Kim Jong Il's Works Studied Worldwide

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Works of leader Kim Jong Il were studied and disseminated on a worldwide scale from January to March this year. His famous works were published in pamphlet by the Group of Dialectical Materialists of Italy, the U.S. Solidarity Committee for Supporting the Struggle of the Anti-imperialist National Democratic Front and the South Korean People, the Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Joseph Gebauer Publishing House of Austria. And full text or gist of his works were carried by the Egyptian paper "Al Siyassi", the Romanian paper "Romania Muncitoare" and the Lao paper "Vate Lao" and aired by an Italian TV.
    The Victorial Publishing House of Pakistan and the Publiraser Publishing House of Peru brought out in booklet his works "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of the Revolution and Construction" and "The Juche Philosophy Is an Original Revolutionary Philosophy". Prefaces of the books said that his works are of weighty significance in hewing out the destiny of the people and developing the country independently.
    The executive chairman of the Mongolian Mt. Paektu Association for Independent Development stressed at a releasing ceremony of his famous work that the association would actively disseminate the Juche idea so as to fulfill its duty for society. His works were studied and disseminated among broad masses in various forms and ways by the Indian Youth Group for the Study of Works of Comrade Kim Il Sung, the People's Rally for Socialism of Democratic Congo, the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism and organizations of other countries.
    The director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea said that the work of Kim Jong Il serves as a great encyclopedia which indicates the road ahead of the times and revolution, adding that the work clarifies what attitude and stand we should have to build a new society.
    The chairman of the Russian Youth Association for the Study of the Juche Idea stated that his famous work "On the Juche Idea" serves as a precious textbook of revolution for the followers of the Juche idea.
    The chief of the Group of Youth for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea in Vienna, Austria stressed that his work serves as a powerful weapon for accomplishing the popular masses' cause of independence today when confrontation between the independent forces and the dominationist forces is sharpening and the moves of the imperialists have become more undisguised.

Posters for Kimilsungia Festival Published in DPRK

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Posters for the 8th Kimilsungia Festival to be held here on the occasion of the Day of the Sun were published. Printed on the upper part of the posters are letters "Commemoration of the Day of the Sun" and on their lower part letters "The 8th Kimilsungia Festival". Among them is a poster depicting the old home of President Kim Il Sung in Mangyongdae and Kimilsungias in full bloom. It well shows that the birth of Kim Il Sung was a glory of Korea and his august name is shining with Songun Korea dynamically advancing under the leadership of Kim Jong Il. There is also a poster carrying Mangyong Hill in the morning glow of April, Kimilsungias in full bloom and a festival emblem.

U.S.-led War Exercises Flailed

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- The frantic "RSOI" and "Foal Eagle" joint military exercises in south Korea and the joint military exercise between the U.S. and Japan before them were dangerous war games aimed at an actual war in the region. Especially, the aggressive nature and danger of the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises have been brought into a bolder relief as they were staged in the wake of the announcement of the "national security strategy report" in which the U.S. has defined a preemptive attack on the DPRK as its main military doctrine. Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed commentary.
    It is the U.S. main military strategy after the end of the Cold War to contain the DPRK with preemptive nuclear attack and then seize the military supremacy over Asia by expanding it, the commentary points out, and says:
    The U.S. is now realigning and relocating its forces in south Korea, Japan and other parts of the Asia-Pacific region as a whole while intensively deploying the nuclear forces in the region. It is needless to say that such deployment of forces and escalated war drills are designed to attack not only the DPRK but also its neighboring countries. Today, the U.S. bellicose forces have fixed the nuclear war as the key mode of war for their supremacy. To this end, the U.S. is making ceaseless nuclear tests and stepping up the production of new types of nukes. It has already simplified the procedures of using the nukes. It is the calculation of the U.S. that it may hurl a large number of aggressor troops into the Korean front in a short span of time from the surrounding areas in case of "contingency" on the Korean Peninsula and wage a war as it intends. A war on the peninsula will possibly spread to vast areas of Asia. The U.S. is the chieftain of bringing the danger of thermo-nuclear war. With nothing the U.S. bellicose forces can cover up their criminal nature as the wrecker of peace on the Korean Peninsula and the ringleader of bringing the danger of a nuclear war.

