Foreign Organizations Post Articles on Their Homepages

     Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- Foreign organizations posted articles on their Internet homepages to mark Feb.16. The British Association for the Study of the Songun Politics posted photos on leader Kim Jong Il's unofficial visit to China, immortal flower Kimjongilia and various articles on its homepages.
    An article titled "Looking up to the sun of the nation" said nothing can shake the faith of the south Koreans that the destiny of the compatriots, national reunification and a bright future of the nation would be unthinkable without Kim Jong Il's greatness and leadership.
    An article titled "Cultivating the flower of the sun" introduced south Koreans cultivating with all sincerity Kimjongilia in reverence for the peerlessly great man on the occasion of the February holiday.
    The Brazilian Centre for Peace and Solidarity posted the portraits of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and an article titled "The prospect of Korea's reunification" on its homepage.
    Referring to the fact that Kim Il Sung set forth the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo in October 1980, the article said this is a fair and aboveboard and reasonable offer acceptable to any Korean.
    That was why the June 15 joint declaration which calls for achieving the reunification of Korea by federal formula was adopted by the top leaders of the north and the south in June 2000, the article noted, adding that the world would see reunified Korea in the near future.
    The U.S. Solidarity Committee for Supporting the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front and the South Korean People's Struggle posted photos on Kim Jong Il's unofficial visit to China, an appeal of the joint meeting of the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK and several articles on its homepage.

Disbandment of Treacherous Party Urged in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity in south Korea released a statement titled "Disband the Grand National Party, a treacherous and vulgar party" on February 24. The statement recalled that gentries of the GNP let loose a string of reckless remarks slandering the June 15 joint declaration and undisguisedly criticized the south-north reconciliation and cooperation.
    The GNP clan took issue with any work for the implementation of the joint declaration because it does not want the reunification of the nation, the statement pointed out. It demanded the GNP drop its sinister attempts to block the reunification movement of the nation and disband itself at once.

Great Alliance against Conservatives Called for

     Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- To achieve a great alliance against the conservatives provides a basic measure for shattering the challenges and obstructions of the pro-U.S. conservative forces, steadily promoting progress and reforms and developing the movement for national reunification on a new higher stage in south Korea, says Rodong Sinmun Sunday in a signed article. The pro-U.S. conservative forces of south Korea are the reactionaries of history blocking social progress and reforms and going against the June 15 era of reunification, the article notes, and goes on:
    If their moves are not checked and their attempt at coming to power again is allowed, it will be impossible to prevent the return of the same medieval fascist era of darkness as the era of the "Yusin" dictatorship in south Korea nor is it possible to expect a dynamic advance of the movement for national reunification.
    In order to meet the challenges of the pro-U.S. conservative forces it is necessary for all political parties, organizations and individuals aspiring after progress and reforms and reunification and pro-reform, pro-reunification broad masses to firmly unite as one under the banner of unity. Now that the right-wing conservative forces are keen on conspiracy and alliance under the signboard of "New Right," it is natural for all the forces in south Korea aspiring after progress and reforms and reunification to achieve a great alliance.
    There are in south Korea many reunification movement organizations for implementing the June 15 joint declaration and aspiring after a democratic society and dissident and civic movement organizations with progressive tendency. If various circles of south Korea achieve a great alliance against conservatives under the banner of democracy and reunification, they will display really herculean strength. If broad segments of south Korean people struggle in firm unity under the banner of the great alliance against conservatives, they will certainly defeat the pro-U.S. conservative forces no matter how desperately they may try, and successfully achieve social progress and reforms and conduct a more dynamic movement for independent reunification.

Greetings to Ghanaian President

     Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, on Mar. 2 sent a message of greetings to Ghanaian President John Agyekum Kufuor on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the independence of Ghana. Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would continue to grow stronger in the interests of the two peoples, the message wholeheartedly wished the Ghanaian president success in his responsible work for the development of the country.

Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Construction Site of Samsu Power Station

     Pyongyang, March 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, provided field guidance to the construction site of the Samsu Power Station. He was accompanied by Ri Jae Il, first vice department director of the C.C., the WPK, and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the same.
    He was greeted on the spot by Kim Kyong Ho, chief secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK, Jang Yong Sok, chief secretary of the Hyesan City Committee of the WPK, Ju Hak Sim, chief secretary of the Samsu County Committee of the WPK, and leading officials of the construction command.
    The builders who have constructed a lot of monumental edifices in the Workers' Party era in the revolutionary battle sites of the area of Mt. Paektu made tenacious efforts to attain the bold goal of building the Samsu Power Station by their own efforts, pushing forward the project at a rapid pace.
    After the successful completion of the most difficult objects in the project they are pushing ahead with the dam construction and generator assembling at a final phase. After being briefed on the construction of the power station before a huge painting showing a panoramic view of the station, he went round the construction site to learn in detail about the progress of the project.

    He set forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for expediting the construction of the power station, underscoring the need to build the power station as an edifice of eternal value as it is the nation's treasure that would greatly contribute to the building of a great prosperous powerful nation.
    He said that before completing the construction of the power station it is necessary to pay primary attention to fully guaranteeing the living of the evacuated inhabitants. Not the slightest inconvenience should be caused to those inhabitants as many houses will be moved from the waterlogged area after the completion of the power station, he said, stressing that to this end it is necessary to take thorough-going measures including the construction of dwelling houses.
    He pointed out that as the construction of the power station is a vast project that calls for doing a huge amount of work the cabinet, ministries, national institutions and relevant domains should render sincere assistance to the builders and supply sufficient quantities of materials and equipment necessary for the project in time. He called for concentrating all efforts on the construction of the power station, noting that it is possible to complete the project much earlier than scheduled if officials scrupulously organize the work now that the construction has passed the most difficult phase.

Kim Jong Il's Works Studied in Different Countries

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- A seminar, a lecture and a reading session on leader Kim Jong Il's famous works "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction" and "Songun Politics of Our Party Is an Effective Socialist Political Mode" were held by the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea, the Mongolian Chinggis Khan College and Marien Ngouabi University of Congo in the period from Feb. 7 to 15 on the occasion of the February holiday. Displayed in the venues of the functions were photos showing the leader's historical unofficial visit to China and his Songun revolutionary leadership exploits. Banou Keita, director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea, said at a seminar that Kim Jong Il's famous work "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction" serves as an encyclopedia indicating the road to be followed by the times and the revolution. N. Bold, chairman of the Centre for the Study of the Juche Idea of the Mongolian Chinggis Khan College, said at a lecture that Kim Jong Il has wisely led the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation with his Songun politics, an embodiment of the Songun idea based on the Juche idea.
    The DPRK has protected the sovereignty of the country and dynamically advanced along the path chosen by itself despite the U.S. imperialists' moves to isolate and stifle it, he noted, ascribing this to the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il. Sri Lankan President Supports Korea's Reunification

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- I hope Korea will be reunified as early as possible in the spirit of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse said this when receiving credentials from the DPRK ambassador e.p. to Sri Lanka on Feb. 28. We pleased with the shining successes made by the DPRK in all fields including politics, economy and culture, he added. Pointing to the good friendly relations that exist between the two countries, he expressed the hope that those ties would grow stronger in the future.

U.S. and South Korean Conservative Religionists' Human Rights Offensive under Fire

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity of south Korea and the "south Korean Church Human Rights Center" issued a joint statement on Feb. 28 assailing the U.S. and the south Korean conservative religionists for their frantic human rights offensive against the north. The statement described the plan of the U.S. and south Korean conservative religionists to hold in Seoul a "prayer meeting urging improved human rights performance in the north as another political offensive to be launched in pursuance of the U.S. hostile policy aimed to isolate and suffocate the north over the so-called "human rights issue".
    The projected "prayer meeting" is nothing but a grave challenge to hamstring the process of inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation as it is meant to serve the U.S. war purpose, it charged.
    Noting that no act obstructive to peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula should be tolerated, the statement demanded the conservative religionists stop the above-mentioned offensive.

