Indian Preparatory Committee for Commemorating DPRK's Important Days Formed

    New Delhi, November 5 (KCNA) -- An inaugural ceremony of the Indian Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Day of the Sun and February 16 in 2007 was held in New Delhi on November 1. The inaugural ceremony elected P. Shiv Shankar, former Foreign Minister of India who is chairman of the All India-Korean Friendship Association, as chairman of the preparatory committee.
    The preparatory committee decided to organize colorful functions during the period from November this year to April next year.

Appeal of Swiss Preparatory Committee Supported in Russia

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- The Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK on November 1 made public a statement in support of the appeal of the Swiss preparatory committee for commemorating the Day of the Sun and February 16 in 2007. The statement noted that Kim Il Sung, eternal president of the DPRK, performed undying exploits for the people's freedom and happiness, the country's reunification and the cause of world independence and Kim Jong Il is paving the path for the building of a powerful socialist state while defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country with his unique Songun politics.
    The Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK started the work to form a preparatory council for commemorating the birthdays of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il with splendor, significant days, in support of the initiative of the Swiss friends, the statement said.

"Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works" Vol. 65 Published

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- "Complete Collection of Kim Il Sung's Works" Vol. 65 was brought out by the Workers' Party of Korea Publishing House. It contains 37 famous works including historic speeches, conclusions and talks President Kim Il Sung made from November, Juche 66 (1977) to December of the same year.
    The President in the work "Let Us Further Strengthen the People's Government" clarified principled issues in strengthening the people's government, a powerful weapon for carrying out the revolution and construction, and increasing its function and role in every way.
    He in works including "On Marking April 25 as the Founding Anniversary of the Korean People's Army "and "Let Us Build Up the Strength of the People's Army Through Effective Political Work" indicated overall tasks of strengthening the People's Army, the revolutionary armed forces of the WPK, to be invincible revolutionary armed forces and ways to do so.
    He in such works as "On Waging Dynamic Drive to Fulfill the Second Seven-Year Plan" and "On the Second Seven-Year Plan (1978-1984) for the Development of the National Economy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea" clarified major tasks to be fulfilled under the second seven-year plan, tasks facing various fields of the national economy and ways to implement them.
    The book also deals with a number of issues arising in carrying out the Korean revolution and accomplishing the cause of global independence including the issue of developing the scientific education, the issue of smashing the "two Koreas" plot of the separatists and waging a vigorous struggle to reunify the country and the issue of boosting the friendship and solidarity and cooperation with various countries of the world.

Stop to Fabrication of "Spy Ring Case" Demanded

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- The Educational Information Committee of the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. reportedly made public a statement on Oct. 31 urging the Intelligence Service of south Korea, which is trying to chill the ardent desire of the Korean people to reunify the country by inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation, to immediately stop the fabrication of a "spy ring case." Noting that IS of south Korea was now maneuvering to cook up a "spy ring case" called "single-minded association", the statement said: It is obviously a co-product of IS and the pro-U.S. conservative forces, which is a political terrorism with an eye on the next "presidential election".

U.S. Fresh Moves to Bolster Modern Nuclear Force under Fire

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is stepping up a plan for the construction of a new nuclear arsenal known as "Complex 2030". This is a clear proof that it is putting spurs to the moves to bolster its modern nuclear force, increasingly depending on nukes in realizing its strategy for world domination. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a signed commentary.
    The U.S. new nuclear arsenal project reflects the Bush administration's policy of attaching importance to nukes and it is prompted by its barbarian, brigandish and aggressive design not to bother to use even nukes to achieve its hegemonic and predatory objectives, the commentary notes, and goes on:
    The U.S. imperialists were the first to test the nuclear explosion and use nukes against humanity in the world in the last century.
    They have become all the more undisguised in their attempt at a nuclear war in the new century. The Bush administration considered the strategy of preemptive nuclear attack as the mainstay of its "national security strategy" in the 21st century and has since frantically pushed forward it.
    The U.S. has staged DPRK-targeted nuclear war exercises of various codenames one after another by mobilizing its allies including south Korea, thus bringing the situation on the Korean Peninsula to an extreme pitch of tension. Such being a hard fact, the U.S. is justifying them, describing those saber-rattling as one for "security" and "peace." With nothing can the U.S. imperialists justify their nuclear war moves.
    The U.S. is chiefly to blame for posing the danger of a nuclear war to the world. Humanity finds itself in the danger of a catastrophic nuclear war as the U.S. imperialists are increasing the threat of a nuclear war to other countries while frantically stepping up the preparations for a nuclear war after sidestepping nuclear disarmament. The world can never be free from the danger of a nuclear war nor can humankind escape such danger as long as the U.S. keeps pushing forward the preparations for this kind of war.

