People's Org.s Vow to Greet Important =Anniv. Next Year with Shining Successes

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- The working people's organizations in the DPRK held plenary meetings to vow to greet the 95th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il and the 75th founding anniversary of the Korean People's Army with high political zeal and shining labor achievements. The 56th plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, the 48th plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union and the 52nd plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea separately took place here on Sept. 19, 20 and 21.
    All the plenary meetings proposed tasks to be undertaken to energetically conduct the organizational and political work for significantly marking important anniversaries next year with a view to firmly preserving the revolutionary feats performed by the President and glorifying them generation after generation and making a tangible contribution to the accomplishment of the Songun revolutionary cause of the Workers' Party of Korea and ways to do so.
    The plenary meetings called on the working people's organizations at all levels and their officials to dynamically conduct an ideological educational work to eternally hold the President in high esteem as the father of socialist Korea and the sun of Juche, defend the headquarters of revolution politically and ideologically and with their lives and more firmly uphold the Songun idea and leadership of the Party. The plenary meetings underlined the need for the working people's organizations to pay primary attention to thoroughly ensuring the political and ideological purity of their ranks and augmenting the military power of the country in every way and conduct a variety of vigorous mass movements to bring about a boost in the production in all sectors and at all units of economic construction.
    The meetings also called for earnestly introducing the revolutionary soldier culture created in the era of Songun to make a fresh leap forward in the building of a great prosperous powerful nation, holding higher the red flag of revolution and loudly singing songs of revolution and struggle.

DPRK Birthday Observed Abroad

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held by the Saratov Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy of Russia, the Russian Youth Association for the Study of the Songun Policy, the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea and the Tunisia-Korea Friendship Association from Sept. 7 to 9 on the occasion of the birthday of the DPRK. A photo exhibition and film show were held by the Indian Institute for Foreign Policy Studies and film shows were arranged by a firm and company of Malaysia, a stock company of Zimbabwe and the Czech Taekwon-Do Association from Sept. 5 to 8 on the same occasion.
    On display in the venue of the photo exhibition were photos introducing the proud path covered by the DPRK and participants of film shows watched Korean films. Speakers at functions referred to the exploits President Kim Il Sung performed in the nation-building, recalling that the DPRK has demonstrated its might as a socialist powerful country independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence under his wise leadership.
    Noting that Korean-style socialism is sure to triumph under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, they stated the Korean people will build a great prosperous powerful nation and surely achieve the country's reunification in the near future under his wise leadership. A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting held by the Russian Youth Association for the Study of the Songun Policy.

National School Youth and Children's Games Held

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- The swimming contests of the 32nd National Games of School Youth and Children for "Jong Il Peak Cup," the swimming contests of the University Student Games for "September 5 Cup" and the 10th National Basketball Games of Youth and Students for "August 28 Youth Cup" took place here from Sept. 13 to 20. In the swimming contests of the games for "Jong Il Peak Cup" the boy swimmers of the Pyongyang Wisong Middle School and the girl swimmers of the Pyongyang Tonghung Middle School emerged the winners in the middle school group and the boy swimmers of the elementary course of the Chilbong Middle School in Chongdan County and the girl swimmers of the Pyongyang Kum Song Street Primary School emerged supreme in the primary school group in total points.
    In the swimming contests for "September 5 Cup" boys and girls of Kim Il Sung University captured the title in the university group and boys of Pyongyang Sungho College of Building Materials and girls of Pyongyang College of Electrical Engineering finished the winners in the college group.
    First prize went to the men and women cagers of Kim Il Sung University in the university group at the basketball games of youth and students for "August 28 Youth Cup."
    The men players of South Hamgyong Province finished on the top in the working youth group.

