Day of the Sun Commemorated in Different Countries

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Seminars, lectures, film shows, photo exhibitions and round-table talks were held from Mar. 29 to Apr. 2 by the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party, the Dar Es Salaam Regional Committee of the Revolutionary Party of Tanzania, the Secretariat of the National Movement of Uganda, the Culture and Art Council of Abuja City, Nigeria and the Secretariat of the Pan-African Movement with the approaching of the Day of the Sun. On display at the venues were works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and photos showing their undying exploits.
    Screened at the film shows were Korean films including "They Were Always Together on the Road to Bring About the People's Well-being".
    The deputy secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party in a speech introduced brief biography of Kim Il Sung in detail and praised his immortal contributions to accomplishing the human cause of independence. The secretary of the Dar Es Salaam Regional Committee of the Revolutionary Party of Tanzania in a lecture said that Kim Il Sung provided the deep and strong roots of the unique Songun politics and that the idea and line of attaching importance to military affairs set forth and maintained by him all his life are now the ideological and theoretical foundation of the Songun politics in Korea.
    Meanwhile, a lecture and a seminar were held in Mongolia and Pakistan on Mar. 27 and 28 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.

Letter to Kim Jong Il from Secretary General of CILRECO

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il received a letter sent by Guy Dupre, secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea (CILRECO) on Mar. 26 on behalf of the attendants of its presidium meeting held in Brussels. The attendants congratulated the Korean people for successfully frustrating the aggressive moves of the U.S. imperialists to block the process of national reunification under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il and highly praised his Songun politics for its contribution to the defence of security, stability and peace in the Korean Peninsula and region, the letter said, and went on:
    The attendants sternly denounced in the name of the CILRECO the U.S. belligerent hostile policy towards the DPRK. They clearly stressed that the reunification of the Korean nation and the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula can never be achieved as long as the U.S. forces remain in south Korea as the root cause of interference in the internal affairs of Korea and the constant threat of a new war in the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, the action program for 2006 of CILRECO and a declaration to the world public adopted at the meeting called for extending more positive support and solidarity to the Korean people in their efforts for reunification and peace of the country. The attendants said that the world conference for supporting the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea held in Pyongyang last year was an important occasion which confirmed the absolute support of the world people for the just cause of the Korean people, and warmly congratulated the achievements of the conference. All the attendants, greatly inspired by the brilliant successes made by the Korean people last year under your distinguished leadership, vowed to more positively contribute to the struggle for Korea's reunification in the future and expressed the firm belief that the noble cause started by President Kim Il Sung will surely be accomplished.

10-day Film Show Opens

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A 10-day film show was opened on the occasion of the auspicious April holiday, the birthday of President Kim Il Sung. Documentary films "The Leader Is the Great Father of Our People" and "The Fatherly Leader with Anti-Japanese Revolutionary Fighters," feature films "Star of Korea" and "The Sun of the Nation" and other films dealing with Kim Il Sung's revolutionary life and undying feats will be screened at the cinemas and houses of culture across the country during this period.
    Shown also will be "For Holding the Fatherly Leader in Higher Esteem," "As We Are under the Great Brilliant Commander," "Legacy," "Our Life" and "A Bellflower" and other documentary and feature films dealing with the personality of leader Kim Jong Il as a great man, the DPRK army and people's spirit of devotedly defending the leader and their heroic struggle.
    An opening ceremony of the show was held at the People's Palace of Culture on April 6. Minister of Culture Kim Jin Song in an opening address said that the show of those films would help the Party members and other working people keenly realize once again that only victory would be recorded in their history when they remain loyal to the guidance of the great leader and the great Party.
    He called upon all the people to eternally hold Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the sun of Juche and make a new leap forward in the general advance of Songun revolution, single-mindedly united around Kim Jong Il.
    At the end of the ceremony, its participants watched a DPRK documentary film "They Were Always Together on the Road to Bring About the People's Well-being".

Foreign Guests Visit International Friendship Exhibition

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Officials in charge of cultural and friendly relations of various embassies here visited the International Friendship Exhibition on April 6 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun. They paid tribute to the wax replica of President Kim Il Sung in unbounded reverence for him.
    They looked round gifts Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il received from state and party leaders, political and public figures and people from all walks of life in different countries.

