U.S. and S. Korean Bellicose Forces' Moves for Nuclear War against DPRK Blasted

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The bellicose forces of the United States and south Korea are nowadays getting evermore frantic in their moves to provoke a nuclear war against the DPRK under the pretext of its nuclear test. They are totally revising and supplementing their scenarios for a war against the DPRK, including "OPLAN 5027" while stepping up the introduction of latest nuclear war means. A spokesman for the Korean National Peace Committee released a statement on Friday blasting such moves.
    Such madcap nuclear war moves against the DPRK are an extremely reckless provocation as they cause the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula to fester and drive the situation to the worst phase, the statement said, and went on:
    The United States has turned south Korea into a nuclear arsenal, posing the threat of a nuclear war to the Korean nation for several decades. Instead of apologizing for such crimes, it is hatching a more dangerous plot to ignite a nuclear war, taking issue with the DPRK over its war deterrent for just self-defence. This proves that the U.S. has no intention to solve the nuclear issue on the peninsula but a wild design to ignite a nuclear war against the DPRK by aggravating the situation at any cost.
    The U.S. is citing the DPRK's self-defensive nuclear deterrent as a pretext for escalating the nuclear arms race and provoking a war against the DPRK. Such behavior can never work on anybody as it is a reckless and brigandish deed reminding one of a thief crying "Stop the thief!"
    It is a day-dream to seek to bring down the dignified political system in the DPRK.
    The army and the people of the DPRK are fully ready to retaliate against any provocation or nuclear war moves.
    The U.S. and the south Korean war-like forces would be well advised to stop running amuck and cancel at once such extremely provocative and reckless war scenarios.
    The south Korean military authorities should not do such a foolish thing as taking part in the war moves of the outsiders, well aware that the "nuclear umbrella" of their master would not protect them but only invite a disaster.

More Meetings Hail Successful Nuclear Test

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- More provincial meetings of servicepersons and people took place in the DPRK to hail the successful historic nuclear test. Meetings held in North Phyongan Province, North and South Hwanghae Provinces and North and South Hamgyong Provinces were attended by officials of the Party and power organs and working people's organizations, officers and men of the Korean People's Army and people from all walks of life and youth and students.
    Speakers at the meetings said that the successful nuclear test in the DPRK was an event which demonstrated the self-reliant national defence capability of Songun Korea and made a contribution to defending the peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Northeast Asia.
    The successful nuclear test gave a great inspiration and confidence to the army and people of the DPRK who have wished to have tremendous national power to stand up against the U.S. which has become evermore undisguised in its moves for a nuclear war and encouraged them in their dynamic advance for a victory in the Songun revolution, they noted, and continued:
    No matter how desperately the U.S. imperialists and their followers may work to bring down the socialist system centered on the popular masses in the DPRK, they can never break the revolutionary faith and indomitable will of the army and people of the DPRK to resolutely defend their ideology and system with powerful deterrent.
    The speakers called for reliably standing guard over the outposts for defending the country and bringing about a fresh leap forward in the production and construction, true to the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il, to hasten the victory in the socialist cause.

Support to DPRK Reiterated by Tunisian Party

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- Mouhammad Bouchiha, secretary general of the People's Unity Party of Tunisia, said that the Political Bureau of his party reiterates its support to the DPRK standing up against the U.S. moves. The secretary general clarified this stand when referring to the Party's foreign relations at the meeting of its Political Bureau held on Oct. 17.

Diamond Jubilee of Magazine Kulloja Observed

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- Kulloja, the political and theoretical organ of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, greeted its 60th anniversary. President Kim Il Sung founded magazine Kulloja on Oct. 25, Juche 35 (1946) after the liberation of the country.
    The founding of Kulloja provided the WPK with another powerful ideological and theoretical weapon for firmly arming the officials and other party members and working people with the idea of the leader and the party's line and policies, its embodiment, and arousing them to implement the party's policies.
    Over the last 60 years Kulloja has positively contributed to carrying out the cause of the WPK, the revolutionary cause of Juche, by energetically explaining the greatness of the Juche idea and the Songun idea and their originality, validity and vitality.
    A meeting was held on Oct. 25 to mark the anniversary.

