Inter-Korean Workers Meeting Vows to Spearhead Patriotic Movement for Reunification

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- A joint press release was published at the meeting of representatives of workers in the north and south of Korea for implementing the June 15 joint declaration in Kaesong on Tuesday. According to it, a meeting of representatives of workers of the north and the south for implementing the June 15 joint declaration was held by the Workers' Sub-Committee of the North Side's Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the Workers Headquarters of the South Side's Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in Kaesong on March 14, 2006.
    At the meeting the organizations of workers of the north and the south vowed to take the lead in the patriotic movement for reunification to achieve national independence, peace and the great national unity by the concerted efforts of the Koreans in the basic spirit of the joint declaration.
    They agreed to increase their role so as to develop the June 15 Joint National Committee into a nationwide solidarity organization for the reunification movement both in name and reality.
    They also agreed to boost solidarity and cooperation among them as required by the June 15 era of reunification and have all contacts and functions in the direction of bringing about a new phase of national reunification this year.

Functions Held in Democratic Congo

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- A special lecture was given at University in Kinshasa of Democratic Congo on Mar. 1 and a seminar was held at a vocational training school in the same country on Mar. 6 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun and the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and the 74th anniversary of the founding of the heroic Korean People's Army. Bele Mukeleng, chairman of the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of University of Kinshasa, gave a lecture titled "On the ideological and theoretical basis of the Songun idea" in which he explained in detail the glorious revolutionary history of President Kim Il Sung and the undying exploits of Kim Jong Il who has trained the KPA into an invincible army and the main force of the Songun revolution and brought about the greatest success in the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation. It is thanks to the Songun idea that the Juche idea is displaying ever greater might, he noted, adding that the Songun idea serves as great guidelines in the present times. Nzemba Yangana, chairman of the Youth Group for the Study of the Juche Idea in Democratic Congo, noted in his speech titled "The Juche idea is an immortal idea having ever-lasting vitality" that the Juche idea is an idea which calls for solving all problems arising in the revolution and construction by oneself in conformity with the actual conditions of one's country and a genuine patriotic idea that requires firmly defending independence of the country and the nation.
    The Juche idea serves as an ever-lasting guiding idea for mankind as it powerfully encourages the progressive people in their struggle to carve out their destiny and transform the world, he stressed.

March Issue of Newspaper "The Juche Idea" Published

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The National Liaison Council of the Japan Society for the Study of Kim Jong Il's Works brought out the March issue of its newspaper "The Juche Idea". The newspaper carried a photo-accompanied account of an "Okinawa meeting to advance guided by Juche idea." It also quoted an honorary professor of Okinawa University as asserting at the meeting that the people of Okinawa should decide the fate of Okinawa and to this end they should achieve independence of Japan, guided by the Juche idea.
    Carrying a report about the visit of a Japanese delegation for the study of the Juche idea to the DPRK on the occasion of the February holiday and a photo-accompanied account of the DPRK-Japan inter-governmental talks, the newspaper urged the Japanese government not to read the face of the U.S. but opt for normalizing the relations with the DPRK as early as possible.
    It also carried a photo-accompanied account of a conference of the Japanese Society for the Study of Kimilsungism held in Okinawa.

Halt to Negotiations for Conclusion of FTA Demanded in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Should the south Korean authorities sign FTA with the U.S., the production of medicines, etc. in south Korea will be restricted by the pharmaceutical companies of the U.S., which will immediately lead to skyrocketing prices of medicines. Twelve health organizations including the Pharmacists Association for a Healthy Society said this at a news conference held on Mar. 9 in Seoul demanding an immediate halt to the negotiations for the conclusion of FTA.
    They warned that the signing of FTA would lead to the commercialization of the health system to widen the gap between the rich and the poor and aggravate social antagonism, the south Korean KBS said.

