It's time to Put Period to U.S. Arbitrary and High-handed Practices --KCNA Analyst--

   Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- It is the prevailing trend of the world situation that voices critical of the U.S. bellicose foreign policy and the "anti-terror war" are growing stronger worldwide. The results of the midterm Congressional election in the United States in which the Democratic Party came to dominate both houses are a proper judgement meted out to the foreign policy of the present U.S. administration.
    In the wake of the Republican defeat in the midterm election, Rumsfeld, the main player in executing the war policy of the Bush administration, was compelled to resign as secretary of Defense.
    Prior to the midterm election, U.S. media unanimously called for the ouster of Rumsfeld. This was prompted by their disillusion with the Republican forces which have pursued domestic and foreign policies of aggressive, unpopular and reactionary nature which are characterized by arbitrary and high-handed practices.
    Americans feel tied of bellicose Bush forces' anti-terror war.
    According to the opinion poll conducted by News Week throughout the country, the overwhelming majority of the respondents described the Iraqi war as a completely wrong war.
    Bush, finding himself in a weak position politically in the wake of the Republican setback in the midterm election, kicked off his untimely world trip in a bid to improve the U.S. international image. This is well illustrated by his participation in the APEC Summit and his junket to Asian countries including Indonesia. But all this went against his intention.
    . Bush suffered an unprecedented diplomatic failure in the wake of his defeat in the midterm election due to his hard-line and hostile policy towards the DPRK.
    Before and after the APEC Summit and his junket to Asian countries, protest against the U.S. foreign policy and "anti-terror war" further mounted in this region.
    Bush was so cold-shouldered in Vietnam that he could not come out of the bullet-proof car but had no option but to remain seated there. People in some ten cities in Indonesia including Jakarta strongly demanded that Bush be treated as a war criminal.
    All the facts reflect the towering indignation of the international community against the U.S. unprecedentedly high-handed and arbitrary practices and its open state terrorism, infringement upon other countries' sovereignty and human rights abuses. And they indicate that it is time to put an end to the U.S. behaviors.
    It is a historical lesson that a policy running counter to the desire of humankind is bound to meet a fiasco.

Rodong Sinmun on Anti-U.S. Struggle Gathering Force in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The anti-U.S. struggle mounting to an ever greater crescendo among the south Korean people today proceeds from the historical lesson that they cannot think of human life and dignity, to say nothing of the country's reunification and prosperity, without terminating the U.S. policy of occupation and domination which has lasted for more than 60 years, declares Rodong Sinmun Wednesday. Noting that many areas of south Korea are scenes of furious rallies, protests and general strikes against the signing of the "Free Trade Agreement" with the U.S. and sanctions and blockade against the DPRK and new war provocation moves of the U.S. imperialists that gravely threaten peace of the Korean Peninsula, the author of the article says:
    The anti-U.S. struggle of the south Korean people is a patriotic struggle of justice for defending the nation's dignity, independence and vital rights.
    It is a link in the whole chain of the righteous patriotic struggle to pave the way for independent reunification through the nation's unity and cooperation under the banner of "By our nation itself," the main spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.
    The south Korean people are waging the struggle to implement the joint declaration in close combination with the struggle against the U.S. and war, holding that the declaration is, immediately, the banner of independence against the U.S. and herein lies the peace and reunification of the country. Their intensive struggle demonstrates firm resolution and will to shatter the anti-peace, anti-reunification policy of the U.S imperialists hell bent on a war of aggression against the DPRK and permanent division of the Korean Peninsula and bring about a new society of national independence and a new day of reunification at any cost.
    The anti-U.S. struggle in south Korea is a confrontation between progress and conservatism, patriotism and treachery.
    Victory in the anti-U.S. and anti-war struggle is in store for the south Korean people fighting in close unity for peace and independent reunification.
    The anti-U.S. organizations and people of all social strata in south Korea should thwart and smash the U.S. imperialists' moves to provoke a new war and hinder the implementation of the June 15 joint declaration with united strength by tightening unity and solidarity. And they should wage more gallantly the just patriotic struggle to drive the U.S. imperialist aggression forces out of south Korea.

Seminar on Kim Jong Il's Work Held in Mexico

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- A seminar on Kim Jong Il's famous work "The Workers' Party of Korea Is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" and a film show were held by the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism on Nov. 24. Present there were Ramon Jimenez Lopez, president of the committee, and members of the committee.
    Speakers at the seminar highly praised President Kim Il Sung for successfully embodying the Juche idea in the party construction and activities and Kim Jong Il for developing the WPK into the party of the President.
    It is the immortal feat performed by Kim Jong Il in the cause of building a revolutionary party that he systemized the President's theory on the party construction, they noted.
    Recalling that the WPK has creditably fulfilled its mission and role as the staff of the revolution, they called on the progressive parties of the world to learn from the experience gained by the WPK.

