Congratulations to Kim Jong Il

    Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il was presented with a floral basket and a congratulatory message by the Joint Nuclear Institute, an international organization, on the occasion of his birthday.
    The floral basket and congratulatory message were handed to a Korean official concerned working in Russia by the general director of the institute on Feb. 14.
    The general director wished Kim Jong Il good health and greater success in his noble work on his birthday. He sincerely hoped that the Korean people would build a great prosperous powerful nation and achieve the peaceful reunification of the country at an early date under his leadership.

Kim Jong Il's Work Published in Czech Republic

    Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il's famous work "Respecting the Forerunners of the Revolution Is a Noble Moral Obligation of Revolutionaries" was brought out in booklet by the Futra Publishing House of the Czech Republic.
    The work published on Dec. 25, Juche 84 (1995) clearly indicates the idea that respecting the forerunners of the revolution is a requirement of the revolution and questions of principle arising in establishing the moral traits of respecting them and developing noble relations of moral obligation among people.
    A ceremony for the publication of the booklet was held on the spot on Feb. 13.
    Addressing it, the general director of the publishing house said the work is of great significance as it made clear the questions of principle to be observed in the global movement for socialism.
    Noting that it is highly important to respect and add brilliance to the tradition established and feats performed by the forerunners of the revolution, he stressed it is also an urgent issue for the Communist Party of Czech and Moravia.

Floral Baskets to DPRK Embassy

    Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- Chea Sim, chairman of the Central Committee of the People's Party of Cambodia, and Keo Puth Rasmey, chairman of the FUNCINPEC Party of Cambodia, sent floral baskets to the DPRK embassy in that country on Feb. 16, the birthday of Kim Jong Il.

Songun Politics Praised

   Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- Festive events including seminars, lectures, round-table talks and film shows took place in South Africa, Romania, Indonesia and Mexico from Jan. 27 to Feb. 9 on the occasion of the birthday of Kim Jong Il.
    On display at the venues of the functions were famous works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and photos showing their undying feats.
    The participants in the film shows saw DPRK films including "The Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il Gives On-the-spot Guidance to the Work of Different Fields" and "Great Leadership in Guiding the Building of a Great Prosperous Powerful Nation to Victory".
    Vasile Orleanu, chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania, at the seminar said: Kim Jong Il is wisely leading the DPRK with Songun policy. All the achievements registered in the DPRK are entirely attributable to his Songun revolutionary leadership. The DPRK is powerfully pushing forward the socialist cause with military capabilities mighty enough to frustrate any aggressive moves of imperialism.
    Biharudin Bassir, director of the Dwi Mitra Berkassa Company, Indonesia, in a lecture noted that Songun politics is an inspiring banner for progressive humankind in their struggle for independence and justice, global peace and security and a beacon of hope illuminating the road ahead of the cause of global independence.
    Heron Rosales Zamorano, secretary general of the National Executive Committee of the Front of Trade Unions of Lazaro Cardenas of Mexico, and other figures at the round-table talks expressed full support to the Korean people's cause of justice.

NSL Branded as Stumbling Block in Way of Peaceful Reunification

   Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- It is definitely necessary to repeal, first of all, the "National Security Law" (NSL), an anti-reunification fascist law, in south Korea, if an end is to be put to the confrontation concept of the old era and the cause of independent reunification be dynamically advanced, says Rodong Sinmun in a signed article today.
    Branding the NSL as a malicious law against the nation and its reunification that institutionally incites north -south confrontation and a draconic law hindering the cause of the country's reunification by checking north-south cooperation and exchanges, the article goes on:
    A horror-ridden atmosphere reminiscent to the past period dictatorship is being created and the concept of the era of confrontation that "what benefits the north does harm to the south" is surfacing to throw a snag in the way of social progress and the cause of the country's reunification under the NSL in south Korea.
    With the NSL left intact, it is unthinkable about the reconciliation and reunification of the Korean nation and, furthermore, the noble achievements of cooperation and unity made by the fellow countrymen in the north and the south hand in hand may go up in smoke.

    Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il was presented with a floral basket by the State Academic Moiseyev Dance Company of Russia and gifts by public figures of a city of Volgograd region and the general director of the Glass Science Institute on his birthday.
    They were handed to the DPRK ambassador and official concerned in Russia by the director of the State Academic Moiseyev Dance Company, the president of the Russian International Charity Fund "Protectors of Arts for the Century" and the general director of the Glass Science Institute from Feb.14 to 16.

    Pyongyang, 20 de febrero (ATCC) -- El Dirigente Kim Jong Il recibio un cesto de flores y mensaje de felicitacion que en ocasion de su cumpleanos (16 de febrero), le dirigiera el Instituto Nuclear Combinado, organizacion internacional. El director general de esta entidad los entrego el dia 14 a un funcionario coreano que trabaja en Rusia.
    En esta ocasion, el director general deseo de todo corazon que el Dirigente, quien acoge su cumpleanos, tenga buena salud y mayores exitos en su valioso trabajo y que bajo su direccion, el pueblo coreano construya cuanto antes una gran potencia prospera y logre la reunificacion pacifica del pais.

Checo: obra de Kim Jong Il en folleto

    Pyongyang, 20 de febrero (ATCC) -- La Editorial Futra de Checo dio a luz en folleto la obra maestra del Dirigente Kim Jong Il "Tratar con respeto a los precursores de la revolucion es un sublime deber moral de los revolucionarios", publicada el 25 de diciembre del 84 (1995) de la Era Juche.
    La obra dilucida claramente la idea de que respetar a los precursores de la revolucion es la demanda de la revolucion y los problemas de principios que se presentan para crear la costumbre moral de tratarlos con respeto y desarrollar las nobles relaciones de obligacion moral entre las personas.
    La ceremonia de edicion de la obra tuvo lugar el dia 13 en el mismo lugar.
    El gerente de la Futra senalo que esta obra reviste gran significado por haber planteado los problemas de principios que deben ser mantenidos en el movimiento socialista del mundo.
    Es muy importante apreciar y llevar adelante las tradiciones y hazanas logradas por los precursores revolucionarios, dijo el orador y apunto que este asunto resulta uno de los problemas prioritarios tambien para el Partido Comunista de Cechy-Morava.
