Protocol Signed between DPRK and China

     Beijing, December 23 (KCNA) -- A protocol of the 41st meeting of the inter-governmental committee for cooperation in science and technology between the DPRK and China was signed here today. Present at the signing ceremony from the DPRK side were members of the delegation of the Korean State Academy of Sciences and from the Chinese side officials concerned of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.

Important Anniversaries of DPRK Marked by Koreans in Germany

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The Society for Cooperation among Koreans in Germany held a meeting on Dec. 18 to celebrate the 14th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and the 88th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. Present there were Chairman Ri Ji Suk and members of the society and the ambassador and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Berlin. Speakers at the meeting said that holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem as KPA supreme commander was an expression of the unanimous will of all the Korean people to accomplish the revolutionary cause of President Kim Il Sung generation after generation and their greatest honor. They praised Kim Jong Suk as a brilliant model in devotedly defending the leader and a woman general of Mt. Paektu who brought up Kim Jong Il as an iron-willed commander possessed of matchless pluck and grit.
    They renewed their firm will to work hard for the country's reunification, the behest of the President and the earnest desire of Kim Jong Suk.

Dismantlement of "UN Forces Command" Demanded

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Anti-U.S. Youth League reportedly demanded the immediate dismantlement of the "UN Forces Command" which exists in name only in an open questionnaire sent to the command on Dec. 19. The questionnaire recalled the fact that the command barred members of the Anti-U.S. Youth League from entering Kaesong to participate in the 3rd meeting of representatives of the south and north youth and student organizations for implementing the June 15 joint declaration some days ago and demanded it clarify the proper reason why it did so.
    The questionnaire queried on what legal ground the command prevented members of the league from entering Kaesong to participate in a function on which an agreement had been reached between the south and the north. This was an act of doing harm to the south-north exchange, it added.

Foreign Diplomats Visit Art Exhibition

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Diplomatic envoys of various countries and representatives of international organizations here visited the art exhibition of the Mansudae Art Studio marking the 88th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk on Dec. 24 on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of office as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army and the above-said anniversary. The guests looked round with keen interest art works showing the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and their noble personalities as great persons and the brilliant revolutionary life of Kim Jong Suk.
    Cuban Ambassador to the DPRK Ruben Perez Valdes wrote in the visitor's book that he paid highest tribute to anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk, woman general of Mt. Paektu, and wished Kim Jong Il good health.
    That day, the guests watched a combined acrobatic performance given at the Pyongyang Circus Theatre.

Visiting Equatorial Guinean Party Delegation Feted

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea arranged a reception in honor of the delegation of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea on a visit to the DPRK at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Dec. 24. Present there on invitation were members of the delegation of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea headed by General Secretary Filiberto Ntutumu Nguema.
    Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, in his speech said that the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea has registered many successes in the efforts to preserve peace and stability and achieve rapid economic development and improve the standard of people's living holding high the slogan of democracy, development and wellbeing under the leadership of President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
    He expressed firm belief that the friendly and cooperative relations established between the parties and peoples of the two countries in the efforts to accomplish the cause of independence against imperialism would grow stronger in line with the idea of independence, peace and friendship. Filiberto Ntutumu Nguema in a speech noted that his party would make every effort to boost the long-standing friendly relations with the WPK. He said that the Democratic Party and people of Equatorial Guinea have positively supported the just cause of the Korean people for the country's reunification and would always stand by the Korean people in the struggle.
    He extended sincere congratulations to the WPK and the Korean people on the great successes they have achieved in socialist construction under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Malarkey of S. Korean Defence Minister Assailed

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Some days ago, the south Korean defence minister expressed "thanks," talking nonsense that the U.S. troops in south Korea are a "symbol of the south Korea-U.S. alliance" and the presence of the U.S. Second Division in south Korea is "great fortune" for south Korea in the wake of his reckless remarks that the "military threat from the north remains unchanged." A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland in his answer given to the question put by KCNA on Dec. 24 in this regard vehemently denounced the reckless remarks made by the south Korean military chief.
    He termed these outbursts treacherous acts intended to deter the north-south relation from developing favorably under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and stem the trend of the times towards national reconciliation, unity and reunification and an unpardonable provocation against the north. The military threat on the Korean Peninsula is not coming from the north but from south Korea where the U.S. troops are stationed, the spokesman said, and went on:
    Prevailing on the Korean Peninsula are constant tension and a touch-and-go situation in which a war may break out any moment owing to the reckless war moves of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities, its servants, and this is laying a serious obstacle to the development of the inter-Korean relations. Master-servant military relations between the U.S. and south Korea are the source of a war and the root cause of blocking the process to warm up the inter-Korean relations and the peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue.
    As long as the U.S. troops are present in south Korea it is impossible to ease the military tension and achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula and there will no military guarantee for the improvement of the inter-Korean relations.
    Moreover, the disgusting remark made by the south Korean military chief that the presence of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces in south Korea is "fortune" despite the fact that they have brought all sorts of misfortune and pain to the Koreans is an intolerable insult and mockery of the Korean nation. The south Korean authorities should clearly know that the malarkey let loose by the military chief is nothing helpful to the implementation of the agreement for relaxing the military tension and ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula adopted at the north-south ministerial talks, to say nothing of the inter-Korean relations.
    They should apologize for his reckless remarks and give the north assurances that such a disturbing thing would not occur again.