Total Dismantlement of S. Korea-U.S. "Combined Command" Demanded

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- The south Korea-U.S. "Combined Command", a military mechanism for aggression to carry out the U.S. strategy against the DPRK, should be totally dismantled. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday demands this in a signed commentary carried 28 years since it came into being on Nov. 7, 1978. Since its inception the command has played the role as a principal mechanism for establishing the U.S. military domination over south Korea and stepping up the preparations for a war against the DPRK, pursuant to the U.S. imperialists' strategy against it, commentary observes, and goes on:
    The public at home and abroad is becoming increasingly assertive for the disorganization of the above-said command. It is against this backdrop that there is opinion calling for the dismantlement of the command over the issue of "transferring the right to control wartime operations between the U.S. and south Korea.
    Why does the U.S. intend to give up the command at this moment?
    The U.S. imperialists' intention to transfer the above-said right to the south Korean army and disorganize the combined command does not mean their willingness to halt their moves for a war against the DPRK, much less terminating the presence of their forces in south Korea or abandoning their right to command and control the south Korean army. This only reveals their sinister intention to escalate them in a smoother manner.
    This is evidenced by the U.S. intention to set up a new operational cooperation headquarters for both peace and war times as a substitute for the combined command in case of transfer of the above-said right.
    The projected new headquarters is different from the existing command in name only because it will play the same function as it has so far done.
    The U.S. imperialists went in south Korea under the signboard of the "UN Command" when they felt the need to do so and used the signboard of the "U.S. Army Command" present in south Korea and the south Korea-U.S. "Combined Command" when they needed that. Now they are seeking another signboard to achieve their objective.
    All facts indicate that as long as the U.S. imperialist aggressor troops remain in south Korea and the U.S. persistently pursues its policy of aggression against the DPRK, the U.S. loud-mouthed "transfer of the right to control wartime operations and disorganization of the "combined command" are nothing but charade as they are senseless and spurious.
    The south Korea-U.S. "Combined Command" should be totally disorganized. And this will come true only when an end is put to the U.S. presence in south Korea and its policy of aggression towards the DPRK.

One Million Mark Overshot in Anti-FTA Signature Campaign in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- The Headquarters of the All-People Movement for Checking the South Korea-U.S. FTA reportedly called a press conference in Seoul on Nov. 1 to announce the hitting of the mark of one million signatures in the all-people signature campaign against the signing of the Free Trade Agreement and declare a general turnout of people to be staged in November. It was stated at the press conference that one million people put their signatures in the campaign as of October 31 in the course of the energetic activities of the headquarters.
    The press release read out there branded FTA as an agreement of colonial slavery leaving everything of this land to the United States, declaring that members of civic and public organizations would launch into an emergency sit-down strike in Seoul and other areas.
    The sit-down strike would be started simultaneously in at least 100 cities and counties and it will followed by candlelight rallies from Nov. 15, said the release.
    And the release stated that an all-people general turnout would be staged on Nov. 22 with the participation of one million people against the maneuvers of the authorities to sign FTA.

Pioneers in Technical Modernization

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- University teachers and researchers are taking the lead in technical modernization of the national economy in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Those in College of Computer Science under Kim Il Sung University are computerizing production processes and management of different units of the national economy on a high level.
    They went to Tanchon Smeltery with a goal to develop a comprehensive automatic control system to operate the ever-changing production and technical conditions by computers and introduced it into the production process of the calcinations workshop in a short span of time.
    As the result, the quality of its products and production environment were further improved.
    Basing themselves on the success and experience, they established the computer-aided estimation and surveillance system over all the nonferrous metal production processes including electrolysis.
    Teachers and researchers in Hamhung University of Hydraulic Engineering have completed a new method of calculating dam by a 3D program in cooperation with those in Kim Chaek University of Technology.
    And they have completed the rational designs of arch-typed dam and structure of surge tank and thus made it possible to save large quantities of materials and carry out projects ahead of schedule.
    Teachers and researchers in Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering have made a contribution to extending the serviceable life of equipment and increasing production by succeeding in the research which is very important in the production of casting.
    Those in Pyongyang University of Agriculture, Wonsan University of Agriculture and other universities have bred high-yielding crops suitable to the local actual conditions and applied them to practice.

