Korean Army and People Called upon to Glorify Songun Era

     Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Papers Sunday in editorials dedicated to the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission say that the past ten-odd years when he has led the Korean revolution, assuming a heavy responsibility of the NDC chairman, were the unforgettable years which have witnessed a significant turn in strengthening the state and the revolutionary armed forces and the glorious years when the heroic stamina of the DPRK dynamically advancing toward a bright future, overcoming manifold difficulties, was brought into full play. Over the past more than ten years Kim Jong Il has ushered in a new history of building a great prosperous powerful nation in this land by leading the party, the army and people with his unique Songun politics, Songun revolutionary leadership, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:
    The DPRK led by him is a country of single-minded unity where the headquarters of the revolution and the army and people have formed a harmonious whole. It is only in the DPRK that the leader, the army and the people have formed unbreakable ties of kinship based on warm love, trust and noble moral obligation. The DPRK led by him is an invincible military power which defends the dignity of the nation with powerful national defence capability.
    The self-reliant national defence power of the DPRK has been remarkably strengthened. The whole army is replete with the spirit of devotedly defending the leader and all the servicepersons are reliably defending the country and socialism in the spirit of readily becoming human bombs, the spirit of suicide bombing. It has modern offensive and defensive means capable of coping with any war, the trait of attaching importance to arms prevails in the whole society and the all-people and nationwide defensive system has been firmly established. No force on earth can pounce upon the DPRK.
    Minju Joson says that the DPRK has a bright future as it has Kim Jong Il, an illustrious commander of Mt. Paektu and a politician of general type, at the head of the army and the state.

S. Korean Opposition Party Vows Anti-war Movement

     Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Members of the Democratic Workers' Party of south Korea reportedly made public a "declaration for peace in Phyongthaek" on Apr. 5. In the declaration they said that the relocation of the U.S. forces, in south Korea and the agreement on the "strategic flexibility" seriously threaten peace of the Korean Peninsula and that they would conduct an active movement for peace against war to check them.
    They stressed that they would mobilize all means to defend precious cultural assets, environmental conditions, eco-system and others in Phyongthaek from destruction by the expansion of the U.S. military base.

Holidays of DPRK Marked in Different Countries

     Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- The Day of the Sun and the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission were commemorated in different countries. A Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition was opened in Bulgaria and film shows, round-table talks and lectures held in the Czech Republic, Tanzania and Uganda in the period from March 30 to April 4. On display at the exhibition were works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and photos showing their undying feats, books introducing Korea, and handicraft works associated with the Korean nation's wisdom and talents. The director of the Sofia City Cultural Institute said at its opening ceremony that the Bulgarian people would have a better understanding of Korea through the exhibition. He wished the Korean people big success in their efforts for the prosperity and reunification of the country.
    The chairman of the Kutna Hora County Committee of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia said that the film show brought home to him the might of the Korean People's Army and the source of the invincibility of the DPRK and hardened his belief that nobody in the world can match such army and people. The secretary general of the Tanzanian National Coordinating Committee of the Juche Idea Study Groups noted in a lecture that the might of the Songun politics has been fully displayed in the DPRK mainly because it is the perfect socialist political mode fully supported by all the Korean people. Socialist Korea will make a long drive under the banner of Songun, he said.

Marathon Race for Mangyongdae Cup Held

     Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- The 19th International Marathon Race for Mangyongdae Cup was held here on Sunday in the run-up to the Day of the Sun. Its opening ceremony held at Kim Il Sung Stadium was attended by Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Tong Jong Ho, minister of Construction and Building-Materials Industries who is chairman of the DPRK Marathon Association, and others.
    Runners from South Africa, Norway, Romania, Botswana, China, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and the DPRK entered the stadium.
    Mun Jae Dok, chairman of the Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, in an opening address said that the marathon race offers a significant occasion in boosting exchange and cooperation in sports field among different countries and jointly developing marathon technique.
    The marathoners left the stadium and ran through the Arch of Triumph, Hyoksin Street, Yongung Street, Chollima Street, Rakwon Street and Kwangbok Street to the turn in Youth Hero Motorway and returned to the destination. A result of the race was published at the closing ceremony.
    DPRK marathoners Ri Kyong Chol and Jo Pun Hui who placed the first at the race were awarded trophy cups and gold medals, DPRK marathoners Ri Kum Song and Jong Yong Ok who placed the second silver medals and a Zimbabwean marathoner and DPRK marathoner Kim Kum Ok who placed the third bronze medals.

