Performances of ASFAF Go on

     Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Performances of the 24th April Spring Friendship Art Festival went on, drawing ever-increasing audiences. Performances of the ASFAF continued on Apr. 14, its third day, at the People's Palace of Culture, the Ponghwa Art Theatre, the Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the State Theatrical Theatre, the Central Youth Hall, the Pyongyang International Cinema House, the Central Workers' Hall, the Yun I Sang Concert Hall and the Pyongyang Circus Theatre, attracting artistes, working people, youths and students, foreign guests and overseas Koreans.
    Foreign artistes and overseas Korean artistes staged colorful numbers such as choruses, mixed choruses and other vocal and instrumental music, dances and acrobatics.
    The performers in their repertoires represented the firm faith and will to hold President Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the sun of Juche forever and loudly sing of the Day of the Sun for all ages.
    The programs put on stages convinced audiences that the desire of progressive humankind to fully enjoy an independent and creative life will surely come true and the flower garden of arts singing of the idea of independence, peace and friendship will continue to flourish thanks to leader Kim Jong Il, brilliant commander of Songun. Mongolian and Russian artistes and Korean artistes from Japan and China highly praised the undying exploits Kim Jong Il has performed by firmly defending the country's sovereignty and dignity of the nation and devoting himself to the prosperity of the country, the people's happiness and the struggle to accomplish the human cause of independence in their programs including mixed vocal quartet "Song of General Kim Jong Il," male solo "General, Here Is the Forefront," a symphony suite and "Song of Three Prides."
    Performers fully displayed high artistic talents and skills in various numbers such as mixed chorus "Let Us Sing and Dance on the Stage of Spring Festival" and a male solo "Songun Arirang." They were highly honored and proud of having the chances to present the successes made in the development of arts.
    Foreign artistes impressively depicted their ardent love for their countries, national emotion, their people's noble spiritual world, optimistic life and diligent labor through lyric melodies and beautiful dances.
    Foreign artistes put on the stages "Aria of Lyudmila" from the opera "Ruslan and Lyudmila", an aria from the opera of Rossini "The Barber of Seville", "You Won't Go" from the opera "The Marriage of Figaro" composed by Mozart, "Live with Songs and Love" from the opera "Tosca" by Puccini and others in which they successfully represented the features of classical music with high artistry and skills for delicate expression.
    Working people presented bouquets to the performers on their successful performances. Separate performances were given by the Chinese art troupe, the Moscow State Academia Symphony Orchestra and the art troupe of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Russia, the Mongolian art troupe, the dancing troupe of the Kiev Dancing Theatre of Ukraine, the Darmstadt Chorus of Germany and the art troupes of Korean artistes from Japan, China and America and circus performances presented by foreign acrobatic troupes on April 13 and 14.

Day of Sun Commemorated in DPRK

     Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Working people and school youth and children across the country significantly commemorated the Day of the Sun on Saturday. They visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace, the supreme temple of Juche, and made bows to President Kim Il Sung in humble reverence. They also laid floral baskets and bunches of flowers before his statues on Mansu Hill, in provincial capitals, revolutionary battle sites and revolutionary sites and vowed loyalty. The young vanguard, members of the trade unions and the union of agricultural workers and the women's union held meetings to make vow their loyalty in the provincial capitals. Their participants renewed their firm determination to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation in this land true to the idea and leadership of Kim Jong Il as instructed by the President, while highly praising his undying revolutionary feats.
    Mangyongdae, the birthplace of the President, was crowded with an endless stream of visitors from early in the morning of the Day of the Sun and the 8th Kimilsungia Festival also drew many visitors.
    Art performances were given and sports and amusement games were held at organs, industrial establishments and schools across the country to add to the festive atmosphere of the holiday.
    Teachers and students of Kim Chaek University of Technology presented a 3,000-strong chorus at its gymnasium before having sports and amusement games. "The Great Leader Will Always Be with Us", a 10,000-strong chorus of officials, working people and school youth and children in Ryanggang Province deeply moved the audience.
    Choruses of university students in Sinuiju and working people and school youth and children in Changsong and Tongchang counties also deeply impressed the audience. There were a 10,000-strong chorus and dance performance of officials and working people from all walks of life in South Phyongan Province in Phyongsong, choruses of members of the women's union in Kanggye, Wonsan and Haeju and a concert of members of the union of agricultural workers in Sariwon to sing of the sun. Working people, school youth and children across the country had meetings to vow loyalty, art performances, sports and amusement games, dancing parties and other colorful functions on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.

