Anniversary of DPRK-Russia Moscow Declaration Observed

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Today marks the 5th anniversary of the DPRK-Russia Moscow Declaration adopted during the historic Russia visit paid by General Secretary Kim Jong Il. Papers carry articles on this occasion.
    Rodong Sinmun in a signed article says that the signing of the declaration by Kim Jong Il and President Putin marked a historic event of great significance in steadily developing the DPRK-Russia friendship on a new higher stage in the new century.
    The declaration made it clear that stronger DPRK-Russia friendship is in line with the fundamental interests of the two peoples and makes an important contribution to ensuring peace and security in Asia and the rest of the world and the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea is a most urgent issue in ensuring peace and security in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia, the article says, and goes on:
    Clarified in the declaration is the principled stand of the two countries to contribute to maintaining the strategic stability in the world and building a new just world structure based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation in the new century.
    The adoption of the declaration in the wake of the signing and effectuation of the DPRK-Russia Joint Declaration and the DPRK-Russia treaty of friendship, good-neighborliness and cooperation in Pyongyang in 2000 opened a bright prospect of boosting the DPRK-Russia friendly relations in different fields on the principles of complete equality, mutual benefits, mutual respect and confidence and non-interference in other's internal affairs.
    The relations between the DPRK and Russia have developed to meet the desire and interests of the peoples of the two countries over the last five years since the publication of the DPRK-Russia Moscow Declaration. These ties will grow stronger in the spirit of the declaration in the future.
    Minju Joson notes that the declaration is a historic one which officially confirmed before the international community the will and stand of the DPRK and Russia to comprehensively develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in line with the common aspiration and interests of the two peoples as required by the new century and positively push forward the common cause of humankind to ensure peace and stability in Asia and the rest of the world and build a new just world.

Mongolian President on Friendly Relations with DPRK

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Mongolian President Nambariin Enkhbayar met with a delegation of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries headed by acting Chairman Mun Jae Chol at the state building on August 2. The delegation is staying in Mongolia to attend the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's visit to Mongolia and the 800th anniversary of the formation of the Mongolian state. He said that the Mongolian people are attaching great importance to the 50th anniversary of Kim Il Sung's visit to Mongolia and are pleased to significantly observe the anniversary together with the Korean people.
    The Mongolia-Korea friendship is a traditional one, he said, stressing that he would strive to boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries in various fields in the future.

Japanese Government's Refusal to Allow Entry of DPRK Delegation into Japan under Fire

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The Headquarters for the Promotion of the Liberation Movement of the Genuine Religion Otani Sect of Japan issued a statement on July 27 denouncing the Japanese government for disallowing the entry into Japan of the DPRK delegation of bereaved families of Korean victims of forcible drafting to participate in a memorial service and a meeting for them to be held in Japan. The statement said that the Japanese government's decision to disallow the entry of the delegation into Japan is little short of denying the purport of the "request for the offer of information on the remains of the dead including those of former civilian draftees of the Korean origin" which the Japanese government made to the All-Japan Buddhist Body. It is, furthermore, an act of increasing the sufferings of the bereaved families of Korean victims of forcible drafting and dampening the faith and enthusiasm of the people striving to settle the issue of remains.
    The Genuine Religion Otani Sect will keep pace with all people for the building of rich and peaceful international community opposed to war, irrespective of race, language, culture and religion, the statement said, strongly demanding the government make efforts to push ahead with the work to return the remains in a right direction, not by diplomatic means.

Message of Protest to Japanese Prime Minister

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The Japanese Hokkaido Forum for Thinking of the Victims of Forcible Drafting and Forced Labor demanded the government retract its decision to disallow the entry into Japan of bereaved families of victims of forcible drafting from the DPRK and settle the issue of their remains from the humanitarian stand. This demand was made in a message of protest sent to the Japanese prime minister on July 28. The message charged that the government's refusal to allow the entry of the delegation is a disgraceful act because it meant its abandonment of the principle for settling the issue of remains out of humanitarianism.
    To invite bereaved families and listen to them is part of the work to be done by Japan to settle the issue of remains and it is an important matter in leading to a positive direction the public of Japan which are neither aware of it nor interested in it very much, the message noted.
    The refusal to permit the entry into Japan of even aged bereaved families is an act of going against humanitarianism the government has advertised and it is unpardonable in view of the sense of obligation, it said, adding: The entry into Japan of bereaved families of Korean victims of forcible drafting should not be subject to any circumstances of the state and it should not be disallowed for the mere reason that the two countries have no diplomatic relations and the government should let the bereaved families see their remains.