Presidium of CILRECO Meets

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A meeting of the Presidium of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea was held in Brussels on March 26. It was attended by its presidium members including honorary chairmen and the secretary general of the committee and representatives of political parties and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and personages of various circles from various countries.
    Secretary General of the committee Guy Dupre in a report referred to the fact that the committee has positively supported the struggle of the Korean people to realize the cooperation for national independence, peace against war and reunification and patriotism under the banner of the June 15 North-South joint declaration. Noting that the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. is a product of the U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK, he continued:
    The U.S. should discard its reckless attempt at a preemptive nuclear attack and opt for seeking a peaceful solution to the nuclear issue on the basis of justice. The committee expresses full sympathy with and support to the consistent stand of the DPRK to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula and seek a negotiated settlement of the nuclear issue.
    He proposed tasks to be tackled to intensify the activities in support of the Korean people dynamically waging the patriotic movement for independent reunification, peace against war and overall national unity under the banner of "By our nation itself" this year.
    Expressing deep concern over the fact that the U.S. is bringing dark clouds of a nuclear war to hang over the Korean Peninsula, the speakers at the meeting vehemently condemned the U.S. moves for domination and a new war, its "human rights" racket against the DPRK and the treacherous acts of the anti-reunification forces in south Korea.
    They evinced their resolution to intensify their actions in support of the Korean people dynamically waging the above-said three-point patriotic movement as their main task. An action programme of the CILRECO for 2006 and a declaration of the meeting were adopted there.
    The action programme pointed out that the CILRECO would dynamically conduct activities to widely introduce the ideas of reunification and leadership exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il this year.
    The programme called for building up the public opinion that the concrete wall still remains in Korea due to the tacit connivance and patronage of the U.S. keen to perpetuate its division and taking a series of measures for the removal of all sorts of physical and legal barriers. It also pointed out that the CILRECO would intensify the solidarity movement calling for international pressure upon the U.S. to give up its hostile policy towards the DPRK and supporting the DPRK's stand that the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. would never be solved unless the armistice mechanism is replaced by a lasting peace mechanism in the Korean Peninsula. The declaration demanded the U.S. opt for withdrawing its forces from south Korea without delay, giving up at once its war moves and hostile policy towards the DPRK, removing the root cause of the nuclear issue between the two countries and seeking a negotiated peaceful solution to the nuclear issue.
    A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.

Day of Sun Marked at Syrian Embassy

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Muhammad Adib Al-hani, charge d'affaires ad interim of the Syrian embassy here, hosted a reception at the embassy Thursday to commemorate the Day of the Sun. He said in a speech that President Kim Il Sung always lives in the hearts of not only the Korean people but the world progressives struggling for freedom and independence for his great exploits performed in the struggle to accomplish the human cause of independence.
    The friendly relations between the two countries provided by former President Hafez Al-Assad and President Kim Il Sung are growing stronger under the deep care of President Bashar Al-Assad and leader Kim Jong Il, he noted, wishing the Korean people greater progress and prosperity.
    Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, in his speech said that Kim Il Sung fathered the immortal Juche idea and built a powerful socialist country, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence, adding that he was a political elder who performed undying exploits in the efforts to accomplish the human cause of independence. The DPRK will as ever extend full support and solidarity to the Syrian people in their just cause of defending the country's sovereignty and the national dignity and strive to boost the friendly relations between the two countries, he stressed. Present at the reception on invitation were Rim Kyong Man, minister of Foreign Trade, Mun Jae Chol, acting chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Jong Chang Ryol, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kim Hyong Jun, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and officials concerned. A staff member of the Syrian embassy was on hand.

