Japanese Reactionaries' Distortion of History Assailed

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The "Yasukuni Shrine" is distributing among its visitors copies of a booklet totally distorting and negating the past history of aggression of the Japanese imperialists. Describing this as a typical example of the Japanese militarists' evermore undisguised criminal distortion and negation of history, a signed article of Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says: The Japanese reactionaries are totally misrepresenting and denying the Japanese imperialists' past history of aggression as evidenced by the content of the booklet.
    As can be seen in the distribution of the booklet by the shrine, they are displaying feverish activities to loudly negate and defend Japan's past crime of aggression and infuse the militarist idea in the minds of the Japanese people at the instigation of the Japanese rulers.
    In the history textbooks they distort and even delete and beautify the brutal crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in their aggression and harsh exploitation and plunder in the days of their colonial rule.
    Recently, the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, cried that Tok Islet should be denoted as "part of the Japanese territory" in study guidance outlines, turning a deaf ear to the strong protest to and denunciation of the revision of textbooks at home and abroad. And the ministry opened a meeting of the Committee for the Examination and Approval of Textbooks and approved history textbooks presented by 8 publishing houses including those which denote Tok Islet as "part of the Japanese territory" and embellish the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea. In this way the Japanese militarists are orientating the distortion and negation of their criminal past to territorial expansion.
    Japan's distortion and negation of its past history of aggression is an indication of its ever-more undisguised ambition for militarist territorial expansion.
    This distortion of history is gravely affecting the Japanese society. There are among the Japanese growing tendencies of taking Japan's history of aggression for granted. Those who were ashamed to talk about Japan's history of aggression in the past now regard the domination over Asian countries and plunder of them by Imperial Japan as right thing for the country's "prosperity" and even as the basic spirit of the Yamato nation. Very serious consequences will be entailed if the new generation of Japan follows the footsteps of their predecessors, considering the past criminal history as just one without a correct understanding of it. Herein lies the gravity and danger of the Japanese militarists' undisguised distortion of history.
    The Japanese militarists are now working hard to invent a pretext for launching another war of aggression to realize their old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" by driving the relations with their neighboring countries to the worst phase and straining the situation.
    The Japanese militarist forces' distortion of history is a link in the long chains of their aggressive moves to dominate Asia. The Asian countries are heightening vigilance against it.
    The Japanese reactionaries had better clearly face up to the trend of the times and the reality and stop the criminal distortion of history.

Rodong Sinmun Observes Anniversary of Famous Work of Kim Jong Il

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Wednesday dedicates a signed article to the fifth anniversary of the publication of Kim Jong Il's famous work "Songun Politics of Our Party Is Powerful Socialist Political Mode". The work published on July 5, Juche 90 (2001) is a monumental document which systematized the unique Songun revolutionary line and Songun politics of the Workers' Party of Korea in an integral manner and made a comprehensive clarification of them.
    Kim Jong Il in the work noted that the Songun politics is a unique political mode which helps the Korean people carry out the revolution and construction by themselves their own way to suit the actual conditions of Korea and an all-powerful treasured sword for winning victory in the revolution and construction despite any grave situation and trial.
    The article says:
    The work clearly explains the originality and vitality of the Songun politics which the WPK has developed in depth as required by the developing revolution by inheriting the Songun idea of President Kim Il Sung, and its essence and contents and tasks to be tackled to implement it. New and unique are all the ideas and theories set out in the work. They include the principle of the Songun revolution, the principle of placing the army before the working class, the idea of achieving the unity of the army and people in thinking and fighting spirit and the idea of steadily expanding the ranks of revolutionary families of servicemen.
    The work clearly reflects the unshakable will and faith of Kim Jong Il in the justice of the cause of the Songun revolution started by Kim Il Sung and the outstanding ideological and theoretical wisdom and rich political experience of the peerless political elder.
    The publication of the above-said work helped develop in depth the Songun idea of the WPK and scientifically prove the validity and advantages of the Songun politics, the most revolutionary and powerful socialist political mode in the present times.
    Through the victorious and glorious struggle waged for the last more than a decade the army and people of the DPRK have keenly felt that the Songun politics serves as an invincible banner ensuring the grandeur and prosperity of the socialist country.