Performance Given to Open Moranbong Theater

     Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Moranbong Theater has been rebuilt on a modernization basis as an edifice of national value in the Songun era. The theatre on Moran Hill was opened on the occasion of the Day of the Sun. Its architectural form and content have been renovated on the best level and its stage, auditorium, training room, make-up room and other parts have been rebuilt to be peculiar and perfect in terms of plastic art.
    The theater was built on the initiative of President Kim Il Sung after the country's liberation.
    Here he guided major party and state meetings, including the fourth and the fifth plenary meetings of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, 73 sessions of the Supreme People's Assembly and the Joint Conference of Representatives of Political Parties and Public Organizations in North and South Korea and watched art performances and conducted external activities on more than 200 occasions. At the first SPA session held here he was elected as head of state according to the unanimous desire of all the Koreans and the foundation of the DPRK was proclaimed here.
    An opening performance was given by the State Symphony Orchestra at the theatre today.
    The performance began with movement no. 4 "Glory to the General" of symphony suite "Long Road of Songun Leadership". The repertoire included orchestral music "Thunder on Jong Il Peak," "Arirang", "Pass Mungyong" and "Rich Harvest Comes to the Chongsan Plain", a collection of famous music such as orchestral music "Don't Advance, Night of Pyongyang."
    The performance of high ideological and artistic value fully proved the validity of the WPK's policy on literature and art as it represented rich national aroma of the Juche-oriented combined orchestral music, various genre peculiar to orchestra and rich orchestral nature.
    It was appreciated by Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Jon Pyong Ho, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop and others and deputies to the SPA.
    Also among the audience were deputies to the SPA from the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) including Ho Jong Man, chief vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee.

Kim Jong Il Inspects Sub-Unit of KPA Unit

     Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, inspected the tank and armored car drivers training sub-unit of KPA Unit 604. He acquainted himself with the sub-unit's performance of duty. Then he mounted an observation platform to watch servicemen in training.
    They strikingly demonstrated that they have been fully prepared to successfully carry out any duty under any circumstances through their tireless actual maneuvers, bearing in mind his instruction that it is an important need of a modern warfare to increase the speed of the transport of a unit and its maneuverability.
    He was satisfied to learn that the sub-unit has built a training ground suited to the contents of training and its features and waged a dynamic drive to carry through the policy of training laid down by the WPK, thus training many skilled tank and armored car drivers.
    Going round military lecture rooms, he acquainted himself in detail with how trainees are educated.
    It is very good for the sub-unit to have built well lecture rooms to give all the trainees sufficient serviceable knowledge needed for actual battles and effectively operated them for education and training, he said, stressing the need to thoroughly establish Juche in military education in order to fully prepare the servicepersons to be a-match-for-a hundred stalwart combatants.
    He took deep care of the service and living of the soldiers, making the rounds of an education room, a mess hall, a kitchen, a wash-cum-bath house, a non-staple food store, a barn and other places of the sub-unit.
    He was pleased to learn that the sub-unit has provided its servicepersons with good living conditions by building sufficient entertainment and educational and supply facilities. He praised such revolutionary fighting traits and lifestyle of the servicepersons as managing their economic life tenaciously and methodically just as the anti-Japanese guerrillas managed their unit.
    He had a photo session with the servicepersons of the sub-unit. He was accompanied by KPA Generals Ri Myong Su, Hyon Chol Hae and Pak Jae Gyong, Ri Yong Chol and Ri Jae Il, first vice department directors of the C.C., WPK, and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the same.

Day of Sun Commemorated Abroad

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- Meetings, seminar, lecture and reading session were held in Karachi and Lahore of Pakistan and Kinshasa of Democratic Congo and by the Congolese Socialist Party and Marien Ngouabi University of Congo from March 28 to 31 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun. Displayed in the venues of the functions were photos dealing with the glorious and brilliant revolutionary history of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and their immortal exploits.
    Chairman of the National Workers' Party of Pakistan Abid Hussein and President of the Pakistan Socialist Party C. R. Aslam made speeches at the meetings. They said that Kim Il Sung founded the Juche idea and Songun idea based on it, providing a powerful ideological and theoretical weapon for accomplishing the cause of independence against imperialism and making an immortal contribution to the Korean revolution and the accomplishment of the cause of global independence with his energetic leadership.
    Chairman of the National Committee of the Genuine Lumumbist Patriotic Party of Democratic Congo Otete Gaston Mboyo noted that the immortal exploits performed by the President, a great thinker and distinguished statesman, would be always remembered by humankind.
    General Secretary of the Congolese Socialist Party Leon Nzokene in his lecture entitled "The eternal Party of Comrade Kim Il Sung" introduced in detail the history of the Workers' Party of Korea which has always emerged victorious under the leadership of the peerlessly great persons.
    Letters to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings held in Pakistan.

Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Pakistan

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il's famous work "Let Us Reunify the Country Independently and Peacefully through the Great Unity of the Entire Nation" was brought out in booklet by the Victorial Publishing House of Pakistan on April 3. The work published on April 18, Juche 87 (1998), clarified the five-point policy of great unity of the whole nation which call on all Koreans to unite on the principle of national independence under the banner of patriotism and national reunification, improve the north-south relations, struggle against foreign domination and interference and the anti-reunification forces, develop mutual visits, contacts and dialogue and consolidate solidarity and alliance.

Special Bulletin Released in Nepal

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- The Nepal-Korea Friendship Association released a special bulletin titled "Great Politician, Great Brilliant Commander Kim Jong Il" on Mar. 31 on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission. The bulletin said that Kim Jong Il, endowed with personality and qualifications as an outstanding brilliant commander, has pursued the Songun politics, protecting the destiny of the country and the people and developing the DPRK. The DPRK has given top priority to the national defence, frustrating the moves of the imperialist allied forces to isolate and stifle it and defending socialism by dint of single-minded unity and strong military power, it added.