General Strikes Staged in South Korea

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- At least 16,000 members of the south Korean Railway Corporation Trade Union staged general strikes in Seoul, Pusan, Taejon, Yongju and Sunchon Wednesday in protest against the authorities' unreasonable restructuring, according to press reports. The trade union decided to stage general strikes as the negotiations with the Railway Corporation over the unreasonable restructuring and the reinstatement of the dismissed workers, etc. failed though they had been held more than ten times till February 28.
    Unionists from various areas gathered in five places and entered general strikes simultaneously after Kim Yong Hun, chairman of the trade union, called them at the dawn of Wednesday.
    On the evening of Feb. 28 there were ceremonies of kicking off general strikes, meetings and "evenings" in the above-said places. The strikers strongly resisted against the police which totally blocked those places and threw a tight cordon there.
    A ceremony of kicking off a general strike took place in Seoul with more than 5,500 unionists attending.
    The south Korean authorities issued an instruction to totally block their general strikes by all means. Under this situation the trade union decided on March 2 to call off the general strikes in the five areas and let its members go back to their areas so that they might stage strikes with each union branch as a unit.

Rally for Independence Held in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- The People's Solidarity and the Reunification Solidarity in south Korea reportedly held a rally for independence in front of the U.S. embassy in Seoul on Mar. 1 on the occasion of the 87th anniversary of the March 1 popular uprising. A "declaration for independence for 2006" was published at the rally. The declaration said:
    "Independence" which was the spirit of the popular uprising, is the primary political target and a practical task facing different classes and strata in the present times. It is impossible to expect a new era of peaceful reunification unless sovereignty is achieved in all social fields of this land.
    We should fulfill the five-point task for independence in the same spirit of sovereignty and independence as displayed by the forerunners in their indomitable struggle to accomplish the historical cause of national sovereignty and independence during the March 1 popular uprising, the declaration noted, and continued: We should check the moves for the "strategic flexibility" of the U.S. forces in south Korea and foil the plan to form a "new south Korea-U.S. military alliance" for aggression.
    We should check Japan's moves to revive militarism.
    We should decisively foil Japan's plot to revive militarism based on the tightened U.S.-Japan alliance for war at the juncture of historic turn in the advance toward the era of independence and peace.
    It is necessary to check the negotiations for the conclusion of the FTA and completely frustrate the U.S. policy of neo-liberalism.
    It is also necessary to stand against the U.S. pressure for the reduction of the south Korean film screen quota and check its offensive for cultural aggression. We should check the conservatives' moves against history and exert positive efforts for social reforms and the independent and peaceful reunification. Independence and peaceful reunification are the only way of carving out the future of the nation. We should boost the inter-Korean relations of reconciliation and cooperation to consolidate the basis of peaceful reunification and promote social reforms.