Important Work for Development of Revolutionary Literature and Art

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung published the immortal classic work "On Creating Revolutionary Literature and Art" on Nov. 7, Juche 53 (1964). It is a historic work which marked an epochal turn in the development of literature and art in the DPRK. In his work he clarifies the thematic direction in creating revolutionary literary and art works.
    It has thus developed the literature and art in the DPRK to be revolutionary and militant ones reflecting the spirit of the times and the aspiration and requirement of the popular masses.
    Kim Jong Il, who is true to the ideas and intention of the President, has wisely led the activities of creating more literary and art works based on varied themes for the purpose of energetically inspiring the popular masses to the revolution and construction.
    Under his meticulous guidance, the feature film "The Path to Awakening" was produced as the first masterpiece. The film truthfully depicts the anti-U.S. struggle of the south Korean student youth and people.
    Feature films of high ideological and artistic value saw the light in the filmdom during the period from 1964 to 1967. Among them are "The Story of a Detachment Commander" showing young men and women who grow up as revolutionaries in the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and "The Family of Choe Hak Sin" which is conducive to implanting the anti-U.S. spirit in the minds of the working people and school children and youth.
    In recent years lots of revolutionary literary and art works have been created. In particular, the multi-part film "The Nation and Destiny" and the mass gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" are lauded as extravaganza.

Japan's Dangerous Design for Overseas Expansion Blasted

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- The new Japanese chief executive, addressing a recent meeting of the House of Councilors of the Japanese Diet, asserted that the existing constitution was adopted according to a coercive intention of the occupation forces without getting the agreement of the people and it was necessary, therefore, to adopt a new constitution agreed upon by the people. Minju Joson Tuesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:
    Lurking behind the reckless remarks of the new chief executive of Japan which regards militaristic overseas expansion as the task of its policy is a very dangerous aim that should never be overlooked.
    His assertion about "people's agreement" is nothing but sophism intended to increase his political clout and cover up Japan's criminal intention to rush headlong into militaristic overseas expansion.
    By revising the "pacifist constitution" the Japanese reactionaries seek to legalize its right to carry out a war and extend the sphere of its exercise to an unlimited extent in a bid to lay a legal groundwork for overseas militaristic invasion.
    Japan's continued extension of the validity of the "law on special measures against terrorism" in recent years is aimed to justify the overseas military activities of the "Self-Defence Forces" (SDF) under pretext of "combating terrorism".
    As if it were not enough with this, Japan is contemplating the enaction of a "permanent law" which calls for allowing overseas military activities of the "SDF" on a permanent basis and, furthermore, the inclusion of this in the constitution.
    What merits a more serious attention is that Japan is frantically pushing forward its moves for overseas militaristic expansion in the direction of turning itself into a military power now that a legal foundation has been laid for the expansion.
    Japan's above-said moves deserve a stern punishment by the international community and should be checked without fail.
    The Japanese reactionaries had better stop running riot, cogitating about what a miserable end Japan will meet while trying to emerge a war state once again, the commentary warns.

Seminar on Peace in Northeast Asia Held

    Tokyo, November 5 (KNS-KCNA) -- A seminar on the theme of "Role of south Korea and Japan for Peace in Northeast Asia" was held at the Japan Press Center in Tokyo on Oct. 28 under the sponsorship of the Society for Commemorating the Movement for Democracy in south Korea. Present there were Koreans in Japan, south Koreans and Japanese citizens.
    Speeches were made by Korean scholars in Japan and south Korean and Japanese scholars.
    They proved that it is important for ensuring peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula to peacefully solve the nuclear issue by bringing down the Cold War system still left in Northeast Asia.
    Referring to the fact that Japan is veering faster to the militarist Right and tightening its military nexus with the U.S., they urged Japan to fulfill its responsibility for putting an end to visits to the "Yasukuni Shrine," settling the problem of Korean residents in Japan and the issue of liquidating its past.

