DPRK Footballers Win at AFC Soccer Championship

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- The DPRK team won at the AFC Under-19 Soccer Championship held in India. The DPRK team beat the Japanese 6:4 on 11m kick in the finals on November 12.
    The Asian Football Confederation gave award for a fair play to the DPRK team and award for best player to Kim Kum Il.
    The DPRK team is qualified to participate in the World under-20 Soccer Championship to be held in Canada in 2007.

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il Introduced in U.S.

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- The U.S. Group for the Study of Songun Politics posted several articles accompanied with photos showing the revolutionary activities of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on its Internet homepage on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). An article titled "80th Anniversary of DIU" noted that the programme of the DIU indicated to the Korean people the way of independent development, the path of the Korean revolution.
    At the end of the last century, Kim Jong Il made a breakthrough towards the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation, resolutely standing against the pressure of the imperialist allied forces under the uplifted banner of Songun held high by the DIU, it stressed.
    An article titled "Songun, Invincible Banner for Accomplishing the Cause of Independence" said that Songun serves as a powerful weapon for the Korean people in carving out their own destiny in the strong spirit of national independence, adding that they have defended socialism despite all difficulties and trials as they have held high the banner of Songun.
    An article captioned "Korean People's Faith in Socialism" noted that the Korean people are working hard with confidence that they are sure to emerge victorious as long as they are led by Kim Jong Il. Wonsan Stock Farm Inaugurated

    Wonsan, November 12 (KCNA) -- The splendid Wonsan Stock Farm was completed. The combined stock farm raising goats, rabbits, pigs, ducks and geese will supply quantities of meat and milk products to working people.
    Its inaugural ceremony was held on Nov. 12.

Hanchongryon Chairman Demands Prompt Stop to Expansion of U.S. Military Base

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- Jang Song Hoe, chairman of the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon), on November 8 reportedly made public a statement titled "Stop the moves to expand the U.S. military base threatening peace of the Korean Peninsula and immediately release Chairman Kim Ji Thae". These moves to expand the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek are, to all intents and purposes, an offspring of the U.S. hostile policy towards the north and they pose a serious threat to peace on the Korean Peninsula, the statement said.
    Noting that the "Defense Ministry" threw additional barbed wire entanglements in the Phyongthaek area and the judicial authorities sentenced Kim Ji Thae to penal servitude, it went on: This is nothing but a despicable act to break the fighting spirit of the inhabitants and civic and public organizations that have turned out to check the expansion of the military base.
    The "Defense Ministry" aligning itself with the U.S. in its war machinations may temporarily go ahead with the expansion of the U.S. military base by forcible means. However, it can never break the will of the patriotic people who have risen up in the fight to defend peace on the Korean Peninsula, but will invite fiercer wrath and an all-people struggle.

Anti-U.S., Anti-War Slogans Issued in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration reportedly issued slogans calling upon all the people to turn out in the anti-U.S., anti-war struggle on Nov. 9. The slogans noted that the Korean Peninsula is in the grip of a crisis due to the U.S. war threat and economic plunder and if this U.S. policy of domination is tolerated, it will bring irrevocable disasters to the Korean nation.
    The slogans appealed to one million of people to turn out in the anti-U.S., anti-war struggle in order to decisively smash the U.S. war moves, check the conclusion of the "south Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement" inviting a national ruin and build a new society where the people have become a master.
    They also urged the U.S. to immediately lift the groundless sanctions against the DPRK and abandon the policy of war against it.
    They called upon all Koreans to pool their efforts for driving out foreign forces and achieving peace and co-prosperity.

