Kimjongilia Exhibition Held in China

     Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- An immortal Kimjongilia Exhibition took place at the Famous Flower Garden in Dalian, China on Feb. 16 on the occasion of the February holiday. Present there were public figures and masses in Dalian City. After speeches were made, the participants looked round the exhibition presenting a fascinating view with immortal flowers named after a peerlessly great man. The director of the board of the Dalian International Trading Co., Ltd. said that he deemed it proud to hold the Kimjongilia exhibition in Dalian at a time when Sino-Korean friendship is growing stronger in new annals.
    The general manager of a company in Dalian said that Kimjongilia is a flower reflecting the infinite respect of the Korean people for their leader. The general manager of another company in Dalian and that he could not find words to express raptures and beauty of Kimjongilia.

Commemorations of Institution of Takeshima Day in Japan Assailed

     Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- South Koreans of different social standings denounced the Shimane Prefectural authorities of Japan for holding "commemorations of the first anniversary of the institution of the Takeshima Day", according to south Korean KBS and CBS. The authorities enacted a draft law on instituting the "Takeshima (Tok Islet) Day" in last March and held commemorations of its first anniversary on Feb. 22. The All People Solidarity for Defending Tok Islet held press conferences in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul on Feb. 21 and 22 and branded the commemorations held by the Japanese government and the Shimane Prefectural authorities as an act of invading an inviolable territory of the Korean nation.
    The organization threatened that the south Koreans will conduct a campaign to boycott the Japanese goods if Japan's claim to Korea's inviolable Tok Islet continues and urged the government to strongly counter Japan's incessant provocations. The organization formed a protest team and dispatched it to Japan on Feb. 21 with a view to checking the commemorations.
    The Headquarters of the Movement for Retaking History of Tok Islet also held a press conference in front of the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Seoul on Feb. 22 and demanded the government strongly cope with the reckless action of Japan.
    The south Korean government in a commentary issued on the same day as regards Japan's commemorations clarified that the government will resolutely counter any attempt to encroach upon the dominium over Tok Islet, an inalienable territory of Korea.

Meeting of Officials in Field of Land and Environment Preservation Held

     Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- A meeting of officials in the field of land and environment preservation took place at the People's Palace of Culture Saturday. Present there were Premier of the Cabinet Pak Pong Ju, Secretary of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jung Rin and cabinet members, leading officials of ministries, national institutions and working people's organizations, leading officials of provincial, city and county party and power organs and officials of land and environment preservation and related sectors.
    A report on reviewing the work of land management last year was made and then followed speeches at the meeting.
    A reporter and speakers referred to the achievements in the work of land management including the planting of good kinds of trees such as pine-nut trees, larches and acacias in the area of at least 100,000 hectares and the paving of hundreds of kilometers of new roads last year, which they said are the precious fruition of the tireless leadership of Kim Jong Il.
    They underscored the need to launch a dynamic campaign to spruce up the land of the country to suit the features of a great prosperous powerful country true to the party's Juche-based idea of land management in this significant year marking the 10th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's initiation of a powerful party and social campaign for land management.
    They called upon all provinces, cities and counties to step up turning the country into a thick woodland ad greenery and the projects for preventing flood damage, holding fast to afforestation and river improvement as the main task of land management this year. They called for continuing to push forward the paving of new roads and their repair and management, sprucing up the capital city of Pyongyang and extensively building modern dwelling houses in provincial, city and county seats.
    They called upon all sectors and units to set the objects of land construction so as to substantially help develop the national economy and improve the people's living standard and intensify the guidance to construction and supervision for it. They called upon provinces, cities and counties to build up well model units of land management and generalize them to carry on land management on a higher level. They stressed that all the officials should make positive contributions to planning and carrying on the preservation of land and environment in a big way and build up land in a revolutionary way to meet the requirements of the new century, regarding the intention of Kim Jong Il as an absolute standard.

February 16 Celebrated in Peru

     Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- A national meeting and a book and photo exhibition were held at the building of the Peruvian Journalists' Association on Feb. 10 on the occasion of the holiday of February. Displayed in the venues of the functions were works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, Korean books and photos on the subject of "Kim Jong Il, Korea Today" and "Celebration of the 60th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea".
    Present there were leading officials of parties and organizations including the Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship, the Socialist Party of Peru, the Revolutionary Socialist Party of Peru, the Peruvian Communist Party and the Communist Party of Peru (Red Motherland)", members of organizations for study of the Juche idea and organizations of friendship and solidarity with the Korean people, political and public figures and masses from all walks of life.
    Present on invitation were the Korean ambassador to Peru and embassy officials. At the meeting speakers stressed that February 16 is the auspicious holiday of the Korean people as well as all peoples of the world.
    It is the global trend to deeply study and learn from the Songun politics, they said, adding that the unique Songun politics of Kim Jong Il is kept deep in the hearts of the world people for its might, validity and vitality and dynamically pushes the world along the track of independence.
    A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.

Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Booklet in Peru

     Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Juche Philosophy Is an Original Revolutionary Philosophy" was brought out in booklet by the Publilaser Publishing House of Peru on Feb. 13. The work, published on July 26, Juche 85 (1996), clearly clarifies the scientific analysis of the time limitation of the preceding philosophy and the uniqueness of the Juche philosophy and the idea that the Juche philosophy serves as the revolutionary and political one of the Workers' Party of Korea. It specifies the matters of principle in study and explanation of the Juche philosophy.
    The preface of the booklet says:
    The Juche philosophy, which made the most precious contribution to the socialist cause, finds its quintessence in the Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung, the eternal leader of the Korean people, and comprehensively systematized and enriched by leader Kim Jong Il.
    But for the Juche idea, the Korean people could not defend the socialist banner in the hard trials nor heroically beat back the incessant moves of the U.S. imperialists and their following forces for aggression and economic blockade against the DPRK. The Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il is based on the Juche idea.

Rodong Sinmun on Three-point Patriotic Movement

     Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- The idea and leadership of Kim Jong Il are now serving as a victorious banner which powerfully encourages the 70 million fellow countrymen in their nation-wide efforts to conduct the dynamic three-point patriotic movement under the banner of "By our nation itself". Rodong Sinmun today observes this in a signed article.
    It says:
    This is clearly proved by the reality that the Korean nation is advancing this year, holding high the slogan "Let us vigorously forward the patriotic movement for independent reunification, peace against war and great national unity under the banner of 'by our nation itself!'".

GNP Urged to Stand Trial of History

     Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a signed commentary castigates a floor leader of the Grand National Party for his reckless remarks in a speech as a representative of a negotiation body at the National Assembly of south Korea on Feb. 21, branding his remarks as one that can be made only by a brazen-faced man, He let loose nonsense that no one opposes the south-north issue, peaceful reunification and independent reunification, and admonished the present government not to use the south-north issue and the reunification issue as a political strategy to remain in power. He even went the length of uttering that the nuclear issue and the human rights issue of the north ought to be settled.
    His remarks speak for the pro-U.S. conservatives keen to suppress those forces standing for progress and reform and the June 15 reunification forces with the approaching of local autonomous election due in May in south Korea, win election and take the next-term office of power, the commentary says, and goes on: What is more serious is that he made virulent outcries about someone's non-existent "human rights issue" while shelving the crimes they have committed by driving the south Koreans into an abyss and ruthlessly abusing their human rights with sycophantic treachery, fascism, corruption and irregularities and political chaos. It admits of no argument that his remarks are aimed to fan up the war hysteria of the U.S. imperialist master keen on a smear campaign for finding the pretext of isolating and stifling the DPRK and incite fratricidal confrontation and war. The traitorous nature of the GNP will never change just as a crow is never the whiter for often washing. The GNP clan is making desperate efforts to get rid of their deplorable plight of being thrown away into the garbage of history for turning their back to the times and people's mind-set and attain their dirty greed for power at any cost, but in vain. The GNP should not resort to such a silly thing as trying to prolong its remaining days by inciting confrontation and war with fellow countrymen in conspiracy with the outsiders but stand a trial of history by itself as unanimously demanded by the times and the nation.

Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Mexico

     Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "Let Us Reunify the Country Independently and Peacefully through the Great Unity of the Entire Nation" was brought out in pamphlet by the Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea on Feb. 16. The work published on Apr. 18, Juche 87 (1998) comprehensively clarifies the principles and tasks for achieving the great unity of the nation including the idea of successfully carrying forward President Kim Il Sung's idea of the great unity of the nation and the idea that the great unity of the nation precisely means national reunification and the idea of achieving it on the principle of national independence under the banner of patriotism and national reunification.

Records of History Discovered in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- A large number of records of the government up to 1980 since the liberation of Korea were recently discovered in south Korea, KBS of south Korea said on Feb. 21. Among the more than 40,000 volumes of documents are "minutes of the State Council meetings" proving the fact that dictator Syngman Rhee obstructed the elimination of pro-Japanese elements.
    As already known, there was in south Korea the "special committee for investigation of traitors" inside the "Constituent Assembly" (the "National Assembly" at present) in 1948 whose mission was to investigate and punish the pro-Japanese elements who committed unpardonable acts of treachery during the Japanese imperialists' rule. However, the "special committee" ceased to exist without any success eight months after it started its activities in January 1949.
    It is said that the reason was explained in the "minutes of the State Council meetings" related to the "special committee."
    It is expected that if the relevant records are opened to the public they would be used as important basic information for the study of various cases and facts that still remain unclear and have strong impact on the campaign demanding a probe into the truth behind those cases and facts and compensation to the victims, the radio reported.

