    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Faith in independence has made DPRK display its imposing sight as an ever-victorious powerful state and its people grow as a heroic people carving out the new era of history in the van, declares Rodong Sinmun in an editorial article Wednesday, a summary of which reads: Faith in independence is the best weapon for the prosperity of the country.

DPRK's Important Days Celebrated in Different Countries

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Round-table talks and lectures took place in Laos and Indonesia and a book and photo exhibition and film show in Austria on Dec. 12 and 13 respectively on the occasions the 15th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's assumption of the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 89th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk. On display in the venues of the events were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and other Korean books and photos showing the Songun leadership feats performed by him.
    The secretary of the Vientiane City Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union at round-table talks noted that the Lao youths know well about the Songun revolutionary leadership feats of Kim Jong Il and the revolutionary career of Kim Jong Suk, stressing the need to develop the relations between the youth organizations of the two countries.
    Harn Sinuraya, general director of Rabitra Bahtera Pratama Co. of Indonesia, said after listening to the lecture that Kim Jong Suk was a great woman who safeguarded the President in every hard-fought battle at the risk of her life and gave birth to Kim Jong Il and brought him up as a successor to the revolution, adding that he is now working world-startling miracles one after another as he grew up under such care.
    Adolf Pilz, chairman of the Society for the Promotion of the Relations between Austria and DPRK, addressing the book and photo exhibition, noted that he would strive hard to develop the bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation.
    The participants of the film show watched Korean film "The respected Comrade Kim Jong Il is a great thinker and theoretician."

President of Guinea-Bissau Supports Peaceful Reunification of Korea

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Guinea Bissau highly praises the Korean people for making positive efforts to bolster the country's military muscle and achieve its prosperity thanks to the Songun policy and the single-minded unity and registering great successes in this cause. Joao Bernardo Vieira, president of Guinea-Bissau, said this when receiving credentials from the DPRK ambassador to the country on Dec. 12. Noting that the policy of the DPRK is sure to triumph as it relies on the united efforts of the people on the basis of the faith that one should believe in the people as in Heaven, the president expressed positive support to the efforts of the Korean people to peacefully reunify the country by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation in accordance with the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Songun Idea and Policy Studied in Different Countries

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- The Songun idea and policy have been studied and introduced in more than 120 countries and regions including Russia, Syria, India, Belarus, France and Uganda this year. Kim Jong Il's famous works on the Juche idea, the basis of the Songun idea, were brought out in booklet by organizations and institutions of over 40 countries including the Mongolia Mt. Paektu Association for Independent Development and the Futra Publishing House of the Czech Republic.
    Political parties and organizations in Nepal, Pakistan, Italy, Democratic Congo and many other countries published books and bulletins explaining the principle and originality of the Songun idea founded and enriched by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and praising the might of the DPRK.
    Such events as seminars, lectures and round-table talks were held on over 500 occasions, with an attendance of political and social figures and broad sections of people. The participants stressed that the Songun idea and policy serves as a guarantee for defending the sovereignty and prosperity of each country and nation and ensuring global peace and security.
    The East European and Central Asian Regional Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Songun Policy described the Songun policy pursued by Kim Jong Il as the greatest policy in the present era and adopted a declaration calling for following the policy.
    In the meantime, at least 300 media bodies of the world gave publicity to the might and vitality of the Songun idea and policy. Among them were the Russian newspaper Patriot, Prensa Latina news agency of Cuba, the Lao newspaper Pasason and the Bulgarian newspaper Duma.

Military Attaches Corps Visits Panmunjom

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- The military attaches corps in Pyongyang visited Panmunjom on Dec. 19 on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army. The guests saw the monument bearing autography of President Kim Il Sung showing his immortal exploits in the noble cause of national reunification.
    They were briefed on the brilliant victory the army and the people of the DPRK won by smashing the armed invasion of the imperialist allied forces in the Fatherland Liberation War under the wise leadership of the President before making a round of the meeting room of armistice talks, the hall where the armistice agreement was signed and the former meeting room of the Military Armistice Commission.
    Yang Xilian, military attache of the Chinese embassy who is doyen of the corps, wrote in the visitor's book that the Korean Peninsula would surely be reunified in the near future.
    Igor Pablov, military attache of the Russian embassy, wrote in the visitor's book that he believed the U.S. forces would be withdrawn from the Korean Peninsula and Korea be reunified at an early date.
    Earlier, the members of the corps drove to the post of Mt. Taedok and went round different places before conversing with soldiers there.