Reception Given at DPRK Embassy in Havana

     Havana, March 12 (KCNA) -- A reception was given at the DPRK embassy in Havana on Mar. 10 to mark the 20th anniversary of the DPRK visit by Fidel Castro Ruz, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, president of the Council of State and president of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba. Present there on invitation were officials of the party, state and army including Fernando Ramirez, head of the International Department of the C.C., the Communist Party of Cuba, and Raul Valdes Vivo, director of the Cuban higher party school who are members of the Party Central Committee, Marcos Rodriguez, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Pedro Mendiond Gomez, commander of the Air and Anti-Aircraft Defense Forces of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Buenaventura Reyes, vice-president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, and Juan Jose Leon Vega, chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification.
    On hand were DPRK Ambassador Pak Tong Chun and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Havana.

Anniversary of Arboretum of KMP Observed

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The Arboretum of the Kumsusan Memorial Palace observed its 10th anniversary. The arboretum was established on March 13, Juche 85 (1996) in accordance with the noble intention of leader Kim Jong Il to build the palace where President Kim Il Sung lies in state as the supreme temple of Juche and the unanimous desire of all people. Over the last decade servicepersons of the People's Army and working people and schoolchildren from different parts of the country have planted and tended with care tens of thousands of tall trees, flowers and shrubs of hundreds of good species in the vast area around the palace.
    The arboretum is home to a variety of rare trees, flowers and shrubs sent to it by different countries.
    A meeting to mark the 10th anniversary of the arboretum took place on Mar. 13. Pak Song Nam, minister of Land and Environment Preservation, said in a report that Kim Jong Il, after unrolling a new history of the cause of perpetuating the memory of the President, initiated the building of the arboretum suited to the nature of the supreme temple of Juche, personally chose its site and wisely led the construction project.
    The reporter called on all officials and other working people to keep the arboretum in better shape and bring a fresh turn in the work to turn the whole country into a thick woodland and greenery.

Suppression under NSL Denounced

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The Joint Measure Committee for the Abolition of the National Security Law, Defence of Academic Freedom and Opposition to Persecution of Prof. Kang Jong Gu involving 130 civic and social organizations of south Korea called a news conference in front of the building of the Seoul Central District Court on Mar. 10. Recalling that Kang Jong Gu, professor of Dongguk University, was brought to trial on the charge of violation of the “National Security Law” for the mere reason that he had made public in a peaceful manner the results of his researches as dictated by his conscience as a scholar, the committee said this ran counter to the international convention on human rights and the basic principles of democracy. It demanded the judicial authorities immediately stop the trial. The press release made public at the end of the news conference noted that south Korea was now shamefully stigmatized as a backward society in human rights and society of human rights abuses internationally owing to the conservative forces and demanded the authorities abolish the NSL, ensure academic freedom and stop the persecution of the professor.

U.S. Anti-DPRK Smear Campaign under Fire

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The U.S. State Department in an "annual report on human rights" on March 8 malignantly slandered the DPRK as a country with poorest human rights record as it shows no improvement. Earlier Bush, Rice and other high-ranking politicians of the U.S. administration raised a hue and cry over the human rights situation in the DPRK. In this regard, a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry in a statement on March 13 said that the U.S. has no right to say about someone's human rights as it is the worst human rights abuser and the biggest tundra of human rights. Noting that the American society is a typical unpopular society where even elementary right of the people to existence is wantonly abused, the statement continued: The human rights situation in the U.S. has gone from bad to worse since Bush came to power.
    The Bush group illegally occupied Iraq defying the UN, international law and the world public opinion to mercilessly massacre innocent civilians and turn Iraq into a sea of blood caused by a civil war.
    After attacking Iraq under the pretext of preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD)" the U.S. used not only WMD including depleted uranium shells but white phosphorus shells belonging to chemical weapons. The Bush administration issued a formal instruction for changing the interpretation of the Geneva Convention which strictly restricts the interrogation methods and approving more strict interrogation methods. It openly committed such horrendous atrocities as torturing undressed prisoners in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo. The CIA set up and operated even secret prisons in Europe and different countries to harshly maltreat and punish prisoners after working out rules for its overseas prisons with the permission of the administration.
    This being a hard reality, the U.S. claims to be a "protector of human rights", raising a hue and cry over the human rights. This is a grave insult to the fair world public opinion. The U.S. loudmouthed "human rights" is a blatant interference in the internal affairs of the DPRK by the Bush administration, which, prompted by inveterate bitterness toward it, seeks to achieve a sinister political purpose to isolate and stifle it. The escalated human rights offensive of the U.S. and hostile forces against the DPRK would only compel it to take every possible measure to defend sovereignty under the uplifted banner of Songun, firmly convinced of truth that human rights precisely mean sovereignty.

