KCNA Accuses Japan of Working Hard to Evade Settlement of Its Past Crimes

    Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- Japan has put the DPRK-Japan relations to the lowest ebb by persistently working to internationalize the "abduction issue." Japanese Prime Minister Abe, addressing the government-sponsored "meeting of people thinking about the abduction issue" on Dec. 14, blustered that Japan can never normalize its relations with north Korea unless the abduction issue is settled. Foreign Minister Aso and other political heavyweights of Japan vied with each other to ask mandarins of other countries to cooperate in settling the issue. In another development, right-wing forces gathered in Tokyo and held a "photo exhibition demanding the settlement of the abduction issue" and an "international meeting for discussing the issue of abductees."
    Meanwhile, the "Headquarters for Measures for the Settlement of the Abduction issue" adopted it as a policy to conduct the work to let Japanese know about the "abduction issue" and others from 2007. To this end the government decided to ensure that broadcasting programs are produced and request broadcasting services in south Korea and Europe to air them toward the DPRK. It also decided to discuss the matter with the Ministry of Finance to include a total of 226 million yen in its additional budget for this year.
    By deliberately hyping and internationalizing the "abduction issue" which had already found its settlement the Japanese authorities seek to create the impression that "the abduction issue is the focal point in the DPRK-Japan relations in a bid to evade their responsibility to redeem the crimes committed by Japan in the past.
    Japan is chiefly to blame for abduction as it forcibly drafted at least 8.4 million young and middle aged Koreans and forced many of them to do slave labor and abducted and reduced more than 200,000 Korean women to "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army after invading Korea. These were the most hideous crimes.
    Japan should have properly reflected on and settled these crimes right after its defeat.
    It, however, has neither honestly apologized to the Korean nation for these wrongs nor expressed its intention to compensate for them.
    Explicitly speaking, Japan is an assailant while the DPRK is its victim as far as the "abduction issue" is concerned.
    Nevertheless, Japan, the world's arch abductor dares to cry out for internationalizing the "abduction issue" of somebody.
    Nothing is more foolish and wicked than this behavior of Japan as it tries hard to paint the cruel assailant as a "miserable victim" in a bid to cover up its crimes and go away without redressing them.
    Japan's settlement of its past crimes is not a simple matter which allows it to go without settling it but a political issue that should be solved without fail no matter how much water may flow under the bridge and no matter how frequently the chief executive is replaced by another. It is the real issue that should be internationalized. Japanese politicians should bear this in mind.

Withdrawal of Troops from Iraq Urged

    Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- The People's Action against Troop Dispatch to Iraq in south Korea reportedly held a rally in front of the "National Assembly" building in Seoul on Dec. 14, demanding an immediate withdrawal of the troops dispatched to Iraq. Present at the rally were members of the people's action and members of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions who were holding strike rallies every day, more than 500 in all.
    Speeches were made by Han Sang Ryol, co-representative of the people's action, Kim Un Jin, executive chairman of the Democratic Labor Party, and Ri Thae Ho, joint secretary general of the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society, and others.
    Recalling that the motion on the extension of the period of the stay of south Korean troops in Iraq was carried at the "National Defence Committee of the National Assembly" on Dec. 12 to be presented to the "National Assembly" session under the manipulation of the Grand National Party of south Korea, the speakers said 90 percent of the people polled some time ago favored the pullout of the Jaitun unit from Iraq.
    Noting that the United States was seeking to keep the south Korean troops for a long period in Iraq for the Mideast war, they said the GNP which agreed to the extension of the period of the stay of the south Korean troops in Iraq would be unable to evade judgment by the people.

Syrian Preparatory Committee Formed

    Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- The Syrian preparatory committee for commemorating the Day of the Sun and February 16 in 2007 was inaugurated in Damascus with due ceremony on Dec. 13. Adnan Ismail, deputy general secretary of the Socialist Unionist Party of Syria, was elected chairman of the committee.
    The committee decided to set the days from December 15, 2006 to April 30, 2007 as a period of commemorations and arrange in the period various functions including meetings, photo exhibitions and film shows to hail the immortal feats performed by President Kim Il Sung for the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence and the validity and the vitality of Kim Jong Il's Songun policy and give wide publicity to the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