Architectural Aesthetic Symposium Held

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- A symposium on architectural aesthetics of Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory was held at the Concert Hall of the conservatory on Sept. 21. Presented to the symposium were five papers proving the architectural aesthetic characteristic of the conservatory which has been built as a monument of the times under the loving care for posterity and wise leadership of Kim Jong Il. The speakers explained in detail that the unique theme of depiction defining the seed, content and form in building the conservatory was made clear by his energetic guidance, so that Juche character, modernity, plastic character and artistic quality could be combined in all components of architectural formation.
    Organic combination of architecture and fine arts is an important guarantee for increasing the plastic character and artistic quality of the buildings, they said, stressing that the main building of the conservatory, the mark of the concert hall, main painting "Blue Sky over My Country" on the front wall of the lobby of the hall, a bust of Composer Kim Won Gyun and other sculptures and harmoniously graven pattern decorations are conducive to clarifying the character and mission of the conservatory in a plastic and artistic way and dignifying the buildings.
    They discussed the tasks and ways to erect many more buildings to suit people's aesthetic desire and demand.
    Present at the symposium were Pae Tal Jun, minister of State Construction Control who is chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Union of Architects, officials concerned, architectural designers and technicians and officials of architectural scientific and educational institutions.

Reception Given on Army Day of Egypt

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Ahmed Medhat, military attache of the Egyptian embassy here, hosted a reception at the Taedonggang Club for the Diplomatic Corps on Sept. 21 on the occasion of the army day of Egypt. Present on invitation were generals and officers of the Korean People's Army, officials concerned, diplomatic envoys of different countries, representatives of international organizations and military attaches of foreign embassies.
    Egyptian Ambassador Moustafa Mohamed Ahmed Al Hatter and embassy officials were on hand.

Kim Jong Suk, Great Woman Soldier

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Suk is still alive in the minds of the Korean people as woman commander of Mt. Paektu, anti-Japanese war hero and distinguished bodyguard. Keenly experienced the tragedy of national ruin by the Japanese imperialists in her early years, she joined in Sept. Juche 24 (1935) the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) organized and led by President Kim Il Sung, kicking off her revolutionary life as a great woman soldier.
    She regarded it as the first mission of the arms to defend Commander Kim Il Sung, who was shouldering the destiny of the Korean nation.
    She, a matchless crack-shot, distinguished herself by guarding the revolutionary headquarters at a lot of battles including the battle on the outskirts of Dashahe, the battle at Fusong county town and the battle at Hongqihe, thus setting a model of bodyguard.
    In hundreds of battles during the anti-Japanese war, she fully demonstrated her keen perspicacity, accurate judgment, unrivalled courage and superb tactics as a woman commander of the guerrilla army.
    Even after the liberation of the country she, as a bodyguard of the headquarters, did her best to protect the personal safety of the President and poured her heart and soul into building a regular armed forces of revolution. She frequented Pyongyang Institute, the Security Officers Training Center and other schools and training centers at all levels, leading the trainees to be servicemen of the leader armed with the revolutionary ideas and Juche-based tactics of the President and anti-Japanese guerilla method and style of work.
    It was Kim Jong Suk who implanted in the mind of leader Kim Jong Il the idea that the Korean revolution should be accomplished at the point of bayonet. He, remaining true to the noble intention of his mother, has firmly defended and successfully carried forward the Juche-based revolutionary cause with arms in the grave revolutionary struggle for many years.
    The precious life of Kim Jong Suk serves as a source of patriotic zeal of the Korean people, who are striving hard to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation while giving priority to the army.

DPRK Law on Co-operative Production of Castings Adopted

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea adopted the Law on Co-operative Production of Castings in August 2006. The mission of the law is to fully meet the demand of the national economy for casting goods by establishing a strict system and order in the production of castings. The law consists of 27 articles in all.
    Stipulated in the law are the issues of principle to be abided by in the co-operative production of castings.
    It gives a solid legal guarantee to constantly increase casting production in accordance with the requirement of the developing reality by realizing the standardization of castings and the specialization and concentration of their production.