Ryongchon County People's Hospital Opens

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The newly built Ryongchon County People's Hospital in North Phyongan Province of the DPRK was inaugurated on Nov. 28. The hospital having diagnosing rooms, rooms for medical treatment, sick-rooms, chambers and pharmaceutical rooms is well furnished with latest medical appliances, facilities and fixtures. The inauguration of the hospital has made it possible to more satisfactorily render services for the promotion of the health of the residents in the county and preventive and curative work for them.
    Different countries and international bodies gave sincere assistance in the construction of the hospital.
    Choe Chang Sik, minister of Public Health, was among those present at the inaugural ceremony.
    Kim Ryon Song, chairman of the Ryongchon County People's Committee, in his inaugural speech recalled that Kim Jong Il took every possible measure to stabilize the living of the residents of the county who suffered from an accident, ensure that a helicopter was flown to bring the serious cases to the capital city and showed deep care and warm solicitude for the construction of the hospital.
    He called upon the officials and employees of the hospital to bring about a new turn in preventive and curative work and thus give full play to the advantages of the socialist medical system in the DPRK.

Reception Given in Honor of Woman Boxers

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Cabinet on Tuesday hosted a reception in honor of the woman boxers who proved successful in the 4th World Woman Boxing Championship. Present there were Kwak Pom Gi, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Rim Kyong Man, minister of Foreign Trade who is chairman of the Korean Boxing Association, Jong In Chol, vice-chairman of the Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, and officials in the sports field together with the woman boxers who participated in the championship.
    Kwak Pom Gi in a speech said that the victory of the DPRK boxers in the world woman boxing championship greatly encouraged the army and people in speeding up the building of a great prosperous powerful nation under the banner of great Songun. He called upon the sportsmen and sportswomen to give a good account of themselves at international tournaments to fly the flag of the DPRK in the sky of the world.
    Woman boxer Ri Jong Hyang said in reply that they would train themselves more energetically to demonstrate the honor of sportswomen of Songun Korea.

Minju Joson on Base Act of Japan

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- Some time ago, the International Organization of Migration (IOM) announced that Germany would finish its payment of compensation to 119,000 survivors from forced labor and slave labor by the end of this year. The payment has been pushed forward from 2000. In this regard, Minju Joson Wednesday runs a signed commentary.
    Japan should have made up its mind to liquidate its past earlier than Germany, the commentary says, and goes on:
    Japan has not yet made a bold decision to compensate for its inhumane crimes till Germany finishes its liquidation of the past crimes. Far from making compensation, Japan has not even admitted them.
    This clearly shows the narrow-minded view of Japan.
    Japan seemed very "brave" when it committed such hideous crimes against humanity as unimaginable crimes related to "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army. However, it is so coward in handling the issue of settling its past crimes.
    Japan looks so shabby when compared with what Germany has done so far. Nevertheless, Japan is ridiculously coveting a responsible post at the UNSC. Such an act can be done only by a political dwarf.
    Japan should clearly know this. Germany is by no means inferior to Japan when it has begun redressing its past.
    With such narrow-mindedness Japan can hardly become full-fledged member of the international community.
    This means that unless Japan makes up its mind it will be isolated from the international community.
    Japan would be well advised to have a right choice.

U.S. Veto on Anti-Israel Resolution under Fire

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- A resolution denouncing the massacre committed by Israel against Palestinian civilians was turned down at the UNSC due to the U.S. exercise of veto. This is an undisguised act of supporting and defending Israel's brutal killings and an application of unfair double standards in dealing with the human rights issue. Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes this in a signed commentary. This once again fully disclosed the despicable nature of the U.S. as the worst human rights abuser, the commentary says, and goes on:
    The U.S. behavior indicates that though the U.S. claims it stands for the peace and stability in the Middle East it, in actuality, has only encouraged Israel in the moves to expand its territory and abuse the rights of the Arab people, while aggravating the situation in the Mideast and seeking its despicable strategic interests.
    The people in the region are responsible for the settlement of the Mideast issue. The justifiable efforts of the Arab countries to find a fair and comprehensive solution to the Mideast issue are supported by the international community.
    Israel should immediately stop its military strikes at Palestine and massacre of civilians and withdraw its aggressor armed forces from all the occupied Arab territories as early as possible as unanimously demanded by the international community.
    The U.S. should halt defending and encouraging Israel in its criminal acts against the Arab world including Palestine.

