At Least 220 Cases of U.S. Aerial Espionage Committed against DPRK in June
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists committed at least 220 cases of aerial espionage against the DPRK in June by mobilizing strategic and tactical reconnaissance planes with different missions, according to military sources.
They illegally infiltrated an RC-135 based in Okinawa, Japan, into the air above the economic waters of the DPRK east of Musudan and Hamhung again on June 28 to intensively spy on its strategic targets for hours.
More than 20 cases of aerial espionage were conducted by such type planes after illegally intruding into the air above the economic waters off the east coast of the DPRK in June and over 30 planes were involved in them.
Aerial espionage was perpetrated by U-2 almost everyday during the month.
On June 27 U-2 made a shuttle flight in the air above areas west of Tokjok Islet and east of Phochon and Sokcho to commit such espionage as photographing major targets and military movements of the DPRK and intercepting communications, etc.
At least 140 tactical reconnaissance planes with different missions including RC-7B and RC-12 flew in the air above areas along the Military Demarcation Line almost every day in June to spy on major military targets on the forefront of the DPRK.
15 planes of such types were involved in the spy missions on June 14.
The reality requires the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK to give further spurs to bolstering its military deterrence in order to cope with the war moves of the U.S. imperialists and proves that nobody has the right to take issue with this.

WPK Praised by Foreigners

Withdrawal of S. Korean Forces from RIMPAC Demanded
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification reportedly issued a statement on June 25 demanding an immediate withdrawal of the south Korean forces from the theatre of the U.S.-led massive RIMPAC-2006 joint military exercises.
Involved in the joint war game launched by the United States in the Pacific on June 25 under the cloak of "guarantee of security" of sea routes and "joint action against terrorism" are military strength more than 20,000 strong, all told, including south Korean troops and latest types of means of war.
The joint military rehearsal started by the U.S. while getting undisguised in its hostile policy toward the DPRK and crying for a preemptive strike is, in fact, a war game targeted against the DPRK, the statement said, adding: It is unthinkable that the south Korean forces have a share in the military drill having fellow countrymen in its gunshot.
It is downright treachery and an act of self-destruction to level the gun on fellow countrymen on the order of outside forces which threaten the vital rights of the nation, acting in concert with the U.S., it said, urging the south Korean army to immediately pull out of the theatre of the military maneuvers.
Mass Rallies Held in Cities and Counties to Denounce U.S. Imperialism
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- Mass rallies were held in cities and counties on the occasion of "June 25, Day of Struggle against U.S. Imperialism".
At the mass rallies held in Kaesong and Anju cities and Chollima County speakers said with indignation that the U.S. imperialist aggressors ruthlessly destroyed many historic relics including royal tombs of kings of Koryo and the Namdaemun, dropped at least 5,000 bombs and germ bombs over the then Anju County to kill thousands of people and reduced the then Kangson Steel Work and other factories and enterprises, even dwelling houses, to ashes.
Speakers at the Sinchon county mass rally branded the U.S. imperialist aggressors as wolves and murderous villains in human skin with whom the Korean people cannot live together under the same sky, recalling that the U.S. imperialist murderers killed at least 35,000 innocent people in Sinchon County by the most barbarous method beyond human imagination.
Speakers at mass rallies stressed that the Korean army and people will never forget the thrice-cursed murderous atrocities of the U.S. imperialists but mercilessly wipe out the aggressors with arms of Mt. Paektu, rallied around Kim Jong Il in one mind with transparent consciousness of class against imperialism and the U.S. and show the stamina of Songun Korea in the confrontation with the U.S.
Anti-War Event in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- An event of "the June 24 anti-war action to denounce murder of Iraqi civilians, get the Jaitun unit withdrawn and oppose the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek" was reportedly held at the Maroni Park of University Road in Seoul under the sponsorship of the south Korean People's Action against Troop Dispatch.
Noting that grudges against the U.S. forces were being pent up in Iraq day by day and, even in the United States, there was a growing public demand for their withdrawal from Iraq, the speakers called upon all the people to turn out in the movement for peace against war.
Branding the move to expand the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek as a highly dangerous act to turn the Korean Peninsula into a battlefield of the U.S. war of aggression, they said the movement for peace against war was linked with the fight against the expansion of the military base.
A resolution was read out at the event, which declared that people of all social strata would stage a mammoth anti-war protest late in September to close the chapter of the U.S. forces' occupation of Iraq and get the Jaitun unit withdrawn.
Meanwhile, a signature campaign for the total withdrawal of the Jaitun unit within the year and a photo exhibition exposing the killings of Iraqi civilians by U.S. troops took place around the venue of the event.
United Action against Expansion of U.S. Military Base Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The All-People Measure Committee for Checking the Expansion of the U.S. Military Base in Phyongthaek of south Korea reportedly held a press conference in front of "Chongwadae" on June 26 at which it strongly denounced the "government's" moves to expand the U.S. military base.
A press release read out at the press conference warned that if the "government" persists in the forcible eviction of the residents in the planned area for the expansion of the U.S. military base, it will face stronger resistance of the people.
Then Mun Jong Hyon, who has been on a hunger sit-in strike for the 21 consecutive days against the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek, published an appeal to the people.
Accusing the "government" of ruthlessly cracking down upon the residents while unilaterally pushing forward the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek, the appeal termed this a submission to the U.S. and, at the same time, an act of disturbing peace on this land.
Pak Sun Hui, permanent representative of the south Korean National Catholic Alliance for Justice, speaking at the press conference, said the hunger struggle helped them renew their firm resolution to fight it out as long as they are alive.
Kim Je Nam, secretary general of the Green Federation, said that civic organizations will also join in the struggle to prevent Phyongthaek from being turned into the U.S. base for war of aggression.

