Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Mexico

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction" was brought out in pamphlet on Feb. 1 by the Publishing House of the Workers' Party of Mexico. The work published on June 19, Juche 86 (1997) clarified the idea that it is a fundamental principle to be observed in carrying out the cause of socialism to preserve the Juche character and national character of the revolution and construction, and tasks for embodying it and ways to do so.

Kim Jong Il's Works Studied in Various Countries

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Seminars on leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Juche Philosophy Is an Original Revolutionary Philosophy" was held by the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung on Jan. 22 and by the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism on Jan. 27 in the run-up to Feb. 16. Balzor Singh Chauhan, chairman of the Indian group, briefed the attendants of a seminar on the work, noting that the advantages and vitality of the Juche philosophy have been clearly proved by the work as the philosophy reflects the requirements of the revolutionary practice and gives the most correct answers to the questions arising in its course.
    He said that Kim Jong Il set out the original Songun political mode based on the Juche idea on the basis of his deep insight into the changed reality and the need of the era. Ramon Jimenez Lopez, president of the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism, said that the Juche philosophy raised the issue of relationship between the world and man and his position and role in the world as a fundamental issue of philosophy and clarified the philosophical principle that man is the master of everything and decides everything and, on this basis, most correctly indicated the way of hewing out man's destiny. Herein lies the originality of the Juche philosophy that distinguishes it from the preceding philosophies of the working class, he added. Meanwhile, a seminar on Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Workers' Party of Korea Is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" was held at the Korean Chilbo Wood Company in Equatorial Guinea on Jan. 19.

Pace-Setters in Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement to Meet

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The 3rd Meeting of Pace-setters in the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement will be held in Pyongyang late in February. The meeting will review the successes and experience gained in the course of the movement and discuss tasks and ways for intensifying the movement as required by the era of Songun.
    It will be attended by standard-bearers of the three-revolution from institutions, industrial establishments and cooperative farms in various fields of the national economy which have won the Three-Revolution Red Flag by registering signal successes in the drive to implement the Workers' Party of Korea's line of carrying out the three revolutions, and officials of the Party and administrative organs and working people's organizations.
    The meeting will provide a momentous occasion of developing the above-said movement, a powerful engine for building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation, on a new higher level to further consolidate the political and ideological position of the DPRK and bring about a decisive turn in economic construction and the betterment of the people's living.

U.S. Test-fire of Interceptor Missile Disclosed

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Voice of People, an Internet broadcasting service in south Korea, disclosed the fact that the Missile Defense Agency of the U.S. Department of Defense recently test-fired an interceptor missile targeted against the DPRK. The broadcasting service quoted the Jan. 25 issue of The Washington Times as saying so.
    According to the paper, the U.S. conducted the test of intercepting a missile on Jan. 24 with many visitors including U.S. Congressmen and media persons watching it. But what mattered was that the U.S. chose a Pacific island as a missile launching site but the observers were unanimous in the view that the island was, in fact, supposed to be the DPRK.

Iranian Embassy Officials Visit War Museum

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Jalaleddin Namini Mianji, Iranian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of the embassy visited the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum on Feb. 6 on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the victory in the Islamic revolution in Iran. They looked round the historic relics on display with keen interest, being briefed on the fact that President Kim Il Sung set out the Juche-oriented military thoughts and original strategic and tactical policies and wisely led the whole party and army and all the people to defeat the U.S. imperialists who boasted of being "the strongest" in the world and win a brilliant victory in the last Fatherland Liberation War. Then the Iranian diplomats met with heroes of the DPRK.
    At the meeting, generals of the Korean People's Army Pak Chan Su and Jang Chon Bong recollected with pride the heroic exploits performed by the army and people of Korea in the war to defend the country from the U.S. imperialist aggressors. They declared that the Korean army and people closely rallied around the great brilliant commander of Songun
    Kim Jong Il would fully demonstrate once again the stamina of heroic Korea if the U.S. imperialist aggressors ignite another war on this land.
    The Iranian ambassador noted that the Korean army and people won a great victory by displaying great self-sacrificing spirit and heroism in the war. The visit to the museum convinced them that the Korean people would emerge victorious in the future, too, as they are united close behind their leader, he added.
    He reiterated their will to work hard to boost the friendly ties between Iran and the DPRK.