Suppression of People's Struggle in S. Korea Denounced

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The deputy spokesman for the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea reportedly made public a commentary on Nov. 24 denouncing the "government" for its crackdown upon the participants in the Nov. 22 general turnout of people. The "government" took the stand of "no leniency and compromise" with the participants in the general turnout, having no measure for dissolving its conflict with the people over the conclusion of the south Korea-U.S. "Free Trade Agreement," the commentary said, adding:
    Still more preposterous is the threat of some ministers to "take a strict measure" against the people demanding dialogue with the authorities.
    This stance of the "government" means violence and arrogance toward the people, noted the commentary.

Open Questionnaire to GNP

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- The Information Department of the Central Committee of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front published an open questionnaire to the Grand National Party of south Korea on Nov. 27, according to the Internet site of Kuguk Jonson. The questionnaire says:
    Bitterly denouncing in the name of all the people the dastardly acts of the GNP in resorting to confrontation, following the lead of outsiders in disregard of the nation's dignity and security and the country's peace and reunification, the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front publishes the following open questionnaire:
    Aren't its outcries over "threat from the north" a veil to conceal the threat of the United States to invade the north?
    Isn't its advertisement of "unrest of security" over the north's war deterrent for self-defense aimed at inciting hostile feelings against the north by stimulating the psychology of the people?
    Isn't its call for an overall discontinuation of dialogue and cooperation with the north intended to reduce the June 15 joint declaration to a dead letter and drive the inter-Korean relations to a total catastrophe?

Just Cause of Palestinian People Supported

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- Minju Joson Wednesday dedicates an article to the "Day of International Solidarity with the Palestinian People." It is the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to regain its usurped territory and establish an independent state and it is a just and sacred cause to struggle for them, the article notes, and goes on: On this occasion the Korean people extend firm solidarity to the Palestinian people in their positive struggle to take back the territories usurped by the Israeli aggressors and set up a fully legitimate independent state.
    The Palestinian people expressed their unshakable will not to cease their struggle till they have regained all the occupied territories including the West Bank and Kuds and established the Palestinian independent state, while rejecting and denouncing the anti-Palestine moves of the U.S. imperialists and Israel.
    The Korean people positively support the Palestinian people in their just cause of winning their national rights and establishing an independent state and bitterly condemn the anti-Palestine moves of Israel.
    They will as always stand by the Palestinian people and fully support their just cause.

Foodstuff Production Bases Renovated

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- A work for improving the dietary life of the people has been positively pushed ahead with in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Scores of essential foodstuff production bases have been renovated on an expansion basis in recent years.
    Ho Thae Gwon, vice-minister of the Light Industry, told KCNA that the reconstruction project has been carried out by the method of setting model units and generalizing their experiences and thus many successes made in this work.
    Each province has built essential foodstuff production factories to meet the demand of its people in conformity with its actual conditions with main emphasis laid on the reconstruction of light industrial factories in close contact with the Ministry of Light Industry.
    Some time ago, a large essential foodstuff factory was built in Paechon County, South Hwanghae Province. It produces various kinds of foodstuffs by making use of hot-spring water, not relying on coal.
    A technical innovation emulation has been held among essential foodstuff factories throughout the country under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the Korean General Federation of Science and Technology this year.

Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Women's Company

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected a Three-Revolution Red Flag women's company of KPA Unit 1174 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th regiment. He watched soldiers' training after acquainting himself with the company's performance of duty.

    Pyongyang, November 29 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected KPA Unit 1324. He saw the records showing the victorious and proud path covered by the unit.
    He highly appreciated the exploits performed by the unit, noting that it is the unit of merits as it fully demonstrated the heroic stamina of the KPA in the defence of the country and the socialist construction.

Rodong Sinmun denuncia abierto amparo de EE.UU. a Israel

    Pyongyang, 29 de noviembre (ATCC) -- En una sesion del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU se desaprobo por el ejercicio de derecho de veto de Estados Unidos el proyecto de resolucion de denuncia a la matanza de Israel sobre los civiles palestinos. Esto es un abierto respaldo a la barbara matanza de este pais y la aplicacion de la injusta norma de doble rasero en el problema de derechos humanos. De esta manera se revelo otra vez la sucia naturaleza de EE.UU. como archiviolador de DDHH.
    Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 29 y continua:
    Tal proceder de EE.UU. demuestra que habla mucho de la paz y estabilidad de la region del Medio Oriente, pero, ampara la expansion territorial de Israel y la violacion a derechos humanos de los pueblos arabes, exacerba la situacion de la region del Medio Oriente y persigue solo los malsanos intereses estrategicos.
    El problema del Medio Oriente lo deben solucionar los mismos pueblos de esta region. Los esfuerzos de los paises arabes por la solucion imparcial y comprensiva del problema del Medio Oriente son justos y disfrutan del apoyo de la sociedad internacional.
    Segun la unanime demanda de la sociedad internacional Israel debe poner inmediatamente fin a su ataque militar y homicidio contra Palestina y retirar cuanto antes sus fuerzas armadas invasoras de todas las tierras arabes ocupadas.
    EE.UU. debe abstenerse de los actos de respaldo e instigacion a las criminales maniobras de Israel contra el mundo arabe incluyendo Palestina.

