U.S. and S. Korean Warmongers' DPRK-Targeted War Exercises Assailed

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Korean National Peace Committee released a statement on Sunday to denounce the U.S. and south Korean warmongers for staging the DPRK-targeted RSOI and field mobile exercise in south Korea defying strong protest.
The launch of the above-said war maneuvers is a product of deliberately planned and systematic moves of the U.S. and south Korean bellicose forces to prevent the desire for peace and reconciliation from growing stronger and escalate tension on the Korean Peninsula in a bid to frustrate the process of dialogue and peace and, furthermore, ignite a war, the statement said, and continued:
The above-said RSOI and field mobile exercise is an extension of the moves to provoke a war against the DPRK and an extremely dangerous preliminary war, a test nuclear war before going over to an actual war. This saber-rattling just launched behind the curtain of "dialogue" and "peace" is a very rude act proving their utter lack of good faith and courtesy and an unpardonable perfidy to the dialogue partner.
This clearly indicates that the U.S. and south Korean authorities' talk about "dialogue" and "improved relations" is nothing but hypocrisy and they are still persisting in their hostile policy toward the DPRK and confrontation with it.
The army and people of the DPRK will bolster the self-defensive deterrence for defending the dignity and sovereignty of the Korean nation to cope with the provocative moves of the U.S. and south Korean warmongers for a war of aggression against it. If the aggressors ignite a war on this land, the army and people of the DPRK will resolutely retaliate against them with merciless deadly blows.
The U.S. would be well advised to stop at once its reckless war exercises against the DPRK, which are harmful to the settlement of the nuclear issue and peace of the Korean Peninsula and driving the situation to a phase of confrontation and war.
The south Korean authorities should immediately halt their criminal acts of participating in the war moves of the outside forces against the Korean nation and peace, well aware that their involvement in the outside forces-led saber-rattling against the fellow countrymen is a treacherous act of driving the inter-Korean relations to a collapse in violation of the June 15 joint declaration.

Special Issue of Information Bulletin Issued in South Africa to Commemorate Day of Sun

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The South African Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Day of the Sun in 2007, the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party and the South African Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Korean People jointly released a special issue of information bulletin "Eternal father of humankind" on Mar. 19 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.
It carried a series of articles entitled "Kim Il Sung, pioneer of cause of Songun," "Immortal feats performed by President Kim Il Sung in cause of independence against imperialism", "Songun policy and Korean-style socialism," etc.
The articles said that Kim Il Sung, eternal leader of the Korean people, is the sun of Juche and father of socialist Korea and all the people and the President's feats performed in the cause of human emancipation will always be remembered by the world progressive people.
The Songun cause pioneered by the President has been successfully carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il, they stressed.

Abe's Reckless Remarks Assailed by Swiss Body

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- We demand the Japanese chief executive retract his reckless remarks, apologize to the Korean people and compensate to the victims and their bereaved families.
The Swiss Committee for Supporting Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea demanded this in its message sent to the Japanese prime minister on Mar. 14 in protest against his outbursts denying the crimes related to "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army.
Terming his denial of the crimes committed by the imperial Japanese army against humanity in the past an insult to the victims and their bereaved families and a mockery of the international community, the message stressed that Japan's behavior denying and justifying the criminal acts perpetrated by it against the Korean people clearly indicates that it is still pursuing its ambition for militarization and overseas aggression.

U.S.-S. Korean Joint Military Exercises under Fire in Britain

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The British Branch of the Friendship Association with Korea in a statement on Mar. 19 said that the U.S.-south Korean joint military maneuvers are dangerous ones for a war aimed at increasing the maneuverability of the U.S. forces present in south Korea and ensuring logistic support for the south Korean forces in case of "contingency".
It is nonsensical for the U.S. to talk about "peace" and "disarmament", while staging provocative war drills, the statement noted, adding that the projected war exercises prove that the U.S. is seeking a sinister aim to threaten and stifle socialist Korea.
The action taken by the U.S. cannot be construed otherwise than moves to dampen the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration and deter the inter-Korean ties from improving, it held, urging the U.S. and the south Korean authorities to immediately cancel their plan for the provocative war maneuvers.

U.S.-S. Korean RSOI and Field Mobile Exercise under Fire

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- Kang Sun Ho, chairman of the United Confederation of Koreans in Kazakhstan, released a statement on Mar. 19 in denunciation of the U.S.-south Korean RSOI and field mobile exercise.
The statement said: No sooner had agreements been reached at the six-party talks and the inter-Korean ministerial talks on making concerted efforts to ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula and warm up the inter-Korean ties than the U.S. and south Korean trigger-happy forces announced their plan for the DPRK-targeted war maneuvers. This is an insult and a perfidy to all the Koreans.
This is touching off wrath and indignation among overseas Koreans hailing the successes made at the six-party talks and the inter-Korean ministerial talks and expressing expectation towards them.
The above-said war exercises are unjustifiable and will only becloud the prospect of settling the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula and entail disastrous consequences.

