Stop to Suppression of Progressive Forces Demanded in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon) reportedly made public a statement titled "We condemn the Seoul District Police Office for kicking up a public security row under the pretext of violation of the 'National Security Law' (NSL)" on Dec. 1. The statement accused the Seoul District Police Office of issuing on Nov. 20 a written summons to Jang Song Hoe, permanent vice-chairman of the South Headquarters of Pomchonghakryon, under the pretext of investigating the "case of violation of the NSL by its Chairman Yun Ki Jin.
    Recalling that the police authorities took this outrageous action against the South Headquarters of Pomchonghakryon, taking issue with its recent publication of the book "Understanding of Songun Politics," the statement termed this a move to ruthlessly stamp out the people's freedom of thinking and an anti-reunification action.
    It strongly demanded the public security authorities stop at once their suppression of the progressive forces.

Repeal of NSL Demanded in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Reunification Solidarity of south Korea reportedly issued a statement titled "Repeal anti-reunification law 'National Security Law' and dissolve the security investigation team" on Nov. 30. The statement accused the security investigation team of the Police Office of arresting to everybody's surprise Kang Sun Jong, advisor to the Reunification Solidarity, on the charge of "espionage" on Nov. 28.
    The "Intelligence Service" put in motion conservative media to paint the above-said suspicion as a "spy ring case" without confirming whether it is true or false in a bid to create an atmosphere of "witch-hunt" campaign, the statement said.
    It is a ridiculous action for the public security authorities to have arrested Kang Sun Jong at an advanced age, charging her with "espionage" by invoking the NSL, the statement noted, demanding an immediate repeal of the NSL.

Stop to Negotiation for Conclusion of FTA Demanded

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Headquarters of the All-People Movement for Checking S. Korea-U.S. "Free Trade Agreement" reportedly called a press conference in Seoul on Nov. 30 to denounce the police authorities for their indiscriminate brutal suppression of the all-people action for checking the conclusion of FTA. Referring to the fact that the police authorities resorted to violence in a bid to block the second all-people action, the organization branded such violation of human rights as an unpardonable grave crime.
    The organization demanded the "government" stop at once the negotiations for the conclusion of FTA with the U.S.
    An action program of the organization was announced at the press conference.
    Stressing that the headquarters will never step back from the struggle to defend people's right to existence despite any suppression by the police authorities, the organization declared that it would launch the third all-people action for checking the above-said negotiations on Dec. 6.

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Songun politics of the Workers' Party of Korea is the most valuable lifeline that helps defend the independent dignity and interests of the nation and guarantee the road of pioneering its destiny. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a signed article.
    The Songun politics is the patriotic politics which guarantees the sovereignty and dignity of the Korean nation, the article points out, and goes on:

Japan's Move to Grab Tok Islet under Fire

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- Four Japanese maps which had long been kept under wraps in a library of south Korea were recently disclosed to draw public attention. According to them, Tok Islet was not marked on the Japanese historical map printed on the textbook inspected and approved by the Ministry of Education in 1929 and 1933 and the new Japanese geographical map album published in 1934. The bibliography of Japanese geographical names published by the International Association of Geography in 1940 did not mention the islet as part of the Japanese territory. Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes this in a signed commentary. It goes on:
    The above-said historical and geographical facts once again prove that the Tok Islet belongs to Korea and it is a far-fetched assertion for the Japanese reactionaries to claim that the islet belongs to Japan.
    Citing the Japanese reactionaries' moves to usurp the islet, the commentary notes: A postal service company of Japan issued three times hundreds of stamps of three kinds on which "Takeshima" was written in Japanese and English below a photograph of the islet taken in the air while the Shimane Prefecture set even the "Day of Takeshima" and the Japanese government undisguisedly claimed "dominion" over the islet.
    Intolerable is Japan's claim for "dominion" over the islet now that it has been proved that the islet is part of the inviolable territory of Korea from the historical and legal point of view. It is a wanton violation of the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation that Japan persistently and impudently claims "dominion" on Tok islet instead of settling all the hideous crimes it committed against the Korean people in the past.
    The U.S. imperialists are keen to ignite another Korean war. It is against this backdrop that the Japanese militarists are working hard to stage a comeback to Korea, taking advantage of their moves. They consider their move to grab the islet as a prelude to this reinvasion.
    It is foolish of them to try to seize the islet.