Struggle against Expansion of U.S. Military Base in Phyongthaek to Be Continued
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- The struggle against the expansion of U.S. military base in Phyongthaek has been carried on in south Korea in June, too.
Early in May, the south Korean authorities mobilized heavily armed forces to seize land in the area of Taechu-ri and Todu-ri of Phaengsong Township, Phyongthaek City and to mercilessly repress the protesters.
The fascist tyranny triggered the furies not only from the Koreans in the north, south and abroad but also from the world people of conscience.
The All-people Measure Committee for Checking the Expansion of U.S. Military Base in Phyongthaek has been formed with chairmen group of the south Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification, religionists of the four main religious fraternities and some 130 political parties, civic and social organizations in south Korea. The committee and activists of the civic organizations and men of the press across south Korea have issued special appeals and statements almost every day and held hundreds of candle-events, sternly condemning the military authorities' anti-national submissive acts of rendering soil to the aggression troops.
The mass media of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea widely report the struggle of the south Korean people against the expansion of the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek.
Rodong Sinmun says: The forcible removal was conducted under the U.S. pressure in accordance with its aggressive intention to convert south Korea into its main advanced base for its war strategy. And it clearly shows once again that the south Korean authorities are pro-U.S. traitors.
Statements and talks have been made public by the European Regional Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification, the Society for Cooperation among Koreans in Germany, 14 organizations of Korean residents in U.S. and other overseas Koreans. The "Ministry of National Defense" and police authorities of south Korea committed tragedies in Phyongthaek similar with those in Kwangju in May of 1980, the statements and talks said. They strongly demanded that the south Korean authorities turn out in genuine national cooperation in conformity with the June 15 era.
The struggle has become a matter of concern in the international arena.
The Amnesty International demanded that those forcibly walked away be released forthwith and the south Korean "government" solve the Phyongthaek issue through dialogue with the people. Over 150 civic organizations and figures of Japan, foreign mass media are voicing firm solidarity with the south Korean people in their struggle for defending the land of Phyongthaek.

Besides he composed many songs of high ideological and artistic value such as "Our Supreme Commander", "Glory to Workers' Party of Korea", "Sunrise on Mt. Paektu", "Steel-strong Ranks Advance" and "Song of Great National Unity".
In particular, he displayed his talent to the full in the creation of the "Sea of Blood"-type revolutionary operas under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il.
He assumed the duties as the chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Musicians Union, the general director of the Phibada Opera Troupe, the president of Pyongyang University of Music and Dance, etc.
The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK promulgated a decree to name the newly-built conservatory Kim Won Gyun Pyongyang Conservatory on June 27.

Struggle against Conservatives in S. Korea Called for
Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) -- A nation-wide struggle against conservatives paves the way for preserving the June 15 joint declaration and steadily glorifying the banner of the era.
Rodong Sinmun Friday says this in a signed article.
It goes on:
The Grand National Party and other pro-American conservatives have gone to extremes in their moves to block the advance of the June 15 era of reunification and bring back the old era of confrontation with the north with the backing of the U.S.
The above-said joint declaration is, in the true sense of the word, a declaration of independent reunification common to the nation as it is supported by all the Korean people.
It is only the GNP that has not yet said any word of support for the joint declaration. This group of traitors desperately opposed the joint declaration from the very day it was made public, claiming that it might lead to the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea.
The GNP has never bothered to let loose a whole string of outcries defiling the June 15 joint declaration. This is aimed at scrapping the joint declaration at any cost in a bid to block the advance of the times and prolong their dirty remaining days as politicians. The GNP is afraid of national independence more than anything else as its long history has been characterized by flunkeyism and dependence on foreign forces. Precisely for this reason it is dead-set against the joint declaration which calls for rejecting outside forces and achieving independent reunification in the spirit of "By our nation itself." It is impossible to defend the June 15 joint declaration, a landmark of independent reunification, without a struggle against such dyed-in-the-wool pro-U.S. conservative forces as the GNP.
The GNP is keen to play down the shining tradition and achievements in the era of independent reunification, products of the June 15 joint declaration, and bring back the era of inter-Korean confrontation.
The GNP and other ultra-right conservative forces backed by it have found fault with every dialogue and contact, cooperation and exchange under way between Koreans in the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration in a desperate bid to torpedo them.
The GNP clan obsessed with the greed for power is now making last-ditch efforts to stem the trend of the times towards progress, reform and reunification and bring back the era of inter-Korean confrontation and the era of fascist dictatorship in an effort to return to power.
Failure to foil this would result in reducing the joint declaration to a dead document and bringing to naught the precious achievements made by the Koreans in the movement for reunification in its spirit. The struggle against the GNP and the conservatives is urgently required by the times and this serves as an engine advancing history, concludes the article.