War Moves of U.S. and S. Korean Authorities against DPRK Blasted

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- The United States and south Korean bellicose forces are said to have recently agreed upon rounding off by the end of next year "CONPLAN 5029" targeted against the DPRK through the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the south Korean army and the "South Korea-U.S. Combined Forces Command" according to the strategic guideline adopted at the 38th South Korea-U.S. annual security consultative meeting which was held in October. It must not go unnoticed that they are planning to stage a massive war game against the DPRK with the completion of the "CONPLAN 5029".
    Commenting on this, a Rodong Sinmun analyst Wednesday says:
    The United States is trying to pull a dirty business against the DPRK behind the curtain of talks. This is clear proof that it is seeking to vanquish the DPRK with a military strong arm, whetting its sword of aggression under the mask of dialogue.
    It is a mistake if the U.S. thinks it can bludgeon the DPRK into submission with the double-dealing tactics which it has employed for decades.
    The Bush group is still clinging to its trite hostile policy toward the DPRK, remaining captive to the anachronistic way of thinking. This is only driving the present situation to a more serious phase.
    Watching the acts of the U.S. bellicose forces framing war plots against the DPRK behind the scene while holding dialogue under the public eyes, the DPRK is getting further convinced that the United States is a dangerous one incredible as ever.
    We have a few words of warning to the south Korean bellicose forces. For them to dance to the drum-beating of the U.S. war-thirsty elements watching for a chance of a new war against the DPRK is an act of bringing a war to the Korean Peninsula. This is an indelible crime in the history of the nation
    The DPRK will decisively smash the vicious challenge of the enemies with the might of Songun.

Wreath Laid before Bust of Kim Jong Suk

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Officials in charge of cultural and friendly relations of foreign embassies here laid a wreath before the bust of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk at the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong on Wednesday to mark her 89th birth anniversary and paid a silent tribute to her. Written on the ribbon of the wreath were letters reading "The revolutionary exploits of anti-Japanese war hero Comrade Kim Jong Suk are immortal!"

Ostrich Farm in DPRK

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Ostrich is being bred in a scientific and technical way in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. There is an ostrich farm in a suburb of Pyongyang, which started its operation in September Juche 89 (2000).
    According to Chief Engineer of the farm Kim Yong Bin, the farm has recently built a computer database for establishing the ostrich breeding system and confirmed various scientific and technical issues such as the norm of nutritious substances for ostriches according to phases of their growth.
    It has also successfully solved the fodder issue in the winter season by treating dry grass with microorganism.
    Meanwhile, it is doing well the veterinary and anti-epizootic work by self-producing chicken plague vaccine for ostriches and ordinary veterinary medicines.
    The farm has an ostrich breeding cage, young ostrich cage, hatchery and other buildings.
    The roof of the ostrich fattening cage is made in a scientific calculation of sunshine. It makes it possible to safely breed ostriches even in the cold winter.
    Each cage was designed on the basis of scientific calculation and new construction methods so as to fully meet the ecological demand of the ostrich including supply of fodder and water.
    It has also a workshop furnished with all facilities from slaughtering to meat processing.