Minju Joson critica proceder maligno de Japon

    Pyongyang, 29 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Recientemente, la Organizacion Internacional de Migracion dio a conocer que Alemania terminara hasta finales de este ano el pago de indemnizacion para 119 mil sobrevivientes sometidos antes al trabajo forzoso y esclavo que venia ofreciendo desde 2000. Pero, Japon, que debia ser el primero en tomar tal decision, no da indicio hasta la fecha de indemnizar y reconocer sus actos antieticos cometidos en el pasado.

    Japon se comporta cobardemente en la etapa de liquidar sus crimenes aunque "se mostraba tan valiente al cometer los de categoria especial como el de las "consoladoras para militares japoneses" sin precedentes en la historia.
    Es muy miserable la conducta de este pais isleno si se la compara con la de Alemania.
    Siendo tan mezquino este pais asiatico codicia la membresia del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU.
    Es un acto propio del enano politico.

Hospital Popular del Distrito de Ryongchon

    Ryongchon, 29 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Quedo inaugurado el dia 28 el Hospital Popular del distrito de Ryongchon de la provincia de Phyong-an del Norte. 　Este centro sanitario tiene las salas de consulta medica, de hospitalizacion, de doctores, de elaboracion de medicamentos, etc., dotadas de las instalaciones y aparatos medicos de punta y muebles. Servira al fomento de la salud de los habitantes locales, a la curacion y prevencion de enfermedades. 　Varios paises y organizaciones internacionales dieron sincera ayuda a la construccion del hospital.

    Pyongyang, 29 de noviembre (ATCC) -- Se elevan las voces de denuncia a la belicosa politica exterior y la "guerra antiterrorista" de Estados Unidos en el ambito mundial. Esto es la tendencia general de la reciente situacion internacional. Como resultado de elecciones intermedias parlamentarias en EE.UU. el partido democratico se apodero del senado y la camara de representantes y de esta manera se puso fin a la epoca predominante del partido republicano. Esto es una evidente evaluacion de la politica exterior de la actual administracion norteamericana.
    Despues de la derrota de las elecciones intermedias, Rumsfeld, que presidia la politica de guerra de la administracion Bush, fue destituido del cargo de secretario de Defensa.
    En visperas de las elecciones intermedias los medios de prensa norteamericanos emitieron colectivamente un llamamiento demandando la destitucion de Rumsfeld. Esto significa una desilusion a las fuerzas del partido republicano que son ejecutores de la politica interna y externa agresiva anti-popular y reaccionaria caracterizada de la coercion y arbitrariedad.
    Hoy en dia los mismos norteamericanos sienten repugnancia por la "guerra antiterrorista" de la banda belica de Bush.
    Segun una encuesta realizada en el ambito nacional por la revista norteamericana "News Week" la mayoria de la repuesta califico de error la guerra iraqui.
    El presidente Bush, que se encuentra en una situacion politica desfavorable en el pais debido al resultado de las elecciones intermedias, trato de mejorar la imagen internacional de EE.UU. al realizar a destiempo un recorrido por Indonesia y otros paises asiaticos y al participar en la cumbre de APEC.
    Pero, Bush no pudo obtener exito deseado.
    Tras su derrota en las elecciones intermedias registro otra gran derrota diplomatica por la politica persistente de hostilidad a la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea.
    Antes y despues de su participacion en la cumbre de APEC y su visita a los paises asiaticos, en esta region se elevaron las voces de repudio a la politica externa y la "guerra antiterrorista" de EE.UU.
    En Vietnam Bush tuvo que mirar por la ventanilla sin poder salir del carro blindado y en Indonesia en mas de 10 ciudades incluyendo Yakarta choco con la energica protesta de los habitantes que gritaron: "hay que tratar a Bush como criminal de guerra".
    Los hechos reflejan la vehemente indignacion de la sociedad internacional a la arbitrariedad y despotismo de EE.UU. que recrudecen en el nuevo siglo y a los abiertos actos de terror estatal, violacion a la soberania y a DDHH e insinuan que es hora de poner fin a todo esto.
    La politica contraria a la aspiracion de la humanidad no puede evitar el fracaso, lo cual es la leccion de la historia.