Anniversary of Hydro-Meteorological Service Observed

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held here on Oct. 26 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Hydro-Meteorological Service. President Kim Il Sung founded the service on July 10, Juche 35 (1946).
    Present at the meeting were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, and Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet.
    A congratulatory message sent by the Central Committee of the WPK to the scientists, technicians and employees of the service was conveyed at the meeting.
    The message said that over the last 60 years the service has grown to be the nation's reliable centre for meteorological, hydrological and oceanographic studies under the wise guidance of the party and the leader, successfully performing its revolutionary duty.
    The scientists, technicians and employees of the service have put observation on a normal footing and steadily improved forecast methods, true to the WPK's Juche-oriented policy on meteorology, hydrology and oceanography, thereby successfully providing a lot of information needed by various fields of the national economy, the message noted, adding that in this course the service has contributed to preventing natural calamities and stepping up socialist construction.
    A reporter and speakers at the meeting said that the service would fully ensure scientific accuracy, correctness and speed in observation and forecast in the fields of meteorology, hydrology and oceanography so as to prevent natural disasters in various fields of the national economy including agriculture and push forward production and construction.
    They stressed the need to conduct a dynamic drive for forecasting the prospect of climatic change in the country resulting from global warming, and successfully settle scientific and technological issues arising in controlling water resources, effectively developing and using marine resources, etc.

Suppression of Progressive Organizations under Fire in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon) on October 23 reportedly issued a statement denouncing the public security authorities for their persecution of Choe Hui Jong, permanent researcher of the Institute for Civil Rights Studies of south Korea, and their scheme to fabricate the "case of backstage organization". The statement noted that the public security authorities were persecuting him on suspicion of violation of the "National Security Law," taking issue with him over progressive academic studies, and were scheming to trump up and expand the case of alleged "force of backstage manipulation" behind progressive organizations including Hanchongryon.
    It is a patriotic activity required by the June 15 era of national reunification to achieve it by the efforts of the Korean nation itself, not an offence to be punished as an "enemy-benefiting" act, said the statement.
    It demanded the public security authorities immediately drop the reckless scheme to cook up the case against progressive organizations and release guiltless Choe.

Ministries of Electric Power Industry and Coal Industry Set Up

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK on Oct. 26 issued a decree on removing the Ministry of Electric Power and Coal Industries and setting up the Ministry of Electric Power Industry and the Ministry of Coal Industry.

Withdrawal of U.S. Forces Urged

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialist aggression troops in south Korea are the very one harassing peace and posing a war threat on the Korean Peninsula, says Rodong Sinmun Friday in a signed article, excerpts from which read: A war can be averted and peace be ensured on the peninsula only when the U.S. troops are pulled out at an early date.
    It is the Korea policy long pursued by the U.S. to topple the DPRK by force and put the whole of Korea under its control and domination. In pursuance of this aggressive and dominationist Korea strategy, the U.S. has kept its aggression troops in south Korea and persisted in military occupation and domination.
    The aggression troops have committed madcap military provocations and war moves against the DPRK since the very day of their occupation of south Korea in utter disregard of the desire of the Korean nation and the requirement of international law in a bid to carry out the U.S. brigandish Korea strategy.
    The U.S. forces' moves of aggression and war against the DPRK have assumed greater intensity of late.
    The U.S. imperialists put a heavier stumbling block in the way of ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula by enhancing their forces' aggressive role and increasing their capability to fight a war under the pretext of "strategic flexibility" of the U.S. forces in south Korea. And now they are putting greater spurs to the war exercises against the DPRK and arms buildup under the cloak of "transfer of the right to control wartime operations".
    The U.S. forces' occupation and domination of south Korea and their moves to launch a war of aggression against the DPRK are a crime against peace and the times.
    If south Korea remains under their occupation, the whole Korean nation cannot evade a nuclear holocaust.
    The withdrawal of the U.S. forces from south Korea is, in the final count, a matter of averting a war and ensuring peace on the Korean Peninsula. All the Koreans should build up a fiercer flame of the struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. forces, staking the destiny of the nation, and thus pave the way for peace and reunification.