Halt to DPRK-Targeted Joint Military Maneuvers Demanded

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The U.S.-south Korean RSOI and Foal Eagle joint military exercises that have started in south Korea today are provocative ones as they throw a wet blanket on the growing atmosphere of peace on the Korean Peninsula and, at the same time, a preliminary war, a nuclear test war aimed at making a surprise preemptive attack on the DPRK.
Minju Joson Sunday observes this in a signed commentary.
    It goes on:
The U.S. and the south Korean authorities are staging frantic exercises for a war of aggression against the DPRK, a dialogue partner, by mobilizing huge troops and ultra modern military hardware. This suggests that they have no interest in dialogue, peace and detente and are still pursuing their ambition to stifle the DPRK by force of arms.
It is necessary to create the atmosphere of peace and trust for dialogue in order to give smooth continuity to the process for the settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula.
However, the U.S. and the south Korean authorities are staging adventurous exercises for a war of aggression, seriously threatening the DPRK by force, beclouding the atmosphere of the talks and driving the situation in the Korean Peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region to the brink of a war.
This may entail such serious consequences as escalating the tension between the DPRK and the U.S. and scuttling the six-party talks for the settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula arranged with so much effort.
Noting that the DPRK is ready for both war and dialogue, the commentary stresses that it is the spirit and independent mode of counter-action of the Songun Korea to react to force with force and counter any provocation with merciless deadly blows.

GNP's Red Herring Ridiculed

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The National Reconciliation Council released an open questionnaire on March 24 blasting the Grand National Party of south Korea (GNP) for resorting to all sorts of despicable deeds and red herring recently in a bid to grab power by pulling the wool over the people's eyes.
Does the GNP have the face to talk about the improved inter-Korean ties, while totally negating the June 15 joint declaration and debasing this day as a "day of national humiliation"? The questionnaire asked, and continued: An attitude towards the joint declaration is a touchstone discerning the fundamental stand on the inter-Korean ties and reunification. The GNP should, first of all, clarify whether it stands for the declaration or against it.
The document assailed the GNP for blustering recently that it would not rule out a war and openly advocated even a "local war", zealously supporting outside forces' racket against the DPRK over the nuclear issue.
The GNP should apologize to the nation for making such war cry before trumpeting about "peace" and assure it that it would not repeat such reckless remarks, it stressed. The GNP talked about "contact" and "cooperation" with the DPRK, while opposing the repeal of the "National Security Law" which labels compatriots an "enemy," the questionnaire noted, demanding it clarify its stand on whether it is in a position to deal with the DPRK. Pointing to the GNP's talk about what it called "internal issue," the questionnaire stressed: The GNP's criminal moves and plot to grab power are not confined to an internal affair of south Korea but a matter related to the prospect of the nation. The GNP would be well advised to properly know what an "internal affair" is and say what it should do to the outside forces which have actually meddled in the internal affairs of south Korea, keeping it under their occupation.
Dismissing the GNP touted "switchover in its policy towards the north" as an artifice to tide over its crisis and escape isolation, the questionnaire noted:
The nature of the GNP can never change in view of its origin, its membership and its inherent nature. With nothing can the GNP cover up its true colors as a pro-U.S. traitorous party and a party advocating confrontation with the DPRK.
The GNP had better stop working hard to mislead the people's mind-set and public opinion with such poor charade which can convince no one. It would be well advised to go to its grave before it is too late, the miserable end it is fated to meet.

Imperialists' Theory on "Protection of Human Rights" Blasted

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The imperialists and reactionaries have raised a hue and cry over "protection of human rights" and "stance of putting human rights above anything else" in a bid to hide their true colors as human rights abusers and slander and defame the progressive countries including socialist countries. In doing so they seek a sinister political purpose to quell the struggle of their countries for freedom and human rights on one hand and destabilize the progressive countries on the other.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
    It goes on:
The imperialists' loudmouthed theory on "protection of human rights" is nothing but sophism intended to beautify the reactionary and unpopular capitalist society, a move to slander and destroy socialism and a political lever for wantonly interfering in the internal affairs of other countries and trifling the destiny of other nations.
It is a very important issue at present to roundly expose and frustrate the imperialists' moves to justify their theory on "protection of human rights" in a bid to achieve a sinister purpose.
The issue of human rights can be properly settled only when one has a viewpoint of putting human beings, the popular masses who are the most precious beings in the world at the centre of everything.
What the people like precisely represents the fair and absolute standards of human rights.
Human rights, in essence, mean the independent rights of the popular masses.
The imperialists have preached that abstract rights for super-class rights are "human rights", while advocating the "right to freedom", "right to equality" and "right to property" of individuals only.
If the issue of human rights is to be properly settled, it is necessary to firmly protect the sovereignty of a country and nation and enforce benevolent politics.
The Songun politics is of special importance in properly settling the human rights issue at present.
The Songun politics is efficient politics for averting the imperialists' war and aggression and defending human rights. This powerful weapon can be built only when tremendous military muscle is secured. Songun is a prerequisite to and reliable guarantee for the protection of human rights.
In order to fully solve the human rights issue, it is important not to allow the reactionary moves to infringe upon the interests of the popular masses.
No matter how persistently the imperialists slander socialism, they can never distort and defame the progressive nature and advantage of socialism nor can they chill the people's ardent aspiration and longing for socialism.