Kim Jong Il Sends Message of Greetings to Syrian President

     Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, Sunday sent a message of greetings to Bashar Al-Assad, secretary of the Regional Leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party and president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of independence of his country. The message noted that following the independence the Syrian people have achieved many successes in their work to develop the country and seek a fair and comprehensive settlement of the Mideast issue, while frustrating the threat and pressure of the hostile forces.
    The Korean people sincerely rejoice over all the successes made by the Syrian people over their own and will extend full support and solidarity to them in the just struggle to defend the sovereignty of the country and dignity of the nation under the unerring leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party in the future, too, the message added. Expressing the belief that the friendly and cooperative bonds between the two peoples would steadily grow stronger, the message wholeheartedly wished him good health and happiness and his friendly people fresh progress and prosperity.

Greetings to Syrian Prime Minister

     Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Pak Pong Ju, premier of the DPRK Cabinet, sent a message of greetings to Muhammad Nazi Otri, prime minister of Syria, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the independence of Syria. Believing that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would continue to favorably develop, the message sincerely wished the friendly Syrian people fresh progress and prosperity.
    Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun sent a similar message to his Syrian counterpart Walid Al-Mualrem.

Children's Art Performance Given on Day of Sun

     Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- A performance was given by members of the art group of the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace Saturday on the occasion of the Day of the Sun. Present there on invitation were foreign guests and overseas Koreans including artistes participating in the 24th April Spring Friendship Art Festival and delegations attending the 8th Kimilsungia Festival.
    The performance began with the song and dance "Biggest Holiday". Put on the stage were colorful numbers such as songs, instrumental music and dances in which the performers truthfully represented their great pleasure of commemorating the Day of the Sun. They impressively depicted their ardent will to hold President Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the eternal sun and always remain loyal to leader Kim Jong Il. In such numbers as dance "We Are Little Young Soldiers of General Kim Jong Il," accordion trio "Pleasant Dance Music" and gymnastic dance "We Are Future Masters" they truthfully represented the admirable and proud appearance of the schoolchildren stoutly growing up to be successors to the revolution who would shoulder upon themselves the future of Songun Korea.
    The performance closed with chorus "Let's Uphold the General, Our Father, by Becoming Knowledgeable, Virtuous and Healthy." The children's presentation won a high acclaim of the audience as it successfully reflected the schoolchildren's intense loyalty and optimism with high artistry.

Talks between WPK and CPG Delegations Held

     Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Talks took place between the delegations of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Communist Party of Greece here Sunday. Present from the WPK side were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and officials concerned and from the Greek party members of the party delegation led by General Secretary its Central Committee Aleka Papariga. At the talks both sides informed each other of activities of the parties and exchanged views on the issue of developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and issues of mutual concern.
    The talks proceeded in a friendly atmosphere.

Kim Jong Il Inspects Company of KPA Unit

     Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected a company of KPA Unit 760. He learned about the company's performance of its duty before watching the training of its servicepersons.
    He was pleased to learn that the commanding officers and soldiers of the company have acquired combat capability to satisfactorily carry out any duty. He called for taking a firm hold on the work to thoroughly implement the party's policy of training.
    Then he went round an educational room, a bedroom, a mess hall, a kitchen, a non-staple food store, a wash-cum-bath house, an outdoor resting place, a barn and other places of the company and expressed great satisfaction over the fact that it has provided good living conditions.
    Thanks to the servicepersons of the KPA, pace-setters in displaying the spirit of self-reliance, there has come an era of making such new leap forward as creating everything from nothing, he said, adding that this feature of the stirring era clearly proves the might of the staunch revolutionary spirit of the KPA. Message of Greetings to Kim Jong Il from Putin

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, received a message of greetings from Russian President Putin on the 94th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. The message said:
    I feel satisfied with the fact that the friendly relations between the two countries which developed under the deep care of President Kim Il Sung have made progress with fresh energy in recent years.