Reckless Remarks of GNP Heavyweight Blasted in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- Ri Pang Ho, chairman of the policy committee of the Grand National Party of south Korea, talked nonsense that people of each country of the world have two countries--their own motherland and the U.S. when addressing what it called "meeting for frustrating the state policy of the present government" on Feb. 20, according to a news report. The Reunification Solidarity of south Korea called a press conference in front of the building of the "National Assembly" in Seoul on Feb. 22 at which it termed his remarks sheer nonsense betraying the pro-U.S. sycophantic nature of the GNP. Accusing Ri, lawmaker and heavyweight of the biggest opposition party, of unhesitatingly asserting that the U.S. is his country, the Reunification Solidarity declared: This indicates what serious phase the moves of the pro-U.S. sycophantic and traitorous forces have reached.
    It demanded the GNP, a pro-U.S. traitorous party, disband itself. Angry speeches were made by figures of organizations affiliated to the Reunification Solidarity.
    The participants shouted slogans such as "Ri Pang Ho, quit the 'National Assembly!'" and "Immediately disorganize the GNP, south Korean branch of the U.S. Republican Party!"

Joint Press Release between Delegations of Youth Organisations of North and South

     Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- A joint press release between the delegations of youth organizations of the north and the south of Korea was made public in Pyongyang on Friday. According to the joint press release, the south side's delegation of the youth committees of the Uri Party, the Democratic Party and the Democratic Workers' Party visited Pyongyang from Feb. 20 to 24, 2006 under the sponsorship of the youth and students sub-committee of the North Side's Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the youth and students headquarters of the South Side's Committee. The first Pyongyang visit by the south side's delegation of youth committees of political parties after the division of Korea is a significant meeting of Korean youths in the north and the south, masters of national destiny and future, which fully demonstrated at home and abroad the justness and vitality of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. During its stay the south side's delegation of youth committees of political parties met with Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, held a joint meeting of youths in the north and the south for implementing the June 15 joint declaration with youths of the north side and had a meeting with officials of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League.
    It also visited the old home in Mangyongdae, Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the International Friendship Exhibition, the Tower of the Juche Idea, the Arch of Triumph, the King Tangun's Mausoleum, the King Tongmyong's Mausoleum and other places.

Message of Sympathy to Russian President

     Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Friday sent a message of sympathy to Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin as regards a sudden collapse of a roof in a market in Moscow that claimed dozens of human lives. Expressing deep sympathy and consolation to the president and, through him, to the bereaved families and victims, the message sincerely hoped that the Russian government would do away with the aftermath of the accident at an early date.

All Koreans Called upon to Force Japan to Pay for Its Crimes Committed against Them

     Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA)-- A spokesman for the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland issued a statement Saturday 130 years after the Japanese imperialists forced the feudal government of the Ri Dynasty to conclude the criminal "Kanghwa Island Treaty." The statement says: The Japanese imperialists provoked the "Unyo-maru" incident in September of 1875 and infiltrated seven warships with more than 800 aggressor troops on board into Kanghwa Island in 1876. They threatened and blackmailed the feudal government of the Ri Dynasty, firing guns. Finally on Feb. 27 they fabricated the "Kanghwa Island Treaty" in a coercive way.
    The treaty contains 12 clauses including those which force Korea to open its ports and grant Japan the right to make a survey of its coastal waters and work out a marine chart. It was, therefore, an illegal one as it was cooked up amid the threat of the Japanese imperialists' armed intervention and under their pressure in disregard of the will and interests of the Korean nation. It was, at the same time, an unequal document of aggression as it paved the way for the Japanese imperialists' aggression of Korea aimed at subjugating Korea politically, economically and militarily. Japan is now inciting militarism seized by the same ambition for overseas expansion as in those days when they cooked up the shackling treaty. It is whetting the sword to stage a comeback to Korea, hell bent on the confrontation with the DPRK in support of the U.S. hostile policy toward it.
    The crimes the Japanese imperialists committed against the Koreans are still fresh in the memory of the Koreans. They will certainly force them to pay for those crimes. The Koreans will never pardon the GNP, a gang of wicked sycophants and traitors keen on serving the U.S. and Japan in utter disregard of the dignity and interests of the nation, but deal deadly blows at them.