Dynamic Drive for Building of Socialist Economic Power Called for

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article calls for waging a dynamic offensive to reach the high peak of an economic power, noting that the Korean revolution is entering the new historic phase of ushering in a period of full efflorescence in the efforts for the prosperity of the country.
Saying that it is the matured requirement of the developing Korean revolution to build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation in which the state power is strong, everything prospers and people lead a happy life with nothing to desire more in the world, the article goes on:
The economic power means a country which has put a self-reliant national economy on a higher level of development, thus having a powerful socialist material and technical foundation commensurate with the appearance of the great prosperous powerful nation, and provides the people with an abundant material and cultural life.
An economy placed on a highly modern and scientific basis calls for equipping all sectors of the national economy with up-to-date equipment and technology which mean ultra-modern science and technology and putting production and management on the latest scientific and technological basis.
It is the firm determination of the Workers' Party of Korea, which regards it as a supreme principle governing its activities to improve the standard of people's living, to make a great advance in solving the food problem of the people and decisively boost the production of mass consumption goods.
The prospect of building a socialist economic power is bright and it is not a long way to scale the eminence of an economic power. The DPRK is fully capable of building an economic power in the near future given the solid springboard from which to build a rich and powerful nation.

Japan Urged to Apologize to Victims of Sexual Servitude

Pyongyang, March 25 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Anti-U.S. Women's Society reportedly made public a statement titled "The Japanese government, open to public the whole story about the issue of 'comfort women' and make official apology and compensation for it" on March 19.
The statement accused the Japanese government of clarifying its formal stance to negate the past crimes as regards the issue of "comfort women" for the imperial Japanese army of late.
The attitude justifying Abe's reckless remarks that "there is no evidence proving the forcible recruitment of "comfort women" fully reveals the shamelessness of Japan which does not have even an ounce of conscience, it noted, and continued:
The Japanese government has committed a murder of the victims of the crimes who have lived in bitter grief for more than several decades by repeating the reckless remarks going against the trend of history and justice.
No country would trust Japan free to let loose such shameless outbursts and treat it as a partner in the international community, the statement said, demanding the Japanese government make a formal apology to the victims of the sexual servitude and legal compensation to them.

Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Koreans overseas supported the struggle of the south Korean people for the repeal of the "National Security Law" (NSL).
The United Confederation of Koreans in Kirgyzstan in a statement on Mar. 17 accused the pro-U.S. conservatives in south Korea of brutally suppressing the patriotic people and youths and students struggling for national reunification by invoking the NSL. Their actions for repeal of the NSL represent the struggle for making the south Korean society independent and democratic, the statement noted, and continued:
The compatriots overseas will positively support the just struggle of the south Korean people for the repeal of the NSL and always stand by them.
The General Association of Koreans in China in a statement on Mar. 20 noted that the NSL is the most evil law in the world history of laws, revealing its criminal, reactionary and harsh nature.
The statement denounced the ultra-right pro-U.S. conservative forces such as the Grand National Party of south Korea for suppressing the pro-reunification movement bodies and patriotic figures by invoking the NSL in a bid to realize their sinister aim to grab power.

Aggressive Nature of U.S. and S. Korean Joint Landing Exercise Disclosed at Local Court

Pyongyang, March 24 (KCNA) -- Ri Kyu Jae, chairman of the South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country's Reunification (Pomminryon), and others reportedly disclosed the aggressive nature of the south Korea-U.S. joint landing exercise, which was staged in Manripho last year, at the Taejon District Court on March 16.
That day the court held a trial of members of civic and public organizations such as the South Headquarters of Pomminryon and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification after persecuting them on charge that the press conference held by them in protest against the joint landing exercise at that time was "interference in officials' performance of special duty."
The speakers at the court held that the exercise was aimed to round off the preparations for landing operations on the West coast to secure strong points from which to attack the north, pursuant to "OPLAN 5027-04." It is none other than the commander of the south Korea-U.S. "combined forces" and the minister of "National Defense" who should stand trial as they commanded the illegal joint landing exercise for aggression, they charged.
Meanwhile, members of the Pomminryon South Head quarters and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification held a press conference in front of the Taejon District Court and denounced the projected south Korea-U.S. RSOI and Foal Eagle joint military exercises.