U.S. Warhawks' Anti-DPRK Malarkey under Fire

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The commander of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces in south Korea at a hearing of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee some time ago blustered that the military capacity of the DPRK poses a constant threat to the security of south Korea and other U.S. allies and Northeast Asia, talking about "nuclear program" and "conventional weapons." Dismissing this as shameless sophism to justify the military occupation of south Korea by the U.S. forces and its moves to provoke a war of aggression against the north, a Rodong Sinmun analyst Tuesday brands this as an intolerable provocation against the north.
    The U.S. imperialists are past masters in fabricating lies to launch military invasion of other countries and nations, he notes, and goes on:
    At this very moment the U.S. imperialist warhawks are raising a frantic racket over military threat from the DPRK after deliberately throwing a hurdle in the way of the six-party talks for settling the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. by faking up a fictitious "counterfeit note issue" of the north. They openly announced that they would stage RSOI and Foal Eagle exercises, a replica of "Team Spirit" joint military exercises, which are a test nuclear war for the invasion of the north, from March 25, thus gravely threatening the Koreans desirous of peace and reunification. The outcries over "military threat" from the north raised by the U.S. imperialists are nothing but a doctrine of a war against the north.
    If the U.S. imperialist warhawks venture a war on this land, the Korean army and people will fully exercise the deterrent for self-defense they have built under the banner of Songun and give vent to their enmity toward the U.S. so as to sternly punish the aggressors.

Day of Buddha's Nirvana Observed

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Masses took place at different temples of the DPRK on March 14 to mark the Day of Buddha's Nirvana in 2550 B. E. (Buddhist Era). They were attended by office bearers of the Central Committee of the Korean Buddhist Federation and its provincial, city and county committees, priests and chief priests of relevant temples and Buddhists. A ritual for the occasion was followed by sermons and speeches.
    The speakers said they were holding masses to mark the Day of Buddha's Nirvana at a time when all the people of the country are out as one in the dynamic drive for achieving national reunification and building a great prosperous powerful nation. They called upon all the Buddhists in the north and the south and overseas to unite in the Nirvana-minded concord to take the lead in the patriotic movement for independent reunification, peace against war and great national unity under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself" this year in order to build a rich and powerful reunified nation.

Spring Tree-Planting at Full Swing

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The spring tree-planting is at full swing in the DPRK. The Ministry of Land and Environment Conservation has worked out an ambitious plan for the month of spring tree-planting and is dynamically pushing ahead with it. In response to the instructions of Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il that the servicepersons should stand in the van of covering the whole country with forests and gardens, they are planting and tending a lot of saplings of good species in the barrack compounds and stationing places.
    The working people have turned out in the spring tree-planting campaign with a high degree of patriotism.
    In Sukchon County of South Phyongan Province, Anbyon County of Kangwon Province, Jongphyong County of South Hamgyong Province and all other cities and counties of the country, people of all strata are exerting efforts to creating forests of fiber-bearing, firewood, oil-bearing and fruit-bearing trees suitable to the climate of their areas. The campaign is being conducted with main emphasis on creating forests and gardens in the revolutionary sites and areas along highways and around industrial establishments.
    Each city and county in the country has newly arranged 20-60 hectares of nursery fields.
    In Yonthan County, North Hwanghae Province honored with the "model county in the protection of land and environment", alone, more than 203,400 trees were planted on the very tree-planting day (March 2).
    A campaign for creating youth forests and Children's Union forests is vigorously launched among schoolchildren and youth.
    March and October have been set as months of tree-planting in the country. The recent years have witnessed many successes made in the creation of forests through the vigorous campaign for turning the whole country into forests and gardens. Trees of good species including pine-nut, larch, acacia, Evodia Daniellii Benn and large chest-nut trees were planted in over 100,000 hectares of areas throughout the country last year.

