Month of Anti-U.S. Joint Struggle Observed in Britain
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- A joint symposium of the British progressive parties and organizations on the U.S. hostile policy against the DPRK was held in London on June 24 on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 month of anti-U.S. joint struggle.
Harpal Brar, chairman of the C.C., Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), made a keynote report at the symposium to be followed by speeches of representatives of different political parties and organizations.
They said that the U.S. provoked a war of aggression against the DPRK 56 years ago and has persistently resorted to robber-like military threats, sanctions and plots against it up to now.
Noting that the U.S. moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK are based on its invariable ambition for aggression to dominate Asia and the rest of the world with the Korean Peninsula as a springboard, they called for intensifying in Britain solidarity activities for supporting the struggle of the Korean people to cope with the ever more malicious tongue-lashing of the U.S. against the DPRK.
It was decided at the symposium to coordinate in a concerted way such solidarity activities of political parties and organizations and their anti-U.S. movement by regularly running the coordinating committee of friends of Korea and to organize a celebration rally on the day of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
Present at the symposium were figures and members of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain (Marxist-Leninist), the New Communist Party of Britain, the British Coordinating Committee of Friends of Korea, the British Friendship Society with Korea and the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy.
Present there on the invitation were officials of the DPRK embassy in London and a representative of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks.
Anti-reunification Moves of GNP and Security Forces Denounced in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for the Implementation of the South-North Joint Declaration reportedly issued a statement on June 29 to denounce the "Grand National Party" and the security forces of south Korea for their maneuvers against national reunification.
It recalled that the security forces in collusion with the GNP recently did not permit overseas Koreans to participate in the grand festival for national reunification held in Kwangju on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration and kicked up a row in Seoul on June 28 to arrest Yun Ki Jin, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification who had been wanted for 8 years, by invoking the "Security Law", an evil law of the old times.
Such acts of the security forces will have given rise to deep concern and resentment of the people, the statement said, adding: The Solidarity for the Implementation of the South-North Joint Declaration will launch a relentless fight to decisively smash all the moves of the GNP and security forces against reunification.
The GNP and the security forces should bear in mind that if they persist in the heedless acts, failing to properly see the trend of the June 15 reunification era, they will face a judgment by history, the statement warned.
Anti-U.S. Struggle in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Joint Measure Committee of Culture and Art for Checking south Korea-U.S. FTA and Ensuring Cultural Diversity, the Moviemen's Measure Committee for Checking Cultural Aggression and Protecting the Screen Quota and other cultural and art organizations of south Korea reportedly decided to launch into an anti-U.S. struggle on July 1.
The organizations noted indignantly that the authorities tried to force an "amendment to the law for movie promotion" stipulating a reduction of the screen quota of south Korean movies from July, yielding to U.S. pressure.
In this regard, they declared that they would hold various anti-U.S. cultural events such as a meeting for the general turnout of men of culture and art and a grand march as part of the measures for checking U.S. cultural invasion and defending national culture.
Japan's Servility to U.S. Ridiculed
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- GI criminals are accorded such "special treatment" in prisons by Japan that they are given chances to have showers everyday, meat is served to them as part of their meals and cakes, coffee and milk are offered to them between meals, according to information released by the Japanese government recently.
Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Monday observes: This is touching off due resentment among Japanese including families of those who fell victim to the GI crimes.
The criminals should face a due punishment.
Such "generous treatment" accorded by Japan to the U.S. criminals there is not regarded as something surprising or strange but as quite a natural and common practice in that country as it is steeped in flattery and subservience to the U.S., its master, to the marrow of its bones.
Japan is now offering the U.S. a ridiculous amount of money for the upkeep of its forces every year instead of claiming the payment for the offer of its whole territory as their military bases.
Whenever a GI crime is reported, Japan just pretends to "punish" the perpetrator, reading Washington's face and underlining the importance of Japan-U.S. alliance. U.S. troops in Japan are not subject to any legal punishment though they commit countless crimes. Even in case a legal action is taken against any perpetrator, it is nothing but nominal to enable him to live in luxury as before.
Then why is Japan behaving so?
Lurking behind this disgusting behavior is a sinister aim.
The Japanese reactionaries frantically seek to hold military supremacy and become a "leader" of Asia with the help of the U.S.
In a word, GI crimes in Japan are attributable to the shackling U.S.-Japan alliance.
If the Japanese people are to live in peace free from GI crimes, they should put an end to the above-said alliance and drive the U.S. troops out of Japan to the last man. This is the best way of rooting out the GI crimes in Japan, the commentary concludes.

Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Songun politics of the Workers' Party of Korea serves as a treasured sword of justice protecting sovereignty of the nation and peace and security of the country and a powerful engine advancing the era of independence and reunification.