Solidarity with Korean People Expressed Abroad

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- A round-table talk took place in Rome on June 22 under the sponsorship of the Italian Committee for Friendship and Solidarity among the Peoples on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. Chairman of the committee Ines Venturi said that Chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il opened an epochal phase in implementing the last instructions of President Kim Il Sung on national reunification by providing the historic inter-Korean summit in 2000.
    Chairman of the Forma Association under the Communists Party of Italy Bruno and other speakers, referring to the importance of the work of supporting the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, stressed the need to conduct in various forms and ways the solidarity movement for accelerating Korea's reunification.
    Meanwhile, Manju Ratna Sakya, chairman of the Nepal Journalist Association, addressing a meeting held in Katmandu on June 26 on the occasion of the month of international solidarity with the Korean people, stressed that they hope Korea will be reunified independently and peacefully as early as possible and that they will extend invariable support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for reunification.
    A message of solidarity to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting.

Pamphlet "Songun Policy of DPRK" Off Press in Peru

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- A pamphlet "Songun Policy of DPRK" was brought out by the National Association of Writers and Artists of Peru on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. It was written by Estuardo Martines Perez, first vice-chairman of the association and vice-president of the General Kim Jong Il Peruvian Amicable Friendship Institute. It says in its preface:
    The Songun policy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a policy unprecedented in human history.
    Kim Jong Il is registering astonishing achievements in the DPRK by pursuing the Songun policy.
    His unique Songun policy is the greatest and most just policy to defend independence of the country and the nation and develop the self-supporting economy.

Just Struggle of Korean People Supported

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization made public a statement on June 28 on the occasion of the month of international solidarity with the Korean people. We express firm solidarity with the friendly Korean people in their cause of justice to prevent war and defend peace in the Korean Peninsula, it said. More than half a century has passed since a war broke out in Korea, the statement said, pointing out that they strongly oppose all sorts of war of aggression on the earth and holding that a war should not break out again in the Korean Peninsula.
    Korea should be certainly reunified in the near future on the three principles of independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity as desired by the whole Korean nation, stressed the statement.

Intellectual Development Education

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- Efforts are being directed to the intellectual development education in the DPRK. In order to develop intellectual faculty of students, the educationists of the country are introducing the question-and-answer and conversation-style teaching methods, not explanation-style teaching method. They, at the same time, are intensifying study of teaching methods in each teaching stage and education process.
    Teachers of Changdok School have created and applied more than 50 new teaching methods to lectures, thus gaining many successes in the educational work.
    Kanggye Jangjasan Middle School No. 1 honored with the title of Hero, Pyongyang Jongbaek Primary School, Pyongyang Jangchung Kindergarten No.1 and many other schools and kindergartens have solved by themselves the issues arising in working out intellectual teaching plans, making collections of intellectual questions and answers and educating through computer multimedia in a way suited to the psychological peculiarities of pupils and to the requirement of the developing reality.
    They have made a lot of teaching materials and aids and intellectual-developing computer programs on a high level.
    Over 6,000 pieces of intellectual-developing teaching materials and aids have been newly made and used at schools and kindergartens in Pyongyang. They include teaching plans of math, physics, chemistry, history, geography and other subjects, collections of questions, diagrams, illustration boards, multimedia programs, various kinds of experimental apparatuses, model boards, playthings and so on.
    The intensified intellectual-developing education helps improving the quality of education and training the rising generation to be personnel with intellectual ability as required by the era of science and technology.

Train College Runs

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The correspondence course train of Pyongyang University of Railways in the DPRK has recently left Pyongyang for the eastern coastal area of the country. The train, which is called "College Running on Railways" or "Moving College", is furnished with all educational conditions.
    The correspondence course started from June Juche 61 (1972).
    The train has a lecture room the seating capacity of which is more than 50, a teachers' room, a library of textbooks and reference books, a room of experimental apparatuses and teaching aids and dinning and sleeping compartments.
    It travels Chongjin, Hamhung, Kaechon, Sariwon and other areas 10-odd times a year to give lectures to students for some 20 days each time.
    Teachers have newly worked out teaching contents of special technical subjects and made thousands of visual aids in accordance with students' level.
    Over the last 3-odd decades, the moving college has produced thousands of competent technicians.
    The correspondence course was operated even during the "Arduous March" and the forced march, displaying to the full the advantages of the higher educational system for part-time study while working.
    This year, too, many students are receiving theoretical and practical education in the moving college.