Powerful Assistance to Countryside

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- A brisk campaign for rendering assistance to the countryside is being conducted in the DPRK. The ministries and national institutions stand in the van of the campaign in response to the joint New Year editorial calling for mobilizing and concentrating all the efforts to agriculture. They have sent a lot of farming materials including some 1,200 pieces in 28 kinds of tractor accessories and 79,900-odd pieces in 20 kinds of medium and small-sized farming implements and more than 24,400 tons of manure to rural communities.
    Officials of the Ministry of Food Procurement and Administration went out to the Sinhung Co-op Farm in Jungsan County, South Phyongan Province, and dug up over 1,000 tons of peat to carpet fields.
    And those of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications and the Ministry of Machine-Building Industries acquainted themselves with farming preparations in relevant farms and provided them with the materials needed. Cities and counties of North Phyongan Province, who had already carried more than 955,000 tons of compost to co-op farms, have continued to help farmers increase fertility of paddy and non-paddy fields in the province with the resolution to yield a bumper crop this year.
    Cities, counties and industrial establishments in North Hamgyong Province have tapped the inner reserves to render assistance, moral and material, to the countryside. People in Musan County sent the farming materials including over 20 kinds of medium and small-sized farming implements to farms, energetically inspiring agricultural working people.
    Working people in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province, have provided several ten- thousand tons of compost and 12,000-odd pieces of farming implements to various co-op farms. Working people in Jagang Province and other provinces are all out in a similar campaign.

KCNA Discloses True Colors of Japan's Distortion of History

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Japan has decided to use the "new history textbook" from 2006. Compiled in the textbook is a great part of the Korean history extremely distorted by reptile historians in the past. As already known, the Japanese imperialists who illegally occupied Korea in the early 20th century unscrupulously distorted the Korean history in an attempt to justify their colonial domination and obliterate the national spirit of the Korean people. Typical of the distortion are the reactionary doctrines on "four vassal regions under the Han Dynasty" and "Mimana Miyake" claiming that Korea had been subjected to other countries historically.
    Wudi, king of the Han Dynasty, that is, ruined Kojoson (ancient Korea) in 108 B.C., built Rakrang region, one of the four tributary regions under the Han Dynasty in the northwestern area of Korea around Pyongyang and "Mimana Miyake", a ruling machinery of the "Yamato Dynasty" of Japan, governed the area south of the River Han for several hundreds of years.
    Such sophism of reptile historians was disputed by the historical circles of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea after Korea's liberation. It is not on the Korean peninsula but in the Liaodong area that the "four vassal regions under the Han Dynasty" were built.
    According to the "History of the Three Kingdoms--Koguryo, Paekje and Silla", 30,000 soldiers of Koguryo attacked Hyondo region of the Qin Dynasty in the year of 302 and captured and escorted more than 8,000 men to Pyongyang. The Koguryo army also defeated Rakrang region in Liaodong in 313 and 314 and routed even the Hyondo region to the Liaoxi area in 318 to seize the region.
    The "Mimana Miyake", which was mentioned only in "Nihonshoki" (old records of Japanese history), was not a colonial ruling organ of Japan set up in Kaya area of Korea but a provisional administrative organ of the Yamato State in a Korean lineage small state formed in the Kibi area of west Japan (the area of Okayama Prefecture), before a unified state was formed in Japan.
    This time, however, Japan came out again with the doctrines, the falsity of which has long been brought to light, in an attempt to legalize its past aggression of Korea and its wild ambition to stage a comeback to Korea.

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Bashir Ramadan Khalifa Abu Janah, secretary of the People's Bureau of Libya to the DPRK, hosted a reception at the Taedonggang Club for the Diplomatic Corps on Mar. 13 on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the proclamation of Jamahiriya. Present there on invitation were Rim Kyong Man, minister of Foreign Trade, Mun Jae Chol, acting chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Kim Hyong Jun, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and other officials concerned.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Observed

