Kim Jong Il's Work Published In Laos

    Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il's work "The Juche Philosophy Is an Original Revolutionary Philosophy" was brought out in pamphlet by the Lao Youth Publishing House on Jan. 5. The work, published on July 26, Juche 85 (1996), scientifically analyses the limitations of the times when the preceding philosophies were enunciated and the originality of the Juche philosophy and clarifies the idea that the Juche philosophy precisely means the revolutionary philosophy, the political philosophy of the Workers' Party of Korea. It deals with the principled issues arising in the study and dissemination of the Juche philosophy.

Rallies Held to Vow to Implement Tasks Set Forth in Joint New Year Editorial

    Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Rallies were held by working people's organizations on Jan. 8 and 9 to vow to implement the militant tasks set forth in the joint New Year editorial. The reporter and speakers at the rally of workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea held at the plaza in front of the Monument to Party Founding called upon the workers in all fields and at all units including the four pilots of the national economy to carry forward the tradition of the Korean working class who has remained true to the leadership of the Party and perform miracles and innovations in production and construction.

Vigorous Reunification Movement Called for in S. Korea

    Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Organizations affiliated to the Solidarity for Implementing the South-North Joint Declaration in south Korea reportedly issued resolutions on the occasion of the New Year. The Preparatory Committee for the Jeju Regional Solidarity and the Taejon and South Chungchong Provincial Solidarity in their resolutions on Jan. 1 described this year as a historic year in which the Korean nation will win a decisive victory in the fierce confrontation with the U.S. and usher in a new era of independence, democracy and reunification.
    The resolutions called for conducting a more vigorous movement for national reunification under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration.
    The Pusan Regional Solidarity in its resolution on Jan. 2 declared that it would intensify the struggle for peace against the U.S. and war and the struggle for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from south Korea and against the Grand National Party of south Korea this year.
    The Kwangju and South Jolla Provincial Solidarity in its resolution on Jan. 3 said that it would decisively smash any moves of the U.S. and anti-reunification forces threatening the Korean nation, placing the will and interests of the nation above anything else.
    The Seoul Regional Solidarity in its resolution on Jan. 3 called upon the people of different social strata to glorify the year 2007 as a year of victory through the struggle for peace against the U.S. and war and the struggle for pullback of the U.S. troops and against the GNP.

Anniversary of Kim Jong Il's Work Observed

    Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- A seminar was held at Kim Chaek University of Technology Tuesday to mark the first anniversary of the publication of the famous work of Kim Jong Il "Kim Chaek University of Technology Is Nation's Highest Seat for Training Scientific and Technological Personnel and Pioneer of Revolution in Information Industry." Present there were Minister of Education Kim Yong Jin, officials of the ministry, teachers and students of the university.
    Speakers said that the work serves as a highly important work as it clarifies the position and role of the university in the building of a great prosperous powerful socialist nation at present and indicates the way of bringing about a fresh turn in the educational and scientific work at the university to train more able scientific and technological personnel.

Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration Called for

    Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- Co-chairmen of the All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration Paek Rak Chong, Kwak Tong Ui and Mun Tong Hwan separately made public articles on Jan. 1 on the occasion of the New Year in which they called for the full implementation of the declaration by pooling wisdom, according to a press report. Paek in his article titled "More Dynamic Movement for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration" wrote that the June 15 Grand Festival for National Reunification and a south-north seminar of mediapersons and other events were successfully held and the June 15 Association of Men of National Literature was inaugurated and sustained efforts were made to push forward the joint work for compiling the "Large Korean Dictionary" last year, adding all this made the Koreans optimistic about the implementation of the joint declaration.
    Kwak in his article described this year as a significant year for the movement for national reunification, stressing that the joint declaration should be preserved and implemented in whatever storm and stress as it is a landmark for reunification and to this end it is necessary to achieve the great national unity, guided by the idea of "By our nation itself."
    Mun in his article wrote that Koreans would preserve the declaration to the last and achieve independent and peaceful reunification.

S. Korean Ministry of Unification Denounced for Separatist Deed

    Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) reportedly released a statement on Jan. 3, denouncing the Ministry of Unification for its reckless acts against national reunification. The statement recalled that the ministry disallowed Chairman of the Reunification Committee of the KCTU Jin Kyong Ho's visit to the north for participating in the function of "workers' trip to Mt. Kumgang for peace and reunification against war on the New Year" slated to be held from Jan. 4 to 6.
    The ministry clarified its stand that it can not allow Jin to participate in the above-said function as he was punished for his visit to the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery during his trip to Pyongyang in May last year and is put under investigation on a charge of violation of the "National Security Law," the statement said.
    Noting that such behavior of the ministry precisely means denying its existence by itself, the statement expressed disillusion at the attitude of officials of the ministry against national reunification.
    The KCTU can never pardon the ministry for blocking the march for peace and reunification, the statement said, stressing that it would inform all the KCTU members and other people of the above-said fact and wage a struggle to denounce it.

Defence of Global Peace and Security Called for

    Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- To defend the global peace and security at present is an urgent requirement and task of the times which no one can turn aside from as it is a vital issue related to the destiny of humankind. Rodong Sinmun today observes this in a signed article. It goes on:
    The U.S.-led imperialist forces are becoming evermore undisguised in their moves for aggression and war. This requires all the countries to turn out as one to defend the global peace and security.
    It is the U.S.-led imperialists that pose the biggest threat to the global peace and security.
    It is the basic requirement for defending the global peace and security to deal a deadlier blow at the staggering U.S. imperialists badly beaten in different parts of the world.

    Pyongyang, 10 de enero (ATCC) -- La Editorial de la Juventud de Laos dio a luz el dia 5 en folleto la obra del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "La filosofia Juche es una original filosofia revolucionaria", publicada el 26 de julio del 85 (1996) de la Era Juche. 　 La obra hace analisis cientifico sobre las limitaciones de la epoca de las filosofias antecedentes y la originalidad de la jucheana e indica que esta ultima deviene la filosofia revolucionaria, la politica del Partido del Trabajo de Corea. Prosiguen mitines de apoyo al editorial conjunto

    Pyongyang, 10 de enero (ATCC) -- Tuvieron lugar los dias 8 y 9 los mitines de las organizaciones de masas, que juraron materializar cabalmente las tareas combativas presentadas en el editorial conjunto publicado en ocasion del Ano Nuevo. 　Los obreros e integrantes de la Federacion General de los Sindicatos de Corea se reunieron en la explanada frente al Monumento a la Fundacion del Partido.

Asi senala el periodico Rodong Sinmun en un articulo individual del dia 10 y continua:
    Las cada vez mas abiertas maniobras de agresion y guerra de Estados Unidos y otras fuerzas imperialistas demandan que todos los paises se levanten unanimemente en la lucha por preservar la paz y la seguridad del mundo.
    Para este fin, es preciso pegarle mas duro a EE.UU. cuando este es atacado ahora en varias regiones del mundo.
    Resulta muy importante el fortalecimiento del Movimiento de los No Alineados, bloque muy eficiente y poderoso para proteger la paz y la seguridad del orbe.
    　Hay que redoblar la vigilancia ante las maniobras de los imperialistas encaminadas a sembrar cizanas y descuartizar ese movimiento.