Banquet Given in Honor of Great King of Cambodia

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK gave a banquet at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Friday in honor of visiting Great King of Cambodia Norodom Sihanouk. Present on invitation were the great king and the great queen, Cambodian guests, Chhorn Hay, Cambodian ambassador to the DPRK, and embassy officials. Speaking at the banquet, Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the SPA, said: We will in the future, too, actively support the patriotic cause of the great king and make every possible effort to further expand and develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the Cambodian people, true to the behests of President Kim Il Sung and the great intention of leader Kim Jong Il.
    We highly praise the great king for his devoted activities for national reconciliation and unity and the prosperity of the country as the father of the Cambodian nation and sincerely wish the Cambodian people greater success in their work to build peaceful, independent, powerful and prosperous Cambodia under the leadership of the great king, he noted, expressing the belief that the current visit of the great king to the DPRK will mark an important occasion in further strengthening the ties of fraternal friendship between the Korean and Cambodian peoples.
    Norodom Sihanouk, speaking next, stressed that Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, the great father of the Korean people, and the great leader Marshal Kim Jong Il who is successfully carrying forward his cause have performed noteworthy feats in the world's history in the greatest heroic patriotic struggle for the liberation of Korea and the building of socialism of Juche.
    The Kingdom of Cambodia and the DPRK have closely supported and cooperated, constantly united and solidarized with each other in any circumstances since 1965 of glory and happiness when he forged fraternal bonds with Kim Il Sung, he said, stressing that the Kingdom of Cambodia has fully supported and will support the foreign policy and the patriotic and just policies for independently and peacefully reunifying the north and the south of Korea pursued by Kim Jong Il.

Rodong Sinmun on World Trend toward Multi-Polarization

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- The world is steadily heading for multi-polarization despite the U.S. moves to make the world uni-polar and it is an irresistible international trend for the world to become multi-polar. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a by-lined article.
    It continues: China and Russia and many other countries are exerting positive efforts to establish a new multi-polar world order.
    China and Russia are directing big efforts to cooperation in the military field to this end.
    A typical example of this was the fact that the armies of the two countries staged the large-scale joint military exercise codenamed "Peace Mission-2005" in August last year. Russia and China together with India are paying attention to building a new multi-polar world. For instance, last year witnessed the 4th talks of the foreign ministers of those countries in Vladivostok. The foreign ministers re-clarified the stance that they support the establishment of a fair world order based on the democratization and multi-polarization of the international relations. The cooperation between Russia and India is growing stronger.
    As already reported, at the end of the 1990s Russia proposed the formation of a joint front by Russia, China and India to cope with the U.S. plan for the expansion of the NATO and the U.S. Missile Defense system. It is now believed to be at the stage of its realization.
    The EU is also stepping up its moves to contain the U.S. high-handed and arbitrary practices and create its own forces for collective defence in a bid to strengthen its position and increase its influence as an independent polar.
    What is noteworthy in the moves for a multi-polar world is the developing countries. Now the developing countries hold a collective position to reckon with in the international arena and play a big role in promoting the multi-polarization of the world. The alliance among developing countries and their integrated regions are strongly opposed to the U.S. imperialists' moves for world domination and contain the U.S. moves for uni-polar world.
    The significance of the trend towards a multi-polar world lies in that it has significantly weakened the position of the U.S. imperialists as the "only super power" and created an environment favorable for the development of the impartial international relations.
    Its significance also lies in that this trend keeps any specified forces from unilaterally dominating the world.
    The above-said trend is, in the final analysis, helpful to building a new fair international order and promoting the cause of global independence. No force on earth can stem the trend towards a multi-poplar world.

Brilliant Realization of Long-cherished Desire of Peasants for Land

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- Sixty years have elapsed since the Agrarian Reform Law was promulgated in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The entire agricultural working people of the country are taking this opportunity to look back, with deep emotion, on the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, who carried out the agrarian revolution in his thirties. After the national liberation, the President advanced the land reform as the primary task of the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution and wisely led the implementation of the task. He made public the decision on the land issue indicating the basic orientation of the agrarian reform at the first Enlarged Executive Committee Meeting of the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party of North Korea in October Juche 34(1945). And then he visited Taedong County, South Phyongan Province, and various other local areas and met peasants to acquaint himself with what amount of tenanted land they cultivated and how they would do farming after land distribution. In this course he confirmed the objects of land confiscation, methods of confiscation and distribution, the way for liquidating the tenant system and so on to suit the actual conditions of the countryside.
    Meanwhile, he pushed ahead with the work of raising the political consciousness and class awakening among the peasants, who were in direct charge of the land reform, through various activities including the struggle for the three-to-seven system of tenancy.
    Having created all preconditions favorable for the land reform, he promulgated the historic Law on Land Reform in North Korea on March 5, 1946. The land reform was carried out in a matter of 20 days, after the proclamation of the law.
    As a result, more than a million hectares of land owned by Japanese imperialists, pro-Japanese elements, traitors to the nation and landlords were confiscated without compensation to be distributed to over 720,000 landless or land-poor peasant households free of charge.
    The feudal relations of ownership and exploiting system were totally liquidated in the rural communities of the country once and for all and the peasants became genuine master of the land.
    The land, the question of which was solved by the President, has been rezoned into large-sized standardized fields under the leadership of Kim Jong Il in the Songun era.