Anti-U.S., Anti-War Actions Called for in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The 15th-term South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification reportedly held its second presidium meeting on July 31. The meeting strongly held that in order to avert a war and defend peace on the Korean Peninsula it is necessary to intensify the anti-U.S., anti-war struggle under the banner of "By our nation itself." Speakers at the meeting made it clear that the orientation and tasks of the organization are to launch a movement for peace against the U.S. and war and for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea. They proposed "No U.S. Hostile Policy towards North!" "No War Moves!" and "Let's Achieve National Cooperation!" as major mottos of actions.
    An appeal read out at the meeting called upon the youths and students to let broad strata of people clearly know that the U.S. is chiefly to blame for the war crisis on the Korean Peninsula, roundly expose the true colors of the U.S. troops in south Korea as the root cause of war and escalate the anti-U.S., anti-war struggle and the movement for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops.

New Feature Film Released

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The Korean Film Studio recently produced a new feature film "Diary of a Girl Student" to be listed as a masterpiece in the Songun era. A preview of the film was held at the People's Palace of Culture on Thursday.
    It was appreciated by Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop and others.
    The film makes an impressive and truthful representation of the life of an ordinary scientist's family in a diary style. It perfectly answers the questions as to where lie the pleasure and happiness of the Korean people in the Songun era and what is the genuine ideal of the younger generation.

Anti-Reunification Elements' Suppression of S. Korean Teachers Union under Fire

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The suppression of the National Teachers Union of south Korea by the neo-conservative forces including the Grand National Party is fascist rowdyism aimed at destroying the pro-reunification patriotic forces, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed commentary. As for the teaching materials on reunification made by the union, there is nothing problematic as they give a relatively objective description of the truth of history on the principle of historicism and with the north-south reconciliation into due consideration, the commentary notes, and goes on:
    The GNP-led conservative forces' suppression of the union on charge of preparing its teaching materials on reunification clearly proves that they are remnants of the old era of confrontation who are still seized by extreme prejudice. This is same anti-reunification fascist hooliganism as crackdown perpetrated by the fascist dictators who antagonized their fellow countrymen and suppressed the people after branding their mere talk about reunification as "pro-north" and "pro-communist" acts. The reality clearly proves that neither genuine education nor reconciliation, unity and reunification of the nation are thinkable in south Korea with the GNP, the leftover of the old era of confrontation, left intact.
    Lurking behind the GNP group's desperate efforts to negate the truth of history and justice is a sinister aim. This traitorous party has sought its way-out in the north-south stand-off, siding with and serving the U.S. in utter disregard of the reunification of the country, greedy for power and wealth.
    This party is getting evermore frantic in its moves as the history of its hideous crimes has been brought to daylight and there is no room for it to stay in the June 15 era of reunification.
    No matter how desperately the GNP may try it can never stem the trend of the history of the nation towards independent reunification. A caravan is bound to go ahead though dogs bark.

DPRK Taekwon-Do Players Proved Successful

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- DPRK players won the cup for the first prize in total points, the cup for men's group and the cup for women's group by winning 19 gold medals, one silver medal and 4 bronze medals and coming first in country standings at the 7th World Junior Taekwon-Do Championships. And Choe Song Il and Ri Un Hyang each bagged the cups for the individual best players in total points. The championships held in Bulgaria from July 26 to 30 brought together hundreds of ace Taekwon-Do players from 67 countries including the DPRK, Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Greece and Argentina.
    DPRK players defeated all the opponents in the men and women individual pattern A, B and C class matches and the men and women team pattern competitions held on July 27 and took 8 gold medals by placing first separately.
    And they came first in the men's individual sparring matches in 51kg, 57kg and 75kg categories, women's individual sparring matches in 64kg, 70kg and over 70kg categories and men and women self-defence pattern competitions.
    The DPRK players finished first in men's team competition for special techniques and men and women team sparring matches separately.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Marked