Kim Jong Il Issues Order on Raising Military Ranks of KPA Commanding Officers

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il Friday issued his order no. 004 on raising the military ranks of commanding officers of the KPA on the occasion of the Day of the Sun. The order said that the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK founded and led to victory by President Kim Il Sung have grown to be a matchless revolutionary army and the main force of revolution under the Songun leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea and demonstrated the invincible might in the struggle to defend the country and build a great prosperous powerful nation.

Doctorate of Geography Awarded to Researcher of Jilin University of China

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- A ceremony of awarding a doctorate of geography of the DPRK to a researcher of the Northeast Asian Institute of Jilin University of China took place at the People's Palace of Culture Friday. After a decision of the State Commission for Conferring Degrees and Titles of the DPRK was read out, a diploma of a doctor of geography and a medal were awarded to Xi Wenji, researcher of the Northeast Asian Institute of Jilin University of China, who comprehensively systematized the achievements made in the large-scale irrigation projects in the western area of Korea and widely propagandized overseas the advantages and vitality of the irrigation system.

DPRK Wrestlers Prove Successful at 19th Asian Wrestling Championships

    Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- The DPRK wrestlers bagged one gold medal, two silver medals and one bronze medal at the 19th Asian Wrestling Championships held in Kazakhstan. The championships brought together over 180 men and women wrestlers from 15 countries and regions of Asia.
    Ri Yong Chol, DPRK wrestler, defeated all his rivals and placed first at the free-style wrestling in 60 kg category.
    Jon Hyon Guk and Kim Kum Chol took the second place at the free-style wrestling match in 55 kg category and greco-roman wrestling match in 66 kg category and Cha Kwang Su placed third at the greco-roman wrestling match in 55 kg category.

Cambodian King Sends Large Floral Basket to DPRK Embassy

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni sent a large basket of flowers to the DPRK embassy in his country on the occasion of the Day of the Sun. Written on the ribbons of the floral basket were letters "The noblest respect and glory to HE Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people. Norodom Sihamoni, king of the Kingdom of Cambodia".
    Kong Sam Ol, deputy prime minister in charge of the Royal Palace, together with secretary and undersecretary of state of the Ministry for the Royal Palace, visited the DPRK embassy on Apr. 11 and placed the floral basket before the portraits of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them.
    The deputy prime minister said:

Letter to Kim Jong Il from Chongryon CSC

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il received a letter from the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on Saturday, the 94th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Japanese Delegation Sojourns in DPRK

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- The delegation of Kyodo News of Japan and newspapers which subscribe to it led by President of Kyodo News Satoshi Ishikawa visited Mangyongdae on Friday. At the old home in Mangyongdae where President Kim Il Sung was born and spent his childhood, the guests went round historic mementoes with keen interest, being briefed on the immortal story about the old home.
    They had a picture taken in token of the visit to the old home before going to the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Museum.
    The delegation also visited the e-library of Kim Chaek University of Technology. The guests went round a book-lending room, a reading room and other rooms, being briefed on the fact that the e-library has been built wonderfully as a proud edifice in the era of Songun under the deep benevolence of leader Kim Jong Il who is always paying deep attention to training scientific and technological talents of the country. Besides, the delegation visited the Korean Computer Centre, the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace, Panmunjom and other places.

Friendly Gathering Held

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- A friendly meeting was held at the Cambodian embassy here on Apr. 14 on the occasion of the New Year Holiday in Cambodia and Laos. A friendly gathering was co-sponsored by Chhorn Hay, Cambodian ambassador to the DPRK and Chanpheng Sihaphom, Lao ambassador to the DPRK. Papers Editorially Commemorate Day of Sun

    Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Papers here today in editorials dedicated to the Day of the Sun call for dynamically advancing along the road of victory paved by President Kim Il Sung, rallied close around the Workers' Party of Korea. The army and people of the DPRK are creating a heroic epic of the nation's prosperity along the road of unity, the road of victory, which had been paved by the President, in this century, too, Rodong Sinmun says, and goes on:
    His whole life is shining as the history of the glorious struggle in which he set a noble example of the revolutionary unity and successfully led the revolution and construction to a brilliant victory on the basis of unity.