Japan's Anti-DPRK, Anti-Chongryon Racket under Fire

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries should immediately stop their reckless campaign against the DPRK and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), clearly mindful of the gravity of such racket and the serious consequences to be entailed by it, urges Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed commentary. Accusing the Japanese reactionaries of deliberately linking the "abduction issue" to Chongryon and pressurizing the DPRK over it, the commentary terms this an intolerable political provocation.
    It says:
    Japan is brutally cracking down on Chongryon despite the fact that it brought unspeakable misfortune and disasters to the Koreans in the past. This is little short of committing double crimes against them.
    By nature, the Japanese government is under legal and moral obligations to ensure Chongryon its activities and protect the life of Koreans in Japan from a historical point of view.
    Japan's harsh suppression of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan is a wanton violation of the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration and a serious infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK.
    The Japanese prime minister repeatedly expressed his stand not to allow any discrimination against the Koreans in Japan but treat them in a friendly manner at a time when the declaration was adopted and on several other occasions. The Japanese government, too, reconfirmed this at the DPRK-Japan inter-governmental talks for the normalization of their relations held in Beijing in February.
    Nonetheless, Japan styling itself a "law-governed country", has perpetrated the fascist suppression of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan in a brigandish way even by mobilizing state force and increased its pressure upon the DPRK, deliberately linking the already settled "abduction issue" to Chongryon. How mean and base it is. Japan should know well that there is a limit to the patience of the Korean people. It is their will to certainly force the Japanese imperialists, their sworn enemy, to pay for the indelible crimes committed against them a thousand times.

U.S. Accused of Attempt to Make Preemptive Attack on DPRK

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The United States recently announced a "national security strategy report" outlining its foreign policy. In the report the Bush administration openly disclosed its attempt to make a preemptive attack on the DPRK, terming it again an "outpost of tyranny". Rodong Sinmun Friday carries a signed article in this regard, which says: The U.S. imperialist warhawks seek to mobilize a huge amount of manpower and material resources to quickly wind up a Korean war in an "emergency". This is nothing but a foolish miscalculation and wild fancy indicating their ignorance of the DPRK. Victory is always in store for the DPRK.
    The DPRK has the weapon of single-minded unity of the leader, the party and the popular masses mightier than nuclear weapons. The might of this single-minded unity is inexhaustible as the party, the army and the people are closely united around the headquarters of the revolution. The Korean army is fully prepared to beat back any armed invasion of the imperialists at a single stroke.
    In the DPRK all the people are armed and the whole country has been turned into a fortress. Its frontline area, rear and depth are an impregnable fortress. The Koreans have high pluck as they are led by Kim Jong Il, an invincible and illustrious commander. He is the best in military wisdom and insight, pluck and gut, strategy and tactics, military stratagem and commanding art.
    He is the most brilliant commander who has the world under his control and his decisions and orders lead the Koreans to victory.
    A new Korean war will turn into a real war in the 21st century. In this war unlike the Iraqi war, the DPRK will respond to the U.S. imperialists' gunfire with gunfire and their missile warfare with missile warfare. We will return one fire from them with ten or hundred fires.
    A war between the DPRK and the U.S. will not be confined to the second Korean war only. The U.S. imperialist bellicose forces should clearly understand this and act with reason and discretion.
    The Korean army and people are the heroic army and people who have defeated two formidable imperialisms in one generation. They have always emerged victorious in the protracted stand-off with the U.S. imperialists, as seen in the Fatherland Liberation War fought in the 1950s, the case of the U.S. imperialists' armed spy ship "Pueblo", the case of "EC-121" large spy plane and the Panmunjom axe incident. The U.S. is not able to measure the mentality of the Korean army and people and the limit of their strength.
    They value peace and do not want a war. But they will mobilize all potentials to make thousand-fold retaliation against the enemies if the latter invade even 0.001 mm of their territory.
    The preemptive attack is, by no means, monopoly of the U.S.

Multifarious Celebration Events Held

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A meeting of youth and students took place at the plaza of the Monument to Party Founding on April 6 to celebrate the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission. Present at the meeting were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and youth and students in Pyongyang. A report made by Kim Kyong Ho, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, was followed by speeches.
    The reporter and speakers said that the election of Kim Jong Il as NDC chairman was the greatest honor for the army and people, youth and students of the DPRK and this marked a big political event as it provided a sure guarantee for the eternal prosperity of the country and a final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche. They referred to the fact that Kim Jong Il opened a new history of building a great prosperous powerful nation with his unique Songun politics, thus performing undying feats on behalf of the times and the revolution. They also recalled that he has wisely led the Korean youth to greatly exalt the honor of the youth vanguard in the era of Songun. They underlined the need for all the youth and students to deepen the conviction that they are sure to win when they are under his leadership and firmly prepare themselves to become human bullets and bombs devotedly defending the headquarters of the revolution.
    A poem "Five million members of the young vanguard will dynamically advance under the banner of the great Songun" was recited at the meeting.
    On the same day, trade union officials and members from across the country held an oratorical meeting titled "The general is an everlasting banner of victory" at the Central Workers' Hall on the same occasion.