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's work "On Having Correct Understanding of Nationalism" is a programmatic work which indicates a clear way for all the countries and nations to frustrate maneuvers of the imperialists for national obliteration and estrangement among nations and defend national independence, says Rodong Sinmun in a signed article today. It goes on:
    True nationalism is immediately patriotism today when people live and shape their destiny with their national states as units.
    Nationalism is an idea of national independence for defending the sovereignty of the country and the nation from the aggressive moves of the U.S. imperialists. Now the U.S. imperialists are resorting to crafty tactics to arrest the independent development of nations and achieve their ambition for domination. They claim that the idea of building an independent national state and patriotism are “national prejudice behind the times” and "globalization" and "integration" are the trend of the times under the present-day condition where science and technology are making fast progress and economic exchanges among countries are brisk on the global scale. Preposterous is the cry for the “integration” of the world involving politics, economy, ideology and culture today when each country and each nation are shaping their destinies with their own idea, system and culture.
    Nationalism is a patriotic idea of achieving the prosperity of the nation by its own efforts, opposing dependence on foreign forces.
    The U.S. imperialists are presenting a distorted picture of the realities, claiming that they are bringing economic revival to different countries and nations with what they call "prescription” and "aid". The "prescription" they are advertising is not a "panacea" for the rejuvenation of other's national economy and promotion of national reconciliation but a camouflage for covering up their aggressive and depredatory nature. Everyone should be a true nationalist before being a revolutionary and there is no revolutionary away from his nation. Rodong Sinmun on Three Charters of National Reunification

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- "Let us firmly stand by the three charters for national reunification, and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country by dint of the concerted efforts of the whole nation!" laid down in the joint slogans issued by the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the WPK represents the revolutionary faith and will of the Party and the Korean people to successfully realize the behests of President Kim Il Sung on national reunification, says Rodong Sinmun in an article Tuesday. The author of the article goes on:
    The three principles of national reunification, the ten-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo put forward by Kim Il Sung are an immortal programme of reunification which the Korean nation should implement up to the hilt in accomplishing the cause of national reunification as they are the three charters for national reunification which give an integral systemization and consummation of the basic principles and ways of national reunification.
    The three charters for national reunification are run through with the spirit of national independence regarding the nation's sovereignty and dignity as its life and soul. The basic idea and the hard core of the three charters are the spirit of national independence.
    They indicate the most fair and reasonable way of achieving the reunification of the country at the earliest date possible in conformity with the realistic conditions of Korea in which differing ideas and systems have existed for a long time in the north and the south.
    They stipulate that Korea should be reunified in the manner of founding a national reunified state by the formula of federation based on one nation and one state, two systems and two governments, proceeding from the urgent demand of the nation and the realities of the country.
    Leader Kim Jong Il formulated the three principles of national reunification, the ten-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo as the three charters for national reunification, thus opening a broad avenue for the Korean nation to successfully accomplish the cause of national reunification, true to the behests of Kim Il Sung.

Poor Farce of Japanese Ultra-Right Conservatives Flailed

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Recently the ultra-right conservatives of Japan called a meeting of the "special team for the solution to the abduction issue" at the prime minister's residence, at which they stressed the need to intensify information activities and get "support from the world" for the "settlement of the issue". They also called for publishing a booklet on the issue in different languages and distributing its copies among other countries. Then they arranged a press conference as regards the above-said meeting. Commenting on such row kicked up at the tacit connivance of the authorities and under their patronage, newspapers here today term it a despicable and poor charade staged as part of the U.S. anti-DPRK smear campaign.
    To repeat, like a parrot, just what the U.S. claims is an inveterate habit of the Japanese reactionary forces toeing the U.S. line, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on: It is the height of folly for Japan to evade its responsibility to redress its crime-woven past by using the "abduction issue" as a smoke-screen.
    As far as the abduction issue is concerned, it is an important matter for which we should take Japan to task. Had Japan felt guilty even in the least of the hideous crimes it committed against humanity in the past, and had an iota of willingness to repent of them, it would not have dared to deny and embellish them. The relations between the DPRK and Japan have not yet improved but deteriorated due to the wrong behavior of Japan persistently evading the settlement of the past.
    That is why Japan is censured as a politically and morally base country. If it persists in its efforts to evade the settlement of the past, it will stand further isolated internationally.
    Japan should be mindful of this and opt for liquidating its past at an early date.