C.C. of 15th-Term South Headquarters of Pomchonghakryon Meets

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- A meeting of the Central Committee of the 15th-term South Headquarters of the Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon) was reportedly held in Seoul on March 25. @Its attendants heard a report on the 16th meeting of its co-chairmen and the 4th meeting of representatives of youth and student organizations of the north and the south and overseas for implementing the June 15 joint declaration held in March. @A resolution adopted at the meeting referred to the fact that the struggle for achieving independent reunification in the spirit of "By our nation itself" is now mounting on the Korean Peninsula. It condemned the United States for working hard to start a war and strain the situation in the peninsula quite contrary to this trend. @A struggle against the U.S. and the conservatives alone paves the way of successfully bringing earlier genuine independence, democracy and reunification, the resolution noted, appealing to the youth and students to take the lead in the struggle to frustrate the plot to perpetuate the presence of the U.S. forces in south Korea, stop the south Korea-U.S. war exercises and check the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek in a bid to foil the U.S. ambition to dominate the whole of the peninsula. The Presidium of the 15th-term South Headquarters of Pomchonghakryon was elected and an action program for this year announced at the meeting.

KCNA Urges Japan to Stop Running Wild

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- The ultra-right conservative forces of Japan are zealously supporting the U.S. anti-DPRK moves, while persistently raising a hue and cry over the already-settled "abduction issue." They have busied themselves, submitting the "North Korean Human Rights Act" approved by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) to the Diet and sending a rewritten pamphlet to the U.S.
    They even prodded the authorities into publishing the results of the screening of the textbooks for Japanese high school students which call for describing the "abduction of Japanese" in the present tense, not in the past tense, in a bid to falsify truth. Timed to coincide with this, they have gone the lengths of using even state power to harshly persecute and crack down on the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, an overseas Koreans' organization of the DPRK.
    All facts clearly indicate that the anti-DPRK hysteria of the ultra-right conservative forces in Japan has reached its height backed by the U.S. and they are using the "abduction issue" to stoke chauvinism and ultra-nationalism among Japanese to pit them against Koreans.
    The gravity of the situation increases, given the fact that the Japanese Maritime "Self-Defence Force" recently inspected nuclear war exercises targeted against the DPRK for the purpose of grasping what it called the operation idea of the U.S. forces. The point at issue is what is behind their escalated anti-DPRK hysteria. Lurking behind this is a mean and despicable political plot which has nothing to do with the settlement of the "abduction issue."
    The above-said ultra-right conservatives' "abduction" racket is nothing but a broad hoax to win political popularity with the LDP presidential election at hand as it is a ridiculous farce to get rid of the deplorable situation where they are standing further rebuffed and isolated from Asian nations.
    To cite just one example, the Japanese authorities much publicized an operation conducted to rescue a few Japanese from Iraq but were so mean as to urge them to pay for it in the past. They are past masters at deception and plot-breeding operation and the Japanese ultra-right conservative forces are immoral and corrupt guys without parallel in the world.
    They treat the people and shape politics just to meet their own selfish interests. No matter how hard they may try to style themselves an "incarnation of humanitarianism," talking about the "abduction issue," the public will not interpret it otherwise than disgusting "farcical politics" peculiar to political dwarfs and a clumsy face-saving charade.
    It is a tragedy in Japan today that the political camp there is now dominated by ill-advised diehards bereft of discretion and principle.
    The relations between Japan and its neighbors are at the lowest ebb due to the Japanese politics that has turned most corrupt, conservative and rightist. No wonder, even political elders and media of Japan are becoming increasingly assertive that they can not leave the politics to such imbeciles.
    It is extremely harmful to the future of Japan for the ultra-right forces of Japan to seek a way out of the crisis they find themselves at home and abroad in the militarization of the country and in stoking the atmosphere of war while abusing the "abduction issue" to this end.
    They pretend to work for people but, in actuality, seek to meet their political interests by sacrificing them. Any Japanese who can face up to the reality should not get involved in such reckless row.
    Now is the time for them to choose between confrontation and the normalization of the bilateral relations.
    They would be well advised to stop running wild.

Chinese Minister of National Defence Arrives Here

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Colonel General Cao Gangchuan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, state councilor and minister of National Defense of the People's Republic of China, arrived here today by air. He was accompanied by Commander of Shenyang Military Area of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Chang Wanquan, Assistant to the Chief of the General Staff of the CPLA Zhang Qinsheng, Deputy Commander of the Navy of the CPLA Zhang Yongyi, Deputy Political Commissar of the Air Force of the CPLA Liu Yazhou, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Central Military Commission Cao Yumin and others. Cao Gangchuan and his party were greeted at the airport by Vice-Minister of the People's Armed Forces Kim Jong Gak.
    Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Wu Donghe and Military Attache of the embassy Yang Xilian were out at the airport.
    A ceremony for welcoming his visit to the DPRK was held in front of the Monument to Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
    After the national anthems of China and the DPRK were played, Chinese Minister of National Defence Cao Gangchuan, in company with Minister of the People's Armed Forces Kim Il Chol, reviewed a guard of honor of the KPA.