S. Korean Delegations Arrive

     Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- A delegation of the "Movement for Inter-Korean Help" of south Korea headed by Permanent Representative Kang Mun Gyu and a delegation of the "Central Committee of the Agricultural Cooperatives" of south Korea headed by Representative Director Song Sok U arrived here today.

Kim Jong Il Gives Field Guidance to Munchon Kumgang Smeltery

     Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance to the Munchon Kumgang Smeltery. After looking round the room devoted to the history of the smeltery, he went round the liquefying shop, zinc electrolyzing shop and various other processes of the smeltery to learn in detail about its technical equipment and production there. He was greatly satisfied to learn that the workers of the smeltery intensely loyal to the Party and the revolution have waged a vigorous drive to increase the production of non-ferrous metals and spruced up their work places as required by the era of Songun. It is very good that the smeltery has made strenuous efforts to modernize and scientize the production processes, thereby completely freeing the workers from difficult and labor consuming work, he said, underscoring the need to fully meet the requirements of the Juche idea for giving primary consideration to man in any work. Noting that the workers of the smeltery have upheld the Party with pure conscience and sense of obligation, firmly maintaining the consistent working class stand and steadfastly abiding by the principle of socialism even under the difficult and complicated situation and thus strikingly demonstrated the invincible might of the heroic working class of Korea, he highly appreciated their life totally dedicated to the prosperity of the country.
    He set forth tasks to be fulfilled by the smeltery.
    The demand for non-ferrous metals is further increasing as the socialist economic construction is developing in depth, he noted, calling for increasing the production and supply of non-ferrous metals badly needed by it.
    Saying that it is necessary for the smeltery to plan and undertake any work in a big and bold manner as it is a promising enterprise capable of producing a variety of non-ferrous metals and basic chemical products in order to turn it into a giant non-ferrous metal production centre in a brief span of time, he underlined the necessity to continue dynamically pushing ahead with the work to put the production processes on a modern and scientific basis to this end.
    He called for further improving the supply service for the workers. He stressed the need for all leading officials of the factories and enterprises to become servants for the workers and take deep care of their living down to all details as the DPRK has built a society for the working class.
    He expressed expectation and conviction that the workers of the smeltery would successfully perform their role as a pacemaker in implementing the WPK's economic strategy.

Dijo que esta es la unidad meritoria que mostro sin reservas el impetu heroico del Ejercito Popular de Corea en la defensa de la patria y la construccion socialista y anadio que en el futuro tambien los militares de la unidad deben exaltar el invencible poderio llevando adelante su orgullosa tradicion.

Comunicado comun de delegaciones juveniles del Norte y el Sur

     Pyongyang, 25 de febrero (ATCC) -- Quedo publicado el dia 24 en esta capital un comunicado conjunto entre las delegaciones de las entidades juveniles del Norte y el Sur de Corea. Segun el documento, bajo auspicios de la Subcomision de jovenes y estudiantes del Comite de la parte Norte para la Ejecucion de la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio y la Direccion de jovenes y estudiantes del Comite de la parte Sur del mismo caracter, la delegacion de los comites juveniles del Partido Uri, el Partido Democratico y el Partido de Trabajadores Democraticos del Sur de Corea visito Pyongyang del 20 al 24 de febrero de 2006.
    La visita de la citada delegacion, realizada por primera vez despues de la division nacional, demostro energicamente en el interior y exterior del pais la justeza y la vitalidad de la Declaracion Conjunta Norte-Sur del 15 de Junio siendo un significativo encuentro de los jovenes en el Norte y el Sur, protagonistas del destino y el futuro de la nacion.

    Confirmaron que ellos mismos son miembros de la digna generacion juvenil de la epoca del 15 de junio y acordaron lograr la gran unidad nacional por encima de las ideas, los ideales, los partidos politicos y las pertenencias y desarrollar la cooperacion e intercambio multilaterales entre los jovenes del Norte y el Sur.

Mexico: obra de Kim Jong Il

     Pyongyang, 25 de febrero (ATCC) -- El Instituto de la idea Juche de Mexico dio a luz el dia 16 en folleto la obra maestra del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "Que toda la nacion unida alcance la reunificacion independiente y pacifica de la patria", publicada el 18 de abril del 87 (1998) de la Era Juche. Esta obra aclara globalmente los principios y las tareas para lograr la gran unidad nacional, entre otros, la idea de heredar con brillantez el pensamiento de gran unidad nacional del Presidente Kim Il Sung y la de que la gran unidad nacional es precisamente la reunificacion de la patria y de lograrla bajo el principio de la independencia nacional y la bandera de amor a la patria y la nacion y de la reunificacion nacional.