Japan's Hostile Policy toward DPRK Assailed

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- There emerged a new government in Japan but its deplorable position as a servant of the U.S. and its political waiting maid can never change. This is a tragedy of Japan which it can never escape as long as it is in the pocket of its American master, observes Rodong Sinmun Monday in a signed commentary. Japan is describing the application of the "financial sanctions" against the DPRK as "efforts" for what it called "dialogue" and has become more vociferous about "the abduction issue" while intensifying its suppression of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan since the emergence of the new Cabinet, the commentary notes, and goes on:
    The Abe Cabinet's desperate hostile moves against the DPRK are nothing but despicable acts that can be perpetrated only by political charlatans loyal to the Uncle Sam. The Japanese militarists seized by the ambition for reinvasion are zealously cooperating with the U.S. in its moves to provoke a new Korean war and going crazy to please it.
    In a word, the new Japanese government has taken only actions to bedevil the DPRK-Japan relations since its emergence. The desperate political provocations made by Japan against the DPRK to seriously infringe upon its sovereignty and dignity have touched off indignation among the Korean people. The Korean people accurately keep on record not only the crimes Japan committed in the past but those crimes being perpetrated by it at present. Growing stronger are the Korean people's resolution and will to force Japan to pay for all those crimes without fail.
    It is foolhardy of Japan to eye a responsible post at the UN. No country will trust Japan as it is going reckless, just copying the behavior of its American master, still not free from the bad practice of kowtowing to the U.S. and toeing its line.

GNP's Ruckus of Confrontation with North under Fire

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- The group of the "Grand National Party" of south Korea blustered that "sanctions against the north should be escalated" and "the south should show a resolute will" as part of their smear campaign against the north over its deterrent for self-defense. They went the lengths of letting loose vituperations that they should do the north serious disservice, while finding fault even with its social system without hesitation. Commenting on this, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun Monday says:
    The GNP gentry is a group of traitors utterly indifferent to the fellow countrymen and the destiny of the nation.
    The war deterrent of the DPRK built under the great banner of Songun is, to all intents and purposes, to cope with the U.S. imperialists' moves to launch a nuclear war and invade the DPRK as it is a shield for just self-defense. It is also meant to protect south Korea, too, with warm compatriotism.
    The GNP group is raising a hue and cry over the war deterrent of the north which protects them, too, while uttering no bad word about the nukes of the U.S. which threaten the nation. As if it were not enough with this, they are crying out for sanctions and calling for not ruling out even a war. This is nothing but a silly intention to respond to good will with evil one.
    These traitors are desperately insisting on suspending the tour of Mt. Kumgang and the project of the Kaesong industrial zone, icons of undertakings for national reconciliation and cooperation. They had better bear in mind who wished for them and who benefit from them before wagging their thin tongues.
    The above-said behavior of the GNP teaches a lesson that this group of quislings hell-bent on confrontation with fellow countrymen and acts of treachery should be thrown overboard in order to frustrate the U.S. imperialists' moves for a war and achieve peace of the country and national reunification.

Fair Solution to Mideast Issue Called for

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- The issue of Palestine and other Mideast issues should be fairly settled as required by the resolutions repeatedly adopted at the UN General Assembly sessions for several decades and international law on the basis of the agreement reached among member states under any circumstances. A DPRK representative clarified this stand during the discussion held on Nov. 8 on the "report of the Ad Hoc Committee for probing Israel's acts affecting the rights of the Palestinians in the occupied areas and other Arabs, " an agenda item of the meeting of the fourth Committee of the 61st UN General Assembly. The struggle of the Palestinians is a just struggle for recovering the usurped territories and winning back the right to national self-determination and vital right and the issue of Palestine is a regional and international matter directly linked with the issue of ensuring the Mideast peace, he noted, and went on to say:
    A number of international measures have been taken to find a fair and peaceful settlement of the issue of Palestine and other Mideast issues but they have not been successfully implemented due to the expansionist policy and obstructions of the occupation forces.
    What merits a more serious attention is that some forces are moving to delete items related to the Mideast from the agenda of the UN General Assembly as part of what they call UN reform in order to achieve their sinister aim to settle the above-said issues in their interests.
    This is unjustifiable as it is in contravention of the common desire of the international community to find a solution to the issues in the interests of the Palestinians and other Arabs.
    He reiterated the DPRK's firm solidarity with the Palestinians in their just struggle to win back their legitimate national rights and other Arab people in their efforts to find a fair solution to the Mideast issues.

