Abe Warned Not to Play Petty Trick: Rodong Sinmun
Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Recently Japanese Prime Minister Abe said that Japan inflicted wounds upon various Asian countries in the past and uttered words of remorse for this. He added he would accept the criticism of his misunderstanding of history.
Rodong Sinmun Monday in a signed commentary terms his remarks an ostrich policy, warning Abe not to play a petty trick over the issue of visit to the "Yasukuni Shrine".
Disclosing Abe's ulterior intention to avoid any comment on the issue although he made it clear that he would "inherit" the view of the preceding regime on Japan's past crimes of aggression, the commentary goes on:
It is clear to everybody that his petty trick can never be understandable to the neighboring countries as even Japanese media criticized it as red herring.
For all his efforts to maintain an ambiguous attitude, his real intention has already been brought to light.
Even before holding premiership, he supported the predecessor's visits to the "Yasukuni Shrine" and made a secret visit to the shrine in April. Recently 84 members of the "Dietmen's Association for Inviting All to Visit the 'Yasukuni Shrine'" including an advisor to the prime minister and a vice-minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Post and Telecommunications made a group visit to the shrine.
By avoiding for the time being any mention about the visit to the shrine, a very sensitive political issue and an international problem, Abe seeks to escape international criticism. As a matter of fact, he has not abandoned the idea of visiting the shrine.
If the Japanese authorities felt remorseful of the crime-woven past even a bit, there would be no reason for them to refuse to clarify their stand not to visit the "Yasukuni Shrine".
There are disturbing moves in Japan at present to operate the "Yasukuni Shrine," a centre for spreading the militaristic idea, as a national cemetery for the purpose of openly conducting national and international official functions there.
Japan would be well advised to make a right option, bearing in mind that it is the only way for it to restore the confidence of the international community to settle its past crimes as early as possible.

Therefore, the capsule helps pancreas form insulin and promotes the recovery of its function.
The capsule is also efficacious for cerebral thrombosis, arteriosclerosis and cancer.
The mineral yeast is essential to fat metabolism and cholesterol metabolism. It reduces hyperlipemia and thrombosis, promotes dissolution and evacuation of cholesterol and thus prevents arteriosclerosis.
Medical institutions have applied the capsule to 120 type-2 diabetics. Japan Government's Sanctions Condemned by Koreans in Japan
Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- A meeting of Koreans in Japan took place at the Korean Cultural Hall in Tokyo on Oct. 21 to denounce the Japan government's inhumane and unreasonable sanctions trampling down the life and rights of Koreans in Japan, according to a KNS report from Tokyo.
Present there were Chairman So Man Sul and Chief Vice-Chairman Ho Jong Man of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and others.
Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, made a report at the meeting.
He condemned the Japan government for unhesitatingly committing unethical national discrimination against Koreans in Japan, following the U.S. policy of stifling the DPRK.
It is unpardonable for the Japan government to have banned the entry of ship Mangyongbong-92 into Japanese ports, he pointed out.
He referred to the fact that the Japan government cancelled the exemption of the Central Hall and other facilities of Chongryon from the fixed property tax and made unreasonable investigation into the taxation of Korean industrialists and traders.
An exclusive trend is prevalent in the Japanese society due to the extensive smear media report against the DPRK, he said, adding that wild words and assaults on students of Korean schools, terrorist acts against Chongryon institutions, and other anti-Chongryon moves continued in Japan.
This is a grave act of not only evading the historical, political and moral duty of Japan to compensate for its past crimes and protect Koreans in Japan but betraying the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration.
He strongly demanded the Japan government lift its unreasonable sanctions at once and fully ensure the life and rights of Koreans in Japan.
The meeting heard speeches condemning the anti-DPRK, anti-Chongryon moves of the Japanese reactionaries.
Diamond Jubilee of Enforcement of Secondary Education of Koreans in Japan Marked
Tokyo, October 21 (KNS-KCNA) -- A meeting of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) took place at the Korean Cultural Hall in Tokyo on Oct. 21 to mark the 60th anniversary of the enforcement of secondary education of Korean children in Japan.
The participants heard a message of greetings sent by the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK to the meeting and similar messages from the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland, the DPRK Ministry of Education and others were introduced.
So Man Sul, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, in a report said that all rights and legitimate position of national education were the fruition of the strenuous and self-sacrificing efforts of the compatriots in Japan standing firm against the moves of the Japanese authorities and reactionary forces to exterminate the Korean nation.
It is the greatest success made in national education that a large number of young people who graduated from Korean schools in Japan have steadfastly succeeded to the tradition of the patriotic movement for the last six decades, the reporter noted, and continued:
Thanks to the deep love and care of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il they have developed the national education for the last more than half a century, protecting the language and culture of Korea with national soul, giving steady continuity to the dynamic and united Korean community with patriotism and setting an example of the movement of overseas compatriots even under so hard conditions in Japan.
At the meeting a decree of the Presidium of the DPRK SPA was read out before titles of People's Teacher and Merited Teacher were awarded to educational workers of Chongryon.
A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted there.
The letter said that all the officials of Chongryon and compatriots in Japan would take the above-said diamond jubilee as an occasion of effecting a leap forward in the work to firmly protect the national education by the concerted efforts of broad strata of compatriots under any circumstances and put it on a new higher stage as required by the new century.
It manifested their resolution to firmly protect the right to national education from the vicious anti-DPRK and anti-Chongryon moves of the Japanese authorities and ultra-right reactionary forces toeing the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.
At the end of the meeting a performance of music, dances and poems titled "Eldest Son for National Education, Successor to Patriotic Movement" was given in celebration of the jubilee.