Chollima Statue, Symbol of Juche Korea

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- The Chollima Statue, symbol of Juche Korea, stands on Mansu Hill in Pyongyang. The statue, a People's Prize laureate work, was unveiled on April 15, Juche50 (1961). It, which depicts Chollima, a fabulous winged horse, reflects the heroic mettle of the Korean people.
    The great upsurge of Chollima was effected in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea after the historic plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) convened in December Juche 45 (1956).
    Upholding the revolutionary slogan "Charge at the speed of Chollima!" set forth by the WPK, the working class and people worked hard in the spirit of taking ten, nay, one hundred steps while others taking one step and wrought epoch-making miracles in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance.
    Enemies raved that the DPRK would not rise up even 100 years after. The Korean people, however, made a great leap forward of building the socialist industrial state in a brief span of time and ushered in the Chollima era, the era of national prosperity. Since then world people have called Korea the "land of Chollima". The construction of the statue was initiated by President Kim Il Sung and completed under his meticulous guidance. The feature of a worker holding high the "Red Letter" of the WPK Central Committee and a female peasant having a rice-sheaf in her arms who ride Chollima soaring high in the sky strikingly reflects the revolutionary spirit of the Korean people who are boundlessly faithful to the Party and the leader. The statue consists of a bronze sculpture and a granite sculptural stand. And the bronze sculpture is 14 meters high and 16 meters long. The height from the ground to the top of the "Red Letter" is 46 meters.

Concert Held on Day of Sun

     Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- A concert took place in Mangyongdae Saturday on the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Appreciating the concert were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Jon Pyong Ho, Ri Yong Mu and senior officials of the party and the state, members of the Cabinet, officials of power bodies, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the Korean People's Army, officials of scientific, educational, cultural and art, public heath and media institutions and working people in the city. Prior to the concert, senior officials of the party and the state visited the old home in Mangyongdae where the President was born to be the sun of Juche. Then a concert was held in the compound of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Museum. It was jointly performed by the artistes of the Mansudae Art Troupe, the Phibada Opera Troupe and the State National Art Troupe.
    It began with chorus "Song of General Kim Il Sung".
    Put on the stage were colorful numbers including female quartette "Let's Sing of the Day of the Sun", female vocal solo "My Country Is a Country of Mt. Paektu", dance "Yangsando", kayagum solo and ensemble "Family Tradition in My Country", male solo in bass "The General Is Son of Guerrillas" and chorus "Our Leader Will Always Be with Us".
    The performers sang of the great revolutionary history and undying feats of the President who adorned the annals of the revolution in the stormy 20th century with a new history of great changes for the accomplishment of the cause of the popular masses for independence through his original idea and outstanding leadership and great revolutionary practice.