Liquidation of Pro-U.S. Conservative Forces in S. Korea Urged

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- A struggle for liquidating the past history now under way in south Korea should be ceaselessly conducted with full force until the crimes the reactionary conservative forces perpetrated in the past in a bid to block the independent and democratic development of the society and quell the desire of the south Korean people for national unity and reunification in league with foreign forces have been fully disclosed and their remnants have been thrown overboard. Rodong Sinmun Friday urges this in a signed article. It goes on:
    The above-said struggle is a struggle for finding settlement of the crimes committed by the fascist dictators in the past and bringing about new politics and new life, and it represents an advance for justice as it is meant to bury the pro-U.S. conservative forces who have covered a path of treachery for more than half a century, backed by foreign forces.
    The pro-U.S. fascist dictatorial forces in south Korea had been ousted from power after being forsaken by the times and people as they had infringed upon democracy and human rights and committed unpardonable crimes against the nation and humanity in reliance upon foreign forces. But the remnants of the history and their descendents have not been buried but joined the "Grand National Party," whetting their swords to seek revenge.
    The GNP is a traitorous party that has grown from the roots of the pro-U.S. fascist dictatorship. It is operating as a shelter for traitorous forces and their descendents and as a base for their frantic offensives. The "GNP" is, therefore, is the principal target of the struggle for liquidating the past history as it is based on the same pro-U.S. fascist dictatorship as what was in force in the past.
    The "GNP" is dead-set against the liquidation of the past history for fear that it may be brought to justice by history for the crimes perpetrated by its predecessor.
    The "GNP," instead of quitting the political arena after apologizing to the nation for the above-mentioned crimes, is playing a petty trick in a bid to keep those crimes buried into oblivion and working hard to satisfy its greed fro power through the next "presidential election." It is as clear as noonday that in case the "GNP" comes to power, it will ride roughshod over people and restore the harsh fascist dictatorship against them. This traitorous party should never be allowed to wrest power, the article urges.

Greetings to Turkmen President

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov on Friday on the occasion of the 15th national day of his country. The message wished the President success in his responsible work, expressing the belief that the bilateral ties of friendship would continue to develop on good terms.

Jongum Gate, Historical Relic of Korea

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- There is the Jongum Gate in Moran Hill of Pyongyang, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. It belongs to the period of Koguryo (B.C. 277-A.D. 668). It was built as the southern gate of the northern castle of Pyongyang, the walled city in the mid 6th century.
    During the Imjin Patriotic War (1592-1598), servicemen and people of Pyongyang smashed Japanese invaders, going in and out through the gate.
    In 1714 when the northern castle was repaired, the gate was built in the shape of arch and the pavilion above the gate rebuilt.
    The ground of the doorway is built with well-trimmed granite stones, its each wall with big stones in seven layers and its ceiling with 15 fan-shaped stones.
    The original gate had two wooden door-leaves.
    The pavilion above the gate has four columns (7.36 meters) on the facade and three columns (4.35 meters) on the flank and hip-saddled roof. It is painted red and blue, adding beauty to the gate.
    The gate was destroyed by the bombing of the U.S. imperialists during the Fatherland Liberation War (1950.6-1953.7) but it was restored to its original state in Juche 48 (1959).
    The gate is a precious historical relic showing the fine architecture of the Korean nation and telling the patriotic struggle of ancestors for defending the country.