China's Principled Stand Supported

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- The Korean people are extending positive support and firm solidarity with the Chinese people in their efforts to achieve the complete reunification of the country, strongly opposed to "independence of Taiwan". Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes this in a signed commentary. The Korean people remain unshakable in their stand of opposing the anti-reunification moves of the secessionist forces advocating "independence of Taiwan" and supporting the just cause of the Chinese people, the commentary notes.
    Recalling that the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China issued a statement on Feb. 28 condemning those secessionists for escalating their moves against reunification after Chen Shui-Bian, "president" of Taiwan, declared the cease of the function of the "National Unification Council" and the application of the "National Unification Guidelines", it goes on:
    It is well-known to everyone that the Chinese party and government have made tireless and sincere efforts to get Taiwan, part of the inalienable territory of China, returned to the mainland of China and thus achieve the reunification of the whole country in keeping with the aspiration and desire of the cross-straits people for the reunification of the country and this is commanding understanding and sympathy from the international community.
    The Taiwan secessionists took the above-mentioned step with a sinister political aim to step up their campaign for the "independence of Taiwan" at a time when the cross-straits relations are favorably developing and a favorable circumstance is being created for the Chinese people's cause of national reunification thanks to the initiative and sincere efforts of the Chinese party and government. This is a criminal move intended to chill the desire to develop the cross-straits relations and disturb peace and stability in this region and a grave challenge to the desire and efforts of the Chinese people to achieve the reunification of the country.
    The Chinese people's cause of national reunification is just and it is, therefore, sure to be accomplished thanks to the positive struggle and efforts of the Chinese party, government and people.

Natfl Meeting Observes Diamond Jubilee of Promulgation of Agrarian Reform Law

     Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- A national meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's promulgation of the historic Agrarian Reform Law took place at the People's Palace of Culture on Saturday. Kim Il Sung laid down the basic principle of letting the peasants become owners of land under the slogan of "Land to the Tillers" after the liberation of Korea on the basis of the Juche-oriented programme for the agrarian reform and practical experience gained in the crucible of the anti-Japanese revolution and guided a preparatory work to carry out the land reform before all the democratic reforms. On this basis he promulgated the historic Agrarian Reform Law on March 5, Juche 35 (1946). Present at the meeting were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Jon Pyong Ho and Ri Yong Mu and other officials.
    Yang Hyong Sop, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, made a report at the meeting.
    The reporter said that the "Law on Agrarian Reform in North Korea" personally worked out and promulgated by Kim Il Sung is a Juche-oriented programme for the agrarian revolution as it provided the most correct guidelines for the solution of the agrarian issue at the stage of the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution and a code on land that freed the peasants from the feudal bondage, enabling the peasants to become owners of land, and paved a wide avenue for building a new society. Over the last six decades since the historic agrarian reform a revolutionary change unprecedented in the nation's history has taken place in the rural areas of the DPRK and the Korean people's cause of socialist construction has made giant progress under the wise leadership of the Party and the leader, he noted, and went on: The Juche-oriented cause of socialist rural construction started by Kim Il Sung has been firmly defended and successfully carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il. 60 years since the historic agrarian reform represent a glorious history in which the outstanding idea and unique policy on the socialist rural construction set out by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il have been embodied to bring about epoch-making changes in the rural areas.

