Strongly condemning the Japanese authorities and police for their suppression of Chongryon and organizations under it and Koreans in Japan, the letter said this is a criminal act against Chongryon and the DPRK.
It reminds one of the era when the Japanese imperialists brought sanguinary crackdown on the Korean people in the past, it said, demanding the Japanese government stop at once the shameless actions against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan and respect and ensure their democratic national rights.

80th Anniversary of Anti-Japanese Women's Association Marked
Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- A national meeting was held at the Women's Hall Monday to mark the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Anti-Japanese Women's Association.
The association was formed on Dec. 26, Juche 15 (1926) under the energetic guidance of President Kim Il Sung and thanks to the unremitting activities of Kang Pan Sok, the mother of Korea.
It was a new revolutionary women's organization which was led by the President, with the immortal Juche idea as its guidelines, and a true women's mass organization fighting to overthrow Japanese imperialism and achieve the independence of the country and the socio-political liberation of the women.
Pak Sun Hui, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union, in her report said the formation of the association enabled the Korean women to hold the position of the master of the revolution for the first time in history and shape their destiny independently and creatively.
After the liberation of the country the President founded the Korean Democratic Women's Union, the only massive political organization of the Korean women which inherited the brilliant tradition of the association and led them to glorify their noble political integrity in upholding the Party and the leader, she noted, and continued:
The noble devotion of Kang Pan Sok and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk are deeply engraved in the glorious annals of the Korean women's movement of Juche.
The Korean women's movement is being successfully carried forward and developed and strenuously advanced under the veteran and tested leadership of Kim Jong Il.
Today the Korean women are devoting their strength and wisdom to the struggle to bring earlier the dawn of a great prosperous powerful nation under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.
It is the ideological and moral disposition of the Korean women and members of the women's union in the Songun era to devotedly defend the headquarters of the revolution as a citadel and a shield, regarding it as happiness to dedicate their lives and families in remaining loyal to the idea and intention of Kim Jong Il, following only him with unquestioned trust, no matter how many times the world may change.
All the women should learn from and follow the noble example shown by Kim Jong Suk in devotedly defending the leader and become steadfast women revolutionaries and true revolutionary comrades of Songun who follow Kim Jong Il in idea and faith and devotedly defend him in whatever storms and thereby consolidate as firm as a rock the single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks around the headquarters of the revolution.
Present at the meeting were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, and Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Tailings Treatment Ground Built
Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- Soldiers of the Korean People's Army have succeeded in building a ground for treating tailings, which had been regarded useless.
Soldiers of the Ra Son Jae-led unit buckled down to a job to treat and use tailings, saying that the tailings heaped in a mine were precious resources of the country.
They did the work of their own accord.
Officers of the unit acquired the ore-dressing technology at their leisure while performing military tasks and developed a new technology of treating tailings in close contact with scientists.
They decided to build a treatment ground at the point of joining of tailing sewers from the ore-dressing plant of the mine and built it in the revolutionary soldier spirit under difficult conditions.
Their devoted efforts bore fruit in a few months.
Now the ground produces concentrated ore of higher grade than what they had expected.
The construction of the treatment ground makes it possible to produce a large quantity of concentrated ore and add beauty to the natural scenery of the surrounding area.
Miru Plain Waterway Project Progresses Apace
Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- One more waterway project is being successfully carried on in Miru Plain of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

As of December 10, they completed the project of filling several hundred-meter-section of the Phyongam Reservoir Dam with earth and to cover it with stones and turf. And they successfully carried out a blasting for b