National Symposium on Science and Technology Held

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A national symposium on science and technology took place in Pyongyang on April 5 and 6. Present at the symposium were President of the State Academy of Sciences Pyon Yong Rip, Chairman of the National Association of Science and Technology Ri Song Uk, scientists and technicians.
    It was also attended by a south side's delegation headed by Chairperson of the General Federation of Scientific and Technological Organizations Chae Yong Bok, scholars including Chairman of the Association of Korean Scientists and Technicians in China Son Tong Sik, a delegation of Koreans in the United States led by Chairman of the Association of Korean Scientists and Technicians in the United States Song Ki Roe and Korean scholar in Japan Ryang Yong Bu.
    An inaugural speech was followed by congratulatory speeches at the symposium. Speakers underscored the need for the Koreans to pool efforts and wisdom, strengthen solidarity and alliance and develop science and technology under the historic banner of the June 15 joint declaration. They expressed the hope that the symposium would prove to be a meaningful assembly which would make a positive contribution to the prosperity of the Korean nation. The symposium was divided into such panels as IT, nanotechnology, bioengineering and environmental engineering. At least 90 valuable papers were presented and wide-ranging views on the issue of further developing science and technology exchanged at the symposium.
    It took place at a time when all the fellow countrymen in the north and the south of Korea and overseas have come out in the patriotic movement for independent reunification, peace against war and overall national unity under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself", true to the June 15 joint declaration. The symposium marked a significant occasion of exchanging the achievements and experience gained by Korean scientists and technicians and boosting their cooperation and exchange in the field of science and technology.

U.S. Urged to Properly Approach Six-Party Talks

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea reportedly issued a statement titled "The U.S., stop its financial sanctions and implement the agreement reached at the six-party talks" on April 1. Accusing the U.S. of recently getting evermore pronounced in its financial sanctions against the DPRK, the statement said that it is no more than an action of barring the six-party talks from resuming.
    The U.S. is hurting the north by raising a hue and cry over the non-existent issues of "counterfeit notes" and "human rights", the statement noted, urging the U.S. to stop all sorts of base accusations against the north and sincerely opt for the resumption of the six-party talks.
    The statement repeatedly demanded that the U.S. stop the groundless accusations and sanctions against the north as it promised in the joint statement adopted at the 4th round of the six-party talks that calls for respect to each other's sovereignty and peaceful co-existence with others and come out for the talks with a sincere attitude.

Japan's Moves for Revival of Militarism Flailed in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon) reportedly issued a statement on March 31 strongly denouncing the Japanese government's moves to revive militarism. Referring to the fact that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan issued instructions to describe Tok Islet as part of Japan's territory in the high school textbooks to be used from the next year and whitewash its past crimes including the issue of the "comfort women" for the imperial Japanese Army, the statement said: This is a criminal move to conceal and distort all sorts of base and shameless acts Japan committed in the past.
    The statement drew attention to the fact that under the protection of the U.S. Japan is taking the dangerous road of emerging a military power, styling itself the so-called "moving aircraft carrier" and a shock force in carrying out the U.S. strategy to dominate Northeast Asia and throwing away its pacifist constitution.
    It demanded that the Japanese government retract at once the wrong description of Tok Islet, stop its moves to turn Japan into a military power, admit all its past crimes and make an official apology and compensation for them.