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Friday dedicates a signed article to the 9th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's work "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification". The article says:
    In this work, Kim Jong Il formulated the three principles of national reunification, the ten-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo, which are based on the idea and plan of President Kim Il Sung for reunification, as the three charters for national reunification. And he clarified fundamental principles and detailed tasks and ways for achieving the reunification of the country on the basis of these charters.
    Thanks to the proposal for achieving broad-based unity and the policy for improving the inter-Korean relations he put forward in this work and a nationwide struggle for implementing them there came into being the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and there dawned a new era of independent reunification in which the Koreans work hard to achieve reunification by their concerted efforts.
    The years since the publication of the work have been a period in which he has held high the banner of independence in the movement of the Korean nation for reunification as intended by the President.
    Kim Jong Il considered it as an important principled matter in the struggle to carry out the President's instructions for national reunification to firmly uphold the banner of national independence and has since worked heart and soul to make the spirit of national independence prevail all over the country.
    What is important in the exploits performed by him in wisely steering the Korean nation's movement for reunification as instructed by the President was that he brought a strong tide of great unity of the whole nation to the country.
    He has embraced anyone standing for national reunification with national conscience and helped him take the road of reunification. This noble patriotism and profound care of Kim Jong Il brought about a new phase in the movement for national unity.
    He took signal measures to ensure that compatriots in the north and the south meet with each other and talk to each other open-heartedly and pool their will and efforts.

"Illustrated Guide to Korean Natural Monuments" (Vol. 2) Off Press

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- The Korean Cultural Preservation Agency has brought out "Illustrated Guide to Korean Natural Monuments" (Vol. 2). Frontpaged in the book is a photograph of Kim Jong Il seeing a very old apple tree in Ryongjon-ri of Pukchong County, South Hamgyong Province, in June Juche 91 (2002).
    It gives plants indigenous to Korea with the plant natural monuments which President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il instructed officials to preserve and manage well as the main.
    It introduces angiosperm, divided into dicotyledons and monocotyledons.
    It deals with dicotyledons in the order of tall trees, shrubs, creepers, herbs and so on and with monocotyledons in the order of bamboo and herbs.
    Introduced in the last part of the book are other kinds of plants. As in the first volume, it gives the name of each species of plant in five foreign languages and the appendix gives the lists of plant natural monuments in each province, city and county.
    The book, which shows the correctness and vitality of the policies of the Workers' Party of Korea on preserving the natural monuments, will help give knowledge about plant natural monuments and plants indigenous to Korea to the working people.

Chief Coach of National Women's Ice Hockey Team Appointed

    Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) -- Ri Won Son, a former ice hockey coach of Susansong Sports Group in the DPRK, was appointed as the chief coach of the National Women's Ice Hockey Team. He will lead the DPRK team for the World Women's Ice Hockey Championships Div 2 to be held in 2007.
    He took part in a lot of international ice hockey contests while being active as a tactful forward of the national team for ten years and contributed to his team winning good results.
    He was awarded the technical prize of championships on three times and technical prize on 10 times at the World Ice Hockey Championships and selected as an Asian best player on two times.
    He coached the DPRK women's ice hockey team which had participated in the World Women's Ice Hockey Championships on five times in the period from Juche 89 (2000) to Juche 94 (2005).

Rodong Sinmun denuncia intencion de elementos anti-reunificacion

    Pyongyang, 4 de agosto (ATCC) -- La intencion del "partido Hannara" y otras fuerzas neoconservadoras de reprimir el "Sindicato Nacional de Ensenantes (SNE)" del Sur de Corea es un acto fascista para acabar con las fuerzas patrioticas de reunificacion. Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 4 y continua:
    No es problematico el manual de reunificacion hecho por el SNE porque este relata de modo relativamente objetivo la veracidad de la historia en el principio historicista y el punto de vista de reconciliacion Norte-Sur.
    Pero, el "partido Hannara" y otras fuerzas conservadoras lo cuestionan tratando de eliminarlo, lo cual demuestra que ellos son presos de extremo prejuicio siendo remanentes de la caduca epoca de confrontacion. Su proceder iguala al de los dictadores fascistas que en los tiempos pasados hostilizaban a sus connacionales y reprimian a quienes clamaban por la reunificacion calificandolos de "simpatizantes con el Norte" y "procomunistas". La realidad muestra elocuentemente que al dejar intacto al "partido Hannara" que es remanencia de la caduca epoca de confrontacion, no se puede hablar de la autentica educacion, ni de la reconciliacion, unidad y la reunificacion de la nacion.
    Los compinches del "partido Hannara" actuan tan desesperadamente para negar la veracidad y la justicia de la historia. Este partido traidor subsiste con la confrontacion Norte-Sur y obediencia a EE.UU. para seguir ejerciendo su autoridad y gozando de la opulencia y lujo sin tomar en consideracion la reunificacion de la patria. Se revela la historia archi-criminal y no tienen donde situarse en la epoca de reunificacion del 15 de junio estos traidores poniendo reto a lo todo.
    Pero, por muy desesperados que sean los esfuerzos del "partido Hannara", sera invariable la corriente de la historia nacional a la reunificacion independiente. Ladra el perro, pero, la caravana avanza.