DPRK Vice-Premier Meets His Chinese Counterpart

     Beijing, December 24 (KCNA) -- Vice-Premier Ro Tu Chol who is leading the DPRK government delegation on a visit to China met and had a friendly talk with his Chinese counterpart Zeng Peiyan, who is Politburo member of the C.C., Communist Party of China, at the Great Hall of the People here today. Zeng said that leader Kim Jong Il's China visit last year and President Hu Jintao's DPRK visit this year marked important occasions in developing the bilateral relations of friendship on a new higher stage.
    It is the steadfast stand of the Chinese party and government to consolidate and develop the Sino-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations, he stated, adding that the steady and solid political relationship between the two sides provides a basis for smoothly developing the cooperation in economy and trade between the two countries.
    Ro also met and had a friendly talk with Tang Jiaxuan, state councilor of the People's Republic of China, in Beijing today.
    Tang noted that this year has witnessed steady development of the relations of good neighborliness and friendship between the PRC and the DPRK. He expressed the belief that the bilateral relations would surely bring about a bright future under the wise leadership of Hu Jintao and Kim Jong Il. Tang hosted a reception at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing in honor of the visiting DPRK government delegation in the evening.

S. Korean Diplomatic Boss's Mud-Slinging at Compatriots under Fire

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- The minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of south Korea at a press conference on Dec. 21 cried out for "the north's halt to illegal acts" and "stop to nuclear activities and abandonment of its nuclear weapons program" while pulling it up over "drug smuggling" and "issue of counterfeit notes." A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland in a statement Sunday branded his remarks as an unpardonable pro-U.S. malarkey intended to incite confrontation with the north and an intolerable provocation to it.
    Now that the U.S. is escalating its offensive to stifle the DPRK while malignantly slandering it in contravention of the joint statement adopted at the six-party talks it is quite natural for the DPRK to bolster up its capability for self-defence including nuclear deterrent to protect its dignity and sovereignty, the spokesman noted, and continued: The south Korean diplomatic chief is keeping mum about the U.S. but hurling mud at his fellow countrymen, the victims. This is treachery perpetrated by him bereft of national conscience and dignity.
    The south Korean authorities should stand by the nation and reject the U.S. hostile policy toward the north if they truly want peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the improved relations between the north and the south, he added.

Talks between Delegations of WPK and Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea Held

     Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Talks between the delegation of the Workers' Party of Korea and the delegation of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea were held here today. Present there from the DPRK side were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, and officials concerned and from the Equatorial Guinean side members of the delegation of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea headed by its General Secretary Filiberto Ntutumu Nguema. Both sides informed each other of their party activities and exchanged views on developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and issues of mutual concern.

61st Volume of "Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works" Published

     Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The Publishing House of the Workers' Party of Korea brought out the 61st volume of the "Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works," a library of the great Juche idea which systematically and comprehensively deals with the famous works of President Kim Il Sung in a chronological order. The collection contains 26 works including Kim Il Sung's historic speeches, conclusions and talks from January Juche 66 (1977) to March of the same year. Kim Il Sung in a series of works including "On Further Strengthening the People's Power and Giving Proper Guidance to Socialist Law-Abidance" clarified the principled matters arising in further strengthening the people's power and enhancing its function and role. Works "On Some Tasks for the League of Socialist Working Youth" and "Talk with Officials of the Central Committee of the League of Socialist Working Youth" indicated the tasks and ways for the organizations of the youth league to train the younger generation to be the reliable successors to the revolutionary cause and competent socialist builders.
    Some works including "Talk to the Chairman of the Dietmen's League for the Promotion of Japan-Korea Friendship" clarified the consistent stand of the Workers' Party of Korea to achieve the country's reunification and laid down reasonable and just proposals for reunification including the three principles of the country's reunification - independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity- set forth by the WPK.
    Set out in the book are his outstanding ideas, theories and policies giving perfect answers to the theoretical and practical issues arising in the revolution and construction including the matters of increasing the commanding ability and leadership art of the officials and further developing fisheries in the West Sea.