Japan Urged to Stop Trial Operation of Nuclear Reprocessing Plant

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Thirteen civic and public organizations and political parties in south Korea reportedly called a news conference in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul on Mar. 31 at which they urged the Japanese government to immediately stop the trial operation of a nuclear reprocessing plant in Lokashomura. Among them were the Bar Association for a Democratic Society, the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society, the Green Federation, the Environmental Movement Association and the Democratic Workers' Party. A statement issued at the conference pointed out that in case the plant goes operational, it will produce four tons of nuclear weapon grade plutonium in just two years. A huge amount of plutonium enough to manufacture more than 1,000 nuclear bombs annually will be churned out from the plant from the year 2011 when it is presumed to go into full operation, it added.
    This will increase concern about Japan's moves to become a military giant and realize nuclear weaponization among Northeast Asian countries and escalate regional discord, the statement warned, and went on:
    The plant will seriously pollute environment as it will discharge gas and spent water contaminated by radioactive rays into the atmosphere and the sea, and the Northeast Asian region will be, accordingly, seized with the horror of a nuclear disaster. The statement urged Japan to immediately stop the trial operation of the plant detrimental to peace and stability in Northeast Asia.

Rally for Independent Reunification Held in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A rally for independent reunification was reportedly held on Jeju Island on April 1 to inherit the spirit of the April 3 People's Resistance for independence under the co-sponsorship of the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration and the preparatory committee for the Jeju Solidarity for implementing the joint declaration in south Korea. A resolution read out at the rally said that the April 3 People's Resistence on Jeju Island was a sacred one that displayed the spirit of the Korean nation for independence against the U.S. and its will to achieve national reunification. The U.S. is seeking to break the will of the Korean nation for reunification by rendering the situation strained through large-scale war exercises, but the spirit for unity and reunification between the north and the south of Korea is growing stronger, the resolution said, adding: The Korean nation will surely open up a new era of peaceful reunification under the banner of independent reunification, peace against war and great national unity.

Fitness Center

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- The Fitness Center, situated at the foot of Moran Hill in Pyongyang, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is visited every day by a lot of working people, sports fans and athletes. They are enjoying their pleasant time there, fitting their bodies and relieving their fatigue. Seen among the visitors were triple world judo championship holder Kye Sun Hui, strong weight-lifter of Asia Ri Song Hui and other sports masters who have distinguished themselves in various events.
    The center, operated by the Korea Global Sports Partners Co. Ltd., is a two-storied building with a total floor space of more than 650 square meters. It consists of two body-fitness rooms and fatigue-relieving rooms.
    The body-fitness rooms are furnished with nearly 20 kinds of apparatuses for running and for body-fitting.
    The fatigue-relieving rooms include massage, sauna and shower rooms. The visitors do physical exercises with apparatuses suitable to their body-weight and body-shape within the set-time under the guidance of training coaches. And they are served with international sports information and video tapes on games. In room having two walls covered with large-sized mirrors, people systematically learn the mass rhythmic gymnastics to the accompaniment of music and women do gymnastic exercises with ring, ball and jumping rope to fit their bodies.
    Officials and families of foreign embassies and foreign students studying in Pyongyang are frequent to visit the center.
    President of the Korea Global Sports Partners Co. Ltd. Ri Hye Gyong told KCNA that the center would contribute to the development of sports of the country and to the sports cultural and emotional life of working people, thus discharging its mission.

World Health Day Marked

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- A function on the theme of "Strengthen Human Resources for Health" was held at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital on April 6 to mark the World Health Day. It was participated in by public health workers, officials of ministries and national institutions and men of the press in Pyongyang.
    Among the attendants were the representative of the World Health Organization, members of missions of international organizations and foreign diplomatic representatives in Pyongyang.
    The function was addressed by vice minister of Public Health Choe Chang Sik and representative of the WHO Tej Walia.
    They referred to the necessity and the ways for creating and increasing the human resources in the field of public health to make an actual contribution to improving welfare and health of the humankind.
    A hygienic propaganda art performance was given on the occasion by medical workers of eight units including the Hospital attached to Pyongyang University of Medicine, the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, the Kim Man Yu Hospital and the Kwangbok Polyclinic which were selected in the national art contest of hygienic propaganda teams of public health institutions of the country. The performers put on stage colorful programs including homophony and narration "Let's sing the love loudly" and "Let's watch TV to get health general knowledge", mixed duet "Dear place for me to live in" and jest "Korean Kimchi is good". The performance vividly showed the advantages of the public health system of the socialist Korea. Meanwhile, various activities were held in different parts of the country to observe the World Health Day.