Retaked Monument to Victory Battle

     Tokyo, March 5 (KNS) -- As the Korean Central News Agency reported , a ceremony of handing over the monument to the victory in the battle in the northern area of Korea took place March 1 at the Kaesong Koryo Museum.
    The monument has a record of the historical facts that the Korean volunteer army defeated the Japanese intruders into the area of Hamgyong Province of Korea in the period of the Imjin Patriotic War (1592-1598).
    When the Japanese aggression army invaded Korea 1904 under the pretext of Russo-Japanese war, Ikeda, commanding officer of the army, saw the monument standing in Rimmyongyok (now Kim Chaek City) of North Hamgyong Province in 1905. Kim Jong Il dirige nuevas instalaciones de cabecera de Samjiyon

    @Pyongyang, 4 de marzo (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Secretario General del Partido del Trabajo de Corea y Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, dirigio sobre el terreno las instalaciones culturales, deportivas y de servicio gastronomico, construidas nuevamente en la cabeza distrital de Samjiyon. Ante todo, visito de orientacion el Palacio de Ninos Escolares de Samjiyon. Este edificio tiene una superficie construida total de mas de 7 mil 700 metros cuadrados y dispone de las salas para todas las actividades de grupos, un teatro con capacidad de cabida de cientos de personas y un gimnasio capaz de realizar varias competencias deportivas.
    El Dirigente recorrio el interior y el exterior del citado palacio para hacer conocimientos de la construccion y la gestion.
    El palacio de ninos escolares es un importante lugar educacional que contribuira a formar a los ninos como dignos trabajadores del pais con ricos conocimientos, nobles virtudes y buena salud. Por eso debemos acondicionarlo bien para dar ensenanzas con fines determinados y gestionarlo de manera efectiva, dijo el Dirigente e indico las tareas y medios para el respecto.
    El Dirigente dirigio la casa de la cultura del distrito Samjiyon. Esta casa, bien disenada y construida en nivel supremo, facilita ofrecer funciones y actividades artisticas, dijo y evaluo de altos los meritos de los constructores quienes terminaron exitosamente en menos de un ano la magna obra de edificacion. Al enterarse de que en esta casa se realizan diversas actividades culturales para asegurar una vida cultural satisfactoria a los trabajadores, se mostro muy alegre y subrayo la necesidad de regularizar la administracion de la casa de la cultura para satisfacer la creciente demanda cultural de los habitantes.
    El Dirigente hizo visita de orientacion a la villa deportiva en la zona del monte Paektu, formada en el terreno extenso al pie del pico Pegae. @Es una base deportiva moderna y combinada para la estacion invernal, que dispone de los estadios para el patinaje, esqui, jockey sobre hielo, etc., los albergues de los deportistas e instalaciones de cultura y de servicio publico.
    El Dirigente contemplo en el mirador el patinadero, la pista de esqui iniciada de la cima del pico Pegae, el trampolin, los albergues en filas por entre las selvas y las instalaciones culturales y de servicio publico para enterarse en detalle del estado de la construccion y de los equipos.
    Se mostro muy satisfecho del diseno magno de esta villa deportiva y de las condiciones comodas para las actividades deportivas y la vida de los jugadores y evaluo altamente a los constructores por haber edificado magnificamente dicha villa. Aunque sea construida una vivienda es preciso construirla conforme a la demanda del nuevo siglo y heredarla a las generaciones venideras, senalo el Dirigente y anadio que para ese fin, es necesario construir todos los edificios en el nivel supremo conforme al gusto de la epoca del Partido del Trabajo.
    Al hacer conocimiento del estado del campeonato nacional de patinaje por "Premio Paektusan" que tiene lugar en el estadio de patinaje, aprecio a los jugadores quienes se afanan para hacer brillar el honor de la patria y subrayo la necesidad de popularizar las actividades deportivas para formar a todos los jovenes y ninos listos para el trabajo y la defensa nacional.
    El Dirigente visito el restaurante de fideos de Pegaebong, construida nuevamente. Este edificio tiene buena forma arquitectural y alto nivel de construccion, dijo y aprecio los meritos de los constructores quienes prepararon otro nuevo obsequio magnifico para el pueblo.
    Dado que nuestro pais es la sociedad socialista centrada en las masas populares en que el pueblo trabajador se hace dueno de todo, todas las actividades deben obedecerles, subrayo el Dirigente y apunto la necesidad de prestar atencion primordial al servicio a los trabajadores.
    Acto seguido, el Dirigente contemplo la cabeza distrital de Samjiyon que cambio completamente de su fisonomia.
    Al admirar el paisaje pintoresco formado por los establecimientos culturales y de servicio publico y las viviendas, construidos con formas tipicas en la selva del monte Paektu, parques apropiados a la zona montanosa y otros edificios distintivos, se alegro mucho de que Samjiyon ha cambiado de su fisonomia en unos anos. En la zona del monte Paektu incluso el distrito de Samjiyon existen muchos lugares historicos de combates revolucionarios que son importantes centros de la educacion en las tradiciones revolucionarias, senalo y anadio que acondicionar bien los alrededores de tales lugares historicos es una labor sagrada para defender y heredar las tradiciones revolucionarias, patrimonio de eterna duracion de la revolucion. Deben acondicionar bien las instalaciones culturales y de servicio publico, porque la zona del monte Paektu, gran museo al aire libre, la recorren muchos peregrinos, senalo y subrayo la necesidad de promover la construccion necesaria para ese fin. Para acondicionar de manera particular los lugares historicos de combates revolucionarios es necesario hacer con vistas al futuro el diseno urbano y, al mismo tiempo, construir todos los edificios de acuerdo con las peculiaridades zonales, destaco el Dirigente.
    Al hacer hincapie en la necesidad de conservar la fisonomia orgullosa de la cabeza distrital de Samjiyon acondicionada magnificamente, apunto que se debe prestar profunda atencion al arreglo y gestion de los edificios monumentales existentes y traer constante mejora cualitativa en las actividades de servicio y de administracion. Le acompanaron el primer subjefe y el subjefe de departamento del CC del PTC Ri Jae Il y Hwang Pyong So.