Japanese Reactionaries' Flattery towards U.S. Ridiculed

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Japanese reactionaries are now kowtowing to the U.S., uttering that Japan would intercept missiles flying towards the U.S. and allow the passage of U.S. warships carrying nukes through the territorial waters of Japan. Commenting on this, Minju Joson Tuesday says: Japan has an inveterate bad habit of fishing in troubled waters by clinging to the coattail of its master.
    It is working hard to be free from the binding force of Article 9 of the Constitution. The Japanese chief executive is attempting to revise the constitution but no progress has yet been made in this respect due to the public strong opposition and pressure at home and abroad.
    It is for this reason that the Japanese reactionaries are trying to interpret and modify key points of the article.
    The Japanese reactionaries conceived the active "security cooperation" with the U.S. in a bid to attain their sinister purpose. It is the ulterior aim pursued by the Japanese reactionaries to get justification for the exercise of "the right to collective self-defense" in return for clearing the U.S. of its "security worries".

Korean Bell Reflected in Tomb Mural Painting

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The Korean bell is a precious cultural heritage that the Korean people had developed in the period of middle ages following the ancient times. It is well illustrated by the Korean bell reflected in mural tomb No. 3 in Anak County, one of the mural tombs belonging to the period of Koguryo Dynasty. The color remains unchanged even one thousand and several hundreds of years after its building.
    The mural painting depicts a king's procession with 250 characters. Seen in the middle of the procession are the two characters shouldering the bell on a pole and a character beating with two hammers.
    The bell is similar with the Tongthak bell of Kojoson (ancient Korea). The patterns decorated on the bell body are same with the fine line patterns decorated in mirror and geometric patterns of Tongthak bell in the period of the Bronze Age.
    The instrumental march musicians are following the coach of the king. The Korean bell they are carrying has a handle on the very place where there was the Tongthak hook and the striking hammers were newly made.
    This shows that the Koguryo people had developed the Tongthak, which was an ornament and one for rite, into a bell making loud metallic sound.
    It also shows that in making a metal tool, they not only pursued utility but also made efforts to reflect fine formative beauty in its shape, decoration and color.
    The Korean bell with a long history reflects the wisdom and resourcefulness of the Korean nation.

Japanese Reactionaries' Anti-Chongryon Operation under Fire

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The public security department of the Japan Police Agency conducted a fascist search operation against institutions related to the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and houses of Koreans in Japan by mobilizing hundreds of policemen on Nov. 27. They kicked off this row on the charge that a Korean woman in Japan violated the law on drug use by attempting to carry medicament with her on board Mangyongbong-92 for her health reason during her visit to the homeland in May. After arresting her in the wake of the search operation the Japanese reactionaries are now treating her as a criminal and working hard with blood-shot eyes to build up public opinion against Chongryon by faking up the sheer lie that the medicament was meant for someone's exclusive use for manufacturing biological weapons.
    This reveals once again the moral vulgarity of the Japanese reactionaries and an intolerable criminal act prompted by extreme enmity toward the DPRK and Chongryon, observes Rodong Sinmun Tuesday in a signed commentary.
    Lurking behind the smear campaign launched by the Japanese reactionaries under the pretext of "violation of the law on drug use" is a serious criminal purpose to charge Chongryon with the violation of the law and secure a pretext for suppressing and destroying it, the commentary notes, and goes on:
    The Japanese right-wing reactionaries' base mud-slinging at Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and crackdown and human rights abuses against them is an infringement upon the dignity of the DPRK and a vicious political provocation.