Congratulatory Letter to Kim Jong Il

     Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il was presented with a congratulatory letter by the military attaches' corps here on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of his election as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK. It was handed to an official concerned on Friday by Giraldo Abreu Morales, military attache of the Cuban embassy who is doyen of the corps.

    Se entero del estado de cumplimiento del programa de entrenamiento e indico las tareas para realizar de manera cientifica y regular los ejercicios.     Es un gran exito el que las oficiales y soldados de la compania, unidas con una sola idea y voluntad elevan extraordinariamente la combatividad, mantienen bien su unidad y traen un viraje trascendental en el cultivo para el autoconsumo, dijo el Comandante Supremo y anadio que este gran cambio es producto de la inagotable espiritualidad y facultad creadora de nuestro ejercito que tomo la delantera de superar con valentia todas las vicisitudes como la "marcha penosa" y la forzosa.
    El noble espiritu y estilo de lucha de las militares sirven de ejemplar de coreanas que con gusto hacen revolucion, subrayo.
    El Comandante Supremo vio una funcion artistica de las militares de la compania. Dio como recuerdo binoculos, ametralladora y fusil automatico a las militares de la compania y se fotografio junta a estas.

Rodong Sinmun fustiga salvaje represion a la Chongryon en Japon

    　Pyongyang, 7 de abril (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun publico en su edicion del dia 7 un comentario individual criticando la provocacion politica de los reaccionarios japoneses afanados en presionar a la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea e involucrar absurdamente a la Chongryon (Asociacion General de Coreanos Residentes en Japon) en el "problema del secuestro". Hace algunos dias, las autoridades japonesas ordenaron a una brigada de policias moviles registrar forzadamente la oficina de la Sociedad de Comerciantes e Industriales de coreanos residentes en Japon en la prefectura de Osaka, tiendas y viviendas de que son propietarios los compatriotas coreanos, recuerda el comentarista y prosigue:
    Asi que en los ultimos dias, los reaccionarios japoneses intensifican de la peor forma la campana anti-RPDC y anti-Chongryon utilizando hasta el poder estatal. Desde el punto de vista historico, el gobierno japones tiene la responsabilidad legal y moral de garantizar las actividades de la Chongryon y proteger la vida de los coreanos residentes en su pais.
    La salvaje represion contra la Chongryon y los ciudadanos coreanos en el pais-isla constituye flagrante violacion a la Declaracion Corea-Japon de Pyongyang y grave atentado a la soberania de la RPDC.
    A la hora de aprobar la susodicha declaracion y en otras varias oportunidades el premier japones reitero su posicion de tratar con amabilidad sin discriminacion a los coreanos residentes en su pais.
    Tambien el gobierno japones la ratifico en las conversaciones intergubernamentales Corea-Japon para el establecimiento de relaciones diplomaticas, entabladas en febrero ultimo en Beijing.
    Sin embargo, al vincular malintencionadamente el "problema del secuestro" con la Chongryon, este autoproclamado "pais constitucional" reprime con metodos fascistas a esta y a los ciudadanos coreanos abusando del poder estatal y trata de ejercer presion sobre la RPDC.
    Estas sucias y virulentas maniobras adquieren mayor gravedad porque coinciden con las brutales maquinaciones hostiles de EE.UU. a la RPDC.
    Pero, los reaccionarios japoneses deben saber que tiene su limite la paciencia del pueblo coreano.