Periodicos saludan el 5o aniversario de la Declaracion Corea-Rusia

    Pyongyang, 4 de agosto (ATCC) -- Hoy es el 5o aniversario de la publicacion de la Declaracion Corea-Rusia de Moscu aprobada durante la historica visita del Dirigente Kim Jong Il a la Federacion Rusa. Al respecto, los periodicos capitalinos insertaron en sus ediciones de hoy articulos conmemorativos.
    El rotativo Rodong Sinmun senala:
    La suscripcion de la citada Declaracion por el Dirigente Kim Jong Il y el Presidente Putin fue un evento historico de suma importancia para desarrollar constantemente en una etapa mas alta la amistad Corea-Rusia en el nuevo siglo.
    Este protocolo afirmo que el desarrollo de las relaciones de amistad y cooperacion entre los dos paises conviene a los intereses fundamentales de ambos pueblos y contribuye en gran medida a la preservacion de la paz y seguridad de Asia y el resto del mundo, y que la retirada de las tropas estadounidenses del suelo surcoreano es un problema apremiante para garantizar la paz y seguridad en la Peninsula Coreana y en el Nordeste Asiatico. Tambien expuso la posicion de principios de ambos paises de mantener en el nuevo siglo la estabilidad estrategica mundial y de contribuir a la construccion de una nueva y justa estructura mundial basada en el principio de igualdad, respeto mutuo y cooperacion de beneficio comun.
    Este documento publicado despues de la Declaracion Conjunta Corea-Rusia y el Tratado sobre la Amistad, la Buena Vecindad y la Cooperacion Corea-Rusia, firmados en 2000 en Pyongyang, dio buenas perspectivas para desarrollar multilateralmente las relaciones bilaterales de amistad en el principio de la igualdad total, el beneficio comun, el respeto mutuo, la confianza y la no intervencion en asuntos internos de cada cual.
    A lo largo del ultimo lustro que data del nacimiento de este documento, las relaciones Corea-Rusia han venido desarrollandose conforme a la aspiracion e intereses de los pueblos de los dos paises y se consolidaran aun mas de acuerdo con el espiritu del mismo protocolo.
    Por su parte, el periodico Minju Joson subraya que la citada declaracion ratifico oficialmente a la sociedad internacional la voluntad y la posicion de ambas partes de desarrollar globalmente las relaciones bilaterales de amistad y cooperacion conforme a la aspiracion e intereses comunes de los dos pueblos y a la demanda del nuevo siglo y de impulsar energicamente la causa comun de la humanidad para preservar la paz y la estabilidad de Asia y el resto del mundo y construir un nuevo mundo justo.