Anniversary of Joson University Marked

    Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- A meeting commemorating the 50th anniversary of Joson University was held on Nov. 4, according to the Korean News Service in Tokyo. The meeting was attended by So Man Sul, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Ho Jong Man, its chief vice-chairman, the vice-chairmen and others.
    Jang Pyong Thae, president of the university, in his report said the foundation of the University on April 10, Juche 45 (1956) was a historic event that proclaimed to the world the birth of Juche-oriented overseas Koreans' university unprecedented in the world history of education.
    He said the university has performed brilliant exploits in the history of overseas Koreans education thanks to the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and patriotic loyalty of Koreans in Japan for the past half a century. He set forth tasks to develop the university work onto a higher stage as required by the new century.
    Degrees of professorship and assistant professorship of the DPRK were awarded at the meeting.
    A letter to Kim Jong Il was adopted there.
    The letter noted that the university could tide over rough tempests in an alien land and foil all manner of suppressive acts of the reactionaries within and without, thus firmly defending its dignity as the only overseas university of the DPRK and demonstrating its imposing sight as the highest academic course of democratic national education and the seat of scientific studies to the world under the outstanding leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and deep loving care shown by them.
    Over the past five decades since its foundation the university has trained a large number of native cadres and patriotic personnel of Chongryon to give succession to the movement of Koreans in Japan and made an honorable contribution to the development of Chongryon and the overseas Koreans' community under the uplifted banner of Juche despite a grim situation.
    In the letter the participants in the meeting expressed their resolution to firmly build up the university into a seat of scientific studies and a base of training experts, make an active contribution to the reunification cause and the building of a great prosperous powerful nation in homeland and of a powerful community of Koreans, harmonious and affluent, in Japan.
    An art performance "Five decades of glory under the loving care of the homeland" was given by teachers, students and graduates of the university.
    A meeting to open a new library of the university was also held on the same day.

    Los obreros y otros sectores de la poblacion de la ciudad de Wonsan construyeron excelentemente en un corto espacio de tiempo esta granja ganadera de gran tamano. Rodong Sinmun demanda disolucion de comandancia Sudcorea-EE.UU.

    Pyongyang, 7 de noviembre (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun difundio este martes un comentario individual con respecto al 28o aniversario de la organizacion de la "comandancia de las fuerzas conjuntas" surcoreano-norteamericanas. Desde que nacio el 7 de noviembre de 1978, segun la estrategia de EE.UU. sobre Corea, esa entidad ha sido el aparato principal para implantar la dominacion militar sobre el territorio surcoreano y acelerar los preparativos para la guerra contra el Norte de Corea, recuerda el comentarista y prosigue:
    Ya que dentro y fuera del pais resuenan voces demandando la disolucion de esa "comandancia", circula ahora un rumor sobre el particular que floto a consecuencia del problema de la "transferencia del mando operacional en tiempos de guerra" entre EE.UU. y el Sur de Corea.
    Si bien los imperialistas norteamericanos disimulan traspasar al ejercito surcoreano el citado "mando operacional" y desarticular ese aparato de agresion, esto no significa que ellos quieren dejar de ocupar al Sur de Corea y controlar a las tropas de este ni mucho menos de maniobrar para la guerra contra el Norte de Corea. Al contrario, estas acciones parten del astuto intento del imperio de alcanzar facilmente esos objetivos.
    De hecho, con motivo del "traspaso del mando operacional" EE.UU. plantea instituir una nueva "direccion de colaboracion en las operaciones en tiempos de guerra y paz", que ejercera todas las funciones de la "comandancia" en cuestion.
    Esto quiere decir que EE.UU. pretende ponerse otra vestimenta al igual que en el pasado se disfrazaba segun sus necesidades de la "comandancia de las fuerzas de la ONU", la de "fuerzas norteamericanas" y la de "fuerzas conjuntas" surcoreano-norteamericanas.
    Todos los hechos demuestran que mientras las tropas agresoras norteamericanas siguen anidadas en el Sur de Corea y persiste la politica hostil de EE.UU. a la RPDC, el supuesto traspaso y la disolucion de esa entidad no pasan de ser unas jugadas inutiles y enganosas.
    Cuando EE.UU. ponga fin a la ocupacion del Sur de Corea y a su politica agresiva a la RPDC, sera posible desarticular de raices la "comandancia" en cuestion que es un connotado aparato de dominacion militar y rapina.