More Relics Displayed in Chilgol Revolutionary Museum
Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- More revolutionary relics have been added to the Chilgol Revolutionary Museum.
Those working in the field of the preservation of revolutionary relics recently succeeded in discovering and ascertaining many more revolutionary relics related to the patriotic family in Chilgol and the noble revolutionary career and feats of Kang Pan Sok, an indomitable revolutionary fighter, and the course in which young Kim Il Sung grew up to be a great revolutionary. On this basis the museum has undergone a radical change in the content of exhibits and the style of their display.
On display in the museum with five rooms are photos, historical relics, art works and hundreds of books, magazines and newspapers and other mementoes bearing witness to the revolutionary activities of members of the family of Kim Il Sung's father in Mangyongdae and his mother's family in Chilgol.
The first two rooms are devoted to materials on the family in Chilgol, a patriotic literary family, and an oil painting depicting Kang Pan Sok standing on a hill in Xiashahe after the Anti-Japanese Guerilla Army was founded and other historical materials telling how the mother endowed with rare personality from her childhood grew up to be the mother of Korea, wife of a revolutionary and an outstanding leader of the Korean women's movement.
On display in the rooms No. 3 and 4 are a map showing the places young Kim Il Sung visited to experience realities during his days at Changdok School and other revolutionary relics. They tell how he acquired the ideological and moral traits and qualities as an outstanding revolutionary through enthusiastic inquiry and activities, receiving revolutionary and patriotic education from his mother and how sincerely Kang Pan Sok helped Kim Hyong Jik in his revolutionary activities and contributed to the formation of the Anti-Japanese Women's Association and the foundation of the Anti-Japanese Guerilla Army.
Displayed in the Room No. 5 are historical relics proving the noble intention of the three generals of Mt. Paektu to make uninterrupted revolution generation after generation to realize the desire of Kang Pan Sok.
Videotaped materials, CDs and other multi-media are used to display relics in a peculiar manner in the museum. They deal with the long and rugged path of the revolution traversed by Kang Pan Sok who said one should go to the end of the earth if one is to achieve the liberation of the country.
Superheated Campaign for Militarization in Japan Blasted
Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- The land of Japs was and is chiefly to blame for the strained and aggravated situation in Northeast Asia, declares a Minju Joson analyst Tuesday.
Commenting on the grave developments in Japan, he says:
The Upper House of Japan on December 15 passed without a hitch the bill on upgrading the status of the Defence Agency to a ministry in the wake of its carriage through the Lower House, thus effectuating it as a law. And, some time ago, the "fundamental law of education" that had been in force for 54 years was revised legally.
The dust kicked up in Japan in elevating the status of the Defense Agency to a ministry and adopting a new "fundamental law of education" cannot be interpreted otherwise than one aimed to put greater spurs to the realization of the militarist ambition for overseas expansion.
The policy stance of the Japanese reactionaries is to hasten in break-neck speed the policy of overseas expansion by converting Japanese islands today into a "war state," totally throwing away even the nominal mask of "pacifist state."
In reality, Japan is taking ideological, military and institutional measures one after another to realize its ambition for overseas expansion.
In military aspect, it is showing strong zeal to strengthen ties with NATO. Looming up abundantly clear is the crafty stratagem of Japan to zealously intervene in international disputes in the form of active participation in military cooperation with NATO and attain its political purpose of overseas aggression through that leverage.
The Japanese reactionaries should know that the provocation of a war of reinvasion will lead it to self-destruction. The land of Japs will stand no chance of another revival, if it starts a war of reinvasion in Northeast Asia.
Distortion of History by Japanese Reactionaries under Fire
Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- The land of Japs is a country with a long record of crimes which ignited wars of aggression against Asian countries and committed hideous and shocking murders and human rights abuses previously unknown. Nevertheless, it has refused to honestly admit its past crimes and persistently evaded its historical obligation to make apologies and compensations, thus making itself a target of ridicule and denunciation worldwide.
This is the topic of a news analysis of Rodong Sinmun Tuesday.
Recalling that former U.S. President W. Bush advised Japan to make efforts to heal the wounds of history, saying the Japanese politicians' visit to the "Yasukuni Shrine" meant their denial of history, the analyst goes on:
The Japanese reactionaries, turning a deaf ear to the unanimous criticism and opposition at home and abroad, continue visiting the "Yasukuni Shrine". This reveals their sinister intention to create an ideological foothold and social climate for aggression overseas by fostering militarist hysterics in Japanese society. In other words, they seek in the visit to implant among the Japanese, those of the younger generation in particular, pride in the history of aggression and mindset of aggression for realizing at whatever cost the wild ambition to dominate Asia which they failed to materialize in the past.
They have gone the extent to cry that the Japanese King should visit the "Yasukuni Shrine".
Their shameless approach to the issue of "comfortable women" drafted for the Imperial Japanese Army is also made an object of denunciation and derision in the U.S. A brisk movement is noticed in the newly formed U.S. Congress for the adoption of a resolution on the issue. Their moral inferiority and effrontery are forced into a glaring light by their justification of the Japanese imperialists' crime in sex slavery and their insult of the Asian women who suffered humiliation beyond human imagination after being taken away as sex slaves.
In extolling to the skies their past crimes and refusing to make apologies and compensations, the reactionaries of the land of Japs seek to realize their wild design of reinvasion in Asia, come what may. If they become more blatant in defying the demand of the international community to admit the past crimes and make apologies, while engaging themselves in the distortion of history, they will find themselves in greater isolation and be put to more woeful shame.
S. Korean Authorities Urged to Retract Decision to Dispatch Troops to Lebanon
Pyongyang, December 26 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities decided to dispatch troops to Lebanon according to the U.S. imperialists' scenario. This is part of the very dangerous preparations for a war of aggression against the DPRK as it is intended to accumulate experience for carrying out their scenario of war against it.
Rodong Sinmun today observes this in a signed commentary.
Noting that the south Korean authorities decided to dispatch troops to Lebanon at a "Cabinet meeting" held in the middle of November and are working hard to have the motion calling for this troop dispatch passed through the "National Assembly" as soon as possible, the commentary goes on:
The south Korean war-like forces remain unchanged in their intention to antagonize compatriots and hurt them by force of arms despite the dynamic advance of the June 15 era of reunification.
The south Korean military authorities have already dispatched troops to various dispute-torn areas including East Timor under the name of "helping in restoring peace" where they have accumulated experience useful to maintaining "public security" and "controlling inhabitants" in the areas of the north side in case of emergency on the Korean Peninsula.
It is nobody's secret that the Jaitun unit of the south Korean army present in Iraq got familiar with the military operation to be conducted against the north by carrying out the large-scale long-distance night transport operation that has nothing to do with the mission to "restore peace." The principal aim sought by the south Korean authorities in the planned troop dispatch to Lebanon is to "boost the capability for logistic support," "acquire the capability for combined and joint operations" under different terrain and climatic conditions and "accumulate experience in controlling civilians" in the wartime.
The south Korean authorities are getting frantic with the preparations for a war against compatriots even in foreign lands, not away from their bad habit dating back to the era of confrontation though the atmosphere of north-south reconciliation and reunification is running high on the peninsula. This is a total perfidy to the June 15 joint declaration and a challenge to the DPRK.
Also lurking behind their planned troop dispatch to Lebanon is a cunning trick to provoke a war against the DPRK and provide preconditions for getting positive political and military backing from the outsiders.
It is, at the same time, intended to please their American master keen to realize his ambition to dominate the whole world and hurl with ease U.S.-led multinational forces into the Korean front in case of "emergency" on the Korean Peninsula through what they call "contribution" to the UN and "multinational cooperation."
Only Koreans' curses and condemnation and a miserable end await the south Korean war mongers preoccupied with the idea of doing harm to compatriots, toeing the hostile policy of foreign forces towards the DPRK.