National Meeting Marks 60th Anniversary of UAWK

    　Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- A national meeting took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Feb. 6 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea. Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jung Rin conveyed a congratulatory message sent by the WPK Central Committee to the UAWK organizations and members.
    In the congratulatory message, the WPK Central Committee highly appreciated great achievements made by the UAWK and agricultural workers in developing the union into a revolutionary political organization of Juche in the past 60 years, upholding the idea and leadership of the Party with allegiance, and their brilliant feats in the drive for carrying out the socialist rural construction programme of the Party. Chairman of the UAWK Central Committee Kang Chang Uk in his report referred to the undying leadership feats of the three generals of Mt. Paektu in the glorious 60-year history of the UAWK.
    The reporter said:
    President Kim Il Sung formed a revolutionary peasants organization of Juche type to give birth to the peasants' movement of the independent era in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and then founded the UAWK, a massive political organization of peasants after the liberation of the country. He illuminated the road ahead of the UAWK in every period and at every stage of the developing revolution and wisely led it to resolve the rural issue.
    Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero, trained the Korean peasants to be masters of soil and builders of a new country and led them to repay the benevolence of Kim Il Sung with increased production of food.
    Leader Kim Jong Il has energetically guided the UAWK to bring about a great revolutionary turn in its work as required by a new high stage of the developing revolution.
    He in his famous work "On Stepping Up the Work of the Union of Agricultural Working People" elucidated the character and duty of the union, the supreme principle of its building and activities, its tasks and ways of their implementation. He has pursued the unique Songun politics and developed the UAWK into a militant organization faithful to the Party's leadership of the Songun revolution. The reporter called upon all the UAWK organizations, officials and members to hold Kim Il Sung in high esteem forever as the sun of Juche, devotedly defend Kim Jong Il and uphold the Songun leadership of the Party with loyalty, firmly rallied in one mind around the headquarters of the revolution.
    Present at the meeting were Vice-Premier of the Cabinet Ro Tu Chol and officials concerned and union officials and exemplary members from the capital city of Pyongyang, provinces, cities and counties.

Bush's Reckless Remarks under Fire in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- A spokesman of the Reunification Solidarity for the Implementation of the June 15 South-North Joint Declaration and Peace on the Korean Peninsula reportedly made public a statement on Feb. 1 blasting U.S. President Bush's reckless remarks. The statement accused Bush of expressing his unchangeable bitterness toward the DPRK in his "state of the union address" on Jan. 31. This is little short of the U.S. formal declaration to the world that it has no intention to improve its relations with the north through dialogue, it noted.

Everybody Called upon to Advance Full of Great Ambition and Confidence

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The cause of socialism is started and successfully pushed forward by the revolutionaries who work hard full of great ambition and confidence. The revolutionaries can do anything when they struggle to attain a high aim, confident of victory. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
    A great prosperous powerful nation can be built only by those who are strong in idea and faith and cherish a noble ideal and ambition and are optimistic about future. The Korean people's great ambition and strong confidence serve as an ideological and mental factor of setting a higher goal in revolution and construction and bringing about a great surge there.
    The great ambition and confidence serve as driving force encouraging the people to make redoubled efforts under the uplifted banner of the uninterrupted revolution, while consolidating the achievements already gained.
    The Workers' Party of Korea unrolled a grandiose plan for building a great prosperous powerful nation and has wisely led all the servicepersons and people to carry out it. Unshakable is their will to make a greater leap forward in building a great prosperous powerful nation under the Songun leadership of the party.
    The above-said ambition and confidence serve as a main source enabling them to pull through ordeals and difficulties with indomitable will and win brilliant victory. Final victory is in store for only those with strong revolutionary will who firmly believe in the justice of their ideology and cause and bravely overcome any difficulties and ordeals.
    The servicepersons and people of the DPRK are waging a dynamic struggle, fully confident of the victory of Korean-style socialism. No force on earth can stand in their way as they are waging a persevering struggle, always remaining confident of victory and optimistic about future.
    Their great ambition and confidence in victory of the revolution are strikingly manifested in the on-going general march of the Songun revolution. They picture to themselves with pride a more prosperous country that will appear in the future, witnessing the splendid reality in which all the seeds sown and cultivated by leader Kim Jong Il in adversity have yielded abundant fruits, the article concludes.

U.S. Military Actions for Preemptive Nuclear Attack Assailed

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The United States is keen on collecting and analyzing information about "enemy states" including the DPRK and China and screwing up regional tensions while staging joint military exercises around the Korean Peninsula and in the Asia-Pacific region after announcing its plan for the study and manufacture of long-distance bombers of the next generation, bombers mainly targeted on China. In this regard Rodong Sinmun Tuesday carries a signed commentary. The U.S. intends to put into practice its "preemptive nuclear attack" doctrine in Asia by force, the commentary notes, and observes:
    This is illustrated by the U.S. announcement of the above-said plan and frantic joint military exercises. In a nutshell, the U.S. imperialists' reckless military moves are a revelation of their "preemptive nuclear attack" doctrine.
    The dangerous military moves of the belligerent Bush group escalated from the beginning of the year compel the Korean army and people to harden their determination and will to do their best to strengthen the military capability in defence of the sovereignty of the country.
    For the DPRK to build up its military power is a just step to defend the sovereignty and security of the country under the present tense situation of the Korean Peninsula. The more frantically the U.S. imperialists intensify their moves to stifle the DPRK, the more firmly the Korean people will consolidate their self-reliant defence power.