New Book Sees Light

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- The book "Collection of Revolutionary History of Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" Vol. 9 edited by the History Institute of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was published by the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House. The book has three parts and an appendix. It deals with materials on the revolutionary activities of Kim Il Sung from February to October of Juche 25 (1936). The first part of the book carries his reminiscences telling how he laid down a new strategic policy to bring about a great upswing in the overall Korean revolution centered on the anti-Japanese armed struggle and led the struggle to strengthen the main force of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA), found the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland and establish a base in Mt. Paektu. The second part of the book carries reminiscences of commanding officers and soldiers of the KPRA and members of the revolutionary organizations telling about the revolutionary activities conducted by Kim Il Sung while advancing into the area of Mt. Paektu from Xiaojiazhihe pursuant to the policy laid down at the Nanhutou Meeting. The third part of the book deals with facts about his revolutionary activities from February to October of Juche 25 (1936).

More Gifts Displayed at International Friendship Exhibition

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- More than 1,050 gifts presented to President Kim Il Sung, anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk and leader Kim Jong Il by revolutionary people of the world in 2005 have been added to the International Friendship Exhibition to be displayed in several rooms in a peculiar manner. Among them are a stationery box presented to Kim Il Sung by Thaksin Shinawatra, leader of the Thai Rak Thai Party, a wooden handicraft "Carriage" presented to him by the foreign minister of Thailand, and a jewel handicraft "Tree of Hope" from Marcia de Campos Pereira, president of the Women's International Democratic Federation. On display at the general review room are silk banners presented to Kim Jong Suk by the chairman of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung National Memorial Commission, Nepal, and the representative of the Society of the Japan-Korea Culture and a glassware for fruits by the Swiss Committee for Supporting Korea's Independent and Peaceful Reunification.
    On display in the newly arranged room are gifts Kim Jong Il received from heads of state of various countries. They include a ceramic vase presented by Russian President Putin, an oil painting "Scenery of Pinar del Rio Province" by Fidel Castro Ruz, first secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Cuba, president of the Council of State and president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, a decorative porcelain dish by Abdullah II, king of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and a wooden sculpture "African" by Zambian President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa.
    Also on display there are a glass craftwork "Daily Development" sent by Tang Jiaxuan, state councilor of China, a seal ivory product by K. Pulikovski, former special presidential envoy to the Far Eastern region of Russian, and a silver-plated wooden tray by Megawati Soekarnoputri, former Indonesian president, six silver dishes and six silver spoons by Vishwanath, director general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, and gifts by Guy Dupre, secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea, Jitendra Sharma, president of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers, and other personages of international and regional organizations.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Election as NDC Chairman Marked

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- An evening gala of young vanguard of the Ministry of People's Security was held at the ministry and a meeting of agricultural workers on the educational ground of the Unryul Revolutionary Museum on April 7 to celebrate the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission. Present at the evening gala were Minister Ju Sang Song, Director of the Political Department Ji Yong Chun and other leading officials of the Ministry of People's Security and young servicepersons of the ministry.
    In the venue of the evening gala began with "Song of General Kim Jong Il" such songs as "Our General Is Best", "Twelve Months of Songun Victory", "Let's Join in the Army of the General" and "Nilliri for Songun" were resounded one after another, adding delight to the dancing servicepersons.
    The participants danced full of vigor to the tune of such songs as "Let's Uphold Our General", "Pride of Youth" and "Arirang for Prosperity," waving flags of the supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, Party flags and flags of the DPRK. At the meeting of agricultural workers, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea Kang Chang Uk made a congratulatory address, which was followed by speeches.
    The speakers recalled that Kim Jong Il put forward the policies of bringing a radical turn in seed improvement and potato farming, double-cropping and soya bean cultivation and has energetically led the drive for their implementation. They noted that the land of the country was realigned as befitting the socialist land and the projects of Kaechon-Lake Thaesong and Paekma-Cholsan waterways were completed under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il, thus making a breakthrough for more successful farming.
    They called for working hard to make a new leap forward in the agricultural production and doing farm work well this year to decisively solve the food problem. Poem "Oath Taken before the Brilliant Commander of Songun" was recited at the meeting.
    At the end of the meeting an art performance was given.

Military Attaches' Corps Visits Revolutionary Site

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- The military attaches' corps here Friday visited the Phyongchon Revolutionary Site on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission. The visitors went round the relics and materials at the site, being briefed about the fact that President Kim Il Sung selected the site for the first ordnance manufactory to build the Juche-oriented national defence industry and personally had a test-fire with submachine guns manufactured by Korean workers themselves at the manufactory while indicating the orientation and ways for its development, and about the undying exploits of the three generals of Mt. Paektu for the development of the national defence industry.
    They made an entry in the visitor's book.
    Giraldo Abreu Morales, military attache of the Cuban Embassy who is doyen of the corps, wrote that Kim Il Sung attached great efforts to the building of national defence industry to turn the country into a powerful state to cope with the enemy's aggressive moves after its liberation.
    The members of the military attaches' corps warmly congratulate Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il, who is always winning victory after victory with his unique Songun revolutionary leadership by inheriting Kim Il Sung's cause of army building, on the 13th anniversary of his election as NDC chairman, he wrote.