     Pyongyang, 15 de abril (ATCC) -- Con motivo del Dia del Sol (15 de abril, cumpleanos del Presidente Kim Il Sung) el periodico Rodong Sinmun inserto en su primer plano de la edicion del dia 15, junto con la foto del Presidente pronunciando un discurso, el siguiente contenido principal de su obra maestra "La unidad revolucionaria es la garantia de todas las victorias" (15 de abril de 1972): Camaradas:
    Me siento honrado y a la vez apenado por el hecho de que con motivo de mi cumpleanos se hayan reunido los camaradas para felicitarme.
    Yo creci bajo el cuidado de mis padres solo hasta cumplir 14 anos de edad y despues he vivido siempre en medio de los camaradas. Siempre fui objeto del amor de los camaradas, tanto durante las actividades clandestinas y la lucha armada como despues de la liberacion, en la epoca de la construccion de la nueva Patria, y en medio de este afecto hoy cumplo 60 anos de edad.
    Expreso mi calido agradecimiento a todos los camaradas que me dieron ayuda y formacion y vienen luchando en estrecha union conmigo.
    Si gozando de buena salud hasta hoy he podido cumplir los trabajos del Estado, del Partido y de la revolucion, se debe enteramente a mis camaradas. Cuando la lucha clandestina, muchos companeros me pusieron a salvo de la acechanza y de las persecuciones del enemigo y me protegieron del peligro. En la epoca de la Lucha Armada Antijaponesa hubo muchos momentos en realidad dificiles, pero en cada caso los camaradas me ayudaron y protegieron. Sobre todo, cuando habia dificultad por la escasez de alimentos, ellos no escatimaron nada para preservar a todo precio mi salud. Esta camaraderia revolucionaria y rasgos tan bellos y nobles pueden emanar solo del espiritu marxista-leninista y de la moral comunista. En el curso de mi lucha revolucionaria he llegado a comprobar a plenitud que la camaraderia y la unidad revolucionarias constituyen el factor principal de todas nuestras victorias. Sin duda, es valioso el amor de los padres. Pero este sentimiento converge principalmente en la formacion fisica de los hijos.
    El amor de los camaradas, sin embargo, es el sentimiento de afecto mas valioso, que al promover la unidad revolucionaria, mediante el afianzamiento de la ideologia, el estimulo y la animacion mutuos y la lucha reciproca, permite llevar hasta el fin la lucha revolucionaria. Por esta razon, y aprovechando esta oportunidad, quisiera rogarles una vez mas a los camaradas preservar para siempre la camaraderia y la unidad revolucionarias que establecimos sobre la base de la moral comunista, en el curso de la lucha revolucionaria de mas de 40 anos.
    La unidad revolucionaria no se logra por generacion espontanea. Puede implantarse unicamente sobre la base de la unidad ideologico-volitiva. Para implantar de modo firme la unidad ideologico-volitiva de las filas revolucionarias es preciso librar la lucha ideologica y sobreponerse a multiples altibajos. A las personas atrasadas se les debe aconsejar y reprochar y a los camaradas que cometen errores criticar e, incluso, sancionar. Todas estas cosas, o sea consejos, advertencias, criticas y sanciones son necesarias para asegurar la unidad ideologico-volitiva de las filas revolucionarias. Si no implantamos de modo inconmovible dicha unidad a traves de estas luchas, no podremos alcanzar el exito en ningun trabajo. Si rememoramos la historia de nuestro pais, veremos que los gobernantes de la epoca feudal de la dinastia de los Ri, cautivos del servilismo a las grandes potencias, se enfrascaron solo en rinas sectaristas. En aquel tiempo en nuestro pais pulularon sectas, entre otras, la prochina, prorrusa y projaponesa. Como consecuencia de que los gobernantes feudales se ocuparon solo de peleas sectaristas y se corrompieron, se arruino el pais.
    Con posterioridad, en la epoca del movimiento nacionalista, tambien hubo diversas sectas. Los participantes de este movimiento crearon cada cual agrupaciones como "cuerpo por la restauracion", "cuerpo por la prosperidad industrial" y "cuerpo de justicia" y actuaron a su antojo. Por este motivo, aunque el pueblo coreano se levanto en la lucha tan pronto como los imperialistas japoneses le arrebataran el pais, el movimiento nacionalista de esa epoca no pudo alcanzar exitos. La situacion fue la misma en el movimiento comunista de nuestro pais en su periodo inicial. En aquel entonces surgieron los seudomarxistas y cada cual, provisto de un cuno de patata, frecuentaron la Internacional Comunista, cuya sede estaba en Moscu, para que su grupo fuera reconocido como "ortodoxo". Como fueron tantos los que lo pretendian, la Internacional Comunista, alegando que no podia saber cual era el verdadero, excluyo de sus filas al Partido Comunista de Corea. Esto constituyo realmente una gran verguenza para la nacion coreana.
    Las experiencias historicas demuestran que el pais se arruina tanto cuando se practica el servilismo a las grandes potencias como cuando ocurren rinas sectarias. Las jovenes generaciones, los genuinos comunistas de Corea, no quisieron repetir los errores cometidos tanto por los gobernantes feudales y los nacionalistas, como por los adeptos del movimiento comunista, en su etapa inicial, los seudomarxistas. Trazamos el programa para derrotar con nuestras propias manos a los imperialistas japoneses y levantar una nueva sociedad, confiando en las fuerzas del pueblo y apoyandonos en el, y luchamos por su materializacion. Gracias a que planteamos a si los correctos objetivos de la lucha y la libramos incorporando a ella a todo el pueblo, pudimos alcanzar la gran victoria de hoy.