New Casting Bonding and Heat Treatment Hardening Agent Developed

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- University of Science in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has succeeded in developing a new kind of casting bonding and heat treatment hardening agent. The existing bonding and hardening agent is a chemical one, which is harmful to health. Its production cost is also high.
    But the newly developed agent is not made by chemical industrial method. Its production process is also simple and it is not detrimental to health in its production and use.
    The new one can be used as bonding and smearing agent in casting and hardening agent in heat treatment.
    It has a good fluidity and its density is changeable so as to freely adjust the cooling speed. Its application makes it possible to minimize variation and enhance hardness during quenching metal products. It, therefore, considerably improves the mechanical character of products.
    When products are smeared with it, it prevents the oxidization and reduces chemical heat treatment process. It also raises the quality of processed metal goods such as gilding and elongation.

Central Zoo under Reconstruction

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- The Central Zoo at the foot of Mt. Taesong in Pyongyang, the DPRK, is being refurbished. The projects are being conducted in the direction of providing better living conditions to the animals to suit their physiological characteristics and of ensuring the best conveniences to the visitors.
    The reconstruction of elephant, giraffe, chimpanzee and many other animal cages is being vigorously carried on.
    The new cages will be furnished with facilities to ensure temperature and ventilation in winter.
    Water project is also under way.
    Ju Kum Chol, a section chief of the zoo, told KCNA that people would soon enjoy a good holiday in the renovated zoo.

U.S. Termed Chief Nuclear Criminal

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- South Korea has turned into the biggest nuclear outpost in the Far East with stockpiles of more than 1,000 U.S. nuclear weapons of different types including A-bombs, nuclear shells and warheads, nuclear mines, backpack nukes and Neutron bombs and their delivery means. This fact clearly proves that the U.S. is chiefly to blame for having posed the threat of a nuclear war to the Korean Peninsula. A spokesman for the Korean National Peace Committee declared this in a statement released on Nov. 13, 20 years since the U.S. announced that it would deploy in south Korea "Lance" missiles capable of carrying neutron bombs.
    The statement said:
    It was none other than the U.S. that introduced nukes into south Korea for the first time and turned it into a nuclear arsenal and a nuclear outpost.
    It has barred the denuclearization of the peninsula and put the Korean nation in the constant danger of a nuclear war.
    It is quite preposterous for the U.S. to take issue with the DPRK over its nuclear deterrent for just self-defence, while keeping mum about the criminal nuclear arms build-up it has perpetrated for years.
    The U.S. is contemplating shipping into south Korea not only tactical nuclear weapons but strategic nuclear weapons in case of contingency on the Korean Peninsula, more frantically stepping up its moves for a nuclear war under the pretext of the DPRK's possession of nuclear deterrent. This patently proves that the U.S. nuclear ambition not only remains unchanged but poses an increasing danger.
    All Koreans should turn out in the struggle to frustrate the U.S. moves to stifle the DPRK and launch a nuclear war and stage fierce anti-U.S. resistance in different parts of the country.
    The U.S. should drop its foolish aim to bring the Korean people to their knees and withdraw its forces and all its nuclear war equipment from south Korea without delay.

Reception Given on 50th Anniversary of Joson University

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- A reception was given at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Tokyo on Nov. 10 in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Joson University of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon). Present at the reception were Chairman So Man Sul and Chief Vice-Chairman Ho Jong Man of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon and others.
    Also present there were Japanese political, academic, press, social and cultural figures and more than 300 foreign university personages in Japan.
    Jang Pyong Thae, rector of Joson University, in his speech noted that the educational aid fund and stipends remitted by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in 152 installments were life-giving water for development of the university and the democratic national education of Chongryon.
    Joson University has established the regular university educational system for half a century and steadily developed into a university of overseas compatriots which is making leaping progress in the 21st century, both in name and reality, thanks to the special loving care of Kim Jong Il and the wholehearted sincerity and support of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan, he stressed.
    The situation is now complicated, but the future of the homeland is rosy and bright, he said, adding that Joson University will in the future, too, positively contribute to the prosperity and reunification of the homeland and friendship with universities of Japan and different countries.

