U.S. Hostile Policy towards North under Fire in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- The Seoul District Federation of University Student Councils under the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils reportedly issued a statement titled "We denounce the U.S. for stepping up its hostile policy towards the north after scrapping the joint statement of the six-party talks in a bid to start another Korean war." on Dec. 15.
The statement said; In the wake of the reckless remarks made by the U.S. ambassador in Seoul high-ranking officials of the U.S. administration vied with each other to raise a hue and cry over "the human rights issue in the north" and call for "additional sanctions." As if it were not enough with this, the U.S. disclosed its attempt at a war of aggression in order to "bring down the system" and realize "a regime change."
An endless string of such reckless remarks reveals the real intention of the U.S. to invariably pursue its hostile policy towards the north and war moves in breach of the joint statement adopted at the 4th round of the six-party talks.
The present situation requires the nation not to tolerate any longer the U.S. moves to create dissension between fellow countrymen and provoke a war under the pretexts of the "nuclear issue in the north" and "the human rights issue in the north." With no desperate efforts can the U.S. break the great unity of the Korean nation under the banner of "By our nation itself," declared the statement.

U.S. Ambassador's Malarkey under Fire in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- South Korean political circles recently accused the U.S. ambassador of making reckless remarks, according to the south Korean KBS and MBC.
Kim Won Gi, speaker of the "National Assembly" of south Korea, said over a radio on Dec. 15 that it went beyond the tolerance limit that the U.S. ambassador made rough remarks terming the north a "criminal government" and that his remarks unfavorable for ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula were undesirable.
Kim Won Ung, assemblyman from the Uri Party who is member of the Unification and Foreign Relations Committee of the "National Assembly", on Dec. 13 said that the reckless remarks of the U.S. ambassador were prompted by the "intention to disturb peace in the Korean Peninsula". He emphasized that if the U.S. ambassador continues to show such attitude, the "National Assembly" should push ahead with a resolution demanding his recall.
He called a press conference on Dec. 14 at the "National Assembly" and asserted again that the NA should push forward a resolution on demand for the recall of the U.S. ambassador who made wrong utterances as a diplomat.
Probe into Truth behind Murder of Peasant Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- South Korean Christian, Buddhist, Round Buddhist and Catholic believers reportedly held a rally at the Park of Citizens of Kwanghwamun in Seoul on Dec. 15 in demand of a probe into the truth behind the murder of peasant Jon Yong Chol and a guarantee for the vital rights of the peasants.
A declaration signed by over 450 religionists of four orders was read out at the rally. It said that probe into the truth behind the murder of peasant Jon Yong Chol should not be delayed any longer, stressing that they demand the reflection of the government and relevant bodies and the clarification of their positive will to solve the problem.
Conference of Educators in North and South Held
Kaesong, December 20 (KCNA) -- A conference of educators in the north and the south of Korea was held in Kaesong on Dec. 19 to implement the June 15 joint declaration.
Present at conference were representatives of educators from the north and the south.
The conference reviewed the successes gained in national education for the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration in this significant year and discussed the ways for educators in the north and the south to conduct a positive solidarity movement for national reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself."
Ridiculous Move of S. Korean Pro-U.S. Elements under Fire
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Pro-U.S. ultra-right conservatives of south Korea are now contemplating the erection of a statue of Walker in Taegu allegedly in recognition of his "exploits". He was a cruel murderer and special war criminal because he perpetrated monstrous massacres and destruction unprecedented in the world history of wars by ordering to kill all, be they children and the old, as a brasshat of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces during the Korean War.
Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:
The Grand National Party of south Korea and other pro-U.S. conservatives are contemplating even the erection of a statue of a foreign aggressor who massacred Koreans in cold blood, a servile attempt to please their American master. This move is the biggest treachery ever known.
Praising a war criminal means defending his war crimes.
The action taken by the pro-U.S. conservatives to erect his statue is nothing but a move to call back the departed soul of the brasshat of the U.S. aggression troops in a bid to encourage them in their moves to ignite the second Korean war of aggression and turn this land again into a shambles of war launched by Yankees.
The frantic campaign kicked off by the GNP clan for confrontation between the north and the south over what they call "human rights issue," keeping pace with the U.S. anti-DPRK campaign, clearly suggests what these wicked traitors are after.
No traitorous moves desperately escalated by the pro-U.S. conservative forces including the GNP backed by foreign forces can ever stem the violent trend of the June 15 era of reunification towards national reconciliation, unity and reunification, the commentary concludes.
DPRK System Will Be More Consolidated
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- The U.S. some time ago let the EU present a "resolution on human rights in north Korea" to the United Nations and adopt it and recently brought together riff-raffs to hold an "international conference on human rights issue" of a certain country, which are a very dangerous political plot to stifle the DPRK and a deliberate and hideous challenge to baffle the six-party talks, says Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed commentary.
It goes on:
Although the U.S. plays a "judge of human rights", styling itself a "defender of human rights" and taking issue with the "issue of human rights" in anti-American independent countries including the DPRK, it is a real abuser of human rights.
The essence and ultimate goal of the U.S. strategy of "human rights" towards the DPRK is to fabricate false "human rights issue" and arouse public opinion and politicize it over the world so as to isolate, blockade and undermine the DPRK and demolish Korean-style socialism. But it is a daydream coming from ignorance of the DPRK.
The more frantically the U.S. resorts to the shameless "human rights" racket, the more the system of the DPRK will be consolidated along the unique line of Songun.
The U.S. should ponder over the consequences of its reckless "human rights" offensive.
S. Korean Youths and Students Denounce U.S. Forces' Mean Action
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Members of the youth and students organizations in south Korea reportedly held a press conference near the premises of the U.S. embassy in Kwanghwamun of Seoul on Dec. 16 to strongly denounce the U.S. forces in south Korea for having prevented two members of the Anti-U.S. Youth League from entering Kaesong to attend the third meeting of representatives of the youth and students organizations in the north and the south for the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration.
The chief of the league and other speakers at the press conference recalled that the members of the league were allowed by the Ministry of Unification to attend the function of youth and students organizations of the south and the north but the "UN Forces Command" prevented them from entering Kaesong, taking issue with the name of the organization. This clearly proves that the command is no more than a mechanism serving the U.S.
A statement of the league read out at the press conference strongly demanded the immediate disbandment of the command, terming the above-said action a move against the Koreans' movement for reunification to block the advance of the youth and students in the south and the north toward peace and reunification.
The league together with the youth and students headquarters under the joint national committee for implementing the June 15 joint declaration will directly convey a letter of protest to the U.S. 8th Army Command and conduct counter-actions, the statement declared.
Significant Year in History of Korea-China Friendship
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- This is a significant year in the traditional Korea-China friendship.
The greatest event in the relations between the two countries this year is the official goodwill visit of Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China, to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the invitation of Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.
During the visit the two leaders held talks and an agreement on economic and technical cooperation was concluded.
They deepened unbreakable amity between the Korean and Chinese peoples, making a round of the Taean Friendship Glass Factory, symbol of the Korea-China friendship, which was built with the selfless assistance of the Chinese Party and government.
The Korean people accorded warm hospitality to the Chinese President as the most distinguished guest everywhere he went and showed their firm will to consolidate and develop the traditional friendship between the two countries generation after generation through the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang".
The Parties and governments of the two countries cemented the relations through brisk mutual visits of the high-ranking delegations.
Premier of the DPRK Cabinet Pak Pong Ju visited China in March and First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Sok Ju in April. And on the part of China, a delegation of the International Liaison Department of the C.C., Communist Party of China led by its head Wang Jiarui (in February), State Councillor of the PRC Tang Jiaxuan who was a special envoy of Hu Jintao (in July) and a government delegation led by Wu Yi, politburo member of the C.C., Communist Party of China and vice-premier of the State Council (in October) visited the DPRK.
Collaboration and assistance were made in varied fields, too.
The Chinese Party and government have rendered support to the unswerving will of the Korean Party and government to settle the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula in a peaceful way at the six-way talks and other international meetings and made every possible effort for it, thus expressing solidarity with and inspiring efforts of the Korean people who regard independence and dignity as their life.

Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- The 8th Pyongyang symposium on medical science of Koreans at home and abroad will be held in Pyongyang in May Juche 95(2006).
Now preparations for it are being made in full swing.
Since the first symposium was held in 1999, it has been expanded in scale and converted into a significant gathering for developing Juche-oriented medical science and technology with the concerted efforts of the Korean nation.
The Central Committee of the Korean Medical Association is doing every possible effort to make the 8th symposium to be one for exchanging successes and experience registered in developing medical science of the Korean nation.

Halt to U.S. Infringement on Sovereignty of Other Countries Called for
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- It is imperative to decisively check the U.S. violation of sovereignty of other countries if human rights abuses are to cease worldwide and their cause is to be uprooted, says Minju Joson Tuesday in a signed commentary.
Referring to a series of hideous human rights abuses by the U.S. in Iraq, the commentary says that one of its important reasons is that the U.S. deprived the Iraqis of state sovereignty.
The news analyst goes on:
The reality in Iraq proves that state sovereignty is essential for human rights. This is the very reason why the Koreans have resolutely stood against the U.S. pressure in order to defend the socialist country even under such hard and difficult conditions.
It is self-evident that unless the U.S. violation of sovereignty of other countries is thoroughly checked, such human rights abuses as those practiced in Iraq will take place and the world will turn to a barren land of human rights.
The U.S. should not be allowed to infringe upon sovereignty of other countries in order to ensure world peace and stability and grant people genuine independent rights.
The U.S. had better stop all its criminal moves to realize its ambition for world supremacy including its anachronistic human rights strategy.
DPRK Sends Back Russian-Flagged Ship "Ternei"
Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Russian-flagged ship "Ternei" entered the territorial waters of the DPRK on Dec. 5, 2005 with neither prior notice to it nor approval by it, according to a report from a relevant institution. The ship neither responded to the DPRK's interception nor accepted its just demand for mooring at the nearest port for an investigation. Even during the investigation the ship did not properly present documents related to its navigation but destroyed all the materials that could be evidence, increasing the suspicion.
The Russian ship is entirely to blame for the delayed investigation because it has not complied with our demand in time.
The ship finally responded to our demand and its captain admitted the fact that his ship entered the banned waters of the DPRK side and did not respond to its interception in time. He expressed regret at this and assured the DPRK side that such a thing would not occur again. The DPRK side, therefore, decided to send the ship back on Dec. 19 with the DPRK-Russia relations into due consideration.