Pueblo coreano se opone a la "independencia de Taiwan"

    @Pyongyang, 4 de marzo (ATCC) -- El pueblo coreano se opone a la "independencia de Taiwan" y envia irrestricto apoyo y solidaridad a los esfuerzos de China por lograr la reintegracion completa de la patria. Senala asi el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual insertado en su edicion del dia 4 y prosigue:
    El pueblo coreano mantiene invariablemente la posicion de oponerse a las maquinaciones anti-reunificacion de las fuerzas separatistas que abogan por la "independencia de Taiwan" y de apoyar la causa justa del pueblo chino. En relacion con que el "presidente" de Taiwan declaro suspender la gestion del "comite por la reunificacion estatal" y la ejecucion del "programa para la reunificacion estatal", la Oficina de Asuntos de Taiwan del CC del Partido Comunista de China y la de misma mision del Consejo de Estado publicaron el pasado 28 de febrero una declaracion en contra de las maquinaciones anti-reunificacion de las fuerzas separatistas por la "independencia de Taiwan".
    Ya es conocido bien el que el partido y el gobierno de China han hecho sinceros esfuerzos por revertir Taiwan, territorio inseparable de la patria, de acuerdo con la aspiracion a la reintegracion territorial del pais de los habitantes de ambas riberas del Estrecho de Taiwan, y lograr la reunificacion territorial de todo el pais. Tales esfuerzos gozan de la comprension y la simpatia de la sociedad internacional. En estos momentos en que por los esfuerzos iniciativos y sinceros del partido y el gobierno de China se desarrollan favorablemente las relaciones entre ambas partes del Estrecho de Taiwan y se crea una situacion favorable a la causa de la reunificacion de la patria del pueblo chino, las fuerzas separatistas para la "independencia de Taiwan" decidieron suspender la gestion del "comite por la reunificacion estatal" y la ejecucion del "programa para la reunificacion estatal", bajo el malsano designio politico de dar acicate a sus maquinaciones para el logro de la "independencia de Taiwan". Esto es un complot criminal para congelar las relaciones entre ambas partes del Estrecho de Taiwan y perturbar la paz y la estabilidad en esta region y un grave desafio a la aspiracion y los esfuerzos de los chinos por la reunificacion. La causa de la reintegracion de la patria del pueblo chino es justa y sera realizada sin falta por la lucha y los esfuerzos activos del partido, el gobierno y el pueblo de China.