Wreaths Laid before Bust of Kim Jong Suk

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the bust of Kim Jong Suk, anti-Japanese war hero, at the Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery on Mt. Taesong Friday on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of her demise. Standing there was a wreath sent by leader Kim Jong Il.
    Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were senior officials of the party, the army and the state, the chairman of a friendly party, leading officials of working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and working people and school youth and children in the city. Placed there were wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.
    Also laid there were wreaths in the name of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, working people's organizations, ministries, national institutions, units of the Korean People's Army, scientific, educational, public health and media organizations, the Joint National Organization of the Korean Children's Union, party and power bodies, factories and farms in Pyongyang and bouquets.
    The participants paid silent tribute to Kim Jong Suk, recollecting her noble revolutionary life and exploits.
    Meanwhile, floral baskets were also placed before her statues standing in Kim Jong Suk County in Ryanggang Province, Hoeryong City in North Hamgyong Province and at Kim Jong Suk Naval Academy and Kim Jong Suk General Military School. A floral basket was laid before her statue in Hoeryong City by a delegation of a co. ltd., in Helong City of China.

Letter to Kim Jong Il from Participants in Film Festival

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Leader Kim Jong Il received a letter from the participants in the 10th Pyongyang International Film Festival on Friday. The festival was all the more significant one as it was well organized and flawless, the letter said, and went on:
    During the festival we have come to understand well that Kim Jong Il has paid special concern to the movie sector long ago and energetically guided movie-making to open a heyday in the development of Korean movies. We were moved to see good feature films "A Schoolgirl's Diary" and "Pyongyang Nalpharam" reflecting the fresh development of Korean movies.
    Seeing with our own eyes all the Korean moviemen ardently revering Your Excellency Kim Jong Il as their benevolent father and dear teacher, we have been convinced that Korean movie art will make leaping progress in the future as long as they are under your wise leadership.
    Short as our stay in your country was, we could realize that the secret that the Korean people wrought world-startling miracles one after another, bravely breaking through difficulties lies in the single-minded unity of the leader and the people. "Transfer of Right to Command Wartime Operations" Termed Move for New War

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Korean National Peace Committee in a statement Friday termed the "transfer of the right to command wartime operations" much touted by the U.S. and the south Korean military authorities moves to round off the preparations for the second Korean war and ignite it any moment according to the U.S. new anti-north war strategy. Recalling that the commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea blustered they would stage joint military exercises in keeping with the "transfer of the right to command wartime operations" separately from "Ulji Focus Lens" and "RSOI," the statement noted that the U.S. is contemplating using the south Korean army as a shock brigade for a war against the north and bullet shields for the U.S. troops under the signboard of transferring the above-said right.
    It went on:
    It is meaningless to talk about the "transfer of the right to command wartime operations" as long as the U.S. military presence and domination over south Korea go on. It is, therefore, no more than a third-rate drama.
    The U.S. only seeks to perpetuate the military presence in south Korea and launch a war of aggression against the north.
    Nevertheless, the south Korean military authorities are hell bent on the moves for a war against the north under the signboard of the "self-reliant defence." This is an extremely hideous crime against the nation.
    It is as clear as noonday that there can be neither self-reliance nor improved inter-Korean relations as long as the south Korean military authorities beg for the U.S. forces' permanent presence in south Korea and zealously join foreign forces in the war moves to stifle fellow countrymen.
    The south Korean people should resolutely reject the war moves stepped up by the U.S. and south Korean military warlike forces behind the curtain of the "transfer of the right to command wartime operations" and vigorously turn out in the struggle to get the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops withdrawn from south Korea at an early date.