EE.UU. es causante de la guerra nuclear, califica Rodong Sinmun

    Pyongyang, 7 de noviembre (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun inserto en su edicion de este martes un comentario individual rechazando el plan llamado "Complex 2030" de Estados Unidos consistente en construir un nuevo arsenal de armas nucleares. 　Esto es una prueba evidente de que el imperio da acicate al fortalecimiento de las armas nucleares modernas cifrando gran esperanza en estas en el cumplimiento de su estrategia de hegemonia mundial, revela el comentarista y prosigue:
    　Dicho plan es el reflejo de la politica de la administracion Bush de dar importancia a los artefactos nucleares y tiene su origen en la bestial, bandidesca y agresiva naturaleza de EE.UU. que no vacilara en usar hasta las armas de este tipo para alcanzar sus objetivos dominacionistas y de saqueo.
    　En el siglo pasado, los imperialistas norteamericanos ejecutaron el primer ensayo de explosion nuclear en el ambito mundial y han sido los unicos que usaron esos artefactos contra la humanidad.
    　En el nuevo siglo se torna mas abierto el intento del imperio de desatar una guerra nuclear. La administracion Bush presento la estrategia de ataque preventivo nuclear como el fundamento de la "estrategia de seguridad nacional" del siglo XXI y maniobra enloquecidamente para ejecutarla.
    　En particular, EE.UU. no deja de desplegar los ejercicios de guerra nuclear de toda indole contra la RPDC movilizando a las fuerzas del Sur de Corea y otras satelites, lo cual agudiza al extremo la situacion de la Peninsula Coreana. No obstante, trata de justificarse inutilmente mintiendo que esos ejercicios son para la "seguridad" y la "paz".
    　Por cierto, los yanquis son los causantes del peligro de guerra nuclear en este planeta. Mientras EE.UU acicatea sus preparativos para la guerra nuclear desoyendo la demanda sobre el desarme de artefactos nucleares. En tal circunstancia la humanidad vivira siempre amenazada por estos aparatos.

Minju Joson critica intento expansionista de Japon

    Pyongyang, 7 de noviembre (ATCC) -- En la reciente sesion ordinaria de la camara de consejeros de la dieta japonesa, el nuevo mandatario de este pais isleno abogo por una nueva constitucion acordada con los habitantes japoneses diciendo que la vigente fue aprobada por la presion de las tropas ocupantes sin una consulta popular. 　El periodico Minju Joson publico este martes un comentario individual revelando la peligrosa intencion del actual gobernante japones que tiene por su tarea politica el expansionismo militarista a ultramar y continua:
    　Esa teoria del "consenso del pueblo" no pasa de ser una sofisteria para ganar la popularidad politica y encubrir la maligna intencion de tomar el camino de expansion militarista a ultramar.
    　Los reaccionarios japoneses tratan de enmendar la "constitucion pacifista" para legalizar el derecho a la guerra y echar el cimiento juridico para la agresion a ultramar. 　En los ultimos anos, Japon sigue prorrogando la "ley de medidas especiales frente al terrorismo" para legalizar las actividades militares en ultramar de sus "fuerzas de autodefensa" pretextando el "antiterrorismo".
    　Como si esto fuera poco, se propone trazar una nueva ley que permita las acciones militares de caracter permanente en el extranjero y, a la larga, estipularla en la constitucion.
    　Lo peor del caso es que al paralelo de esos preparativos en sentido juridico, se llevan adelante las labores para convertirse en una potencia militar.
    　Tales maniobras deben ser detenidas sin falta y castigadas severamente por la sociedad internacional.
    　Los reaccionarios japoneses deben actuar con prudencia reflexionando de las tragicas consecuencias que emanen de su intento criminal de volverse como pais guerrero.