Projected U.S.-South Korea Joint Military Exercises under Fire

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) --The south Korea-U.S. "Combined Forces Command" officially announced recently that it would stage large-scale joint military exercises from Mar. 25. Minju Joson Tuesday in a signed commentary terms the planned exercises premeditated criminal moves of the U.S. and the south Korean warhawks to push the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war and demands the U.S. roll back at once its plan to stage the war maneuvers to invade the DPRK. RSOI and Foal Eagle projected by the U.S. are nothing but a replica of "Team Spirit" joint military exercises, a dangerous test nuclear war against the DPRK, the news analyst observes, and goes on:
    By staging the exercises this year, too, the U.S. and south Korean warmongers seek to escalate the tension on the peninsula and push it to the brink of war and thus deter the north-south relations from improving under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and block the independent reunification of Korea.
    What merits a serious attention is that the south Korean warmongers are chiming in with the U.S. scheme for the invasion of the DPRK. It is clear that this year, too, they seek to stand in military confrontation with the north through war exercises. This is well illustrated by their timing of the joint military exercises with the U.S. By planning to stage this saber rattling at a time when the 18th north-south ministerial talks were in the offing they glaringly revealed that they want neither dialogue nor reunification.
    The south Korean authorities should behave with discretion, pondering over the grave consequences to be entailed by their involvement in the U.S. moves for a war of aggression against the DPRK.

SPA Chairman Meets British Ambassador

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- Choe Thae Bok, chairman of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, met with John Everard, British ambassador to the DPRK, at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Tuesday when the latter paid a courtesy call on him. Present at the meeting was Ri Jong Hyok, deputy to the SPA and chairman of the DPRK-British friendship parliamentary group.

KPA Panmunjom Mission Hits U.S.-S. Korea Joint Military Exercises

     Pyongyang, March 14 (KCNA) -- The Korean People's Army side makes it clear once again that it will never remain a passive onlooker to the U.S. preemptive attack on the DPRK. A spokesman for the KPA Panmunjom Mission warned this in a statement issued on Tuesday to denounce the U.S. plan to stage large-scale RSOI and "Foal Eagle" joint military exercises involving huge U.S. and south Korean troops throughout south Korea from Mar. 25.
    The statement said:
    The KPA side is of the view that a preemptive attack is not monopoly of the U.S. and the DPRK, too, has the right to preempt an attack as the most effective and positive act for self-defence in the light of the hard reality that the DPRK and the U.S. sides are still technically at war. It has already notified the UN of this stand. The U.S. redeployed its troops in and around the Korean Peninsula according to its new scenario for a war of aggression and perfected the operational plans through actual maneuvers. It has even "local eyewitnesses" who are ready to actively support and defend it in case it launches a war of aggression against the DPRK. We can not but take a serious note of the fact that the projected saber-rattling is timed to coincide with the racket the U.S. has kicked up to isolate and stifle the DPRK after spreading sheer lies about "counterfeit notes", "drug smuggling" and "human rights abuse" along with the fiction about the "proliferation of weapons of mass destruction" which it cited as a pretext for launching brigandish armed invasion of other countries. This behavior of the U.S. is a flagrant violation of the joint statement adopted at the six-party talks which stipulated that both sides shall solve issues on the principle of mutual respect and peaceful co-existence.
    No one can vouch that the RSOI and "Foal Eagle" to be staged involving huge troops and latest war means at a time when the distrust and confrontation between the DPRK and the U.S. are growing acute would not go over to an actual war. We are greatly enraged by the south Korean military authorities' decision to participate in the U.S-led exercises for a war of aggression against their fellow countrymen in gross breach of the June 15 spirit.
    The KPA will follow with a high degree of vigilance the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula due to the projected war maneuvers and keep itself fully ready to go into action to cope with any event on its own initiative.

