KCNA Urges U.S. to Stop Trumpeting about "Human Rights Issue"

    Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the EU and other hostile forces railroaded an anti-DPRK "resolution on human rights issue" through the meeting of the 3rd Committee of the 61st session of the UN General Assembly. The DPRK vehemently refutes this as it is nothing but a politically motivated plot based on sheer lies.
    The authors of this fraudulent document describe the misinformation provided by betrayers of the country and the nation as "truth," the stereotyped method employed by the U.S. in attacking other countries.
    The U.S. and its followers are using the same "human rights diplomacy" as done against the former Soviet Union and other socialist countries in the era of the Cold War in a bid to damage the prestige of the DPRK and bring about any "change" there.
    They are now becoming evermore vociferous about "the Helsinki process" in the former Soviet Union and Eastern European countries. The recent poor charade orchestrated by them at the UN is an extension of this propaganda.
    They should not mistake the DPRK for any other country. It is foolish for them to force it to bring about any change with the "resolution" which has neither legal validity nor plausibility.
    The U.S. turned the world into one engulfed in a war on terrorism, bringing humankind all sorts of misfortune and pain and set up prisons reminiscent of "Oswiecim Concentration Camp" in various parts of the world to perpetrate medieval torture of prisoners. The U.S. and those countries which overlook and incite those crimes are not entitled to talk about human rights issues.
    The so-called "civilized states" should feel ashamed of seeking a political aim by dancing to the tune of the U.S., ill-famed for being the world's worst human rights abuser.
    During the voting almost all developing countries and other member states of the UN voted against or abstained from voting or boycotted the session, manifesting their principled stands. This indicated that they dismissed such resolution as same ridiculous and poor document as the U.S. "annual human rights report".
    The U.S. and other hostile forces would be well advised to face up to the reality in the DPRK, awake from hallucination.

National Meeting Held to Mark Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work

    Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- A national meeting was held at the People's Palace of Culture here on Wednesday to mark the 20th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's celebrated work "Let Us Step Up the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement". The work is a letter he sent to those attending the national meeting of the vanguard of the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement on November 23, Juche 75 (1986). Present there were senior officials including Yang Hyong Sop, members of the Cabinet, officials of party and power organs, social organizations, ministries, national institutions, scientific, educational, cultural and art, public health and media institutions and working people in the city.
    Choe Yong Rim, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea and secretary general of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, made a report at the meeting.
    He said that the letter is a monumental work comprehensively dealing with the ideas and theories on the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement, a socialist mass movement involving all the people, and serves as highly important guidelines which should be always adhered to in the above-said movement. Kim Jong Il initiated the movement in Juche 64 (1975) when the Korean revolution entered a period of new historic turn under the programme of modeling the whole society on the Juche idea, the reporter noted, adding that this was a historic event of weighty significance.
    He continued:
    Since the very start of the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement, a mass movement for ideological transformation, technical innovation and cultural reeducation, the movement has gripped the hearts of the broad masses of the working people for its validity, rapidly spreading to all sectors and units of the national economy and displaying its great vitality in the practice of socialist construction.
    In order to further develop in depth this gigantic all-people movement on the basis of the achievements made for 10 years after its start Kim Jong Il convened a national meeting of the vanguard of the Three-Revolution Red Flag Movement and sent the above-said letter to its participants, providing an epochal occasion in developing the movement.
    He has given energetic guidance to the work to ensure that the movement raged all over the country to serve as a powerful engine dynamically pushing ahead with the socialist construction.
    His distinguished guidance to the movement found its expression in the fact that he developed it in depth as required by the Songun revolution in the days when the Korean revolution was undergoing most severe trials, thereby making it possible for the movement to make a great contribution to defending socialism and building a great prosperous powerful nation.
    The political and ideological power of the Korean revolution has radically increased and signal changes have been made in the socialist economic and cultural construction and the defence upbuilding under his outstanding leadership.
    Stressing the need to intensify the movement whose vitality has been fully confirmed in the practice of the Korean revolution, the reporter said:
    It is necessary to intensify the movement with main stress on the ideological revolution so that it can fully display its might as an all-people movement for training true personnel required by the Songun era, powerfully arouse the masses of people to effect a great revolutionary upswing and speed up the general march of the Songun revolution.

Meeting of Society for Promotion of Relations between Austria and DPRK Held

    Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- A meeting of the Standing Committee of the Society for the Promotion of the Relations between Austria and the DPRK was held in Vienna on Nov. 14. At the meeting Adolf Pilz, chairman of the society, called for highly praising and introducing the immortal exploits performed by the three generals of Mt. Paektu in liberating Korea and building the party, army and country on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 89th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. The meeting decided to carry in bulletins serial articles introducing the brief biography and the immortal Juche idea of President Kim Il Sung.
    The participants expressed their determination to conduct a more vigorous solidarity movement for supporting the Korean people in their efforts to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and build a great prosperous powerful nation.

GIs' Assault Perpetrated in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Soldiers of the U.S. forces in south Korea committed an assault in Seoul on Nov. 17, according to MBC of south Korea. That night two GIs severely beat taxi driver surnamed Paek in Rithaewon-dong, Ryongsan District of Seoul before running away.

