World People Urged to Heighten Vigilance against U.S. "War on Terrorism"
Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- U.S. President Bush in a speech as regards the lapse of five years since the "September 11 incident" described "anti-terrorism war" as "a battle for civilization" and "duty of the U.S." This reflects the U.S. criminal intention to escalate the "anti-terrorism war" worldwide, observes Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article.
The "anti-terrorism war" fought by the U.S. for the past five years was an escalation of war of aggression and state-sponsored terrorism to eliminate anti-imperialist independent countries from the world, the article says, and goes on:
Anti-imperialist independent countries have been targets of the U.S. "war on terrorism."
The American political mode and lifestyle cannot be accepted by other countries. It is quite natural, therefore, that they cannot accept them. The U.S. sacrifices those countries for its "war on terrorism", taking issue with their exercises of sovereign rights. This is unlawful high-handed practices and brigandish state-sponsored terrorism.
The U.S. "war on terrorism" is a major stumbling block lying in the way of the peaceful progress in the new century. The U.S. imperialists' aggressive escalation of "war on terrorism" prompts the formation of new structure of forces, fierce competition of strength among big powers and many countries are embroiled in it directly or indirectly.
Anyone can fall victim to the U.S. "war on terrorism" unless one heightens vigilance against it, the article warns, stressing that this is a lesson the world has drawn from the U.S. "war on terrorism."

Rodong Sinmun on Songun Idea
Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- Songun idea is an idea of giving importance to the army and military affairs as it clarifies the position and role of the army in the revolutionary struggle for independence. Juche idea considers it as its basic requirement to fully realize the independence of the popular masses and the Songun idea indicates the way of most thoroughly meeting this requirement of the Juche idea.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a by-lined article. It continues:
The Songun idea overcame the limitations of the preceding theory which viewed the conditions of the social revolution with main emphasis on its objective and economic factors and clearly elucidated the profound truth that revolution means army building and vice versa. A rifle serves as the most treasured sword to be held tightly in the whole course of revolutionary struggle to realize the independence of the masses.
A rifle serves as a powerful weapon for achieving the social and political independence of the people by rejecting national and class subjugation and an effective treasured sword to smash the imperialists' policies of aggression and war and advance the masses' cause of independence.
It is the immutable truth of revolution clarified by the Songun idea of the Workers' Party of Korea that tremendous military power alone guarantees the sovereignty and independence of the country and the nation and a victory of socialism and attaching importance to the army is the best way of achieving the popular masses' independence and carving out their destiny.
Rodong Sinmun Calls for Three-Point Patriotic Movement
Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- The patriotic movement for independent reunification, peace against war and great national unity is the basic mode of struggle to carve out the destiny of the Korean nation at present, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article.
The article goes on:
The movement for independent reunification is a sacred patriotic movement to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the nation. It is necessary to fully embody the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration in the above-said movement and strongly reject the U.S. domination and interference in the issue of national reunification.
The movement for peace against war is the most urgent task on which hinges the destiny of the nation at present. The Koreans should force the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces, the very source of war, to quit south Korea as early as possible.
Great national unity serves as a powerful weapon for achieving independence reunification and winning victory in the struggle for peace against war. All the Koreans in the north, the south and overseas should give further momentum to the atmosphere of national reconciliation and unity under the uplifted banner of "By our nation itself" and boost the solidarity and unity in the movement for independent reunification and peace against war.
The movement for national reunification to put an end to the history of national division is by no means a smooth sailing as it has lasted for over six decades. The Koreans in the north, the south and abroad should carry on their dynamic struggle, taking the above-said three-point patriotic movement as the main tasks of the movement for reunification.

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- To establish a new and fair international financial and monetary system is one of the essential requirements for the non-aligned and other developing countries to get rid of the imperialists' domination and subjugation, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article.
The establishment of the new system is also important for those non-aligned and other developing countries to achieve self-supporting in economy, the article says, calling on the countries to work hard to establish the new and fair international financial and monetary system to successfully build self-supporting national economy.
The article goes on:
The new system is also necessary to check the imperialists' arbitrary practice in the financial and monetary field. It is impossible for the non-aligned and other developing countries to check the imperialists' arbitrary practice in the field as long as the unfair and old system remains in force.
There may be big and small countries, more developed and less developed countries and countries with longer history and shorter history in the world. But there can never be a country of higher and lower position and a nation dominating others and a nation dominated by it. It is the common task of all countries and nations aspiring after independence to bring down the unfair and old financial and monetary system and establish a new fair international system in the field.