National Art Exhibition Opens

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A national art exhibition was opened at the Korean Art Gallery on April 7 to commemorate the Day of the Sun, the greatest auspicious April holiday of the Korean nation. Displayed at the exhibition hall are Korean paintings, oil and acrylic paintings, posters and many other art works dealing with the undying feats President Kim Il Sung performed for the revolutionary cause of Juche and the leadership traits of Kim Jong Il who has brilliantly carried forward the revolutionary cause of Kim Il Sung. Minister of Culture Kim Jin Song made an opening address and then the participants looked round the art works.
    Among the works are oil painting "The Fatherly Leader Standing in Front of His Old Home in Mangyongdae", acrylic painting "The Great Sun of the World People", Korean painting "Kalun in Spring" and oil painting "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung Having Conversation with Peasants before the Agrarian Reform" which help the visitors emotionally recall the immortal personality of Kim Il Sung as a great man and his brilliant revolutionary life.
    There are also such works as Korean painting "Leaving Footprints for Great Songun Leadership" and poster "Let's Uphold Supreme Commander Comrade Kim Jong Il with Loyalty!" dealing with the extraordinary exploits of Kim Il Sung who gave a steady continuity to the revolutionary leadership for Songun, and acrylic painting "Visiting the Snowy Tabaksol Post" and poster "The Songun Policy of Our Party Is a Treasured Sword for Sure Victory!" showing the greatness of Kim Jong Il.

Wonder in Sky over Secret Camp in Mt. Paektu

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- There took place a wonder in the sky over the secret camp in Mt. Paektu at a time when all the servicepersons and people of the DPRK are celebrating the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the National Defence Commission with splendor. There appeared in the sky a double solar halo reminiscent of a rainbow at 7:00 a.m. on April 6, a rare phenomenon.
    That day the temperature in the area covered with 75 cm of snow registered 11.2 deg. below zero or 1.5 deg. higher than that of last year.
    Snow was seen flying dazzlingly in the area when the sun rose from the eastern sky clad in thin clouds in the early morning. It was against this background that a big and bright double solar halo, not yet in full round shape, appeared in the sky over the camp at the foot of Jong Il Peak.
    This spectacular scenery lasted for 40 minutes.
    The officials of the meteorological station at the camp in Mt. Paektu said that it was a very rare natural phenomenon, the first of its kind in the history of meteorological observation in the area.
    Officials and other working people were very pleased to say that the double solar halo that appeared in the sky over the holy land of the Korean revolution in the run-up to the April auspicious jubilee reflects the warm congratulations the servicepersons and people are offering to Kim Jong Il.

Servicepersons of Ministry of People's Security Vow Their Loyalty

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A meeting of servicepersons of the Ministry of People's Security was held in the plaza of the Kumsusan Memorial Palace on April 7 to vow to uphold the Songun idea and leadership of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il with loyalty on the significant Day of the Sun. Present at the meeting were Minister of People's Security Ju Sang Song, Director of the Political Department of the ministry Ji Yong Chun, senior officials of the ministry, public security officials and persons in Pyongyang and local areas and servicepersons of the Korean People's Security Forces.
    Led by the minister, all the participants made a solemn pledge to hold President Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the sun of Juche forever and remain true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il and thus exalt the honor of being political protectors of the Workers' Party of Korea in defending the country and building a great prosperous powerful socialist nation.
    They reiterated the will of all the members of the people's security institutions to become first-line protectors devotedly defending the headquarters of the revolution and ardent Songun revolutionary comrades who take the lead in upholding Kim Jong Il's Songun idea and leadership.
    They pledged themselves to thoroughly establish state law and order and become staunch defenders of the Korean-style socialist system and true servants who devotedly work for the people and dedicate everything to protecting their interests, lives and properties.
    They also vowed to continue making a long journey for the Songun revolution till its victory under the leadership of Kim Jong Il no matter how the world may change and effect a revolutionary turn in the work to preserve people's security and thus bring earlier the day of the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche. The meeting closed with a chorus of the song "We Will Defend the Headquarters of Revolution with Our Lives".
    Then its participants marched past the tribune of honor in fine array. Meanwhile, a large chorus "Devotedly Defending the Leader Is Our Life" was presented by servicepersons of the Korean People's Security Forces at the ministry on the same day to commemorate the Day of the Sun.

Commemorative Stamp Published

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A commemorative stamp (a kind of stamp) was issued in the DPRK to mark the Day of the Sun (April 15). Printed on the upper part of the stamp are words "In commemoration of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's birthday", "April 15" and "The Day of the Sun" and reflected in its centre are Kimilsungias in full bloom.
    The greatness of President Kim Il Sung is illustrated with the Sun's flower which blooms in different parts of the world in reflection of the boundless reverence of the Korean people and the world revolutionary people for him. The face value of the stamp is 3 won.