U.S. Deployment of New-Type Reconnaissance Plane in S. Korea under Fire
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Commenting on the deployment of "U-2 S Block 20" high-altitude strategic reconnaissance plane in the U.S. air force base in Osan, south Korea, a Rodong Sinmun analyst Monday says:
This is a grave military provocation and blackmail to the DPRK, being an indication that the U.S. is rapidly pushing ahead in various fields with the extremely dangerous war moves against the DPRK, driving the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war.
As regards the deployment of the plane, the U.S. warmongers claim that it had been planned long ago. But it is nothing but a sophism.
Nowadays, the U.S. is daily escalating military pressure upon the DPRK with reckless war exercises, massive arms buildup and persistent aerial espionage, while driving the six-way talks for a settlement to the DPRK-U.S. nuclear issue to a rupture by putting up absurd pretexts and fictions. Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Paek Nam Sun, minister of Foreign Affairs, sent a message of greetings to Sergei N. Martinov, minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, on the 62nd national day of his country.
The message expressed the belief that the good friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would further expand and develop in the future.
New Kind of Pesticide Developed
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Great efforts are being directed to preventing possible damage by the harmful insects while weeding in cooperative farms throughout the country.
Popular among the co-op farms is the pesticide called "clod of agricultural chemicals".
Cooperative farms in Pyongyang, South Phyongan and North Hwanghae Provinces are applying the pesticide to protecting various farm crops including rice from harmful insects.
The agricultural chemicals are made with various botanical elements, oil substance, emulsifying agent, etc.
The clod, which has a strong contact and permeability, is instantly dissolved in water and forms a thin layer on the surface of water to stick to harmful insects when moving.
It permeates into the body of insect to paralyze the information-conveying system, with the result that insects neither move nor eat.
The layer of the agricultural chemicals on the surface of water lasts for two or three days and then forms rings around rice stalks.
It is very convenient to use.
Walking along ridges between rice-fields, people throw it without using any sprayer.
It can be also applied on a windy or rainy day.
The pesticide affects only harmful insects but does not harm to the human body.
Two kilograms are enough per hectare.
The pesticide was made by the Mangyongdae Patriotic Compound Microbiological Fertilizer Factory.
Korea Is Proud of Long History of Characters
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Korean nation has used characters from more than 5,000 years ago.
During the Kojoson (ancient Korea) period when people in many parts of the world were still in a primitive state, the ancestors of the Korean nation made and used Sinji Characters, the first of its kind in the Korean history.
King Tangun, founder of Kojoson, instructed Sinji, an officer, to create letters. One day Sinji went hunting and saw deer's footprints imprinted on a sandy land. In the footprints, he got a clue for creating letters. The name of the Sinji Characters was derived from the fact.
The historical books "Samgukyusa" (historic records of three kingdoms--Koguryo, Paekje and Silla), "Topography of Pyongyang" and "Topography of Nyongbyon" write that the Sinji Characters were used during and after the Tangun era.
Earthenware vessels with Sinji Characters belonging to the period of Kojoson were unearthed in various places including Sinam-ri, Ryongchon County, North Phyongan Province. They prove the fact that the Korean people had used the Sinji Characters from 5,000 years ago.
The Sinji Characters are phonetic and syllabic ones. Their forms differ from those of the ideographic characters of China and of the syllabic characters of Japan.
The Korean nation created Hunminjongum (Korean alphabet) in 1444 by carrying forward the Sinji Characters.
Hunminjongum is phonetic one that was created on the principle of following the shapes of the vocal organs. It can express almost phonemes. The institution of Hunminjongum enriched the cultural heritage of language of the nation.
The Korean people have consistently developed Hunminjongum into the Korean language with rich and refined vocabularies, expressions and styles.
Greetings to Croatian President
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Croatian President Stipe Mesic on June 25 on the occasion of its national day.

Struggle against Moves of U.S. and Pro-U.S. Conservatives against Reunification Called for

Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- La ubicacion del avion de reconocimiento estrategico de gran altura "U-2 S Block 20" en la base aerea norteamericana en Osan del Sur de Corea es una prueba clara de que Estados Unidos impulsa con rapidez bajo todos los aspectos las peligrosas maniobras de guerra de agresion al Norte para llevar al borde de la guerra la situacion de la Peninsula Coreana y como tal deviene una grave provocacion y chantaje militares contra la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea.

Los belicistas norteamericanos dicen que el emplazamiento del avion en cuestion se debe a un gplanh trazado ya hace mucho tiempo. Pero, esto no pasa de ser un sofisma.
En estos dias, la superpotencia, con injustos pretextos y falsificaciones, lleva al fracaso las conversaciones a 6 bandas para la solucion del problema nuclear con la RPDC y se ocupa de insensatos ejercicios belicos, aumento armamentista de gran envergadura e incesantes espionajes aereos elevando el grado de presion militar sobre la RPDC. Por eso, en la Peninsula Coreana se cierne el nubarron de la guerra y se crea una situacion muy tirante.
La realidad demuestra que el "dialogo" y la "paz" de que habla EE.UU. no pasan de ser una artimana para enganar la opinion interna y externa y que pasa a la etapa de practica su intencion criminal de provocar la guerra nuclear en la Peninsula Coreana.
Esta situacion demuestra la justedad de nuestras medidas con que hemos consolidado la poderosa fuerza de detencion de guerra al practicar la politica de Songun (priorizacion militar).