CRPP denuncia ejercicios militares de EE.UU. y Sur de Corea

    　Pyongyang, 14 de marzo (ATCC) -- El vocero del Comite por la Reunificacion Pacifica de la Patria (CRPP) publico el dia 13 una declaracion en relacion con el anuncio oficial fechado 10 de la "comandancia de las fuerzas combinadas" Estados Unidos-Sur de Corea sobre la realizacion del 25 al 31 del "ejercicio conjunto de refuerzo en el tiempo de guerra" y el ejercicio movil al aire libre "Aguilucho" para introducir y desplegar con rapidez los efectivos norteamericanos de refuerzo en el tiempo de emergencia de la Peninsula Coreana. EE.UU. y las fuerzas belicosas surcoreanas, pese a la advertencia reiterada de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, la denuncia y rechazo unanimes del interior y exterior, intentan realizar el ejercicio conjunto militar de agresion al Norte de Corea de gran envergadura, senala la declaracion y prosigue:
    Esto deviene un acto criminal muy grave que lleva a la ruptura las relaciones N-S y lleva la situacion de la Peninsula Coreana al borde de la guerra. Esto prueba que el "dialogo" de que habla EE.UU. es un engano para inducir en error la opinion interna y externa y que este imperio persigue solo la confrontacion y la guerra. No podemos menos que cuestionar el provocativo ejercicio belico de agresion al Norte que a pesar de la reiterada insistencia de la RPDC, EE.UU. va a librar en visperas de la decima octava ronda de conversaciones a nivel de ministro N-S. EE.UU. y las fuerzas belicosas surcoreanas deben tener presente de que el presente alboroto belico de agresion al Norte entenebrece la perspectiva de la solucion pacifica del problema nuclear y de las conversaciones a 6 bandas y lleva a una fase gravisima las relaciones N-S.
    Responder a la fuerza con la fuerza, a la provocacion con el despiadado golpe demoledor es el temperamento y decision de nuestro ejercito y pueblo que enarbolan la bandera del Songun (priorizacion militar).
    EE.UU. debe reflexionar de la grave consecuencia que emane de sus maniobras belicas anti-RPDC y abandonar de inmediato el peligrosisimo alboroto de guerra de agresion a esta.
    Advertimos a las fuerzas belicosas surcoreanas que se incorporan al presente simulacro norteamericano de agresion al Norte.

Vocero del MINREX condena el alboroto de "DDHH" de EE.UU.

     Pyongyang, 14 de marzo (ATCC) -- En un "informe anual sobre los derechos humanos" publicado el dia 8, el Departamento de Estado norteamericano censuro la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea como un "pais en que la violacion a DDHH es gravisima y duradera". Con anterioridad, Bush, Rice y otros altos funcionarios de la administracion norteamericana soltaron disparates sobre el "estado de DDHH" de Corea. A decir la verdad, EE.UU. es el archiviolador del derecho humano y lugar de privacion de DDHH. Por tanto no tiene calificacion ni honra de criticar a otros paises. Asi senalo el vocero del MINREX de la RPDC en una declaracion fechada 13. Tras referirse al hecho de que la sociedad norteamericana es el prototipo de la sociedad anti-.popular que viola flagrantemente hasta el elemental derecho a la existencia del ser humano, el vocero continuo:
    La situacion de DDHH de EE.UU. se ha tornado mas grave desde la aparicion de la administracion Bush.
    En desprecio a la ONU, la ley internacional y la opinion publica mundial, la administracion Bush ocupo ilegalmente a Irak, asesino despiadadamente a los habitantes inocentes y sumergio ese pais islamico en un mar de sangre de la guerra civil. EE.UU. ataco a Irak bajo el pretexto de "prevencion de proliferacion de armas de exterminio masivo" y uso arbitrariamente los proyectiles de uranio empobrecido y hasta la bomba de fosforo blanco.
    La administracion Bush emitio orden oficial de "alterar la interpretacion sobre el Convenio de Ginebra que restringe estrictamente los metodos de interrogacion y de aprobar los mas rigurosos" y perpetro abiertamente las atrocidades barbaras desnudando y torturando a los prisioneros en Irak, Afganistan y Guantanamo". En los ultimos dias, bajo la aprobacion de la administracion, la Agencia Central de Inteligencia de EE.UU. elaboro los reglamentos para carceles en ultramar y gestiono las prisiones secretas en varios paises de Europa y otras regiones para perseguir y castigar sin ton ni son a los presos.
    Tal pais criminal habla de derechos humanos y finge ser "protector de DDHH", lo cual constituye un gran insulto a la justa opinion publica del mundo. La peroracion de EE.UU. sobre "DDHH" es la abierta intervencion de la administracion Bush en los asuntos internos de la RPDC. Esta administracion, con el arraigado sentimiento de negacion a aquella, persigue el malsano objeto politico de aislarla y aplastarla por todos los medios.
    Cuanto mas EE.UU. y otras fuerzas hostiles recurren a la ofensiva de "DDHH" tanto mas firmemente guardara el pueblo coreano la verdad de que el DDHH es precisamente el poder estatal y tomara todas las medidas para defender la soberania con la bandera del Songun en alto.

