 countries and regions including the DPRK, Thailand, Japan, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, France and the U.S. in the finals. Han Jin A and Han Un Ha studying at Dongbei and Liaoning Universities of China recited the prose they prepared and successfully did impromptu recitation of what is given by the jury, combining it with artistic depiction.
    They placed first with highest marks of the contest and were awarded gold cups, first prizes and honorable certificates.
    Members of the jury said: It is great that two Korean students placed first. First places have never been given to students of one country. It is the trait of only Koreans to have high national pride and advance, not giving up anything.

Seminar Held to Mark Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work

     Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- A seminar was held to mark the 20th anniversary of the publication of the famous work of leader Kim Jong Il "On Stepping Up the Work of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea" at the Grand People's Study House Monday. The immortal work made public by Kim Jong Il on Dec. 14, Juche 74 (1985) is an important work as it helps the union invariably remain true to the idea and leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea.
    The work comprehensively clarifies tasks and ways for the union to unite the agricultural workers close behind the Party and the leader and expounds the idea of dynamically pushing forward the three revolutions, ideological, technical and cultural, in the rural areas.
    Kang Chang Uk, chairman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, and other speakers noted that the idea set out in the work which calls on the union to successfully perform its duty as organization for ideological education provides a sure guarantee for preparing the agricultural workers as the vanguard fighters defending the leader at the cost of their lives and explained the reason why the idea plays such a role. They referred to the fact that Kim Jong Il has led the union to remain true to the leadership of the Party, guided by its Songun idea. They recalled that over the last two decades the union has strengthened its organizations and increased its militant function and role, thereby achieving successes in the work to unite all its members close around the Party and powerfully encouraging them in the socialist rural construction and the drive to boost the agricultural production.
    They stressed the need for all the officials of the union and other agricultural workers to deeply study and grasp the work, strengthen its organizations as militant Songun revolutionary organizations and thus make a tangible contribution to the building of a great prosperous powerful nation of Juche with successes in the agricultural production.
    Present at the seminar were officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea in Pyongyang and local areas and agricultural workers.

Vocero de CRPP denuncia a "partido Hannara" y otros fascistas

    @Pyongyang, 12 de diciembre (ATCC) -- El vocero del Comite por la Reunificacion Pacifica de la Patria (CRPP), en su declaracion fechada 10, se refirio al hecho de que el pasado dia 7, el "comite de averiguacion de los verdaderos aspectos de la historia del pasado" de la "Agencia de inteligencia" del Sur de Corea concedio una conferencia de prensa en la cual publico un resultado de pesquisa de que los casos de intriga anti-Republica Popular Democratica de Corea: "el asunto del Partido Revolucionario Popular (PRP)" y el "asunto de la Confederacion Nacional de los Jovenes Estudiantes Democraticos (CNJED)" surgidos en el periodo del "poder" de Pak Jung Hui son "incidentes procomunistas inventados por las torturas del poder de renovacion". Segun el documento, el "asunto del PRP" de 1964 y el "asunto de la CNJED" de 1974 "fueron muy exagerados en el sentido verdadero por el presidente y la Agencia Central de Inteligencia" y, al "ajustarse en ello" una "reunion de circulo" se convirtio en "la entidad anti-estatal" y el "comite de reorganizacion del PRP" no existio ni tuvo ninguna relacion con el Norte.
    En fin de cuentas, la publicacion del presente resultado de investigacion puso al desnudo que tales asuntos fueron intrigas anti-RPDC urdidas por el "poder de renovacion" del pasado.
    Para mantener el servilismo a las grandes potencias y el "poder" fascista, el "poder de renovacion" fabrico tales intrigas anti-RPDC, reprimio y asesino despiadadamente a los patrioticos jovenes, estudiantes, habitantes y personalidades democratas. Tales crimenes son imperdonables actos antinacionales y de violacion de DDHH.
    Son tambien crimenes antinacionales, anti-reunificacion y anti-eticos cometidos por los antecesores del "partido Hannara".
    Al tolerar la resucitacion de la banda fascista como el "partido Hannara" en el Sur de Corea se retornara la epoca oscura fascista medieval y sera posible reeditarse el segundo "asunto del PRP" y "el asunto de la CNJED", debido a lo cual innumerables personas derramaran otra vez la sangre y las relaciones Norte-Sur se romperan de una vez.
    Los que echaron agua fria a la voluntad del pueblo y acarrearon intolerable tragedia sangrienta a los connacionales para el entreguismo y vil ambicion de toma del poder deben ponerse en el banquillo de los acusados de la historia, independientemente del periodo de valides.
    Los compinches del "partido Hannara" que son descendientes directos del dictador de "renovacion" deben pedir excusa por el "asunto del PRP" y el "asunto de la CNJED" cuyo verdadero aspecto fue revelado, segun la demanda de los habitantes surcoreanos y tener presente que sin esto no podran vivir con la frente erguida.

Rodong Sinmun denuncia expansion a ultramar de Japon

    @Pyongyang, 12 de diciembre (ATCC) -- En estos dias, Japon, al hacer hincapie en la importancia del fortalecimiento de la alianza militar con EE.UU., da acicate a la draconizacion de la constitucion vigente a fin de ascender la Agencia de Defensa al rango ministerial y convertir en ejercito regular a sus "fuerzas de autodefensa". Esto insinua que las maniobras de preparacion del ambiente legal de los reaccionarios japoneses para la conversion en potencia militar y la realizacion de su ambicion de expansion a ultramar entraron en una etapa decisiva.
    Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 12 y continua:
    La "constitucion de paz" llego a poseer en postguerra Japon derrotado como politica estatal para no volver a tomar el camino de la guerra ni participar en las acciones militares de cualquier indole. Para no volver a sufrir tal ignominia como estado belico y agresivo, Japon no debe draconizar la "constitucion de paz".
    La enmienda en peor de la "constitucion de paz" que se promueve en la ultima etapa demuestra a que temeridad ha llegado la locura militarista de los reaccionarios japoneses para la realizacion de la ambicion de expansion a ultramar.
    Tal maniobra de preparacion de una palanca legal para la conversion en potencia militar y realizacion de la ambicion de expansion a ultramar se lleva a cabo bajo la instigacion activa de EE.UU.
    La draconizacion de la constitucion vigente que impulsan en la etapa final los reaccionarios japoneses deviene una senal de peligro que pronostica un preludio de la aparicion de un nuevo estado beligerante en el Asia y de la agresion a ultramar de los militaristas japoneses. Tal complot imprudente de estos llevara a la ruina a su pais. Los reaccionarios japoneses deben tenerlo presente y actuar con prudencia.