Suppression of Anti-war Protestors in S. Korea

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- The Defence Ministry of south Korea has been getting overheated in crackdown upon the members of civic and public organizations who held a surprise demonstration to frustrate the joint landing exercises of the U.S. troops and south Korean army in the beach of Manripho in Thaean County, South Chungchong Province on March 30, according to south Korea's Yonhap news. On April 2 the ministry said that any illegal demonstration in the ground of joint landing exercises cannot be pardoned and the military would resolutely deal with such illegal action.
    Earlier, on April 1 it reported to the police office more than 20 demonstrators including Ri Kyu Jae, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification, on the charge of "hampering the execution of special official duty".
    The ferocious action of the south Korean military authorities is a frontal challenge to all the fellow countrymen aspiring after peace and reunification, and it clearly shows who really wants peace and who does not want reunification.

Nat’l Meeting Marks 13th anniv. of Kim Jong Il's Election as NDC Chairman

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A national meeting was held at the April 25 House of Culture here on Saturday to celebrate the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission. The meeting was attended by Kim Yong Nam, Jo Myong Rok, Pak Pong Ju, Kim Yong Chun, Jon Pyong Ho and others.
    Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Kim Il Chol, member of the DPRK NDC and minister of the People's Armed Forces, in a report said that Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the NDC marked an event of special mention as it was of epochal significance in guaranteeing a bright future of the country and the development of the Korean revolution in the future.
    The course of the revolution covered by the DPRK with him holding the chairmanship of the NDC represented years of a historic change as it has achieved a miraculous victory in its endeavors to defend socialism in the do-or-die spirit despite the unprecedentedly grim hardships and difficulties and paved a broad avenue for building a great prosperous powerful nation, he noted, and continued:
    Shouldering upon himself the heavy responsibility as NDC chairman, Kim Jong Il has fully provided the Songun revolutionary leadership to all aspects of state construction and activities, consolidating the Korean-style socialist state system and bringing about a great turn in the revolution and construction. The military position of the Korean revolution with the invincible KPA as the core has been consolidated as firm as an iron wall and the DPRK proudly emerged a world military power with nuclear deterrent for self-defence. This is a great victory of the outstanding Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il and the Workers' Party of Korea's Songun politics and a most striking proof of its validity and might. On the tasks facing the whole party and army and all the people to implement the WPK's Songun leadership, the reporter underscored the need to defend and glorify President Kim Il Sung's idea and line on self-reliant defence building and his immortal exploits for it generation after generation and resolutely safeguard Kim Jong Il politically and ideologically and with lives in any adversity.
    He further said:
    The People's Army should intensify the movement to win the title of the O Jung Hup-led 7th regiment and thus augment its politico-ideological and military technological might and fully demonstrate its invincible capability as the ranks of human bullets and bombs devotedly defending the leader and a strong revolutionary army that has inherited the spirit of Mt. Paektu.
    It is necessary to establish the trait of attaching importance to the army throughout the society, organize and conduct all work on the principle of giving priority to the military affairs and thus thoroughly implement the Party's military line for self-defence with a view to consolidating the achievements already made in the efforts to place all the people under arms and turn the whole country into a fortress. We should give priority to the development of the national defence industry as required by the Songun era so as to convert it into a powerful defence industry in the 21st century capable of providing a sure military technological guarantee for the security of the country and the victorious advance of the revolution and increase the military deterrent of the country in every way.
    It is an essential requirement for the successful implementation of the Party's Songun revolutionary line to fully ensure the function and role of the NDC. It is necessary to unconditionally accept and implement to the letter any order and instruction of the NDC and thus more thoroughly establish Kim Jong Il's unitary leadership over the defence work.
    It is an important task facing us today to step up the general march for Songun revolution once again and thus augment the overall state power of the country with the military power as the core and bring about a decisive turn in economic construction and in the improvement of the standard of the people's living.
    It is necessary to wage a dynamic patriotic movement for independent reunification, peace against war and great national unity under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration in order to decisively foil the machinations of the separatist forces at home and abroad and bring about a fresh epochal phase in the movement for national reunification.
    The situation is growing tenser and more acute on the Korean Peninsula than ever before due to the U.S. ever-more undisguised hostile policy toward the DPRK and its reckless military provocations.
    The U.S. is now talking about the six-party talks but in fact, it is zealously inciting hostility toward the DPRK while floating all sorts of sheer fictions, utterly indifferent to the talks. It is only watching for every chance to attack the DPRK while staging large-scale war exercises after listing it as a target of "preemptive attack." A preemptive attack is not monopoly of the U.S. and the DPRK will never sit idle till it is exposed to a preemptive attack of the U.S.