Terminada tercera ronda de conversaciones militares N-S de Corea

    @Phanmunjom, 3 de marzo (ATCC) -- Quedo cerrada el dia 3 la tercera ronda de conversaciones militares a nivel de general entre el Norte y el Sur de Corea, iniciada el dia 2 en el "Pabellon Thong-il" en la parte Norte de Phanmunjom. Tambien en las conversaciones del dia 2 la parte Norte mantuvo las invariables posiciones de principios que deben ser observadas en el debate de los puntos de la agenda y mostro actitud sincera en el debate de los problemas abordados. El jefe de la parte Norte se refirio a los puntos comunes y diferentes entre ambas partes, aparecidos en el proceso de las conversaciones basandose en el detallado analisis de estos.
    El punto comun es que ambas partes llegaron a la identidad de criterios de que deben esforzarse en comun por prevenir nuevo choque en las aguas del mar Oeste de Corea y realizar la pesca conjunta en el principio de promover la coprosperidad e interes mutuo para que se impida la pesca ilegal de los barcos de terceros paises y se defiendan los intereses nacionales.
    El jefe de la parte Norte se refirio a los puntos de diferencia: Primero, la parte Norte insistio en eliminar la causa raigal que pueda causar el conflicto en las aguas del mar Oeste, pero la parte Sur sostuvo en tomar algunas medidas de confianza.
    Segundo, la parte Norte insistio en hacer en cero todas las insistencias de ambas partes que en el pasado habian causado conflictos y buscar nuevo medio de solucion, pero, la parte Sur expuso invariablemente su vieja insistencia parcial en varios aspectos. Tercero, la parte Norte insistio en discutir simultaneamente el problema de establecimiento del area de pesca conjunta y el de determinacion de la linea de demarcacion militar en aguas del mar Oeste en la forma de discusion del problema, pero, la parte Sur insistio en establecer solamente el area de pesca conjunta. Cuarto, la parte Norte insistio en poner fin a todos los ejercicios de guerra incluyendo el ejercicio conjunto militar con EE.UU. para eliminar el estado de confrontacion militar en la Peninsula Coreana, pero, la parte Sur trato de seguir a toda costa los ejercicios militares describiendolos de caracter "defensivo".
    El jefe de la parte Norte dijo que tales diferencias hacen abrigar la duda de que la parte Sur persiga algun malsano proposito manteniendo el estado actual y ponen en peligro la perspectiva de las conversaciones a nivel de general N-S preparadas al cabo de tantos esfuerzos.
    Si de veras la parte Sur esta dispuesta a eliminar el estado de tension de la Peninsula Coreana y poner fin a la confrontacion, debe abandonar con audacia cuanto antes su vieja concepcion y coordinar los pasos con la gran marcha nacional por la reunificacion, subrayo.
    Ambas partes acordaron seguir discutiendo en las proximas conversaciones los problemas concernientes a los puntos de la agenda presentados.