A Bird Flies to Pyongyang from Moscow

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- A bird with an identification ring attached to its left leg was caught at the foot of a hill in Pyongyang, attracting experts' attention. The bird, which is called Emberiza Spodocephala Pallas, wears a ring with the letters "XN 44459" and "Moscow".
    As soon as an avian fan caught it, he informed the Central Committee of the DPRK Natural Conservation Union about it.
    It is distributed in the northeast area of China, Siberia of Russia and Japanese islands.
    In the light of regional connection, there is a view that it can propagate itself in Korea, too. And it is told that some people saw the bird in highland areas.
    However, it is the first time that the bird was found in woods of Pyongyang.
    The fact that the bird came from Moscow to Pyongyang makes it possible to clarify the migrant route, period and habitats of the bird in a scientific way. In particular, today when the bird flu is spread by migrants, it is of very importance to study birds and exchange the information each other.
    The Central Committee of the Natural Conservation Union and related units of the DPRK are now deepening study on the bird in contact with relevant institutions of Russia.

Talks between Delegations of SPA of DPRK and State Great Hural of Mongolia

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- Talks between a delegation of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and a delegation of the State Great Hural of Mongolia took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall today. Present at the talks were deputies to the SPA Kim Wan Su, chairman of the Korea-Mongolia Friendship Parliamentary Group, Pak Gyu Hong and officials concerned from the DPRK side and members of the delegation of the State Great Hural of Mongolia headed by R. Badamdamdin, chairman of the Mongolia-Korea Friendship Parliamentary Group, and Janchivdorjyn Lomvo, Mongolian ambassador to the DPRK from the Mongolian side.
    The two sides at the talks exchanged views on the issue of boosting the relations between the SPA and the State Great Hural of Mongolia and a series of issues of common concern.

Hanthongryon Calls for Reconciliation and Unity among Koreans in Japan

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- The Federation of south Koreans in Japan for Democracy and Unification held a "meeting of activists in Kanto area for the harmony of the Korean community in Japan" in Tokyo on Dec. 3 with members of "the South Korean Women's Society in Japan for Democracy" and "the South Korean Youth League in Japan" attending, according to December 15 issue of Minjok Sibo, the newspaper published by Koreans in Japan. Chairman Kim Jong Bu in his speech titled "We expect the harmony of the Korean community in Japan from the standpoint of the movement for independent reunification" said that the movement for independent reunification represents the stand Hanthongryon has invariably maintained.
    Accusing the Japanese reactionaries of becoming evermore undisguised in their discrimination against the Koreans in Japan and national chauvinist policy, he charged that the May 17 Joint Statement, which calls the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and "'ROK' Residents Association in Japan" (Mindan) to get reconciled has been annulled due to the Japanese government's unreasonable pressure and interference.
    Terming the Japanese ultra-right conservative forces' undisguised interference and suppression intended to destabilize Mindan an unpardonable political action, he declared what is most important is for all the Koreans in Japan to unite close and launch a movement for independent reunification and thus achieve the harmony of the Korean community.

Rodong Sinmun condena belicismo de EE.UU. y Sur de Corea contra RPDC

    Pyongyang, 20 de diciembre (ATCC) -- Segun trascendidos, hace unos dias, las fuerzas belicistas de Estados Unidos y del Sur de Corea acordaron completar hasta finales del proximo ano el "plan conceptual 5029" contra la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea en la "Junta de los Jefes de Estado Mayor" del ejercito surcoreano y la "comandancia de las fuerzas conjuntas surcoreano-norteamericanas" segun la guia estrategica aprobada en la 38a "reunion consultiva anual para la seguridad" entre ambas partes efectuada en octubre ultimo. Lo mas alarmante es que al paralelo de la culminacion del "plan" referido, ellas tratan de desarrollar los ejercicios de guerra de gran envergadura para agredir a la RPDC.
    Esto deviene una prueba irrefutable de que detras de la cortina del dialogo, EE.UU. se prepara para ocupar con las fuerzas armadas a la RPDC.
    Asi insiste el periodico Rodong Sinmun en un comentario individual difundido este miercoles y continua:
    Esta muy equivocado EE.UU. que intenta desmoronar a la RPDC con su tactica de dos caras, usada ya durante varios decenios.
    Bush y sus compinches recurren invariablemente a la politica hostil a Corea sin liberarse del anacronico modo de pensar, lo cual complicara mas la situacion actual.
    La conducta de los belicistas norteamericanos, que dialogan por una parte con la RPDC y por la otra, tejen artimanas para agredirla, ratifica que no se puede confiar en EE.UU.
    Por su parte, las fuerzas belicosas surcoreanas cometen un crimen nunca expiable ante la nacion cooperando con EE.UU. que acecha la oportunidad para desatar una nueva guerra contra el Norte de Corea.
    La RPDC frustrara tajantemente con el poderio del Songun (priorizacion militar) los siniestros desafios de los enemigos.