KCNA Blasts U.S. Human Rights Racket against DPRK

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- The United States in its recent 2005-2006 record "Supporting Human Rights and Democracy" malignantly slandered the DPRK again. Its contents only increase the aversion to the charade of "human rights and democracy" as it is peppered with U.S. oft-repeated sheer lies.
    The Bush bellicose group, a group of fascists in the 21st century, is not entitled to talk about human rights and democracy.
    Is the U.S. not a typical barren land of human rights as it legalizes undisguised wiretapping and constant watch of residents and denies them elementary political rights and vital rights? The U.S., regarding aggression and war, exploitation and pillage as the principal means of its existence prompted by misanthropy, has set up prisons in Iraq, Guantanamo and various other parts of the world and practiced mediaeval torture methods only to stun the world. Is it not the worst human rights abuser in the world? It is the U.S. that has earned an ill-fame as a modern-type fascist state. Such being a hard fact, the U.S. is talking about "human rights performance" in sovereign states. This only provokes the world people's laughter. That is why the international community ridicules the U.S., urging it to mind its P's and Q's whenever it cries out for "human rights".
    The Bush administration is pressurizing other countries to accept American-style "liberal democracy" rejected by the people in different parts of the world. This is a vicious challenge to genuine freedom and democracy as it is intended to remodel the world on the American pattern at any cost. This is nothing but a day dream unrealizable in the 21st century.
    The Bush fascist group's hysteria of "human rights and democracy" is no more than a vivid expression of contemporary megalomania of the U.S. and its mental and moral frustration.
    The evermore frantic anti-DPRK smear campaign of the U.S., the enemy of freedom and democracy, only reinforces its people's faith in Korean-style socialism centred on the masses and makes the single-minded unity of its army and people around the supreme headquarters stronger than ever before.

Preemptive Attack not Monopoly of U.S., Warns Kim Il Chol

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A preemptive attack is not monopoly of the U.S. and the DPRK will never sit idle till it is exposed to a preemptive attack of the U.S., warned Vice Marshal of the Korean People's Army Kim Il Chol, member of the DPRK National Defence Commission and minister of the People's Armed Forces. This warning came from his report at a national meeting held at the April 25 House of Culture here on Saturday to mark the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as NDC chairman.

Dancing Party of Ministry of People's Armed Forces Held

     Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A dancing party of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces was held at Jonsung Square here Saturday to mark the 13th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission. Its participants were replete with the honor and pride of holding him in high esteem as NDC chairman.
    The square turned into a veritable sea of dancers as "Song of General Kim Jong Il" reverberated through it.
    They danced to the tune of such songs as "Let's Sing of Our Pride of Being under the Guidance of the General", "Thunder on Jong Il Peak", "Our General Is Best", "General on a Galloping White Horse" and "We Will Defend the Headquarters of Revolution With Our Lives," renewing their unshakable will to devotedly safeguard Kim Jong Il with arms, keep themselves always ready to go into action and fulfill their honorable duty as the main force for the revolution.
    They were joined by Jo Myong Rok, director of the General Political Department of the Korean People's Army, Kim Yong Chun, chief of the KPA General Staff, Kim Il Chol, minister of the People's Armed Forces, leading officials of the ministry and servicepersons.

Acto por 13 aniversario de eleccion de Kim Jong Il como titular del CDN

    　Pyongyang, 8 de abril (ATCC) -- Tuvo lugar el dia 8 en la capitalina Casa Cultural 25 de Abril el acto central por el 13 aniversario de la eleccion del Dirigente Kim Jong Il como Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea. Asistieron al conclave Kim Yong Nam, Jo Myong Rok, Pak Pong Ju, Kim Yong Chun, Jon Pyong Ho y otros cuadros.
    El informe estuvo a cargo del vicemariscal del Ejercito Popular de Corea Kim Il Chol, miembro del CDN de la RPDC y ministro de las Fuerzas Armadas Populares. La eleccion del Dirigente como Presidente del CDN devino un acontecimiento especial de importancia trascendental para el porvenir de la patria y el desarrollo de la Revolucion Coreana, comenzo el orador y prosiguio:
    La trayectoria revolucionaria, que recorrio la RPDC teniendo al Dirigente en el puesto cimero del CDN, la componen dias de cambios historicos en que se lograron victorias milagrosas en la batalla de defensa al socialismo superando con la lucha de vida o muerte pruebas y dificultades sin precedentes y se abrio una brecha en la construccion de una gran potencia prospera.
    Fungiendo ese cargo tan importante, el Dirigente llevo a cabo de manera consecuente la direccion sobre la revolucion mediante el Songun (priorizacion militar) en todas las areas de la construccion y las actividades del Estado. De esta manera, consolido el sistema estatal socialista al estilo coreano y registro grandes avances en la revolucion y la construccion.
    Se fortifico como un baluarte inexpugnable la posicion militar de la Revolucion Coreana, cuyo grueso es el invencible y fuerte Ejercito Popular de Corea, y la RPDC emergio como digna potencia militar a nivel mundial con poderosas fuerzas nucleares disuasivas. Estos hechos resultan una gran victoria de la extraordinaria guia del Dirigente sobre la revolucion mediante el Songun y la politica homonima del Partido del Trabajo de Corea y pruebas mas contundentes de su justeza y potencialidad. 　A todo el partido, todo el ejercito y todo el pueblo les incumben las tareas para materializar la direccion del Songun del PTC.
    　Deben defender y transmitir de generacion en generacion la idea y la linea presentadas por el Presidente Kim Il Sung en materia de construccion de defensa nacional y sus meritos alcanzados en esta labor y, aun en cualesquier circunstancias dificiles, han de defender en lo politico e ideologico y a riesgo de la vida al Dirigente Kim Jong Il.
    　Al profundizar el movimiento por la obtencion del titulo de Septimo Regimiento de O Jung Hup, el ejercito popular debe consolidar el poderio politico-ideologico y militar-tecnico de si mismo para demostrar el invencible e impetuoso aspecto de las filas de balas y bombas dispuestas a defender a costa de la vida al Lider y del poderoso ejercito revolucionario del monte Paektu.
    　Debemos hacer reinar en toda la sociedad el espiritu de dar prioridad a los asuntos militares, organizar todas las labores en el principio de priorizacion militar y llevar a cabo la linea militar de autodefensa del partido para agrandar los exitos ya alcanzados en el armamento de todo el pueblo y la fortificacion de todo el pais. 　Conforme a la demanda de la epoca del Songun, debemos desarrollar con preferencia la industria de defensa nacional para convertirla en una potencial rama del siglo 21 capaz de garantizar en lo militar y tecnico la seguridad de la patria y el avance victorioso de la revolucion y fortalecer por todos los medios las fuerzas armadas disuasivas del pais.