Appeal of DPRK Favored by Regional Organization

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The Oceanic Regional Committee for the Implementation of the June 15 Joint Declaration issued a statement on Feb. 1 in support of the appeal to all the Koreans adopted at the joint meeting of the government, political parties and organizations in the DPRK. The statement positively welcomed the proposal made by the joint meeting to conduct a vigorous patriotic movement for independent reunification, peace against war and overall national unity under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself" and grandly hold the great festival for reunification common to the nation with an attendance of delegates of political parties and organizations in the north and the south and overseas and the authorities on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the historic June 15 joint declaration.
    The statement urged the south Korean "government" and political parties to exert positive efforts to significantly mark the "Day of by our nation itself" as an auspicious day common to the nation as proposed by the joint meeting.
    Overseas Koreans from all walks of life should devote their all to accomplishing the cause of reunification by the concerted efforts of the Koreans under the banner of the joint declaration, the statement noted.
    It stressed that they would join all other compatriots in the efforts to strengthen the June 15 joint national committee, decisively enhance its function and role and boost the solidarity with the forces of the pro-reunification patriotic movement so as to make a new history of independent reunification, peace against war and overall national unity by pooling their desire for reunification.

Trasylol-88 Developed

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Scientists of Pyongyang University of Medicine of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have developed "Trasylol-88" efficacious for acute pancreatitis, hemorrhagic shock and other acute diseases. The injection is made with substance extracted from herbivorous animals. It is polypeptide and its molecular weight is 6,500daiton.
    In particular, only a few injections can remarkably improve the condition of patients who have to undergo surgical operation at once. And the injection at the initial stage is potent for the chronic pancreatitis patients who are apt to relapse at the turn of the seasons.
    Once the injection is administered with antibiotics to the acute pneumonica, sepsis and pulmonary emphysema cases it can shorten the treatment period remarkably while reducing the volume of antibiotics and preventing internal organs from being hurt. And it is an essential drug for heart operation cases.
    Its clinical test shows that it has no after-effects and is very efficacious. Its production cost is cheap.
    The "Trasylol-88" was given a patent in August Juche 91 (2002).

"GNP", Den of Swindles

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The "Grand National Party" of south Korea is employing every possible means to come back to power. Now its swindles are being disclosed one after another As the "elections to local autonomy" to be held at the end of May will have a great influence on the "presidential election" next year, such illegal pre-election campaigns as offering money and goods and bribing voters are becoming all the more rampant in south Korea.
    According to materials made public recently by the "Central Election Management Committee" of south Korea, the "GNP" committed as many as 409 swindles. Originally, fraudulence and swindle are the constitutional attribute of the "GNP". It is not by the support of the people but by the fraudulence and swindle that the successive forerunners of the "GNP" had maintained power for scores of years. After the "May 16 military coup d’etat" in 1961, Park Chung Hee changed his military uniform into plain clothes and grasped the "presidential chair", saying that he had not greed for power. He had enforced the pernicious fascist dictatorship for nearly 20 years. The "Yusin" dictator satisfied his greed for power by fabricating the election results by all describable fraudulence.
    The "New Korea Party", the last predecessor of the "GNP", embezzled the funds of the "Agency for National Security Planning" during the "elections to the local autonomy" in 1995 and the "15th elections to the National Assembly" in 1996. The "GNP" squeezed a colossal amount of fund from many entrepreneurs, threatening that it would "liquidate irregularities after its assumption to power" during the last "presidential elections".
    Some time ago, the representative of the "GNP" clamored that it would cancel the nomination immediately if fraudulence was disclosed during the nomination of deputies to the local elections. This is nothing but a trick to divert elsewhere the people's hatred for them.
    The south Korean people will not be deceived by the swindle of the "GNP" to come into power again.

India Donates Rice to DPRK

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- A ceremony of conveying 2,000 tons of rice donated by the Indian government to the DPRK took place at Nampho Port on Feb. 7. Present there were Jo Si Bong, vice-minister of Food Procurement and Administration, officials concerned and N. T. Khankhup, Indian ambassador to the DPRK, and staff members of the embassy.
    The Indian government has donated to the DPRK various kinds of humanitarian aid materials including food and medicament on nine occasions since 1995.