Consciousness, One of Attributes of Man, Social Being

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The Juche idea expounds that consciousness is one of the attributes of man, the social being. Consciousness is an attribute of man, the social being who regulates all the activities to understand and transform the world and himself.
    Man, different from other organisms that blindly act on their biological instinct, is a conscious social being that purposefully adjusts all his activities for understanding and changing the world and himself.
    What man understands the world means grasping the essence and motion laws of things and phenomena existing in the objective world. And what man understands himself means to understand his interests in relation with the objective things and the ability for transforming them.
    Basing himself on the understanding of the world and himself, man works out a plan to change them and conducts purposeful and conscious activities for carrying it into practice.
    The conscious activities of man differ from action of other organisms.
    Consciousness is the inherent attribute of conscious man.
    It is the highest function of man's brain, the most developed organ among his physical organs.
    The brain plays a pivotal role in man's activities while consciousness, the product of the brain, controls all his acts.
    Man with such consciousness is the most advanced and powerful being in the world who understands the world and grasps the laws governing its movement and development, becomes aware of his independent requirement and interests and remoulds the world in a purposeful and conscious way.
    The man-centered socialism of the DPRK is an advanced one in which the people's consciousness is given full rein.

DPRK's Important Days Commemorated in Peru

    Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- Functions took place at various units of Peru from Oct. 9 to 11 on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, addressing a seminar held by the front, said that the DPRK has become a powerful socialist nation thanks to the wise guidance of the WPK which was founded by President Kim Il Sung and is now led by Kim Jong Il, invincible and iron-willed commander.
    He stressed that no force on earth can match socialist Korea which has achieved the single-minded unity of the great leader, the great party, the great army and the great people.
    Victor Oliva Miguel, general secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party of Peru, addressing a reading session and a film show held by the Party, said that the WPK has a proud history of struggle and precious experience. He went on to say: It is an ever-victorious party which has unique revolutionary traditions. The U.S.-led imperialist forces are working hard to stifle socialist Korea but it is demonstrating its might as a nuclear weapons state and a powerful socialist nation thanks to the Songun policy of the WPK.
    Round-table talks and a film show were held by the National Association of Writers and Artists of Peru, at which Estuardo Martinez Peres, chairman of the Peruvian National Independent Movement for the Free Vote Union, said that the WPK is demonstrating its dignity as an invincible party as it always holds eternal President Kim Il Sung in high esteem as its founder and has Kim Jong Il as its general secretary. The WPK is the greatest and most dignified party, he added.
    A DPRK book, photo and handicraft exhibition took place in Jesus Maria District, Lima.
    The participants of the film shows watched Korean films "Brilliant History of the Great Leadership" and "The Korean People's Army, Steel-like Ranks".

    Pyongyang, 27 de octubre (ATCC) -- El rotativo Rodong Sinmun inserto en su edicion del dia 27 un articulo individual que sigue: Las tropas agresoras norteamericanas ocupantes del Sur de Corea son el fautor principal que perturba la paz y acarrea el peligro de guerra en la Peninsula Coreana.
    @Por lo tanto, para detener la guerra y asegurar la paz en esta region, hay que expulsarlas cuanto antes del territorio surcoreano.
    Derrocar con la fuerza a la RPDC y dominar a toda Corea devienen la largamente mantenida estrategia de EE.UU. sobre Corea.
    Para este fin agresivo y dominacionista, el imperio mantiene en el Sur de Corea a sus tropas agresoras y practica la ocupacion y dominacion militares en contra de la voluntad de la nacion coreana y la demanda del derecho internacional.