    La importante tarea de lucha que se presenta hoy ante nosotros es volver a dar acicate a la marcha general de la revolucion del Songun para consolidar firme y generalmente el poder estatal, cuyo nucleo es la fuerza militar, y traer un cambio decisivo en la construccion economica y la mejora de vida popular. Debemos desarrollar dinamicamente los tres movimientos patrioticos por la reunificacion independiente, por la paz contra la guerra y por la gran unidad nacional bajo la bandera de la Declaracion Conjunta Norte-Sur del 15 de Junio para frustrar tajantemente las maniobras de las fuerzas divisionistas internas y externas y abrir una nueva coyuntura trascendental en la realizacion de la reunificacion de la patria. Hoy, debido a la recrudescente politica de hostilidad a Corea de EE.UU. y sus insensatas maniobras de provocacion militar, en la Peninsula Coreana se crea una situacion que se torna cada dia mas tensa y aguda.
    EE.UU. habla de las conversaciones a 6 bandas, pero en realidad no les presta ninguna atencion. Al difundir absurdos rumores de toda indole, inculca el sentimiento hostil a la RPDC y tras catalogarla en la lista de los blancos del "ataque preventivo", ejercita una guerra de gran dimension contra ella acechando la oportunidad para llevarla a efecto.
    El ataque preventivo no es cosa monopolizada por EE.UU. y nunca estaremos con brazos cruzados hasta cuando nos sorprenda el imperio.
    El ejercito y el pueblo de Corea observaran con alta vigilancia revolucionaria todos los movimientos de EE.UU.
    Si este desencadena por fin la guerra de agresion, aniquilaremos despiadadamente a los enemigos movilizando todo el poderio politico e ideologico y la potencialidad militar consolidados de siglo a siglo bajo la direccion del gran General insigne del Songun y pondremos fin a la confrontacion antiyanqui.

Mas de mil 50 regalos nuevamente exhibidos

     Pyongyang, 8 de abril (ATCC) -- En varias salas de la Exposicion Permanente de Amistad Internacional fueron exhibidos nuevamente mas de mil cincuenta regalos enviados al Presidente Kim Il Sung, la heroina de lucha antijaponesa Kim Jong Suk y el Dirigente Kim Jong Il por los pueblos revolucionarios del mundo. Entre ellos figuran la caja de utiles de escritorio regalada por Thaksin Shinawatra, lider del Partido Rak Thai de Tailandia, la pieza artesana de madera "Carruaje" enviada por Kantathi Suphamongkhon, canciller del Reino de Tailandia, y la pieza artesana hecha con polvos de piedra preciosa "Arbol de esperanza" dirigida por Marcia de Campos Pereira, presidenta de la Federacion Democratica Internacional de Mujeres, al Presidente Kim Il Sung.
    En la sala de guia general estan exhibidas las banderas de felicitacion dirigidas por el presidente del Comite Nacional de Nepal de Recordacion al Gran Lider, camarada Kim Il Sung, y el representante de la Sociedad para Cultura Japon-Corea, y la vasija de vidrio para frutas regalada por el comite suizo de apoyo a la reunificacion independiente y pacifica de Corea a Kim Jong Suk.
    En una sala recien acondicionada se ven el florero de ceramica enviado por Putin, presidente de la Federacion Rusa, la pintura al oleo "Paisaje natural de la provincia del Pinar del Rio" despachada por Fidel Castro Ruz, primer secretario del Comite Central del Partido Comunista de Cuba y presidente de los Consejos de Estado y de Ministros de la Republica de Cuba; el plato de ceramica para adorno enviado por Abdullah II, rey del Reino Hachemita de Jordania; la escultura de madera "Africano" despachada por Levy Patrick Mwanawasa, presidente de la Republica de Zambia, y otros regalos de jefes de Estado de varios paises.
    Figuran tambien la pieza artesana de vidrio "Desarrollase de dia en dia" regalada por Tang Jiaxuan, miembro del Consejo de Estado de la Republica Popular China, la pieza artesana de marfil de morsa enviada por Konstantin Borisovich Pulikovski, ex-delegado plenipotenciario del presidente ruso en el Lejano Oriente, y la bandeja de madera con adorno de plata dirigida por Megawati Soekarnoputri, ex-presidenta de la Republica de Indonesia.
    Se ven, ademas, 6 vasijas y el mismo numero de cucharas de plata enviados por Vishwanath, director general del Instituto internacional de la Idea Juche, y regalos de Guy Dupre, secretario general del Comite Internacional de Enlace por la Reunificacion y la Paz en Corea, Jitendra Sharma, presidente de la Asociacion Internacional de Juristas Democratas y de otras personalidades de las organizaciones internacionales y regionales.