Talks between DPRK and Chinese Defence Ministers

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Talks were held here today between Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Kim Il Chol, member of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and minister of the People's Armed Forces, and Col. General Cao Gangchuan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, state councilor and minister of National Defense of the People's Republic of China. Present at the talks from the DPRK side were Kim Jong Gak, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, and general officers and officers of the KPA and from the Chinese side Commander of the Shenyang Military Area of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Chang Wanquan, Assistant to the Chief of the General Staff of the CPLA Zhang Qinsheng, Deputy Commander of the Navy of the CPLA Zhang Yongyi, Deputy Political Commissar of the Air Force of the CPLA Liu Yazhou, Deputy Director of the General Office of the Central Military Commission Cao Yumin and other suite members, Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Wu Donghe and Military Attache of the Chinese embassy here Yang Xilian. At the talks both sides exchanged views on boosting the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two armies and issues of mutual concern.
    The talks took place in a comradely and friendly atmosphere.

Moderate Earthquake Felt in Korea

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale occurred in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at 18:14:1.2 on April 3. The epicenter of the quake is Taedong-ri area of latitude 38 degrees and 53 minutes N and longitude 126 degrees and 02 minutes E of Sangwon County, Pyongyang. The shock was felt by people within a 30-kilometer radius of the epicenter. There were five quakes of over 3 in the country this year. The Monday earthquake was observed as the biggest one.

Chonghwa White Porcelains, Pride of Nation

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- The Ri Dynasty Porcelain Exhibition is going on at the Korean Central History Museum in Pyongyang. Most of the exhibits are chonghwa (with blue-color patterns) white porcelains which are favorite ones of the Korean people. The chonghwa white porcelains on display including a large chonghwa white porcelain bowl patterned with sipjangsaeng (ten things symbolizing longevity) and a chonghwa white porcelain side-dish bowl patterned with peony blossoms are charming visitors for the harmony of their soft and elegant colors.
    The chonghwa white porcelains, made with white porcelain raw materials and blue pigment, accounted for a big proportion of the white porcelains produced in the period of Ri Dynasty.
    The chonghwa white porcelain witnessed its heyday in the period from the mid-fifteenth century to the late sixteenth century. And its kinds and themes of picture decoration became varied.
    What are main in the chonghwa white porcelains are pencil-stands, jars and flowerpots. And the contents and forms of their decoration are very rich. The chonghwa decoration, symbolic of the chonghwa white porcelain, was only the sipjangsaeng patterns in the first half of the Ri Dynasty period. But, in the latter half, it included colorful patterns including four flowering plants (plum tree, orchid, chrysanthemum and bamboo) and kilsang (good fortune) patterns. Also new kinds of decorations were applied. Typical of them was chonghwa-crimson porcelain.
    The picture decorations of the chonghwa white porcelains were mostly based on the traditional art of Korean drawing. As their brush stroke is dynamic and they have much blank space, they give fresh feelings to people.
    The techniques of the chonghwa white porcelains have been carried forward in the porcelain-making field of the country.

New Fodder Additive Developed

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Researchers of an institute under the Ministry of Light Industry of the DPRK have made a new kind of fodder additive by processing asteroid by a microbiological method. They succeeded in making gruel-like multi amino acids which are sweetish, fragrant and saltless by applying a method of hydrolysis by enzyme in the intestines of asteroid. The gruel contains essential amino acids similar to those in beef and biological active materials like those in sea cucumber and insam (ginseng). Therefore it is very efficacious for increasing the body weight of domestic animals.