Rodong Sinmun rechaza nueva acusacion del comandante yanqui

   　Pyongyang, 14 de marzo (ATCC) -- En una audiencia concedida hace algunos dias en el comite de servicios armados del senado estadounidense, al cabo de cuestionar el supuesto "programa nuclear" y las "armas convencionales", el comandante de las fuerzas agresoras norteamericanas ocupantes del Sur de Corea dijo que las fuerzas armadas de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea representan una "amenaza sostenida" para la "seguridad" de los "paises aliados" de EE.UU., inclusive el Sur de Corea, y del Nordeste Asiatico. El diario Rodong Sinmun inserto en su edicion del dia 14 un comentario individual calificando sus palabras de una sofisteria para "justificar" la presencia de tropas gringas en el Sur de Corea y las maniobras para desatar una guerra contra el Norte de Corea y de una intolerable provocacion a la RPDC.
    Historicamente, los imperialistas norteamericanos son maestros del fraude capaces de orquestar sin escrupulos cualquier complot para lanzar invasion armada contra otros paises y naciones, recuerda el comentarista y prosigue:
    En estos momentos tambien, los belicistas norteamericanos pusieron escollos artificiales ante las conversaciones a 6 bandas, iniciadas para resolver el problema nuclear entre la RPDC y EE.UU., al inventar el fantasmal "problema de falsificacion de billetes" y recurren mas freneticamente a la amenaza militar contra aquella.     Si los belicistas yanquis osan desatar una guerra en el territorio patrio, el ejercito y el pueblo de Corea castigaran duramente a los invasores empleando las fuerzas de detencion con fines de autodefensa, preparadas bajo la bandera del Songun (priorizacion militar), y explotando el gran odio hacia los agresores gringos.

Periodicos capitalinos denuncian la payasada de ultraderecha de Japon

    　Pyongyang, 14 de marzo (ATCC) -- En los ultimos dias, las fuerzas conservadoras ultraderechistas japonesas organizaron en la sede del primer ministro una reunion del "grupo especial encargado del problema del secuestro", en la cual resaltaron la necesidad de intensificar las actividades de informacion y recibir la "ayuda del mundo" para "dar solucion al problema del secuestro". Ademas, insistieron en editar en varias lenguas extranjeras folletos al respecto y distribuirlos a otros paises. Concedieron hasta una rueda de prensa sobre dicha reunion. 　Tal alboroto organizado bajo la tacita tolerancia de las autoridades japonesas no pasa de ser una farsa orquestada en sintonia con la campana publicitaria anti-RPDC de EE.UU.
    　Asi senalan los periodicos capitalinos en sus respectivos comentarios individuales del dia 14.

    　Repetir como papagayo lo que dice Estados Unidos deviene un vicio de las fuerzas reaccionarias japonesas serviles al imperio.
    　Es una gran tonteria que Japon intenta eludir la responsabilidad por sus crimenes del pasado poniendo una cortina de humo con el "problema del secuestro". 　Los coreanos son los que tienen derecho a cuestionar a Japon por el respecto. Si el pais isleno se siente culpable, aunque en lo minimo, y tiene la voluntad de reflexionarse de los macro-crimenes antieticos perpetrados en el pasado, no se atrevera a negarlos y embellecerlos. Las relaciones entre ambos paises, que se empeoran cada dia mas, se deben a que Japon se porta mal evadiendo a toda costa la liquidacion del pasado criminal.
    　Por eso, las personas lo califican de pais virulento en lo politico y moral. 　Si Japon sigue evadiendo la liquidacion de su pasado criminal, quedara mas aislado en la arena internacional.
    　Japon debe tenerlo presente y tomar cuanto antes la decision de liquidarlo.