Greetings to President of Malawi

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, Tuesday sent a message of greetings to Bingu Wa Mutarika, president of Malawi, on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of its independence. In the message Kim extended warm congratulations to the president and the friendly people of Malawi.

Congratulations to 4th Party Congress of Equatorial Guinea

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea sent a congratulatory message to the 4th Congress of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday. The message expressed the belief that the congress will be an important occasion in the activities of the DPEG for defending the sovereignty of the country and achieving national unity and economic development.
    It sincerely wished the party great success in its congress in the belief that the good relations of friendship and cooperation between the two parties and the two peoples would continue to develop favorably in the future, too.

Greetings to President of Comoros

    Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, on July 4 sent a message of greetings to Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi, president of Comoros, on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of its independence. The message wished the president success in his responsible work for the prosperity of the country, expressing the belief that the bilateral ties would grow stronger in mutual interests.

DCC demanda a Japon y EE.UU. devolucion de bienes culturales

    Pyongyang, 5 de julio (ATCC) -- El portavoz de la Direccion de Conservacion de la Cultura (DCC) de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea emitio este martes una declaracion en ocasion del 90 aniversario del "Reglamento de conservacion de ruinas y reliquias historicas", promulgado por los imperialistas japoneses con el proposito de destruir y saquear los patrimonios culturales de Corea. Ante todo, el portavoz demando a los reaccionarios japoneses y los imperialistas norteamericanos disculparse por la agresion y el expolio en Corea y devolver incondicionalmente todos los bienes culturales despojados.
    Tras promulgar el 4 de julio de 1916 el citado reglamento, los imperialistas japoneses organizaron las entidades, que se dedicaban exclusivamente al saqueo de patrimonios culturales, como el "Comite de investigacion de ruinas de Corea", el "Museo de la de Corea" y la "Sociedad de conservacion de ruinas", recuerda la declaracion y prosigue:
    El saqueo de patrimonios culturales de Corea por parte de los imperialistas japoneses significa una imperdonable salvajada y un crimen anti-cultural y anti-etico, encaminados a suprimir la larga historia y la nacionalidad de los coreanos y destruir la civilizacion humana.
    Aunque pasaron mas de 60 anos desde la derrota de Japon en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, los reaccionarios japoneses ni siquiera reconocen tales fechorias, al contrario, las justifican e inculcan el militarismo.
    De mal en peor, como parte de sus desesperadas maniobras para retomar el camino de agresion, pretenden ahora arrebatar la isla Tok, pedazo del sagrado territorio de Corea.
    Por otra parte, hasta hoy dia, en el Sur de Corea siguen siendo quebrados y saqueados los valiosos vestigios culturales de la nacion coreana por culpa de los agresores norteamericanos.
    Por lo tanto, los imperialistas japoneses y norteamericanos son enemigos jurados que destruyen la historia y la cultura de la nacion coreana y le imponen insoportables desgracias y sufrimientos.
    Todos los coreanos del Norte, el Sur y en ultramar deben luchar con vigor por lograr la devolucion de susodichos patrimonios culturales con el poderio del ideal "entre nosotros, los connacionales".