Kaechon-Lake Thaesong Waterway Pays Off

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- It is three years since the commissioning of the Kaechon-Lake Thaesong gravity-fed waterway of Korean style. It has provided at least 1.9 billion tons of water to more than ten towns, counties and districts in South Phyongan Province and Pyongyang. This is equal to the amount of water to be pumped by ten pumping machines with a capacity of 2 tons per second for three years non-stop. This waterway extending hundreds of kilometers from the Taegak Youth Dam runs to Lake Thaesong, filling 20 reservoirs with water and adding beauty to the landscape of the country. It has watered fields of co-op farms realigned as befitting the land of socialist Korea, while supplying industrial and drinking water to inhabitants. The construction of this irrigation system resulted in saving more than 300 million kwh of electricity as it was no longer necessary to operate at least 500 pumps, electric motors, transformers at hundreds of pumping stations. It was more beneficial than operating a power station with a generating capacity of tens of thousands of kw. There appeared along the waterway such big and small power stations as the Taegak Youth Power Station and Phyongwon power stations Nos. 1, 2 and 3 and this also helped the existing minor power stations increase their capacity, creating an additional generating capacity of over 10,000 kw.

Cuban Diplomats Visit Korean Revolution Museum

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Cuban Ambassador to the DPRK Ruben Perez Valdes and embassy members visited the Korean Revolution Museum Tuesday on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK. They went round historic relics and materials on display with keen interest. At the end of the visit the ambassador wrote in a visitor's book that the Korean people would achieve greater success in their efforts to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Gift to Kim Jong Il

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was presented with a gift by Col. General Cao Gangchuan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, state councilor and minister of National Defense of the People's Republic of China, on a visit to the DPRK. The gift was conveyed by Cao Gangchuan to Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Kim Il Chol, member of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and minister of the People's Armed Forces, on Tuesday.

Message of Sympathy to Iranian President

     Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, today sent a message of sympathy to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. As regards the recent quake that hit Iran, claiming many human and material losses, the message expressed deep condolences and sympathy to the Iranian president and, through him, to the victims and their bereaved families and residents in the afflicted area and sincerely wished the Iranian government earliest possible recovery from the quake damage.

ATCC califica de ignorantes a los reaccionarios de Japon

     Pyongyang, 4 de abril (ATCC) -- Las fuerzas conservadoras ultraderechistas de Japon cuestionan de continuo el ya solucionado "problema del secuestro" en adhesion a las maniobras norteamericanas contra la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea. Arman alborotos tratando de someter a consideracion de la dieta un "proyecto de ley de derechos humanos del Norte de Corea" aprobado por el Partido Liberal Democratico y rectificar un folleto para enviarlo a EE.UU. E incluso, azuzaron a las autoridades a publicar el resultado de aprobacion oficial de anotar en el manual para las escuelas superiores el "secuestro" de japoneses como un problema no preterito sino del presente.
    Por otra parte, ponen en accion al poder estatal para oprimir y acosar a la Asociacion General de Coreanos Residentes en Japon.
    Todos los hechos demuestran que llegan al extremo las maniobras anti-RPDC de esas fuerzas conservadoras ultraderechistas al amparo de EE.UU. y que estas utilizan el "problema del secuestro" para inculcar el sentimiento chovinista contra la RPDC y el ultranacionalismo.
    Se agranda la gravedad del problema al hacer menciones de que las "fuerzas maritimas de autodefensa" de Japon presenciaron un ejercicio de guerra nuclear de EE.UU. contra la RPDC para aprender el ideal operacional de las tropas norteamericanas.
    Las fuerzas conservadoras ultraderechistas de Japon se entregan con frenesi a las maniobras anti-RPDC partiendo de una vil conspiracion politica del todo ajena a la solucion del "problema del secuestro".
    Este problema es una absurda artimana para evitar su aislamiento y repudio por parte de los paises regionales y ganar la popularidad politica en visperas de la eleccion del presidente del Partido Liberal Democratico.
    @Las autoridades japonesas, grandes maestros del fraude y la intriga, y las muy inmorales y corruptas fuerzas conservadoras ultraderechistas del mismo pais alabaron ante todo el mundo de sus "meritos" de haber rescatado a los japoneses en Irak. Pero detras de esta campana publicitaria pidieron a esas pocas victimas la compensacion por el rescate. Es decir, estos tipejos practican a los habitantes japoneses la politica de regalar uno para arrebatar dos. Entonces, por mucho que traten de hacerse "simbolos del humanitarismo" cuestionando el "problema del secuestro", no podran ocultar su naturaleza de politicos enanos acostumbrados a su repugnante y barata "politica teatral". Es una tragedia de Japon contemporaneo que el circulo politico fuera controlado por esos individuos obstinados, descabellados, imprudentes y carentes de un criterio fijo. La irremediablemente corrompida politica de Japon, que toma el rumbo al conservadurismo y la derechizacion, llevo a la peor fase las relaciones con sus paises vecinos. Por lo tanto, entre los propios "veteranos" del circulo politico del pais-isla y la prensa cunden voces dando descredito a esos politiqueros tan ignorantes. Las fuerzas ultraderechistas japonesas buscan la salida de su crisis interna y externa en la militarizacion y la creacion de un clima a favor de la guerra y, para este fin, malemplean el "problema del secuestro".
    Pero, tal procedimiento resulta muy perjudicial para el futuro del pais isleno. Si un japones sabe justipreciar la realidad, no debe inmiscuirse en las imprudentes acciones de quienes danan al pueblo fingiendo trabajar para este y persiguen solo sus mezquinos intereses politicos.
    Las fuerzas conservadoras ultraderechistas de Japon deben portarse con prudencia y responder claramente a esta pregunta: ?O la guerra o el establecimiento de relaciones diplomaticas con la RPDC?