Kim Jong Il Provides Field Guidance to Industrial Establishments

    Pyongyang, November 13 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to the Ryongsong Machine Complex and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex. He was greeted by Hong Song Nam, chief secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Phung Gi, chairman of the South Hamgyong Provincial People's Committee, and other leading officials of the province and the complexes.
    The first leg of his guidance was the Ryongsong Machine Complex.
    He dropped in at the newly built compressor shop where he learned in detail about the construction and production and examined various types of new compressors.
    He highly appreciated the feats performed by the workers in Ryongsong intensely loyal to the Party and the revolution, saying that it is signal success that they built the compressor shop tantamount to a big plant in a matter of less than one year and manufactured various types of high-performance compressors by their own efforts and with their own technology.

Rodong Sinmun refuta alboroto de confrontacion del "GPN"

    Pyongyang, 13 de noviembre (ATCC) -- En estos dias, los compinches del "gran partido nacional" del Sur de Corea, al acusar de la fuerza disuasiva autodefensiva y el sistema de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea, hablaron de que deben "arreciar la sancion", "mostrar la conducta intransigente" e "infringirle desfavor tremendo". 　Los compinches del "GPN" son traidores serviles a las grandes potencias que no tienen en consideracion el destino de la nacion.
    Asi senala el periodico Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 13 y continua:
    El disuasivo de la RPDC preparado bajo la bandera del Songun (priorizacion militar) es el escudo de justicia para defenderse de la provocacion de guerra nuclear de Estados Unidos y conlleva el amor fraternal para proteger el Sur de Corea de estas maniobras norteamericanas.
    　Pero, los compinches del "GPN" hacen vista gorda a la amenaza nuclear de EE.UU. contra la nacion, pero censuran el disuasivo del Norte que sirve tambien para la defensa del Sur de Corea e incluso hablan de aplicar la sancion y de "cumplir sin vacilacion la guerra". Esto es un acto de tonto que trata a los benefactores como enemigos.
    Ellos demandan el cese del turismo al monte Kumgang y la construccion de la zona industrial de Kaesong que son simbolo de la reconciliacion y cooperacion de la nacion. Entonces, deben saber de quienes demandan estas labores y se benefician de estas.

    Pyongyang, 13 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Durante el debate de la agenda de la reunion del cuarto comite del 61o periodo de sesiones de la Asamblea General de la ONU, sesionada el dia 8: "Informe de la comision especial para averiguar las acciones de Israel que afectan los derechos humanos del pueblo palestino y los otros arabes en zonas ocupadas", el delegado de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea expuso la posicion de esta de que el problema palestino y los otros del Medio Oriente deben ser solucionados de manera imparcial en virtud del derecho internacional y segun las resoluciones de la Asamblea General de la ONU, aprobadas reiteradamente durante varios decenios a base del consenso de los paises miembros. 　La lucha del pueblo palestino es una justa batalla por recuperar el territorio arrebatado y el derecho a la determinacion nacional y a la vida y el problema palestino es una cuestion regional e internacional relacionada directamente con la preservacion de la paz del Medio Oriente, destaco el delegado coreano y continuo:
    　Aunque se esta tomando una serie de medidas internacionales para solucionar dichos problemas de manera imparcial y por via pacifica, tales medidas no se cumplen exitosamente por la politica expansionista y las maniobras obstructoras de las fuerzas ocupantes.
    　Lo mas grave del caso es que en estos dias, con el malsano proposito de solucionarlos a favor de si mismas, algunas fuerzas maniobran para tachar los asuntos referentes a esa region dentro de la agenda de la Asamblea General de la ONU justificandose que es un eslabon de la supuesta "reforma de la ONU".
    　Esta conducta nunca sera justificada porque contraviene a la demanda comun de la sociedad internacional, que desea solucionar el problema conforme a los intereses del pueblo palestino y los otros arabes.
    　Por ultimo, el orador ratifico la firme solidaridad con la justa lucha del pueblo palestino por recuperar los legitimos derechos nacionales y con la de los pueblos arabes por resolver imparcialmente los problemas del Medio Oriente.