    Al iniciar la Lucha Armada Antijaponesa ya presentamos la orientacion sobre la formacion del frente unido antijapones de toda la nacion.
    En la etapa inicial de esa lucha fue muy dificil nuestra situacion. Entonces nuestros enemigos no eran solo los imperialistas japoneses, se nos opusieron tambien las tropas antijaponesas de los chinos a los diferentes grupos nacionalistas del interior del pais. Sin embargo, nosotros nos empenamos en unirnos con todas las fuerzas antijaponesas, de conformidad con la orientacion sobre la formacion del frente unido antijapones a escala de toda la nacion e internacional.
    Desplegamos de modo dinamico el movimiento del frente unido nacional antijapones, bajo la consigna de derrotar al imperialismo japones con la fuerza mancomunada de toda la nacion, entregando cada uno lo que pudiera: fuerza fisica, inteligencia o bienes materiales. En el magno proceso del movimiento del frente unido antijapones de toda la nacion se aglutino todo el pueblo de nuestro pais y, gracias a sus fuerzas mancomunadas, alcanzamos la obra historica de la liberacion de la Patria. Aun despues de la derrota del imperialismo japones y la emancipacion de la Patria, siguio siendo muy compleja la situacion nacional.
    Al liberarse el pais los valentones y los arribistas, si bien no hicieran ningun aporte a la lucha contra los imperialistas japoneses, pretendieron cada cual senorear y desde los cuatro costados comenzaron a llegar individuos de toda indole. Por su puesto, era alto bueno que a raiz de la liberacion se nos unieran muchos hombres procedentes de diversas partes. Por esta razon, trazamos la orientacion para la unidad con ellos por encima de las diferencias de opiniones y de entendimientos. En virtud de esta orientacion transformamos a tiempo el Partido Comunista de Corea en el Partido del Trabajo de Corea y agrupamos en el a los elementos progresistas de entre los amplios sectores de los trabajadores, sobre todo, de entre los obreros, campesinos y trabajadores intelectuales.
    Asimismo, realizamos el frente unido con diferentes agrupaciones religiosas y creyentes, incluyendo los de Chondo y el cristianismo, y con distintas organizaciones nacionalistas. Y este frente unido se mantiene hasta hoy dia.
    Gracias a que procedimos de esta manera: aglutinar monoliticamente a todo el pueblo en torno al Partido mediante su desarrollo en un partido masivo y la formacion del frente unido, pudimos ejecutar con exito, y en un tiempo muy corto, la reforma agraria, la nacionalizacion de las industrias y otras reformas democraticas, fundar la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y crear el Ejercito Popular.
    Si a raiz de la liberacion no hubieramos efectuado a tiempo estas tareas, nuestro pais se habria convertido en una colonia de los imperialistas norteamericanos. Sobre la base de haber analizado de modo cientifico la situacion creada en el pais despues de su liberacion, oportunamente convertimos el Partido en un partido de masas y constituimos el frente unido, logrando agrupar con firmeza a todo el pueblo alrededor del Partido y del Gobierno, en virtud de lo cual pudimos rechazar, con las fuerzas unidas de toda la nacion, la agresion de los imperialistas yanquis, bajandoles los humos, y alcanzar grandes victorias en la revolucion y la construccion.
    Camaradas:
    Hoy no voy a hablar largamente. Si lo hubiera preparado de antemano, mi discurso habria sido aun mas corto, pero no pude hacerlo asi. Aprovechando la presente oportunidad quisiera dirigirles a ustedes unas palabras mas. El camino que debe recorrer nuestra revolucion es todavia largo y tortuoso. De ningun modo podemos vanagloriarnos por las victorias ya obtenidas. Nos enfrentamos hoy a pesadas tareas revolucionarias como son la reunificacion de la Patria dividida y la mayor consolidacion del regimen socialista en el Norte de la Republica.
    Para avanzar valerosamente por el duro camino de la reunificacion de la Patria y realizar con exito la edificacion del socialismo en el Norte de la Republica tenemos que afianzar mas la unidad y cohesion de todo el Partido y de todo el pueblo, sobre la base de la ideologia unica del Partido. !Unirnos! !unirnos! !unirnos! sobre la base de la ideologia unica del Partido, he aqui lo que hoy quisiera reiterarles a ustedes. Somos marxista-leninistas. En el "Manifiesto Comunista" Marx escribio: "!Proletarios de todos los paises, unios!" La unidad es la garantia de todas nuestras victorias. Solo realizando la unidad monolitica de todas las fuerzas revolucionarias podremos conquistar el triunfo final de la revolucion.
    Para alcanzarlo es preciso que se una todo el Partido, todo el Ejercito y toda la nacion, asi como todos los que trabajan en los organismos del Partido y del Estado y en todos los demas sectores. A escala mundial debemos unirnos tambien con todos los amigos. Hoy quisiera llamarles a ustedes a esforzarse tesoneramente para fortalecer la solidaridad internacionalista con la clase obrera del mundo entero, con las naciones oprimidas y explotadas y con todas las personalidades progresistas de la Tierra. Camaradas:

Kim Jong Il recibe mensaje de felicitacion de Putin

    　Pyongyang, 15 de abril (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il, Presidente del Comite de Defensa Nacional de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea recibio un mensaje de felicitacion que le dirigiera el dia 15 el presidente de la Federacion Rusa Putin con motivo del 94 aniversario del nacimiento del Presidente Kim Il Sung. 　La misiva senala:
    　Estoy satisfecho de que en los ultimos anos se desenvuelven con mas vigor las relaciones de amistad entre nuestros dos paises, que se habian desarrollado bajo la gran atencion del Presidente Kim Il Sung.
    　Rusia y la RPDC mantienen estrechos dialogos politicos y hacen la cooperacion constructiva en la escena internacional.
    　Manifiesto mi conviccion de que la constante profundizacion del fortalecimiento de la positiva cooperacion conveniente enteramente a los intereses del pueblo ruso y el coreano contribuira a preservar la paz y la estabilidad de la Peninsula Coreana y la region en su conjunto. 　Deseo a usted buena salud y nuevos exitos en el cumplimiento de las importantes tareas para el desarrollo socio-economico de la RPDC y el fomento del bienestar del pueblo coreano.

Kim Jong Il recibe carta del CC del FDNA por el Dia del Sol

     Pyongyang, 15 de abril (ATCC) -- Al Dirigente Kim Jong Il le dirigio el dia 15 una carta el CC del Frente Democratico Nacional Antiimperialista con motivo del 94o aniversario del natalicio del Presidente Kim Il Sung. La misiva senala:
    El nacimiento del Presidente fue una gran fortuna de la nacion coreana que dio la esperanza de restauracion de la patria, que corria el destino de su arruinamiento, y una gran fiesta comun de la humanidad que dio inicio a la epoca del Juche, la de independencia.
    Los 70 anos del Presidente, quien emprendio el camino de la revolucion a los diez anos y pico y propicio la epoca de independencia superando las dificultades y pruebas sin precedentes, componen la noble vida del gran revolucionario, destacado politico y padre del pueblo quien dedico todo lo suyo para la libertad y la independencia de la patria y para la prosperidad y la felicidad infinitas de la humanidad. Aunque tengamos que afrontarnos con dificultades y vicisitudes de todo tipo, enalteceremos generacion tras generacion al Presidente como el Sol del Juche y defenderemos y glorificaremos sus ideas sobre la reunificacion de la patria y sus proezas de direccion en esta empresa.
    Bien conscientes de que apoyar la politica de Songun (priorizacion militar) del Dirigente es el atajo de la construccion de una gran potencia prospera reunificada, nos esforzaremos por hacer que toda la poblacion surcoreana apoye y siga activamente con el patriotismo la gran politica de Songun.
    Nos levantaremos como un solo hombre en los tres movimientos patrioticos por la reunificacion independiente, por la paz contra la guerra y por la gran unidad nacional bajo la bandera de "Entre nosotros, los connacionales" para dar un golpe demoledor a la dominacion colonial de EE.UU. sobre el Sur de Corea y sus maniobras para dividir eternamente a Corea y destruir tajantemente las intrigas de las fuerzas conservadoras proyanquis para retomar el poder, y de esta manera, prepararemos un nuevo periodo de la reunificacion de la patria.