Minju Joson on S. Korean Authorities' Vote for "Resolution on Human Rights in North Korea"

    Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson Wednesday in a signed commentary dismisses the south Korean authorities' vote for a UN "resolution on human rights in north Korea" raised by the U.S. as an act of following the U.S. and seeking a show-down with the fellow countrymen. We cannot but ask if the south Korean authorities really value the June 15 joint declaration and want the improvement of inter-Korean relations, the commentary says, and goes on:
    The south Korean authorities added one more crime to the crimes they have already committed against the nation by joining the U.S. in its human rights racket against the DPRK. This proves that they talk about "independence" but act under the U.S. pulls and pressure and put more importance to the outside forces than to the fellow countrymen.
    Their action has laid a new obstacle in the way of improved inter-Korean relations, which casts doubt on the need to have a dialogue with them.
    If they continue toeing the American line against the nation and reunification and taking the road of confrontation with the fellow countrymen, they would not be pardoned by the nation.

Israel's Use of Cluster Bombs Branded as Serious Human Rights Abuse

    Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- Israel's use of cluster bombs during its invasion of Lebanon in summer was monstrous massacre and criminal human rights abuse which the U.S. imperialists committed by manipulating its agent, says Rodong Sinmun Wednesday. It is none other than the U.S. imperialists and the Israeli aggressors who have crudely violated the human rights and inflicted shocking misfortunes, disasters and pains upon the people worldwide, the analyst notes, and goes on:
    They are clean indifferent to the observance of international law and respect of human rights when it comes to attaining their purpose of aggression and pillage, though they are fond of paying lip-service to "respect of human rights" and "freedom."
    The U.S. imperialists know well that the use of cluster bombs is banned internationally. However, they massively used them themselves and, seeking to execute their criminal Mid-east strategy without much difficulty through Israel, transferred them to it to be used against civilians at random, thus bringing miserable calamities.
    Human rights abuses can never be overlooked. The U.S. imperialists and Israel must be brought to the international human rights court and sternly punished.

Ultra-anthracite Used Widely in DPRK

    Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) -- The DPRK is purposefully enlarging the range of applying ultra-anthracite. The Branch Academy of Coal Science under the State Academy of Sciences has developed plant growth accelerant with ultra-anthracite and introduced it into different co-op farms, proving successful.
    It also found out the way for maximizing the thermal efficiency of the ultra-anthracite and invented a cement production technology with it as raw material.
    The branch academy designed and manufactured a crusher for ultra-anthracite boiler, thus making it possible to lower consumption of electricity and to raise the efficiency of the boiler as compared with existing ones.

Sea Cucumber Cultivated in DPRK

    Pyongyang, November 22 (KCNA) --Mari-culture companies on the east and west coasts of the DPRK have arranged offshore farms where they are breeding sea cucumber fries. The cultivation of sea cucumbers on the offshore farms needs less fodder consumption while raising the productivity, with the result that the production cost can be reduced considerably.
    It is also economically profitable as the sea cucumbers are bred at the bottom of the kelp farms.
    Sea cucumbers can be gathered two-three years after they are released on the farms.

La cria de cohombros del mar en los criaderos maritimos disminuye el consumo de cebo y el costo de produccion en comparacion con el cultivo artificial, al tiempo que incrementa la productividad.
    Ademas, resulta muy economica porque se puede cultivar la laminaria en la capa superior de criaderos y las criaturas de holoturia en la parte inferior.
    Las holoturiecitas se cosechan 2 o 3 anos despues de criadas.

Rodong Sinmun condena a EE.UU. e Israel por su violacion a DDHH

    Pyongyang, 22 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Durante el periodo de invasion al Libano en verano pasado Israel uso la bomba de racimo. Esto es un crimen de violacion a derechos humanos que Estados Unidos perpetro por conducto de su comisionado. Asi insiste el periodico Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 22 y continua:
    Son los imperialistas norteamericanos y los agresores israelies los criminales que violan despiadadamente los derechos humanos y acarrean desgracias, calamidades y penalidades a los pueblos. Ellos hablan mucho del "respeto a DDHH" y la "libertad", pero ignoran el derecho internacional y los derechos humanos para lograr su finalidad agresiva y saqueadora.
    A fin de lograr facilmente su estrategia criminal con respecto al Medio Oriente por conducto de Israel EE.UU., a sabiendas de que internacionalmente fue prohibido el uso de la bomba de racimo, la uso en gran cantidad y la entrego a Israel para que este la usara arbitrariamente contra los civiles.
    El acto de violacion a DDHH es intolerable.
    Hay que llevar a EE.UU. e Israel al tribunal internacional de derechos humanos para castigarlos severamente.

Minju Joson denuncia acto sutil de autoridades surcoreanas

    Pyongyang, 22 de noviembre (ATCC) -- El periodico Minju Joson, en un comentario individual de este miercoles, critica el acto bochornoso de las autoridades surcoreanas que dieron beneplacito al "proyecto de resolucion de derechos humanos contra el Norte de Corea" que Estados Unidos sometio a la votacion en la ONU. 　No podemos menos que preguntar a las autoridades surcoreanas: ?de veras aprecian la Declaracion Conjunta del 15 de Junio y desean la mejora de sus relaciones con el Norte de Corea?
    　Por el respecto el comentario prosigue:
    　Las autoridades surcoreanas abultaron sus crimenes de hasta ahora al incorporarse esta vez a la campana norteamericana de "DDHH" contra la RPDC. Ellas pretenden abogar por la "independencia", pero de hecho, bailan al son que le toca EE.UU. y anteponen los intereses de las fuerzas foraneas a los de sus coterraneos.
    　Por el acto de traicion de las autoridades surcoreanas se ha interpuesto un nuevo obstaculo en las relaciones intercoreanas, lo que nos suscita la sospecha sobre la necesidad de compartir la mesa con quienes que anteponen los intereses de las fuerzas extranjeras a los de la nacion.
    　La nacion coreana no perdonara jamas a las autoridades surcoreanas que precipitan por el camino del servilismo a EE.UU. y de la confrontacion con sus coterraneos.