Rodong Sinmun condena a Japon por tergiversacion de la historia

    Pyongyang, 5 de julio (ATCC) -- En estos dias, el "Santuario Yasukuni" distribuye a los visitantes los folletos tergiversando y negando totalmente la historia de agresion del pasado de los imperialistas japoneses. Esto constituye una muestra coherente de las maniobras criminales de los militaristas japoneses para tergiversar la historia, que cada dia cobran mayor intensidad.
    Asi senala el periodico Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual del dia 5 y continua:
    La distribucion de estos folletos en el "santuario Yasukuni" dejo claro que a instigacion de las fuerzas gobernantes, los reaccionarios nipones trabajan intensamente para negar y justificar los crimenes de agresion del pasado e inculcar el militarismo a los habitantes del pais-isla.
    Con anterioridad, ya tergiversaron, omitieron y embellecieron en los manuales de historia los agresivos y barbaros actos criminales de los imperialistas japoneses, la brutal explotacion y el saqueo perpetrados en la epoca colonial.
    Recientemente, pese a la fuerte protesta y condena del interior y el exterior de Japon a la modificacion peor de dichos manuales, el ministro de Educacion, Cultura, Deportes, Ciencia y Tecnologia de Japon insistio en que se debe anotar la isla Tok de Corea como "territorio japones" en las guias del estudio. Por otra parte, en una reunion del Comite de Supervision de Manuales, este ministerio dio su "visto bueno" a los manuales de historia de 8 editoriales solicitantes, que registraron la isla Tok como "territorio japones" y dieron tinte positivo a la dominacion colonial de los imperialistas japoneses sobre Corea.
    Estas maniobras, que parten de la cada dia mas abierta ambicion expansionista de los militaristas de Japon, tienen graves consecuencias en la sociedad de este pais.
    @En el pasado, los japoneses se avergonzaban de hablar de la historia pasada de su pais, pero ahora piensan como justos por la "prosperidad" del pais la dominacion y el saqueo a los pueblos asiaticos por el viejo ejercito nipon y, para colmo, lo consideran como espiritu de la nacion de Yamato.
    Si los miembros de la nueva generacion de este pais no tienen correcto concepto de la historia criminal del pasado y, dandola por justa, toman el camino de sus antecesores, causaran nefastas consecuencias. He aqui precisamente la gravedad y peligrosidad de las maniobras de distorsion de la historia de los militaristas japoneses.
    Estos tratan de agravar la situacion llevando a la peor fase las relaciones con los paises circunvecinos para procurar un pretexto de una nueva guerra de agresion encaminada a implantar la largamente sonada "esfera de coprosperidad de gran Asia Oriental".
    Los paises asiaticos se ponen en guardia ante la tergiversacion de la historia de los militaristas japoneses porque esta deviene un eslabon de los tejemanejes de agresion para dominar a Asia.
    Los reaccionarios japoneses deben ver correctamente la corriente de la epoca y la realidad y parar los criminales actos de distorsion de la historia.

Firmados protocolo y convenio entre Corea y Belarus

    Pyongyang, 5 de julio (ATCC) -- Quedaron rubricados el 30 de junio en Minsk un protocolo de la segunda reunion del Comite Conjunto de Cooperacion Economica y Comercial y un convenio de prevencion de doble tributo sobre el ingreso y propiedades entre el gobierno de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y el de la Republica de Belarus. Suscribieron el primer documento el viceministro coreano de Comercio Exterior Jo Jong Ho, quien preside la delegacion economica gubernamental, y el vicecanciller belaruso Viktar Gaisenak.
    El segundo fue firmado por Jo y Anna Deico, ministra belarusa de Recaudacion de Impuestos.

Educacion intelectual en Corea

    Pyongyang, 5 de julio (ATCC) -- En la rama de educacion de Corea se activan los esfuerzos por desarrollar los metodos intelectuales. Para este fin, los funcionarios de la rama introdujeron un nuevo metodo de educacion interrogativa y dialogal en reemplazo del convencional metodo de explicacion e interpretacion y exploran nuevas vias de ensenanza para cada etapa del proceso docente.
    En particular, la Escuela de Changdok logra grandes exitos pedagogicos al inventar y aplicar mas de 50 modos nuevos en la elaboracion del programa docente.
    La Escuela Secundaria No. 1 Heroe Jangjasan de Kanggye, la Escuela Primaria Jongbaek de Pyongyang, el Jardin Infantil No. 1 Jangchung de Pyongyang y otras numerosas entidades de la rama solucionaron, conforme a las caracteristicas psicologicas de ninos y a la demanda de la realidad, nuevos problemas que se presentan en la redaccion y la solucion del programa de educacion intelectual y la coleccion de problemas-inteligencia y en la educacion con multimedia.
    Se desarrollo en un alto nivel el programa de educacion mental y en esta capital ya entraron en uso mas de 6 mil datos y medios nuevos, entre otros, el plan de leccion mental y la coleccion de problemas-inteligencia de matematica, fisica, quimica, historia, geografia y dibujos, esquemas, multimedias y aparatos de laboratorio de distintos tipos, maquetas y juguetes de inteligencia.
    A medida que se intensifica la educacion intelectual, se eleva cada dia mas el nivel cualitativo de la ensenanza y las nuevas generaciones adquieren la intelectualidad en lo suficiente para satisfacer la demanda de la actual epoca de ciencia y tecnica.