Pyongyang Int'l Film Festival Closes

     Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- The 10th Pyongyang International Film Festival which opened on Sept. 13 closed on Friday with due ceremony at the People's Palace of Culture. Present at the closing ceremony were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kang Nung Su, minister of Culture who is chairman of the Organizing Committee of the festival, Pang Chol Gap, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, officials concerned, creators and artistes in the field of movie industry and working people in the city.
    Also present there were delegations and delegates from various countries which participated in the festival.
    Diplomatic envoys of various countries and staff members of foreign embassies here were present there on invitation.
    At the closing ceremony the jury announced the results of the contest and prizes were awarded to successful films.
    A letter to leader Kim Jong Il from the participants in the film festival was adopted at the ceremony.
    Kang Nung Su in a closing address said that the festival has come to a successful close thanks to the sincere efforts of the participants in the festival and progressive moviemen.
    He pointed to the fact that while staying in the DPRK the participants in the festival expressed support to the Korean people in their just cause of energetically pushing ahead with the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation. He declared the festival closed, noting that the Korean people would as ever make positive efforts to steadily develop the Pyongyang International Film Festival.     Among the full-length feature films that entered the contest French film "Not Here to Be Loved" received the prize of production, French film "Hidden" the prize of scenario, Indian film "Tale of 3 Cities" the prize of shooting, the Belgian actor who played the part of a hero in the Belgian film "Off Screen" the prize of male star acting, the Swiss actress who played the part of a female teacher in Swiss film "Sternenberg" the prize of female star acting, the Indian film "Tale of 3 Cities" received the art prize, Russian film "The Vesyegonsk's She-Wolf" was awarded the music prize and Chinese film "Taihang Mountain" the technical prize.
    Among the TV program films that entered competition Swedish documentary "The Armwrestler from Solitude" received the prize of production, Egyptian documentary "About Feeling Cold" got the prize for the framework of story, the French documentary "The Emperor's Journey" the prize of shooting, a sequel to Korean children's film "The Clever Racoon Dog" was awarded the art prize and the French documentary "The Emperor's Journey" also got the music prize.
    Both Syrian film "Public Relations" and Chinese film "Warm Spring" won the prize of the Festival Organizing Committee and the Vietnamese documentary film "Children and Grandchildren of the Soldiers" was awarded the prize of the festival international jury.

    　Pyongyang, 22 de septiembre (ATCC) -- El simposio de estetica arquitectonica sobre el Conservatorio Kim Won Gyun de Pyongyang tuvo lugar el dia 21 en el salon musical de este plantel docente. En la ocasion se publicaron 5 disertaciones que explican y argumentan la caracteristica estetica arquitectonica del Conservatorio levantado como un monumento de la epoca bajo la sabia direccion y gran amor del Dirigente Kim Jong Il a las generaciones venideras.
    Los oradores dieron explicaciones detalladas de que con la dinamica direccion del Dirigente se dilucido el original tema descriptivo que determina la semilla, contenido y forma en la creacion arquitectonica del conservatorio para poder combinar con acierto el caracter jucheano, contemporaneo, formativo y el valor artistico en todos los componentes de la obra arquitectonica.
    La combinacion organica de la arquitectura con las bellas artes es la garantia importante para elevar el caracter formativo y el valor artistico de los edificios, senalaron los oradores y abundaron que las esculturas de dibujo y adorno formadas armoniosamente con las insignias del edificio principal y el salon musical, la pintura principal expuesta al frente del zaguan central de este "El cielo azul de mi pais", y el busto del compositor Kim Won Gyun contribuyen a aclarar de modo figurativo el caracter y la mision del conservatorio y asegurar la calidad de las obras arquitectonicas de este.