Kim Jong Il Inspects KPA Sub-Unit

    Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected the Twice Three-Revolution Red Flag Hero Jo Yong Ho Sub-Unit of KPA Unit 1313 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th regiment. He learned about how the sub-unit is performing its duty and conducting training.
    He praised the servicepersons of the sub-unit for standing firm guard over the defence line of the country with the noble patriotic determination to resolutely protect the socialist country with arms, fully armed with the WPK's Juche-oriented war methods through their combat and political training.
    He acquainted himself with the soldiers' service and living, going round various places of the sub-unit.
    Making the rounds of the compound of the barracks and its surroundings, an educational room, bedroom, kitchen, wash-cum-bath house, outdoor resting place, barns and different types of stores kept neat and tidy, a power station and water mill-style processing room built by the sub-unit itself in a peculiar style, he expressed satisfaction over the fact that it has built all entertainment, cultural and supply service facilities on a high level.

Recorrio el monumento a la historia de direccion sobre el terreno del Presidente Kim Il Sung y el museo de historia revolucionaria y visito las familias campesinas, entre otras, las del ex oficial Kim Kyo Son y los granjeros Choe Je Gun y O Yun Sang, donde se mostro muy satisfecho de que hayan construido viviendas modernas de varias formas, comodas a la vida de los campesinos.
    Al hacer conocimiento del estado de faenas agricolas de la granja, dijo que deben registrar un nuevo cambio en la produccion agricola a base de los exitos logrados en el pasado y acondicionar mejor las aldeas al estilo socialista y presento las tareas y medios para el particular.

Rodong Sinmun condena hostigamiento a Chongryon en Japon

    Pyongyang, 5 de diciembre (ATCC) -- El pasado 27 de noviembre, el departamento de seguridad publica de la Agencia de Policia de Japon movilizo a cientos de policias al registro forzoso de varias instituciones de la Chongryon (Asociacion General de Coreanos Residentes en Japon) y los domicilios de los coreanos. 　Precisa el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual difundido este martes y prosigue:
    　El registro fue llevado a cabo bajo el pretexto de investigar la supuesta "violacion de la ley sobre medicamentos" por parte de una coreana residente en Japon quien para visitar a la patria subio en mayo ultimo al "Mangyongbong-92" (barco que circula entre la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea y Japon) con unas medicinas necesarias al cuidado de su salud.
    Inmediatamente despues del registro, los reaccionarios japoneses arrestaron a esa coreana y la tratan ahora como a una delincuente.
    　Ademas, iniciaron una campana publicitaria anti-Chongryon tergiversando la verdad con una serie de desinformaciones tales como que esos medicamentos, que ella quiso llevarse en su viaje a la RPDC, pueden ser usados en la "fabricacion de armas biologicas" de alguien.
    Este hecho vuelve a demostrar la bajeza moral de los reaccionarios japoneses, siendo un imperdonable acto criminal que tiene su genesis en la extremada hostilidad a la RPDC y la Chongryon.
    Ademas, parte del intento criminal de procurar un pretexto para reprimir y descomponer a esa organizacion de los coreanos calificandola de una entidad que se dedica a "acciones ilegales".
    La calumnia, la represion y la violacion de derechos humanos por parte de los reaccionarios derechistas japoneses contra las organizaciones de la Chongryon y los coreanos residentes en Japon constituyen un atentado a la dignidad de la RPDC y una perversa provocacion politica a esta.
    Causa una gran indignacion de la nacion coreana la conducta malvada de los reaccionarios japoneses quienes en vez de pedir disculpa y hacer indemnizacion por sus infames crimenes cometidos en el pasado contra la nacion coreana, se enfrascan mas en las maniobras contra la Chongryon y la RPDC y recrudecen mas la represion y hostigamiento a los coreanos residentes en el pais isleno.