CRPP se pronuncia contra la presencia perenne de tropas yanquis

    Pyongyang, 4 de agosto (ATCC) -- A nombre de toda la nacion coreana el Comite por la Reunificacion Pacifica de la Patria (CRPP) denuncia fuertemente las maniobras de Estados Unidos y las autoridades surcoreanas encaminadas a perpetuar la ocupacion del suelo surcoreano por parte de las tropas agresoras norteamericanas estigmatizandolas de una grave provocacion para desatar una guerra contra el Norte de Corea y de un desafio frontal a todos los coreanos entusiasmados por adelantar la reunificacion independiente bajo el ideal de "entre nosotros, los connacionales", presentado en la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio, y a los habitantes surcoreanos deseosos de acabar con la presencia de estas tropas. @Asi senalo el portavoz de esa entidad en una declaracion emitida la vispera y prosiguio:
    Hace unos dias, un alto funcionario del "Ministerio de Defensa" surcoreano dijo que sera reflejado el "estacionamiento permanente" de las tropas norteamericanas ocupantes del Sur de Corea en el supuesto "plan de alianza" a ser publicado en la "reunion consultiva anual de la seguridad" Sur de Corea-EE.UU. prevista para el mes de octubre en Washington.
    En un "acto conmemorativo" abierto en esta capital, el vicepresidente norteamericano Cheney tambien prometio que seguiria manteniendo a decenas de miles de efectivos de su pais en territorio surcoreano.
    Detras de estas tentativas del imperio de justificar la presencia perenne de sus tropas en suelo surcoreano pretextando la tirante situacion de la Peninsula Coreana se halla su siniestro proposito de frustrar los debates sobre la retirada de las mismas, que se acentuan en el interior y el exterior del pais, y sofocar el animo antiyanqui y antibelico y la lucha de los habitantes surcoreanos por el particular.
    Ademas, las tropas norteamericanas pretenden permanecer en suelo surcoreano aun despues de reunificada Corea al declarar abiertamente su intencion de realizar su estrategia del siglo 21 de "dominar el mundo" teniendo a la Peninsula Coreana como un bastion militar de caracter permanente y de anexar a toda Corea mediante una guerra.
    Esto deviene un insoportable atentando a la soberania de la nacion coreana y una declaracion de guerra.
    La presencia de tropas gringas deviene el factor principal que perturba la paz y acarrea una guerra.
    Hoy, la situacion de la Peninsula Coreana entro en su peor fase y se avecina la segunda guerra coreana (la primera fue desatada en 25 de junio de 1950). Esta coyuntura es evidentemente el producto de la politica hostil de EE.UU. hacia Corea y la presencia de los uniformados del primero en la parte Sur de la segunda.
    Ya es la hora de que los politiqueros surcoreanos se despierten porque son bastantes mas de 60 anos de ocupacion surcoreana por parte de tropas foraneas y de violacion de dignidad, soberania y derecho a la vida de los connacionales.

Rodong Sinmun conmemora el IX aniversario de publicacion de obra

    Pyongyang, 4 de agosto (ATCC) -- El periodico Rodong Sinmun inserto el dia 4 un articulo individual dedicado al IX aniversario de la publicacion de la obra del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "Materialicemos de modo consecuente el legado del gran Lider, camarada Kim Il Sung para la reunificacion de la patria". El articulo senala en particular:
    En esta obra el Dirigente formulo como las tres cartas para la reunificacion de la patria los tres principios de la reunificacion de la patria, el programa de diez puntos para la gran unidad pannacional y el proyecto de fundacion de la Republica Federal Democratica de Coryo que reflejan la idea y el proyecto del Presidente para lograr esta causa nacional del pueblo coreano y a base de ello ilumino claramente los principios fundamentales, las tareas y los medios concretos que se presentan en lograr la reunificacion del pais.
    Gracias a la magna proposicion de unidad y la orientacion para la mejora de las relaciones Norte-Sur, dilucidadas en la obra, y la lucha pannacional por materializarlas, hizo su aparicion la historica Declaracion Conjunta N-S del 15 de Junio y advino una nueva epoca de la reunificacion independiente para lograr esta causa nacional con las fuerzas unidas de los coreanos.
    Durante esos 9 anos que datan de la publicacion de la obra, el Dirigente ha enarbolado la bandera de la independencia en el movimiento por la reunificacion nacional segun el proposito del Presidente.
    El Dirigente considero como un importante problema de la lucha por materializar el legado del Presidente el mantener con firmeza la bandera de independencia nacional e hizo todos los esfuerzos abnegados para que prevalezca el espiritu de independencia nacional en todo el pais.
    Lo importante en las hazanas del Dirigente realizadas al dirigir sabiamente el movimiento por la reunificacion de la nacion coreana segun el proposito del Presidente es haber dado origen a la impetuosa corriente de la gran unidad nacional en el territorio coreano.
    Fue abierta la nueva historia de la unidad nacional por el sublime patriotismo y la virtud del Dirigente quien acoge y orienta a la via de la reunificacion a todas las personas quienes con la conciencia nacional actuan a favor de reunificacion.
    El Dirigente tomo las medidas trascendentales para que todos los coreanos del Norte y el Sur se encuentren para intercambiar opiniones, compartir el sentimiento fraternal y coordinar propositos.
    Hoy en dia, todos los coreanos del Norte, el Sur y en ultramar con diferentes ideas, ideales, criterios politicos y creencias religiosas se levantan activamente en el movimiento por la reunificacion de la patria uniendose firmemente bajo la bandera de la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio.
    Todo esto es un gran fruto de la politica de gran unidad del Dirigente.