La victoria es siempre nuestra, sentencia Rodong Sinmun

    　Pyongyang, 7 de abril (ATCC) -- Recientemente Estados Unidos publico el "informe de la estrategia para la seguridad nacional" que sintetiza el aspecto principal de su politica exterior. En ella la administracion Bush volvio a calificar a la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea de "tirania" revelando su abierta intencion de darle "golpe preventivo". 　Los belicistas norteamericanos tratan de concluir pronto la guerra coreana en el "caso de emergencia" mediante la movilizacion general de sus enormes recursos humanos y materiales, pero se equivocan grandemente por su absoluta ignorancia sobre la capacidad de la RPDC.
    　Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual insertado en su numero del dia 7 y prosigue:
    　La victoria es siempre nuestra, porque tenemos el arma de la unidad monolitica entre el lider, el partido y las masas mas poderosas que el artefacto nuclear. Es ilimitada la fuerza de la unidad monolitica entre el partido, el ejercito y el pueblo en torno a la Direccion de la Revolucion.
    　Nuestro ejercito popular esta dispuesto plenamente a frustrar con un demoledor golpe cualquier invasion armada de los imperialistas.
    　La RPDC es un pais en que todo el pueblo esta armado y todo el pais esta fortificado. Tanto nuestra zona del frente como nuestra retaguardia y profundidad del pais son inexpugnables. Es firme nuestra disposicion.
    　Gozamos de la direccion del Dirigente Kim Jong Il, invencible y genial comandante. El es destacado estratega militar, general insigne, poseedor de la gran presciencia, perspicacia, audacia y decision, tactica, clarividencia y arte de direccion militares incomparables con nadie.
    　La decision y la orden del Comandante Supremo son precisamente nuestras victorias. 　La nueva guerra coreana sera una verdadera guerra del siglo 21. A diferencia de la guerra de Irak responderemos con canonazos y misiles a los canonazos y misiles de los imperialistas norteamericanos y con diez y cien balas a una bala de estos. 　La guerra entre la RPDC y EE.UU. no terminara solo como la segunda guerra coreana. Los belicistas norteamericanos deben darse clara cuenta de eso y actuar con prudencia.
    　Nuestro heroico ejercito y pueblo derrotaron en una generacion a los dos poderosos imperialismos. La Guerra de Liberacion de la Patria en la decada de 1950, el incidente del barco espia armado "Pueblo", el caso del avion espia "EC-121", el incidente del hacha en Phanmunjom y otros demostraron que nuestro ejercito y pueblo salieron siempre victoriosos de la larga confrontacion de fuerza con los yanquis. Estados Unidos no sopesa el limite del espiritu y la fuerza de nuestro ejercito y pueblo. 　Estos aprecian la paz y no desean la guerra. Pero si los enemigos se atreven a tocar nuestra tierra, aunque sea 0.001 mm, pondremos en accion toda la potencialidad para asestarles un golpe de represalia mil veces mas duro.
    　El ataque preventivo no es la posesion exclusiva de Estados Unidos.

Simposio Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnica

     Pyongyang, 7 de abril (ATCC) -- Tuvo lugar los dias 5 y 6 en esta capital el Simposio Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnica. En el foro participaron Pyon Yong Rip, presidente de la Academia Estatal de Ciencias, Ri Song Uk, presidente de la Asociacion Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnica, cientificos y tecnicos.
    Tambien estuvieron presentes la delegacion de la parte surcoreana encabezada por Chae Yong Bok, presidente de la Confederacion de Entidades Cientificas y Tecnicas, Song Tong Sik, presidente de la Asociacion de Cientificos y Tecnicos Coreanos Residentes en China y otros sabios, la delegacion de coreanos residentes en EE.UU. dirigida por Song Ki Roe, presidente de la Asociacion de Cientificos y Tecnicos Coreanos Residentes en EE.UU., y Ryang Yong Bu, cientifico coreano residente en Japon. En el foro hubo un discurso de apertura y otras intervenciones de felicitacion. Los oradores dijeron que bajo la bandera de la historica Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio deben unir la fuerza e inteligencia y fortalecer la solidaridad y cooperacion para desarrollar las ciencias y tecnicas y expresaron la esperanza de que este foro sirva de una significativa ocasion para contribuir activamente a la prosperidad de la nacion coreana.
    En el foro efectuado segun las secciones de tecnica de informatica, nano-tecnologia, la biotecnologia y la ingenieria ambiental fueron publicadas mas de 90 tesis de valor e intercambiadas amplias opiniones para desarrollarlas.
    El simposio, realizado en el periodo en que bajo la bandera de la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio todos los coreanos del Norte, el Sur y en ultramar incorporan unanimemente en los tres movimientos patrioticos por la reunificacion independiente, por la paz contra la guerra y por la gran unidad nacional, sirvio de un significado motivo para intercambiar los exitos y experiencias logrados por los cientificos y tecnicos de la nacion coreana y desarrollar la cooperacion e intercambio en el campo de ciencia y tecnica.