Promotor del peligro de guerra thermonuclear

    @Pyongyang, 4 de abril (ATCC) -- El "ejercicio combinado de refuerzo para el tiempo de guerra" y el simulacro conjunto "Aguilucho" desarrollados recientemente en el suelo surcoreano y las maniobras militares conjuntas EE.UU.-Japon precedidas a estos fueron los muy aventureros que suponen una guerra real en esta region. El caracter agresivo y peligrosidad de los ejercicios militares conjuntos EE.UU.-Sur de Corea se pusieron mas de relieve porque estas maniobras desarrollaban despues de la publicacion del "informe de la estrategia para la seguridad nacional" en el cual EE.UU. define el ataque preventivo contra la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea como doctrina militar clave.
    Senala asi el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 4 y continua: Aplastar a la RPDC con el ataque preventivo nuclear y extenderlo para tomar la supremacia militar en la region asiatica es una estrategia militar principal de EE.UU. despues de la guerra fria.
    Este imperio reorganizo sus fuerzas armadas en el Sur de Corea, Japon y otra region de Asia-Pacifico y despliega en estas regiones sus artefactos nucleares. Esto evidencia que EE.UU. toma por blanco de ataque no solo a la RPDC sino tambien a los paises circunvecinos.
    Hoy en dia, las fuerzas belicosas estadounidenses consideran la guerra nuclear como modo principal de guerra para tomar la supremacia. Para este fin, realizan de continuo prueba nuclear y aceleran la produccion de nuevas armas nucleares. Ya han simplificado la tramitacion de uso de armas nucleares. EE.UU. cree que en el "tiempo de emergencia" de la Peninsula Coreana podria cumplir la guerra segun lo previsto al trasladar en un corto tiempo sus fuerzas armadas de gran envergadura de la region circunvecina al frente coreano.
    Si se desencadena una guerra en la Peninsula Coreana, esta se extendera a amplia region de Asia.
    EE.UU. es perturbador de la paz de dicha Peninsula y promotor del peligro de la guerra nuclear. Las fuerzas belicosas estadounidenses no podran ocultar jamas su faz criminal.

Ocurrido un terremoto de 4.1 grados en Corea

    @Pyongyang, 4 de abril (ATCC) -- A las 18:14:1.2 del dia 3, sacudio la zona de la comuna de Taedong del distrito de Sangwon de la ciudad de Pyongyang (38‹53Œde latitud norte y 126‹02Œ de longitud este) un terremoto de 4.1 grados en la escala abierta de Richter. Lo sintieron hasta los moradores que viven a los 30 kilometros fuera del epicentro. El sismo resulto el mas grande de los 5 terremotos ( mas de 3 grados), reportados este ano.

    @Pyongyang, 4 de abril (ATCC) -- Fueron editados los afiches del VIII Festival de Kimilsungias que tendra lugar con solemnidad en esta capital con motivo del Dia del Sol (15 de abril, cumpleanos del Presidente Kim Il Sung). @En las partes superiores de los afiches estan las letras "En conmemoracion del Dia del Sol", y en las inferiores "El VIII Festival de Kimilsungias" junto con la casa natal de Mangyongdae y hermosas Kimilsungias. Describen en lo artistico que el nacimiento del Presidente es la gloria de Corea y su nombre brillara para siempre junto con Corea del Songun (priorizacion militar) que avanza bajo la direccion del Dirigente Kim Jong Il. @Ademas, fueron publicados los carteles que describen la colina Mangyong de abril agradable de primavera con crepusculo rojizo, Kimilsungias abiertas de par en par y la insignia del festival.