Japan's Sinister Design on Eurasian Continent Assailed

    Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- Japanese Foreign Minister Aso in a lecture recently blared that Japan would actively "get its hand" on the affairs of the Eurasian continent, relying on the Japan-U.S. axis. In other word, Japan would launch into "activities for freedom and prosperity" to render zealous "aid" in the settlement of the "democratic system" and development of the economy in Southeast and Central Asian and East European countries with the patronage and backing of the U.S. Branding the slogan of "freedom and prosperity" hung out by the reactionaries of the island country as a reversed slogan of aggression and plunder and a replica of "the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere" chanted by the Japanese imperialists in the past, a Rodong Sinmun analyst Monday says:
    Throwing off the mask of "a pacifist state," Japan is making its debut as a war-seeking state. Many countries are lifting up voices against the Japanese reactionaries' moves for overseas expansion.
    One of the main objects of Aso is to quell the concern of the Eurasian countries over Japan.
    Under the aegis of the U.S., Japan is going to hasten, among other things, the expanded dispatch of troops of the "Self-Defense Forces" overseas. Within the frame of this design, Japan is planning to elevate the Defense Agency to the ministerial status from January 9 next year while getting evermore outspoken in its moves to grab others' territories and distort history.
    The profusion of phrases used by Japan about "freedom" and "prosperity" are nothing but mishmash to mislead people, turning its back on justice.
    It is as clear as noonday that Japan, which is intensifying its hostile policy against the DPRK and intentionally worsening relations with its surrounding countries, can neither engage itself "in activities for freedom and prosperity" nor appear with a new image before the peoples of the Eurasian countries.

Brilliant Successes of DPRK in International Contests

    Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has adorned this year with shining successes in international contests. The immortal flowers Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia were awarded gold prizes, the top prize, and diplomas at the 2006 Shenyang, China, World Horticultural Expo which was participated in by horticultural organizations from more than 20 countries and regions. The horticultural experts and visitors to the expo did not stint praises to the flowers.
    Athletes of the country have achieved splendid successes in international matches to enhance the prestige of Songun Korea.
    Footballers won the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Championship, the women's football tournament of the 15th Asiad, U-17 Asian Championship. And Ri Jong Hyang and Yun Kum Ju won the championship at the 4th World Women's Boxing Championships and the former became twice championship holder.
    Korean woman athletes won the 10th Asian Marathon Championships and 25th international marathon race held in Macao, China.
    The DPRK bagged tens of gold medals at the 3rd Asian Taekwon-do Championships, 2006 Asian senior and junior figure skating championships and 15th Asiad.
    Meanwhile, young scientists, full of resolution to make a contribution to the development and prosperity of the country with hi-tech achievements, won six consecutive championship titles at the World Computer Go Championships, defeating other strong teams. And young students won the first prize and the best acting prize at the 5th World Student Chinese Language Contests and students of Pyongyang Music and Dance School gained the gold medal at the 4th World Chorus Contests to show developed scientific and cultural standards of the country.
    Girl student Hwang Un Mi was honored with the top price at the 13th Giuseppe di Stefano International Vocal Concours and the Korean paintings "Rainbow for Reunification" and "Masque Dance in Pongsan" were awarded gold prizes, the top prizes, at the 9th Beijing International Art Exhibition.
    The proud successes made by the DPRK in international contests this year encourage the Korean people who are striving hard to build a prosperous and powerful nation, overcoming manifold difficulties.

Bio-organic Fertilizers Developed

    Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- Varieties of bio-organic fertilizers useful for protecting ecological environment and for increasing grain production have been recently developed in the DPRK. Among them is a eurytropic multi-element compound fertilizer made with the help of technologies of lignite (or peat) treatment, rural organic substance treatment and surface chemistry.
    The fertilizer supplies nutritive elements to crop seeds to raise sprouting rate and accelerates root growth to absorb much more water and nutritive elements, thus quickening the growth of stem and leaves as well as raising the resisting power to damage from cold weather, moisture and drought.
    It, with its strong sterilizing power, increases soil corrosive substances and improves ventilation and water penetration and retention of the earth.
    An organic fertilizer with available microorganism has been newly developed, too.
    It controls microorganisms harmful to crops and increases available ones.
    The organic fertilizer, which is applicable to most of the crops, does not destroy the ecological environment and is safe in application.