Heroina de lucha antijaponesa Kim Jong Suk

    　Pyongyang, 22 de septiembre (ATCC) -- Tambien hoy, el pueblo coreano llama con infinita veneracion a Kim Jong Suk como "generala del monte Paektu", "heroina de lucha antijaponesa" y "destacada generala de escolta". Estos vocativos hacen evocar su figura como gran guerrera. Ella experimento en carne propia del martirio nacional apatrida bajo el yugo del imperialismo japones y se incorporo en septiembre del 24 (1935) de la Era Juche al Ejercito Revolucionario Popular de Corea, fundado y dirigido por el Presidente Kim Il Sung.
    Fue la primera partida de su vida revolucionaria como gran guerrera. Considero primera mision del fusil defender al Comandante Kim Il Sung quien se encargaba del destino de la nacion coreana.
    Formada como tiradora certera, realizo hazanas inmortales al defender la Direccion de la Revolucion en las batallas de Daehahe y Hongqihe, la de asalto a la cabecera del distrito de Fusong, etc., y creo un ejemplo de soldado de corps. Ademas, participo en centenares de combates durante todo el periodo de la lucha antijaponesa, en los cuales dio pruebas plenas de los rasgos de generala de la guerrilla, dispuesta de la perspicacia aguda, el juicio certero, la audacia, valentia y el habil metodo de combate.
    Aun despues de la liberacion de la patria, Kim Jong Suk sirvio de escoltera de la comandancia para defender la seguridad fisica del Presidente e hizo todos los esfuerzos abnegados por la construccion de las fuerzas armadas revolucionarias regulares. Fue con frecuencia a la Escuela de Pyongyang, la Escuela Central de Cuadros de Seguridad y otros centros docentes y puestos de entrenamiento militar para preparar a los cursantes como soldados del Presidente armados con la idea revolucionaria de este, el metodo autoctono de combate, el metodo y estilo de trabajo a la manera de la Guerrilla Antijaponesa.

Ley de la produccion cooperativa de piezas fundidas

    　Pyongyang, 22 de septiembre (ATCC) -- El Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea aprobo en agosto la ley de la produccion cooperativa de piezas fundidas que tiene la mision de establecer estrictamente el regimen y orden en este sector y cubrir satisfactoriamente la demanda de la economia nacional sobre el particular. 　La ley consta de 27 articulos que estipulan los problemas de principios a ser observados en la produccion cooperativa de objetos fundidos.
    　El codigo da firme garantia que permite estandarizar y normalizar las piezas fundidas y especializar y realizar de modo concentrado su produccion para asegurar con satisfaccion la cada dia mas creciente demanda sobre el particular y aumentar de continuo su produccion conforme a la demanda de la realidad en desarrollo.

Ofrendas florales ante estatuas de bronce de Kim Jong Suk

     Pyongyang, 22 de septiembre (ATCC) -- Con motivo del 57o aniversario del fallecimiento de la heroina de lucha antijaponesa Kim Jong Suk, fueron depositadas el dia 22 ofrendas florales ante su busto en el Cementerio de Martires Revolucionarios en el Monte Taesong. ? Alli estaba colocada una ofrenda floral enviada por el Dirigente Kim Jong Il. En la ocasion participaron los cuadros del partido, el ejercito y el Estado, los presidentes de partidos amigos, funcionarios directivos de las organizaciones de masas, ministerios y organismos centrales, oficiales y soldados del Ejercito Popular de Corea, trabajadores, jovenes y ninos escolares en la capital.
    Tambien fueron colocadas las ofrendas florales a nombre del CC del PTC, el Presidium de la Asamblea Popular Suprema y el Consejo de Ministros, de la RPDC, las otras y ramos de flores a nombre del Ministerio de las Fuerzas Armadas Populares, organizaciones de masas, ministerios, organismos centrales, unidades del EPC, instituciones de ciencia, ensenanza, salud publica, prensa e informacion, el conjunto nacional de las organizaciones de la Union de Ninos de Corea, organos del partido y el Poder, fabricas y granjas en la capital.
    Los participantes guardaron un momento de silencio recordando la noble vida y proezas revolucionarias de Kim Jong Suk.
    El mismo dia, tambien fueron puestos cestos de flores ante las estatuas de bronce de ella en el distrito de Kim Jong Suk de la provincia de Ryanggang, la ciudad de Hoeryong de la provincia de Hamgyong del Norte, la Academia Naval y la Escuela Combinada de Oficiales que llevan el nombre de ella.
    Lo hizo tambien ante la estatua de bronce de Kim Jong Suk en la ciudad de Hoeryong la delegacion de una compania de la ciudad Helong de China.