Rodong Sinmun denuncia acto gangsteril de Japon

    Pyongyang, 5 de diciembre (ATCC) -- Hace unos dias, se publicaron 4 partes del mapa japones que estaban guardadas durante largo tiempo en una biblioteca del Sur de Corea. Segun ello, en el mapa de historia de Japon insertado en el manual sellado por el Ministerio de Educacion de este pais en 1929 y 1933 y el album de mapas de nuevo Japon publicado en 1934 no esta anotada la isla Tok. Tampoco la guia general de nombres de lugares de Japon publicada en 1940 por la Asociacion Internacional de Geografia incluyo la isla Tok en la tierra de Japon.
    A traves de los datos geo-historicos publicados esta vez se probo otra vez que la isla Tok es la tierra de Corea y que es absurda la insistencia de los reaccionarios japoneses en la posesion de esta isla.
    Asi senala el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual del dia 5 y continua:
    La Compania de Servicio Postal de Japon emitio en 3 ocasiones centenares de sellos de tres generos con la citada isla aerofotografiada en la cual estan inscritas en japones e ingles "Takeshima", el departamento de Shimane de Japon definio el "Dia de la isla Tok" y el gobierno japones insistio abiertamente en la "posesion" de la isla Tok.
    Dado que se afirmo tanto historicamente como legalmente que la isla Tok es la tierra propia de la nacion coreana, jamas puede existir la "posesion" de esta isla de Japon. Este pais, lejos de liquidar macro-crimenes cometidos en el pasado contra el pueblo coreano, sigue insistiendo en la "posesion" de la isla Tok, lo cual es una flagrante violacion a la dignidad y la soberania de la nacion coreana.
    Los imperialistas norteamericanos actuan freneticamente para provocar una nueva guerra coreana. Por otra parte, los militaristas japoneses, en activa adhesion a tal intencion, tratan de perpetrar nueva agresion a Corea y como proceso de precedencia, intentan apoderarse de la isla Tok.
    Es estupido el que los militaristas japoneses tratan de usurpar dicha isla que es una parte inseparable de Corea.

Minju Joson critica la aduloneria de reaccionarios japoneses a EE.UU.

 Pyongyang, 5 de diciembre (ATCC) -- En estos dias, los reaccionarios japoneses adulan mas que nunca a Estados Unidos diciendo que interceptaran los misiles lanzados hacia el territorio estadounidense y permitiran el paso de buques norteamericanos cargados de armas nucleares por las aguas maritimas de Japon. 　Al respecto, el rotativo Minju Joson publico en su edicion de este martes un comentario individual que va como sigue:
    Es un vicio cronico de los reaccionarios japoneses sacar provechos adulando a su amo gringo.
    En estos tiempos, las autoridades japonesas, inclusive el propio mandatario, se esfuerzan mucho por enmendar la constitucion vigente para liberarse de las "restricciones" de su articulo 9.
    　Pero, este problema no se soluciona por el fuerte rechazo y presion del interior y el exterior del pais.
    Por eso, ellos tratan de interpretar y modificar a su manera los parrafos medulares del articulo 9.
    Para realizar su intencion, llegaron a pensar en ofrecer la "colaboracion" a EE.UU. en el tema de seguridad.
    Es decir, Japon desea legalizar el ejercicio del "derecho a la autodefensa colectiva" a cambio de disipar la "preocupacion" de EE.UU. por su seguridad nacional.
    Para llevar a la realidad su "deseo" de convertirse en el "senor de Asia" a traves de la militarizacion, los reaccionarios nipones son capaces de cualquier cosa, inclusive trabajar como lamebotas para otro pais.
    En el mundo no hay otro pais como Japon que se esfuerza desesperadamente por realizar sus objetivos injustos.
    Parece que los reaccionarios japoneses piensan que se solucionara todo si se allana el camino de la expansion militarista a ultramar. Pero resulta muy absurda esta idea.
    El ejercicio del "derecho a la autodefensa colectiva" sera un acto suicidio igual a meterse en el fuego con la gasolina.
    Ellos deben portarse bien al reflexionar de la consecuencia que emanen de sus imprudentes acciones.