Action Taken by "UN Forces Command" against Youth and Student Representatives under Fire

     Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The Headquarters of Youth Students of the South Side Committee to Implement the June 15 Joint Declaration reportedly held a press conference in front of the U.S. military base in Ryongsan, Seoul, on Dec. 19 in protest against the action taken by the "UN Forces Command" to bar members of the Anti-U.S. Youth League from entering Kaesong to participate in the meeting of representatives of the north-south youth and student organizations. Jon Sang Bong, chairman of the south Korean Council of Youth Organizations, and Jong Thae Hung, chairman of the Anti-U.S. Youth League, in their speeches at the conference said that the "UN Forces Command" blocked the entry of members of the Anti-U.S. Youth League into Kaesong in the wake of the recent reckless remarks made by the U.S. ambassador in Seoul against the north. They charged that this is an expression of the U.S. intention to pressurize the north and further tighten its military domination over south Korea by abusing the name of the "UN Forces Command." They termed the action a move to check the reconciliation and cooperation between the south and the north and, furthermore, invent a strong justification to keep the "UN Forces Command" though it exists in name only.

GNP of S. Korea Chiefly to Blame for Illegal Wiretapping

     Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The recently disclosed truth behind the "illegal wiretapping by the Security Planning Board" in the period of Kim Yong Sam's "government" in south Korea clearly proves once again that the Grand National Party is chiefly to blame for the illegal wiretapping. A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland said this in a statement issued on Dec. 23.
    The statement continued:
    Prior to this happening, the "case of the People's Revolutionary Party" and the "case of the National Federation of Democratic Youths and Students" were confirmed to be the anti-north conspiratorial cases faked up by the notorious "Yusin regime."
    All these facts go to prove that the predecessors of the GNP were a group of criminals as they committed all sorts of horrible human rights abuses including conspiratorial plots, torture and murder and illegal wiretapping and the GNP is a group of despicable bastards, descendants of the above-said wicked elements.
    The crimes committed by the preceding fascist ruling quarters are so hideous that they can never be condoned down through generations. The GNP, instead of making apology to the Korean nation for the crimes committed by its preceding fascist regimes, is working hard to cover up those crimes, talking about "statute of limitations concerning prosecution" in a bid to prevent more crimes perpetrated by it in the past from being disclosed. The GNP is, at the same time, hell bent on attacking the forces for progressive reforms, the June 15 forces, while shifting the responsibility for the crimes onto them.
    These moves of the GNP are all aimed at isolating the forces for progressive reforms, the June 15 forces from the people and disorganizing them to chill the desire to achieve independence, democracy and reunification through an alliance with the north, the main trend in south Korea, and bring back the dark era of fascist rule to south Korea. The statute of limitations is not applicable to the crimes against the nation and humanity. Justice and truth are sure to triumph and injustice and lies are bound to be brought to light any time and judged by history.

U.S. Blamed for Possessing WMD

     Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The United States is persistently pursuing the policy of hostility toward the DPRK, loudly talking about fictitious "nuclear threat" from the DPRK and its "human rights issue." But the reality goes to clearly prove that it is the U.S. which has massively stockpiled weapons of mass destruction (WMD) including depleted uranium shells and nuclear weapons and it is a chieftain of terrorism and human rights abuses. The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland said this in its information bulletin No. 913 issued on Dec. 23 in connection with the recent disclosure of the U.S. imperialist aggression troops' possession of a lot of depleted uranium shells, radioactive weapons, in south Korea.
    The bulletin said:
    The U.S. is threatening and blackmailing the dignified sovereign state after introducing WMDs such as nuclear weapons and depleted uranium shells to it and seeking to use them against its peace-loving people. It is preposterous, indeed, for the U.S. to talk about "nuclear threat" from the DPRK and "human rights issue" in it.
    The DPRK will bolster up its war deterrent for self-defence under the uplifted banner of Songun to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the nation as long as there are WMDs in south Korea and the U.S. persists in its hostile policy to stifle the DPRK.