Acto por el 60o aniversario de la DMH

    Pyongyang, 27 de octubre (ATCC) -- Tuvo lugar el dia 26 en esta capital el acto por el 60o aniversario de la Direccion Meteorologica e Hidrologica (DMH), fundada el 10 de julio del 35 (1946) de la Era Juche por el Presidente Kim Il Sung. En el acto participaron el secretario del Comite Central del Partido del Trabajo de Corea Choe Thae Bok y el viceprimer ministro del Consejo de Ministros Ro Tu Chol.
    En la ocasion se dio lectura al mensaje de felicitacion del CC del PTC enviado a los cientificos, tecnicos y empleados de esa entidad.
    El documento senala que bajo la sabia direccion del PTC y el Lider, la DMH cumplio con exito su deber revolucionario a lo largo de estos 60 anos pasados tras fortalecerse y desarrollarse como base de investigacion de fenomenos atmosfericos, hidrologicos y de la ciencia maritima.
    Indica que los cientificos, tecnicos y empleados, al apoyar la orientacion autoctona del PTC sobre la rama, normalizaron la observacion, mejoraron incesantemente los metodos de pronostico y aseguraron exitosamente muchos materiales necesarios en varios dominios de la economia nacional contribuyendo a prevenir los danos naturales y acelerar la construccion del socialismo.
    El informante y otros oradores dijeron que aseguraran estrictamente lo cientifico, la exactitud y la rapidez de la observacion y el pronostico en los dominios arriba mencionados y asi contribuiran a prevenir los danos naturales en la agricultura y otros sectores de la economia nacional y acelerar la produccion y la construccion.
    Enfatizaron que desarrollaran energicamente la investigacion para pronosticar cambios climaticos del pais a causa del calentamiento de la tierra y solucionaran satisfactoriamente los problemas cientifico-tecnicos que se presentan en la realidad, entre otros, la administracion de los recursos acuaticos, el desarrollo y uso eficiente de los maritimos.

Fuerzas conservadoras proyanquis son blanco de lucha

    Pyongyang, 27 de octubre (ATCC) -- La lucha por la liquidacion de las cuestiones pasadas en el Sur de Corea se debe continuar vigorosamente hasta cuando se indaguen cabalmente los asuntos pasados de las fuerzas conservadoras reaccionarias que en coligacion con las fuerzas extranjeras frenan el desarrollo independiente y democratico de la sociedad y detienen la aspiracion del pueblo a la unidad nacional y la reunificacion de la patria y se eliminen todos sus remanentes. @Senala asi el diario Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual insertado en su edicion del dia 27 y prosigue:
    Es tambien una lucha por corregir la historia pasada tergiversada por los dictadores fascistas y por crear una nueva politica y nueva vida. Ademas es una justa accion para enterrar a las fuerzas conservadoras proyanquis que llevan mas de medio siglo de trayectoria criminal de traicion a la nacion.
    Las fuerzas proyanquis de dictadura fascista del Sur de Corea, que cometieron imperdonables crimenes antinacionales y antieticos aferrandose a las fuerzas foraneas, fueron expulsadas del Poder luego de ser repudiadas por la epoca y el pueblo. Sin embargo sus descendientes y remanentes agrupados en el seno del "Gran Partido Nacional" afilan la cuchilla de la venganza.
    El "Gran Partido Nacional", una agrupacion de traidores que encarna en si la dictadura fascista proyanqui del pasado, sirve de refugio y de base de la ofensiva desesperada de las fuerzas reaccionarias y sus descendientes. Asi el "Gran Partido Nacional" es blanco principal de la lucha por la liquidacion de los asuntos pasados.
    Pero, esta agrupacion que tiene la historia criminal rehusa tercamente la liquidacion del pasado por tener miedo a la sentencia de la historia.
    En lugar de pedir disculpa a la nacion por los crimenes cometidos por sus antecesores y de retirarse del escenario politico, el "Gran Partido Nacional" pretende dejarlos en el olvido de la historia y se desespera para lograr su ambicion de tomar el Poder con motivo de las proximas "elecciones presidenciales".
    Esta agrupacion politica intenta retomar el Poder y reeditar la epoca de dictadura fascista. Nunca se debe tolerar la intencion de este partido traidor de tomar de nuevo el poder.