Rodong Sinmun llama a glorificar la era de prosperidad de Corea

    Pyongyang, 20 de diciembre (ATCC) -- El diario Rodong Sinmun publico este miercoles un articulo de redaccion que senala en particular: 　Con la conviccion independiente, la patria se hizo fuerte e invencible y nuestro pueblo se convirtio en el heroico que abre una nueva epoca en la delantera de la historia.
    　En ese sentido, la conviccion independiente deviene el mejor remedio para la prosperidad de la patria y el factor principal que decide la prosperidad o la ruina de un pais o una nacion.
    　Solo los pueblos fuertes en esta conciencia pueden glorificar el honor y la dignidad del pais y allanar el verdadero camino de la prosperidad nacional.
    　La conviccion independiente constituye un arma poderosa para defender la dignidad, los derechos y la autoridad de una nacion.
    　Tambien es la fuente espiritual que permite formar al ejercito y al pueblo como combatientes indoblegables.
    　El muy digno pueblo coreano se robustecio confiando en si mismo.
    　La conviccion en cuestion deviene la garantia del constante desarrollo de la economia nacional.

Cuerpo de agregados militares en Corea visita Phanmunjom

    Pyongyang, 20 de diciembre (ATCC) -- En ocasion del 15 aniversario del nombramiento del Dirigente Kim Jong Il como Comandante Supremo del Ejercito Popular de Corea, el cuerpo de agregados militares en Corea visito la vispera Phanmunjom. Ante todo, los visitantes se dirigieron al monumento a la firma autografa del Presidente Kim Il Sung que transmite sus imborrables hazanas realizadas en la sagrada causa para la reunificacion de la patria.
    Luego, escuchando explicaciones sobre el hecho de que bajo la sabia direccion del Presidente, el ejercito y el pueblo de Corea lograron una victoria fulminante en la Guerra de Liberacion de la Patria frustrando la invasion armada de las fuerzas aliadas imperialistas, recorrieron la Sala de Negociaciones de Armisticio, la de suscripcion del Acuerdo de Armisticio y la Sala de Reuniones de la ex Comision Militar de Armisticio.
    El agregado militar chino Yang Xilian, quien preside al citado cuerpo, expreso en el libro de visitas su conviccion de que la Peninsula Coreana se reunificara sin falta en un futuro cercano.
    En el mismo libro, el agregado militar ruso Igor Pablov escribio que esta convencido de que las tropas norteamericanas se retiraran de la Peninsula Coreana y se lograra pronto la reunificacion de Corea.
    Con anterioridad, los huespedes recorrieron algunas partes del Puesto del monte Taedok y departieron con los militares de aqui.

Se amplian a escala mundial el estudio y propaganda sobre Songun

    Pyongyang, 20 de diciembre (ATCC) -- En 2006 tuvieron lugar el estudio y la propaganda de la idea del Songun (priorizacion militar) y la politica homonima en mas de 120 paises y regiones, inclusive Rusia, Siria, India, Belarus, Francia y Uganda. La Asociacion Paektusan para el Desarrollo Independiente de Mongolia, la Editorial Futra de Checo y otras entidades de mas de 40 paises dieron a luz en folleto las obras maestras del Dirigente Kim Jong Il relacionadas con la idea Juche que constituye la raiz de la del Songun.
    Los partidos politicos y entidades de Nepal, Pakistan, Italia, Congo Democratico y otros muchos paises publicaron los libros y boletines que explican los principios y originalidad de la idea del Songun, concebida por el Presidente Kim Il Sung y profundizada por el Dirigente Kim Jong Il, y alaban el poderio de la Republica Popular Democratica de Corea.