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- The central military band of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation headed by Valerii Khalilov, chief of the Military Orchestral Service and its chief conductor of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, arrived here today.

Special Envoy of Indonesian President Leaves

     Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Nana Sutresna, special envoy of the Indonesian president who is a political counselor to the president, and his party left here Tuesday after wrapping up their four-day visit to the DPRK. While staying in Korea, they visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace to pay respects to President Kim Il Sung, the Tower of the Juche Idea, the Grand People's Study House, the Mansudae Art Studio, the Taean Friendship Glass Factory and other places.

Kim Jong Il inspecciona Unidad No. 1687 del EPC

    　Pyongyang, 7 de febrero (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Secretario General del Partido del Trabajo de Corea, Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y Comandante Supremo del Ejercito Popular de Corea, inspecciono la Unidad No. 1687 del EPC. El Comandante Supremo hizo conocimiento del estado de cumplimiento del deber de la unidad y vio un entrenamiento de los militares.
    Se mostro satisfecho de que todos los oficiales y soldados se han armado firmemente con la idea militar y los metodos de combate autoctonos del partido y se han formado como valerosos e ingeniosos combatientes capaces de pelear a solas contra ciento, e indico las tareas que se presentan para fortalecer la combatividad de la unidad.     Al ver los depositos en que estaban apilados viveres recogidos de las parcelas para el autoconsumo, dijo que este nuevo aspecto que se ve en todas las unidades es una orgullosa realidad que puede crear solo nuestro ejercito que con el ardiente patriotismo dedica su sangre y sudor para el partido y la prosperidad del pais, y recalco que toda la sociedad debe impulsar consecuentemente la labor de aprender el espiritu revolucionario de los militares para producir nuevas transformaciones en todos los sectores.

Acciones militares de EE.UU. para ataque preventivo nuclear

    　Pyongyang, 7 de febrero (ATCC) -- En estos tiempos, Estados Unidos da mas calor a la recogida y analisis de informaciones sobre los "paises hostiles", inclusive la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y China. Ademas, agrava la ya tirante situacion de las zonas perifericas de la Peninsula Coreana y de la region de Asia y Pacifico al anunciar su plan de investigacion y fabricacion de bombarderos de larga distancia de la proxima generacion y al desarrollar los ejercicios militares conjuntos de diversos tipos.
    Al respecto, el diario Rodong Sinmun publico en su edicion del dia 7 un comentario individual que senala en particular:
    EE.UU. intenta materializar en Asia su doctrina del "golpe preventivo nuclear" con el uso de las fuerzas armadas. El anuncio del mencionado plan, que preve principalmente la produccion de bombarderos para atacar a China, las freneticas maniobras militares conjuntas y otras imprudentes acciones militares de los imperialistas yanquis devienen un manifiesto de esa doctrina.
    Esos aventureros movimientos de la belicosa bandada liderada por Bush, que se tornan mas intensos desde el principio del ano en curso, solidifican la decision y voluntad del ejercito y el pueblo de Corea de dedicar todos los esfuerzos posibles al fortalecimiento de las fuerzas de defensa nacional para salvaguardar la soberania y seguridad del pais.
    Esto constituye una medida muy justa que corresponde a la demanda de la tirante situacion actual de la Peninsula Coreana.
    El pueblo coreano respondera al recrudecimiento de las maniobras de EE.UU. de hostigar a Corea con el fortalecimiento de las fuerzas de defensa nacional.

Mexico: obra de Kim Jong Il en folleto

    　Pyongyang, 7 de febrero (ATCC) -- La Editora del Partido del Trabajo de Mexico dio a luz el dia primero en folleto la obra maestra del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "Para mantener el espiritu Juche y la nacionalidad en el proceso revolucionario y constructivo", publicada el 19 de junio del 86 (1997) de la Era Juche. La obra dilucida la idea de que mantener el espiritu Juche y la nacionalidad en el proceso revolucionario y constructivo deviene un principio fundamental a ser mantenido en el cumplimiento de la causa del socialismo, y presenta las tareas y los medios para llevarla a cabo.

Medicina de virtud especial "Trasylol-88"

    　Pyongyang, 7 de febrero (ATCC) -- "Trasylol-88", recien desarrollado por los cientificos de la Universidad de Medicina de Pyongyang de Corea, surte gran efecto en el tratamiento de pancreatitis aguda, choque y otras enfermedades agudas. Es una medicina inyectable elaborada con el extracto de los animales herbivoros.