Acto nacional de la Union de Ninos de Corea

    　Pyongyang, 15 de abril (ATCC) -- Un acto nacional de las organizaciones de la Union de Ninos de Corea (UNC) por el 94 aniversario del nacimiento del Generalisimo Kim Il Sung tuvo lugar el dia 14 en la plaza del Palacio Memorial Kumsusan, supremo lugar del Juche. 　Participaron los representantes de la UNC de todas las provincias, miembros de esta organizacion en esta capital y ninos escolares a ingresarse en la UNC. 　Fueron invitados Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Jung Rin, el ministro de Educacion Kim Yong Jin, el presidente del Comite Popular de la ciudad de Pyongyang Ryang Man Gil, ex combatientes revolucionarios antijaponeses, funcionarios de sectores de educacion, cultura y arte, prensa e informacion, los del partido y la Union de la Juventud de la ciudad de Pyongyang, veteranos de la Guerra de Liberacion de la Patria, hombres de meritos y padres de los alumnos.
    　Los participantes rindieron tributo al Generalisimo Kim Il Sung ante su retrato con el sentimiento de gran anoranza, respeto y veneracion hacia el. 　Kim Kyong Ho, primer secretario del CC de la Union de la Juventud Socialista Kim Il Sung, en su informe de la ocasion, dijo que son muchos los grandes hombres que dejaron sus nombres en la historia, pero, no hay ninguno como el Generalisimo quien amaba tanto a los ninos y les prodigo toda la felicidad y anadio que el Lider padre es el eterno Sol de los miembros de la UNC.
    　La historia de sublime amor del Generalisimo a las generaciones venideras la lleva adelante el Dirigente Kim Jong Il, quien deja nobles huellas en el proceso de la direccion revolucionaria del Songun (priorizacion militar), senalo el informante y destaco que todos los miembros de la UNC deben ser fidedignos ninos de la epoca del Songun que enaltezcan para siempre al Generalisimo Kim Il Sung y defiendan a costa de la vida al Dirigente. 　En el acto se efectuo una ceremonia del ingreso a la UNC.
    　Los alumnos a ingresarse en la UNC juraron solemnemente ante la bandera de esta entidad siguiendo a la voz-guia del ex combatiente revolucionario antijapones Kim Ryong Yon.

Orden y medallas a los adeptos a la idea Juche

    　Pyongyang, 15 de abril (ATCC) -- Tuvo lugar el dia 14 en el capitalino Palacio de los Congresos Mansudae una ceremonia de concesion de orden y medallas de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea a los adeptos a la idea Juche. 　En la ocasion estuvieron presentes el vicepresidente del Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema de la RPDC Yang Hyong Sop, el vicepresidente de la Asociacion de Hombres de Ciencias Sociales de Corea Rim Hoe Song y otros funcionarios, las delegaciones y delegados de las organizaciones de estudio de la idea Juche de varios paises que permanecen en Corea.
    　Tras darse lectura al decreto del Presidium de la APS de la RPDC fueron otorgadas la Orden de Amistad de primer grado al jefe de la delegacion japonesa por el Dia del Sol Fujio Hanawa, y medallas de amistad a los 3 adeptos a la idea Juche.