Rodong Sinmun denuncia a los reaccionarios japoneses
Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- Segun una publicacion del gobierno japones, los criminales efectivos estadounidenses en Japon reciben "trato especial" disfrutando de servicio diario de ducha y comiendo carne como menu de la comida y galletas, cafe y leche como postre.
Este hecho produce la vehemente indignacion de los habitantes japoneses, en particular, de los familiares de las victimas.
Senala asi el rotativo Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual publicado en su edicion del dia 3 y prosigue:
El "buen trato" de los reaccionarios japoneses a los culpables estadounidenses no es una cosa sorprendente ni extrana, sino un proceder natural porque ellos estan acostumbrados a la adulacion y obediencia a su aliado superior.
Japon presta al imperio americano todo el territorio suyo como base militar, pero, en vez de recibir debida indemnizacion por ello, le entrega cada ano enorme suma de fondos para el mantenimiento de las tropas estadounidenses.
Cuando los uniformados estadounidenses cometen crimenes, Japon les aplica "castigo nominal" escudrinando la actitud de su amo y tomando en consideracion la importancia de sus relaciones de alianza con este. Pues, los uniformados estadounidenses estan libres de las restricciones legales y en el caso de encarcelados reciben un buen trato.
Los tratan de esta manera los reaccionarios japoneses para tomar la supremacia militar y hacerse gamoh de Asia bajo el amparo de EE.UU.
En una palabra, la causa fundamental de los crimenes de los uniformados estadounidenses en Japon radica en las leoninas relaciones de alianza EE.UU.-Japon.
Para que los habitantes japoneses vivan en paz sin recibir danos por parte de los uniformados estadounidenses, es preciso que se ponga fin a las relaciones dependientes de alianza con EE.UU. y se retiren todos los uniformados estadounidenses del archipielago japones.
Nacion coreana uso letras desde hace mas de cinco milenios
Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- Es muy inteligente la nacion coreana que venia usando letras desde hace mas de 5 mil anos.
En el periodo de Cojoson (principios del siglo XXX a.n.e. - 108 a.n.e), el pueblo coreano creo primeros caracteres Sinji.
Tangun, primer rey de Corea, dio a su subdito Sinji orden de crear letras. Este, al cabo de grandes esfuerzos tesoneros, recibio un impulso al ver las huellas de un venado dejadas en el arenal. Y luego de reiteradas investigaciones llego a crear caracteres. Por eso, nacio el nombre "Sinji".
En los libros de historia de Corea "Samgukyusa", "Pyongyangji", "Nyongbyonji", etc. se senalan que los Sinji fueron usados en la epoca de Tangun y Cojoson.
Estan grabadas esas letras en el fondo de una vasija de barro, reliquia de la epoca de Cojoson desenterrada en la comuna de Sinam del distrito de Ryongchon de la provincia de Phyong-an del Norte y otras varias zonas. Esto confirma que el pueblo coreano comenzo a usar los Sinji desde hace mas de cinco milenios.
Los Sinji foneticos y silabicos se distinguen de los chinos y japoneses.
Al desarrollarlas la nacion coreana creo en 1444 las letras mas desarrolladas "Hunminjongum", que enriquecieron el patrimonio cultural linguistico de la nacion coreana.
Hoy, el pueblo coreano, al desarrollar incesantemente las "Hunminjongum", se hizo orgulloso de llevar una vida con la lengua mas excelente de ricos y probados vocablos, expresiones y estilos.
Desarrollado nuevo insecticida en Corea
Pyongyang, 3 de julio (ATCC) -- Aunque muy atareadas por la desyerba, en estos tiempos las granjas cooperativas de distintas localidades de Corea prestan mucha atencion a la prevencion de danos por insectos nocivos.
En esta labor despierta gran atencion un nuevo insecticida que ya comenzo a salvar las plantas agricolas, inclusive el arroz, del ataque de insectos en las granjas cooperativas de la ciudad de Pyongyang y de las provincias de Phyong-an del Sur y Hwanghae del Norte.
Este producto solido en forma de bolas lo elaboro la Fabrica de Fertilizantes Compuestos Microbicos Aeguk de Mangyongdae mezclando varios elementos vegetativos, oleaginosos y emulsificantes.
Se disuelve rapido en el agua y forma una capa fina en la superficie de agua. Cuando un insecto nocivo cae en esta capa, el insecticida penetra en su entrana y paraliza el sistema instintivo dejandolo impotente de moverse ni de comer.
Dos o tres dias despues la capa se desaparece, pero los elementos agroquimicos se confluyen en torno a los tallos de arroz y matan los insectos adentro.
Es facil echarlo manualmente en las parcelas sin un aparato especifico y es posible usarlo cuando hace viento o llueve.
Los elementos principales de insecticida no causan ningun dano al cuerpo humano.