Exhibicion central de bellas artes por Dia del Sol

    　Pyongyang, 8 de abril (ATCC) -- Quedo inaugurada el dia 7 en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Corea la Exhibicion Central de Bellas Artes en homenaje al Dia del Sol (15 de abril, cumpleanos del Presidente Kim Il Sung) - la mas jubilosa fiesta de la nacion. Estan exhibidas numerosas piezas de bellas artes, entre otras, la pintura al oleo, la pintura al estilo coreano, la acrilica y afiches que demuestran las inmortales hazanas del Presidente Kim Il Sung acumuladas en la realizacion de la causa revolucionaria de Juche y los rasgos de direccion del Dirigente Kim Jong Il quien la lleva adelante. 　Entre ellas figuran la pintura al oleo "El Lider padre hallandose de pie frente a la casa natal de Mangyongdae", la acrilica "El gran Sol de los pueblos del mundo", el dibujo al estilo coreano "La primavera de Kalun", la pintura al oleo "El gran Lider, camarada Kim Il Sung departiendo con los campesinos en visperas de la reforma agraria" y otras que demuestran la gran personalidad del Presidente y su brillante vida revolucionaria. Tambien se ven exhibidas la pintura al estilo coreano "Dejando grandes huellas del Songun (priorizacion militar)" y el afiche "!Enaltezcamos con fidelidad al Comandante Supremo Kim Jong Il!" y otras obras que reflejan las hazanas sobresalientes del Presidente quien hizo continuar con firmeza la direccion revolucionaria del Songun y la pintura acrilica "Visitando un puesto de pinos nevado" y el cartel "!La politica de Songun de nuestro partido es un invencible remedio!" y otras obras que demuestran la noble personalidad del Dirigente Kim Jong Il.
    Kim Jin Song, ministro de Cultura, pronuncio un discurso de apertura. 　Acto seguido, los participantes vieron las obras de bellas artes exhibidas.

ATCC comenta "informe de DDHH y democracia" de EE.UU

    　Pyongyang, 8 de abril (ATCC) -- Estados Unidos, en su recien publicado "informe de derechos humanos y democracia" para 2005-2006, volvio a censurar siniestramente a la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea valiendose de datos falsos repetidos siempre. La banda belicosa de Bush, integrada por fascistas del siglo 21, no tiene ni derecho a hablar de DDHH y democracia.
    ?Cual es el ejemplo de un pais privado de DDHH que legaliza abiertamente la interceptacion y la constante vigilancia a los habitantes y niega hasta el elemental derecho politico y de vida del ser humano?
    ?Cual pais es el peor violador de DDHH que partiendo de su extremada misantropia, se entrega a la agresion, guerra, explotacion y pillaje y aplica a los presos metodos de torturas medievales en los campos de concentracion instalados en Irak, Guantanamo y otros lugares del mundo?
    Es justamente EE.UU., tristemente famoso como Estado fascista de cuno moderno. Es una payasada el que este pais hable de la "situacion de DDHH" de los paises soberanos.
    Por eso, cada vez que EE.UU. predica "DDHH", la sociedad internacional se burla de este diciendo que "se limpie el moco de su nariz".
    La administracion Bush intenta imponer la "democracia liberal" al estilo norteamericano, rechazada por doquier, lo cual es siniestro desafio a la autentica libertad y democracia.
    Esta teoria ya no puede convencer a nadie en el siglo 21.
    "DDHH y democracia" de que habla la banda fascista de Bush no pasan de ser una expresion de la megalomania y el fracaso espiritual y moral de EE.UU. Cuanto mas EE.UU., enemigo de libertad y democracia, arme la campana contra la RPDC calumniandola, tanto mas nos enorgullecemos del socialismo a nuestro estilo centrado en las masas populares y se fortalecera mil veces la unidad monolitica entre el ejercito y el pueblo de Corea, lograda consanguineamente en torno a la Direccion de la Revolucion.