Immortal Feats of Kim Jong Suk in Building Juche Army

     Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk devoted herself day and night to aid President Kim Il Sung in carrying out the cause of building the army after the country's liberation and gave instructions concerning the building of the regular revolutionary armed forces on more than 420 occasions. She visited schools and training centers at all levels including Pyongyang Institute and National Security Officers Training Centre and led all the students to prepare themselves to be soldiers of the President firmly equipped with his revolutionary idea, Juche-motivated war method, the work method and style of the anti-Japanese guerillas.
    She visited Pyongyang Institute together with the President on June 30, Juche 35 (1946) and indicated the orientation and ways of founding the flying corps of new Korea.
    She awakened military officials to solving all the problems arising in building the army in our own way and illuminated the ways for a successful military parade of the regular revolutionary armed forces.
    She also visited a tank unit in Nov. Juche 37 (1948) to teach the officers how to organize and guide training so well that soldiers may learn tank techniques in a short period. In early June, Juche 38 (1949) she went to a flying unit and helped officers to train the first woman pilot in Korea. She also visited an ordnance factory several times and taught how to produce more weapons of good quality with our own strength and technology. Looking round navy ship "Guard Ship 51" built by the Korean workers for the first time in early September, Juche 38 (1949) she talked about producing more guard ships so as to contribute to developing the navy.
    In order to found the newspaper "Josoninmingun" and establish Juche in its edition she examined a newspaper issued on an experimental basis and guided its edition.

Government Delegation of DPRK Leaves for China

     Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- A government delegation of the DPRK headed by Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet, left here Saturday to visit China at the invitation of the government of the People's Republic of China. It was seen off at the airport by Rim Kyong Man, minister of Foreign Trade, Kim Yong Il, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and Wu Donghe, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK.

Agreement on Joint Oil Exploitation Inked between DPRK and China

     Beijing, December 24 (KCNA) -- An agreement on joint oil exploitation on the sea was signed between the governments of the DPRK and China through friendly negotiations. The signing ceremony took place here today.
    The agreement was inked by Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet who is leading the DPRK government delegation on a visit to China, and Zeng Peiyan, vice-premier of the State Council of China.

KCNA Blasts Japan's Fresh "Abduction" Racket

     Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- As already well known to the world, the Japanese reactionaries have worked hard to garner support from the international community, clamoring for solving the "abduction issue" in the past. They have faked up stories about "false remains" and "close examination." They resorted to such political adventure as citing even the British intelligence service to make those stories sound plausible.
    Japan has only suffered shame and jeer of the international community as the falsity of these farces has been brought to light one after another. As if it were not enough with this, Japan is now getting busy to kick up another "abduction" row.
    It is busying itself to fake up the second "abduction case" by putting forward such human scum as Jenkins branded as "Juda of modern version" and "a vegetable human being". Meanwhile, Japanese government officials are vying with each other to solicit international cooperation. Recently the Japan Defence Agency chief asked for "cooperation" when talking with the Russian ambassador to Japan and the ambassador in charge of human rights issue expressed his intention to build up international opinion for the settlement of the "abduction issue."
    A large meeting calling on the international community to work for an "earlier settlement of the abduction issue" was held in Osaka. This clearly proves that the Japanese reactionaries are systematically conducting a premeditated smear campaign against the DPRK and they felt an urgent need to kick up a fresh "abduction" racket in the international arena.
    Tokyo, a centre of plot-breeding operations, is using even Jenkins for staging the second "abduction farce" which is nothing surprising nor new to us. The think-tank of the Japanese ultra-right forces are master hands at conspiratorial plots. They see no difficulty in replacing the remains of a wife personally sent by her husband with the remains of another person and holding a funeral after painting a person still alive as a dead one. This think-tank cited such despicable man as Jenkins this time to peddle the story about the "abduction" of women of third countries. This is ridiculous, indeed.
    Explicitly speaking, those countries cited in the "second abduction case" have promoted interests with the DPRK, respecting each other in the idea of independence, peace and friendship for the last decades.
    The plot-breeding organization in Japan which lacks elementary political sense and diplomatic common sense is citing the fresh story about "abduction" of women of the third countries for driving a wedge between the countries that have friendly ties and working hard to make its farce sound plausible in the international arena.
    We categorically dismiss the second "abduction case" peddled by the Japanese reactionaries as a product of their foolish attempt to tarnish the image of the DPRK in the international arena and evade their redemption of the past by "internationalizing the abduction issue".
    The solicitation campaign being conducted by Japan, the world's biggest abductor and criminal state, under the pretext of "international solution" to the "abduction issue" is nothing but a smokescreen to cover up its crimes.
    It would be better for Japan to opt for doing something helpful to itself and its people such as efforts to improve its relations with the DPRK, instead of clinging to such childish and ridiculous farces as the fabrication of the story about "abduction". Japan's fresh "abduction" racket will get it nowhere.