ATCC comenta la conducta de Japon para evadir liquidacion del pasado

    Pyongyang, 18 de diciembre (ATCC) -- En estos tiempos, Japon lleva a la peor fase las relaciones con la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea recurriendo obstinadamente a las maniobras destinadas a "internacionalizar" el "problema del secuestro". En el "encuentro de los habitantes pensativos en el problema del secuestro", sesionado el dia 14 bajo auspicios del gobierno nipon, el premier Abe dijo que "no se puede establecer las relaciones diplomaticas con la RPDC sin que sea solucionado este problema".
    Mientras tanto, el canciller Aso y otras figuras politicas andan solicitando a los extranjeros de varios paises la "colaboracion" en la solucion de este asunto.
    Por otra parte, las fuerzas derechistas se congregaron en Tokio para auspiciar la "galeria de fotos en demanda de la solucion del problema del secuestro" y el "foro internacional para el debate sobre las victimas del secuestro".
    En tanto, la "direccion de medidas para el problema del secuestro" decidio iniciar en ano que viene la transmision de las noticias sobre el particular.
    Para este fin, el gobierno japones se encargara de producir los programas radiales y de encomendar la difusion de estos a las radioemisoras surcoreanas y europeas que operan sobre el Norte de Corea.
    Ademas, acordara con el Ministerio de Finanzas la inclusion de 226 millones de yenes, asignados a esa labor, en el proyecto del presupuesto adicional del ano en curso.
    Al intentar "internacionalizar" el ya resuelto "problema del secuestro" dandole mayor destaque, las autoridades japonesas pretenden evadir el deber de liquidar sus crimenes del pasado tergiversando que lo clave de las relaciones con la RPDC es precisamente este asunto.
    　Japon es el pais criminal que tras agredir a Corea en el pasado, secuestro y arresto de manera forzada a mas de 8 millones 400 mil jovenes y adultos coreanos y 200 mil coreanas para imponerles trabajos de esclavitud y la vida de "consoladoras sexuales" para las tropas japonesas.
    Inmediatamente despues de su derrota en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Japon debio reflexionar con sinceridad y liquidar el expediente de esos macro-crimenes del rapto.
    Sin embargo, hasta la fecha, este pais-isla nunca habia pedido disculpas al pueblo coreano ni mucho menos piensa en la indemnizacion.
    Historicamente, en el problema del secuestro Japon siempre ha sido el culpable y la RPDC, la victima.
    No obstante, ese pais secuestrador de pesima calana del mundo aboga por "internacionalizar" el "problema del secuestro" de alguien. Esto es un absurdo y vil acto para encubrir sus crimenes y evadir la liquidacion del pasado criminal al disfrazarse de "pais injustamente danado".
    　Los politiqueros japoneses deben saber que tal liquidacion por Japon es un asunto politico que debe ser solucionado e internacionalizado, lo quieran o no y aunque transcurra mucho tiempo y se sucedan los gobernantes.

Maniobras de Japon para extender garras al Continente Eurasiatico

    Pyongyang, 18 de diciembre (ATCC) -- En una reciente conferencia, el canciller japones Aso dijo que este pais-isla y Estados Unidos constituiran el eje principal en "tomar parte activa" en los problemas del Continente Eurasiatico. Es decir, con el apoyo de EE.UU., Japon va a desplegar las "actividades para la libertad y prosperidad" para "ayudar" activamente a los paises del Sudeste Asiatico y centroasiatico y de Europa oriental en el establecimiento del "regimen democratico" y el desarrollo economico. 　La consigna de la "libertad y la prosperidad" levantada por los reaccionarios del pais isleno es el lema de agresion y pillaje y nueva edicion de la doctrina de la "esfera de coprosperdiad de gran Asia oriental" esgrimida en el pasado por los imperialistas japoneses.
    　Asi revela el diario Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual insertado en su edicion de este lunes y prosigue:
    　Japon emerge como Estado belicista quitandose la mascara del "pais pacifista".
    　En varios paises resuenan las voces de denuncia al expansionismo a ultramar de los reaccionarios islenos.
    　Uno de los objetivos, que persigue Aso al anunciar las promesas referidas, es disipar las preocupaciones de los paises eurasiaticos por la conducta del pais-isla.
    　Mientras tanto, Japon trata de ampliar el despacho a ultramar de sus "fuerzas de autodefensa" bajo el amparo de EE.UU. Para este fin, decidio ascender el rango de la Agencia de Defensa al "ministerio" desde el 9 de enero del proximo ano e incurre mas abiertamente en las maniobras encaminadas a la usurpacion territorial y la tergiversacion de la historia.
    　La "libertad" y la "prosperidad" pregonadas por Japon no pasan de ser unos embustes para enganar a los pueblos desafiando a la justicia.
    　Puesto que este pais-isla intensifica su politica de hostilidad a la RPDC y empeora intencionalmente las relaciones con los paises circunvecinos, resulta obvio que no realizara ninguna "actividad por la libertad y la prosperidad" de otros ni se presentara con nueva cara ante los pueblos eurasiaticos.
